Italy’s Antitrust Targets Alberta Ferretti, Alitalia and Influencers

FLYING PROBE: Italy’s antitrust watchdog has begun a probe to determine whether Alitalia and luxury goods group Aeffe have possibly engaged in surreptitious advertising through social media.
The antitrust authority has launched a preliminary investigation of Italy’s largest airline company and of Aeffe, in a link to its co-owner Alberta Ferretti. It is also investigating a number of influencers, including Chiara Ferragni, who posted on Instagram images of themselves wearing Alberta Ferretti designs embellished with the Alitalia logo.
On Tuesday, Aeffe executive chairman Massimo Ferretti, brother of the designer, had no comment on the issue.
In June, Ferretti unveiled the new uniforms she designed for employees of Alitalia, as well as a see-now-buy-now capsule collection. The latter was presented at the brand’s resort 2019 and “Limited Edition” midi couture fall collection runway show that month.
The new uniforms replaced this summer those designed by Italian haute couturier Ettore Bilotta, which Alitalia introduced in 2016.
The capsule was immediately available at the brand’s stores and e-commerce, as well as at selected retailers including LuisaViaRoma, Rinascente, Farfetch, Barneys and Forward by Elyse Walker, and consisted of a sweatshirt, a T-shirt and a sweater embellished with the Alitalia logo.

Lorenzo Quinn on His Sculpture at the Alberta Ferretti Show

ART TOUCH: The impressive aluminum sculpture “Gravity” by Lorenzo Quinn was hard to miss on Alberta Ferretti’s runway, strategically lit under the arches of the late Baroque complex of the Rotonda della Besana. A geometric structure with a naked man sitting on two Perspex plates supporting a suspended naked woman. “Everything revolves around the woman, who is at the center of the universe,” explained the artist, the son of actor Anthony Quinn. “She gives life, but the man is there to support her. I believe this is especially timely today.” As a friend of Ferretti’s, Quinn said they had long wanted to collaborate on a project. “I feel my sculpture fits with the idea of the strong woman Alberta designs for,” he said.

Alberta Ferretti Teams With Luisa Via Roma on Holiday Sweater

MILAN — Say it with a sweater.
In keeping with the success of her Rainbow Week knits — the range of sweaters with the days of the week which made their debut on the brand’s pre-fall catwalk in January — Alberta Ferretti has developed a special style for the holiday season.
A red cashmere crewneck sweater showing the wording “Merry Christmas” in ivory-white will be sold in exclusive at luxury online fashion shopping destination luisaviaroma.com starting from Nov. 17 at noon.
The sweater, which will be available for women, men and children, will retail at 295 euros for the children’s version and at 440 euros for the adult option.
In the last few months, the Alberta Ferretti brand developed special editions of the Rainbow Week sweater, including a style celebrating fashion influencer Chiara Ferragni’s 30th birthday anniversary last May and the one created for Milanese retailer La Rinascente introduced last September during Milan Fashion Week.
