Frankies Bikinis to Launch RTW During L.A. Runway Show

Frankies Bikinis, the Los Angeles-based contemporary swimwear line founded five years ago by then-18-year-old Malibu native Frankie Aiello, is branching out into ready-to-wear. The collection, dubbed Aiello, will debut alongside Frankies Bikinis’ resort 2019 collection during a runway show in L.A. on June 21.
Aiello, now 23, said she chose to forgo showing at Miami Swim Week, which she has done for the past four years. “I feel like at this point I could show in Miami with my eyes closed. Now was the time to bring it back to my hometown and do something different,” she said. (Another 18-year-old designer, Gianna Caruso of Gigi G, will make her Miami Swim runway debut this year.) Frankies Bikinis sells in 200 retail doors worldwide including Kith, Selfridges, Diane’s Beachwear and Revolve.com, and Aiello will sell primarily on the Frankies’ e-commerce site.

The designer believes there are few rules to follow in fashion anymore, which is also the idea behind her rtw collection. “I cringe when I hear the words ‘beach cover-up.’ We wanted to detach ourselves from that and create

Gigi C Bikinis Gets Physical at The Grove

She’s definitely her father’s daughter, but Gigi Caruso says it’s her mother Tina Caruso, not her developer dad, who was the direct inspiration for Gigi C Bikinis, her year-old swimwear line that got its first physical space on Thursday at — you guessed it — The Grove. The shipping container pop-up that resides permanently across from Nordstrom will be home to Gigi C for the next few weeks.
It’s still impressive work for the 18-year-old high school senior, who is bound for the University of Southern California in the fall and intends to keep running her Los Angeles-based company while majoring in communications and taking business classes.
“I’ve never had the chance to interact face-to-face with my customers before so this is really like a dream,” said the youngest Caruso, who began developing her line at age 15, cutting up old suits and pinning them together in order to create fashionable styles that were also functional for her water-sports-heavy beach style. It was her mother, a former swimsuit model, who provided more Seventies and Eighties style inspiration with her portfolio of photographs.
Gigi C retails on Revolve.com as well as its own e-commerce site, so bricks-and-mortar retail and in-person customer conversations are new

Bikinis and Spa Time! Gwyneth Paltrow and Girlfriends Relax During Bachelorette Weekend

Gwyneth Paltrow is treating herself during her bachelorette getaway.

The 45-year-old actress flew down to Cabo, Mexico with some of her closest friends to celebrate her upcoming wedding to producer Brad Falchuk.

“Yesterday they had lunch on the beach,” a source tells PEOPLE. “The girls all wore white dresses with their initials on them.”

The group was seen by the beach in matching white wrap dresses with their initials in lowercase letters on the left side.

Paltrow later posted a scenic Instagram picture of her stay, captioning the shot “#henweekend.”

The Goop CEO arrived in the Mexican beach hotspot earlier this week with a few of her closest girlfriends in tow. A source told PEOPLE they had a schedule packed with fun outings.

“Gwyneth arrived in Cabo Wednesday with a group of girlfriends, including Stella McCartney, for her bachelorette party,” the source said. “She looked ecstatic. They have many fun activities planned, including pool time, spa and fun dinners.”

Paltrow and Falchuk announced their engagement in January after three years of dating. The couple shared their happy news with a sweet shoot on the cover of Goop Magazine’Sex & Love issue. The mother of two debuted her massive sapphire engagement ring that same month at the Producers Guild Awards.

Paltrow previously opened up about her upcoming nuptials, saying she was excited to plan her wedding.

“I’m excited about everything!” she told PEOPLE. “I’ve never had a wedding before. So even though I’m 45, I sort of feel like a 21-year-old.”

Bosom-Boosting Bikinis: 5 Key Features to Look For When Shopping for Swimwear

When you’re stripped down to a bikini, it’s hard to hide much of anything. The pads, cutlets, and other little tricks ordinarily deployed to give a bust some boost pose a big challenge when a dip in the pool or the ocean seems imminent. But all hope is not lost! Certain cuts and embellishments can make your bosom look a little curvier.

Here are five key things to look for:

Structure: A formed-cup suit will help give breasts shape and a little bit of extra size (many options will also include some padding). If you know your day is only going to involve lounging and staying firmly on dry land, this style can easily be modified with the same silicone cutlets used for extra push-up in a bra.

Ruffles and frills: Fringe, curtains, and tiered material all add excess fabric and dimension, a plus when you want to fake a little bit of size (conversely, if you’re looking for a slimming anything, the first thing to go should be embellishment). Along with adding extra mass, the details serve as a distraction to slimness up top.

A low-cut French style: Experts agree this style, with skinny straps attached like a traditional bra, is often the most flattering on small chests. Cuts can vary, but the spacing of the straps allows for the scoop to go super low, a dangerous dip for busty women, but perfect for making the most of smaller cup sizes.

A center tie: Whether it’s an ornamental bow or a design switcheroo, having ties that can be tightened at the center will help pull breasts closer together, creating cleavage. The opportunity to personalize the fit is also paramount for women with smaller rib cages.

A true string bikini: The trusty pick is a good one, since the moveable triangle pieces can easily be slid to the outer side of the torso, exposing your curves wherever they may be. The option to adjust to your bod is wise since a top with anchored pieces can often read as oversized on a small chest.
