“Spring/summer 2019 is by far one of my most technically advanced collections and having it launch with such an iconic retailer as Nordstrom is a dream come true,” said Bates.

Canada Is So Freezing Cold, the Calgary Zoo Moved Its Penguins Indoors to Keep Warm

It’s a cold snap life for penguins up in Alberta, Canada.

Not only did the Calgary Zoo have to cancel its Zoo Lights holiday event on Dec. 30 and Dec. 31 due to frigid temperatures, but the staff also decided to bring its penguin flock inside rather than subject the Antarctic and Sub-Antarctic birds to the -28 C (feels like -40 C with the wind chill!) weather. The zoo follows a guideline whereby zookeepers bring the birds inside when the temp falls below -25 C.

According to CTVNews, the zoo has 51 members in its flock, which represents a variety of species. In the wild, king penguins often dwell in sub-Antarctic regions, but they are more accustomed to milder climates than their Antarctic cousins, the emperor penguins.

“We just don’t want to expose them to too much,” Malu Celli, the zoo’s curator, told CTVNews on Sunday. “To keep them safe, we decided to pick a limit to let them out.”

Celli went on to say that “It’s not necessarily that it’s too cold for them … I believe that physiologically, they can withstand colder weather than what we have here, but these are not wild birds.”

In fact, the king penguins have a chick among the flock (see “Cleopatra,” below) who is still maturing, so the zookeepers decided to err on the side of safety.

All species of penguins have a layer of insulating fat, as well as down feathers that help them keep warm. Plus, the tuxedoed birds tend to huddle together to create warmth while conserving heat by keeping their flippers close at their sides. That said, the Calgary Zoo’s penguins, who hail from several regions of the world, would probably be more than happy to waddle around in the frigid cold open air.

“It’s kind of like you can bundle up your kid, but then there’s a point you’re going to say, ‘I know you’re good, but I’d rather you stay inside now,’ ” Celli told CTVNews.

(Below, see the penguins roaming outside during the summer months at the zoo.)

Luckily, there’s good news for the fresh air-loving members of the Calgary Zoo penguin flock in 2018: A media representative at the zoo tells PEOPLE that although “the king penguins moved indoors when the temps plummeted … the weather has since become much milder … so this is no longer an issue.”

The recent frigid weather also resulted in cancellations of New Year polar bear dips and plunges throughout Canada.

U.K. Judge Says Antifur Lobby Can Protest Outside Canada Goose Store

PETA POWER: Attention all Regent Street shoppers: Get out your earmuffs, as PETA plans to protest loudly outside the new Canada Goose flagship in London.
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals said Sunday that a U.K. High Court judge quadrupled the number of protesters allowed within the outer exclusion zone detailed in an injunction obtained by Canada Goose when it opened the store last month.
The judge also ruled that activists should be permitted to use “loud hailers” between 2 and 8 p.m. The new provisions are effective beginning Tuesday, PETA said.
The High Court ruled that the injunction was obtained by Canada Goose without notice, and unreasonably restricted people’s right to freedom of assembly and expression.
PETA said its lawyer Andrew Locke had argued the injunction severely restricted activists’ ability to inform British shoppers, “95 percent of whom oppose the use of fur, about the company’s continued sale of fur from coyotes,” which PETA argues are treated with cruelty.
A Canada Goose spokesperson could not immediately be reached for comment Sunday.
The Regent Street victory for PETA comes just days after Michael Kors said it would stop using fur as of December 2018. It said the ban would also apply to Jimmy Choo, which Michael Kors Holdings

Canada Goose Gets PETA Protestors on Black Friday

Canada Goose had one of the busiest shopping days of the year interrupted by racous protestors.
Roughly 200-plus animal rights activists led by members of the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals gathered in the late afternoon of Black Friday outside the year-old Canada Goose store in New York’s SoHo neighborhood. The block of Wooster Street where the store is located is home to a number of luxury and fashion brands, including Chanel, Balmain and Ted Baker.
While dozens of shoppers inside the Canada Goose store appeared to be doing little more than waiting out the protestors and a sizable crowd that had gathered to stare, photograph and in a few instances join in, PETA activists chanted, held signs and handed out fliers graphically describing and disparaging the use of down and coyote fur in Canada Goose’s popular winter coats.
A Canada Goose spokeswoman said PETA and other animal rights activist are “grossly misinformed” about the company’s practices around down and fur.
“They ignore the strict government regulation and standards that are in place, as well as our commitment to the responsible use and ethical sourcing of all animal materials in our products,” the spokeswoman said. “While we are unsurprised by their attempt

Governor General of Canada Thinks It Would Be ‘Marvelous’ If Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Got Married

Add another person to the list of those helping Meghan Markle and Prince Harry someday marry!

David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, told ITV that the romance is strengthening ties between the U.K. and Canada, where the American actress films her show Suits and has adopted as a second home.

“I think it would be quite marvellous and I hope it would be quite marvellous for him and obviously it will help to bring us together,” Johnston said. “But, you know, that reflects so many of the people-to-people ties that are so strong. I think about 20% of our citizens would claim British heritage so those ties are very strong.”

Johnston said that he “didn’t know” that Markle, 36, was sitting near him at the opening ceremonies for the Invictus Games in Toronto.

“ was alone but you say, I gather, there was a young lady in the audience who was watching him with great interest,” he said.

RELATED VIDEO: Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s History (So Far)

Markle was all smiles as she cheered on the athletes in the Paralympic-style Invictus Games for wounded service members from around the world. Meanwhile, Harry sat a few rows away next to First Lady Melania Trump whom he met with earlier in the day.

Toronto has become a special place for the couple. Harry made a secret detour from the Caribbean to spend time with Markle in her adopted hometown in December. The royal couple also spent Easter weekend together in Toronto. Harry also called Toronto a “home away from home” when he met with Johnston.

“Despite the distance, the media attention and everything else, there’s a real ease to their relationship,” a source previously told PEOPLE. “It just works. They are deeply happy.”

G-III Licenses PVH for DKNY Men’s Wear Collections in the U.S. and Canada

G-III Apparel Group, Ltd. has entered into a multiyear license agreement with PVH Corp., under which PVH will design and distribute men’s wear for the DKNY brand in the U.S. and Canada. The license agreement includes DKNY Sport for Men, a new category for the brand; men’s sportswear; dress shirts; neckwear, and jeans.
The first collections will launch in spring 2018 and will be sold in department stores. Unlike the women’s DKNY collection, the men’s wear will not be exclusive to Macy’s.
On Monday, G-III’s stock closed at $ 19.97, up 4.4 percent, while PVH’s stock closed at $ 102.1, up 1.7 percent.
G-III acquired Donna Karan International, parent company of DKNY, from LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton in December 2016.
The last time there was a DKNY Men’s collection in the market was for fall 2015. During the three seasons that DKNY was designed by Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne (spring 2016, fall 2016 and spring 2017), the designers focused on women’s apparel.
Morris Goldfarb, chairman and chief executive officer of G-III, said, “This collaboration is an important step in the continued growth of DKNY and a clear example of the go-forward strategy to heighten this iconic brand. PVH is a trusted and powerful partner and we look

Womens Legal Strategies in Canada

Womens Legal Strategies in Canada

Have Canadian women gained from their pursuit of legal remedies to social, political, economic, and cultural inequalities? Is law a fruitful avenue for such struggles? Using liberal feminist, postmodern, critical, race, and queer theory, these essays confront the anti-rights critiques of the legal Left regarding the use of law in general and the Charter in particular. Several chapters explicitly examine the strategic limits and possibilities of the substantive equality rights approaches pursued by LEAF (The Women''s Legal Education and Action Fund). Others focus on legal strategies mobilized in discreet areas of law and public policy by foreign domestic workers and racialized women, lesbians, women seeking reproductive freedom, women in the childcare movement, and anti-violence advocates. Recognizing the diversity of women across class, citizenship, race and ethnicity, sexual identity, culture, and (dis)ability, this collection evaluates the efficacy of the wide range of legal and political strategies women have employed, particularly in this post-Charter era. Women''s Legal Strategies in Canada is the most comprehensive account of these important issues and will surely become the standard work in the field.

The Native Trees of Canada

The Native Trees of Canada

A bold reinterpretation of a century-old bookWhile shopping in the used-book store the Monkey’s Paw in Toronto, Leanne Shapton happened upon a 1956 edition of the government reference book The Native Trees of Canada, originally published in 1917 by the Canadian Department of Northern Affairs and National Resources. Most people might simply view the book as a dry cataloging of a banal subject; Shapton, however, saw beauty in the technical details and was inspired to create her own interpretation of The Native Trees of Canada.Shapton distills each image into its simplest form, using vivid colors in lush ink and house paint. She takes the otherwise complex objects of trees, pinecones, and seeds and strips them down into bold, almost abstract shapes and colors: the water birch is represented as two pulsating red bulbs contrasted against a gray backdrop; the eastern white pine is represented by a close-up of its cone against a radiant summer sky. The author of Was She Pretty? and Important Artifacts and Personal Property from the Collection of Lenore Doolan and Harold Morris, Including Books, Street Fashion, and Jewelry, Shapton puts forth yet another entirely new facet of her creative artistry.

Strellson to Expand Reach in Canada, U.S.

TORONTO, Canada — After opening a North American flagship in Toronto in 2012, Strellson, the upscale Swiss men’s wear brand, is planning a major expansion in Canada and the U.S. in a move designed to feed the Millennial businessman’s hunger for affordable work attire.
Over the next four years, the label, which targets 25- to 40-year-old professionals, will open eight to 10 freestanding stores across Canada, including one in Vancouver this fall, followed by 2016 openings in Ottawa’s Rideau Center and Toronto’s Yorkdale Shopping Center.
Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg and Montreal are also on the rollout list, according to Mark Altow, president of Strellson North America. The stores will be 1,800-2,000 square feet, he said, but the company is not ready to reveal the exact locations.
Strellson’s ongoing retail partnership with Canadian department store Hudson’s Bay Co. will change. The retailer currently operates 19 shops-in-shop for Strellson in its HBC stores, a number that will rise to 25, Altow said.
“Frankly, we were surprised by the numbers we’ve seen within the [Hudson’s] Bay [Co. stores],” said Altow. “A year ago, for example, we opened in the Bay at Yorkdale. We thought we would see a 30 to 40 percent increase in revenue. But in one year,

Prime Minister of Canada

Prime Minister of Canada

Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. The Prime Minister of Canada is the primary Minister of the Crown, chairman of the Cabinet, and thus head of government of Canada. The office is not outlined in any of the documents that constitute the written portion of the constitution of Canada; executive authority is formally vested in the Canadian sovereign and exercised on his or her behalf by the Governor General. The office was initially modelled after the job as it existed in Britain at time of Confederation in 1867. The British prime ministership, although fully developed by 1867, was not formally integrated into the British constitution until 1905-hence, its absence from Constitution Act, 1867.

Whose Canada?

Whose Canada?

Questions and concerns regarding the scope and depth of Canada’s relationship with the United States loom larger than ever since 9/11. In Whose Canada? contributors provide a comprehensive analysis of the legacy of free trade and look at the challenges that deepening bilateral integration presents for Canadian sovereignty and public policy autonomy. They focus on trade and economics, politics, public policy, social policy, labour, health care, education, local government, minority rights, military and security, foreign policy, culture, law, Quebec, environment, energy, and civil society. In response to the question Whose Canada? the authors share their scepticism about corporate Canadas continental agenda and the results of Ottawa’s cozying up to Washington, arguing forcefully that Canada’s future must be shaped by its citizens, not its elites. To this end, they advance a practical vision for revitalizing democracy and upholding the public good. Contributors include Sharryn Aiken (Queen’s), Maude Barlow (Council of Canadians), Dorval Brunelle (UQAM), Duncan Cameron (Ottawa), Bruce Campbell (Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives, CCPA), Tony Clarke (Polaris Institute), Stephen Clarkson (Toronto), Marjorie Griffin Cohen (Simon Fraser), Kathy Corrigan (Canadian Union of Public Employees), Murray Dobbin (CCPA), Jim Grieshaber-Otto (CCPA), Andrew Jackson (Canadian Labour Congress), Marc Lee (CCPA), Benot Lvesque (UQAM), Elizabeth May (Green Party), Garry Neil (International Network for Cultural Diversity), Larry Pratt (Alberta), David Robinson (Canadian Association for University Teachers), Mario Seccareccia (Ottawa), Steven Shrybman (Sack, Goldblatt, & Mitchell), Scott Sinclair (CCPA), Steven Staples (Ceasefire.c

Uniquely Asian, uniquely modern, proudly classical: Ballet Philippines to tour U.S., Canada

2014-09-13-LaRevolucionFilipina.png

As the ballet world struggles to remain relevant and to stem the exodus of an audience that would rather sit at home and watch dance in 90-second spurts on SYTYCD than dress up for the opera house, charges of corruption, racism and sexism have plagued the world’s leading companies.

Meanwhile, the P.R. juggernaut for mega-stars like Russian firebrand Natalia Osipova and Under Armour gladiatrix Misty Copeland is frequent cause for heartburn among artistic directors used to managing their realms in the imperial manner. Copeland is one of very few black ballerinas ever to be cast as Odette-Odile in Swan Lake, fueling the already heated debate over whether greater diversity in the casting of ballet classics is the key to revitalizing the art form, or evidence of deteriorating aesthetic standards.

For several generations, however, the aesthetic boundaries of classical dance have been stretched, with far less uproar, by Asian dancers. Yoko Morishita, Li Cunxin, Tina Santos, Miyako Yoshida, Anna Villadolid, Maniya Barredo, Nicolas Pacaña, Rey Dizon, Ravenna Tucker, Tetsuya Kumakawa, Yuan Yuan Tan, Chi Cao, Hee Seo, and many others of varying complexions and physiques have played white swans, Teutonic princes and Byronic pirate kings without umpires tossing penalty flags.

2014-09-13-TheHomecomingGala.png

One Asian company in particular has been a prolific source of dancers who, for over 45 years, have filtered into leading ballet and modern dance companies around the globe – including American Ballet Theatre, Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater – while it has carved out a unique identity for itself in the intersection between ballet, modern and folk dance.

The company now known as Ballet Philippines sprang from the genius of Alice Reyes – one of two pioneers of modern dance in Asia, the other being Lin Hwai-min, founder of Cloud Gate Dance Theatre. Lin is also an acclaimed novelist, and a student of Chinese opera and the classical court dance of Japan and Korea, while Reyes trained in painting, music, history and foreign policy. Both were mentored by legendary American choreographers – in Reyes’ case: Hanya Holm, Bessie Schoenberg, Alwin Nikolais, Murray Louis, Merce Cunningham. And as Lin did in Taiwan, Reyes cultivated a distinctly Filipino modern dance idiom around indigenous themes and stories, in collaboration with renowned Filipino artists, librettists and composers. In doing so, she created a new outlet not merely for the retelling of historical tales and the celebration of national culture, but also for the expression of political views on issues of contemporary significance.

Her groundbreaking Amada – based on novelist Nick Joaquin’s controversial Summer Solstice, with a score by Lucrecia Kasilag – tackled the twin subjects of women’s emancipation and the native Filipino uprising against colonial Spanish oppression in the mid 19th century. Amada was the first of Reyes’ many works that melded modern dance with traditional Philippine dance, and that collectively helped to define Philippine contemporary dance.

2014-09-13-TheBlueMoonGala.png

From its inception in 1969, however, the Alice Reyes Dance Company – renamed the CCP Dance Company, and later Ballet Philippines – put its dancers through a rigorous ballet training program, overseen by renowned teacher Eddie Elejar (who himself had trained with many of the greats, including Marie Rambert and Olga Preobrajenska of the Russian Imperial Ballet.) It was the only company in Asia that staged the full-length classics in addition to experimental modern work, that commissioned new work from well-known foreign choreographers, and nurtured emerging dancemakers, some of whom would go on to found their own companies around the world. Reyes herself has choreographed full-length classical ballets including Cinderella and Romeo and Juliet, while Ballet Philippines dancers regularly grace the international ballet competition stages: most recently, the luminous Candice Adea and her gallant partner Jean Marc Cordero romped off with the 1st prize in the Senior Women’s Division and the Jury Prize for Best Partnering Technique, respectively, at the 2012 Helsinki International Ballet Competition.

Of course, Miss Reyes’ company does come from the Philippines, is a product of its environment, a well homogenised mixture of Malay and Indian, Chinese, Spanish and modern American – Miss Reyes having studied lengthily with the leading lights of the modern dance movement there. But the influences are seldom overt, never caricatured; a fleeting memory of India in the angle of hand or foot, perhaps, Spain in the movement of an arm, modern America in the cool complexity of some of the choreography and more primitive connections in sometimes barbarically powerful undercurrents of pagan ritual.

Yet all these bits and pieces seem digested and absorbed into something unique, and only in that sense has Miss Reyes in a few years evolved “a national dance form” strongly based on the physical disciplines of classical ballet but entirely uninhibited by any rigid sense of tradition.

– Brian Hoad, dance critic of The Bulletin (Australian national weekly magazine), 1974

2014-09-13-45thSeasonBrochureCover.jpg

For its 45th “Sapphire” anniversary season, current Artistic Director Paul Morales has chosen an eclectic program, which opened in July with Agnes Locsin’s historic La Revolucion Filipina, a controversial and thought-provoking examination of the events around the Philippine revolt against Spain, and of the roles of key revolutionary leaders Apolinario Mabini, Emilio Aguinaldo and Andres Bonifacio, with a score by Ryan Cayabyab and libretto by Dennis Marasigan.

Starting September 19th, Giselle will alternately showcase local stars and Stella Abrera and James Whiteside from American Ballet Theatre, in a restaging by Nonoy Froilan that, according to an enthusiastic critic, “brings sexy back to ballet.”

2014-09-13-Giselle.png

On Sept 26th, 27th and 28th, BP alumni will gather for a series of ‘homecoming’ performances that show off the company’s phenomenal range – from the bravura-packed Don Quixote pas de deux to Norman Walker’s moving and majestic Songs of the Wayfarer, Alice Reyes’ witty Bungkos Suite, George Birkadze’s spectacularly athletic Farandole and his eloquent, yearning R/J, which compresses the tale of Romeo and Juliet into seven minutes.

In February, the company will revive the rock opera Manhid, a cult classic first conceived and staged at the University of the Philippines in 1991 by a group of then little known college students. Among the youthful collaborators were Morales himself, Auraeus Solito – who would later win international acclaim as an indie film director (The Blossoming of Maximo Oliveros, Tuli/Circumcision, Busong/Palawan Fate) – and the band of musicians known as Eraserheads, who would go on to electrify millions and redefine Filipino rock.

2014-09-13-Manhid.png

A political allegory with comic book-style villains and superheroes for the 21st century, Manhid rewrites modern Philippine history, imagining the failure of the 1986 ‘People Power’ revolution – the civil protests that toppled the repressive regime of Ferdinand Marcos. “Manhid, through its theme of apathy, its characters, and story is all about getting back to the root of Filipino-ness, the need for heroism, the power of truth, and most of all, hope, vigilance, and change,” says Morales, who choreographed the original production and for whom this revival closes a poignant circle.

For those fans unable to make it to Manila this season, the company will bring a handful of its signature works to the West Coast of the United States and Canada in October. It has been 16 years since Ballet Philippines has toured the U.S., when they performed at the Kennedy Center, and board president Margie Moran – a former Miss Universe, businesswoman, advocate for social justice, and a tireless promoter of the arts – wants to remind the world of Ballet Philippines’ extraordinary imprint on Asian arts and culture, even as its alumni continue to infiltrate the highest strata of the international dance world: “We ought to celebrate our 45th year, and what better way than to share the gift of dance with Filipinos and Filipinos-at-heart abroad.”

ISIS Launches Canada Unit in Latest Tax Inversion Deal

September X, 2014 — Now that American icon Burger King has agreed to merge with Canadian coffee chain Tim Hortons in a blatant “screw you” to the U.S. Treasury, the trend of moving abroad to save on taxes seems to be catching on. The latest party to take advantage of this is infamous terror group ISIS, which announced through Al Jazeera that it is moving its headquarters to Canada.

“The corporate tax rate in Iraq is just killing us,” said ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. “We can’t function in such an anti-business environment. That’s why we’re so angry all the time. Canada, on the other hand, has a corporate tax rate of only 26.5 percent, which is really awesome. What’s the point of terrorizing and pillaging if we can’t keep most of our spoils?”

This type of ‘tax inversion’ deal has drawn fire in the international community for being unpatriotic but ISIS is undeterred by the criticism. “People don’t understand how burdensome it is to pay taxes twice – once at the corporate level and once at the individual level. Our warriors are being fleeced by the Iraqi government but nobody seems to care. The press never covers that side of the story,” grumbled al-Baghdadi.

Of course, the Canadian government is not very happy about this development and has expressed concern for the safety of its citizens if ISIS moves to its shores.

We asked ISIS for a response to this and their public relations department issued the following statement: “The Canadians have nothing to fear. We feel that they have enough problems already because of their bizarre desire to be French, total lack of ambition, and most of all, their ridiculous accent. We will only be using the Canada office for planning purposes and dissemination of grisly videos to the world but will restrict our terror campaign to the Middle East.”

The U.S. State Department, however, has made it clear that if ISIS moves to Canada, the U.S. government will launch airstrikes against its neighbor — something it has wanted to do for a long time anyway. From a geopolitical standpoint, such posturing could be construed as an act of war but, true to form, the Canadians just said “thank you” and went back to doing nothing. Some analysts even speculate that the Canadians are closet S&M junkies and actually want to be bombed by the U.S.

When asked whether ISIS would change its flag after the move, al-Baghdadi responded: “Does a camel have a hump? Our graphic designers have come up with some really cool ideas, including a maple leaf with bullet holes in it and a moose carrying an AK-47. Please understand that even though we are doing this for tax reasons, we are grateful for Canada’s hospitality and will do everything we can to integrate with the local population there. We also look forward to giving them the divine gift of Sharia law.”

After a pause, the leader of the terror group added: “Of course, if the Canadians disrespect us, we will have no choice but to chop off their heads, but why worry about that now? In any case, they will receive billions of new tax dollars from us so they should be happy about that.” Noting our skepticism, he explained with a grin: “We invested early in Google, made a fricking bundle on it! Not just a pretty face, man…”

So is ISIS just the tip of the Canadian iceberg for such tax inversion deals? Will other terror groups follow and if so, could Canada have finally found a reason for its existence? Who knows but whatever happens, one thing is for certain: if ISIS moves there for a lower tax rate, the Canadian government better not even think about raising it…

The Native Trees of Canada

The Native Trees of Canada

A bold reinterpretation of a century-old book While shopping in the used-book store the Monkey’s Paw in Toronto, Leanne Shapton happened upon a 1956 edition of the government reference book "The Native Trees of Canada," originally published in 1917 by the Canadian Department of Northern Affairs and National Resources. Most people might simply view the book as a dry cataloging of a banal subject; Shapton, however, saw beauty in the technical details and was inspired to create her own interpretation of "The Native Trees of Canada. "Shapton distills each image into its simplest form, using vivid colors in lush ink and house paint. The author of "Was She Pretty?" and "Important Artifacts and Personal Property from the Collection of Lenore Doolan and Harold Morris, Including Books, Street Fashion, and Jewelry," Shapton puts forth yet another entirely new facet of her creative artistry.

The Toll-Free Traveler: The Complete (800) and (888) Directory for Pleasure and Business Travel in the U.S. and Canada

The Toll-Free Traveler: The Complete (800) and (888) Directory for Pleasure and Business Travel in the U.S. and Canada

A handy, indispensable trip-planning directory for people on the move — Contains over 2,500 listings, including airlines, motels and hotels, adventure travel companies, state tourist boards, and foriegn tourist bureaus — Includes useful tips on planning trips at home and abroad Small enough for purse or pocket, The Toll-Free Traveler holds huge amounts of useful information for business and vacation trip planning. In the first section, "Travelers’ Toll-Free Numbers", listings are organized so that travelers can easily find which airlines fly to their destination, which car rental agencies service the airport, and which hotels are the most convenient. The second section, "Trip Planning Tips", offers advice on everything from packing a lightweight wardrobe to the latest requirements for passports and visas, and phone numbers of foreign consulates in the U.S. The authors outline the ten most common mistakes tourists make, single-suitcase travel, and planning for a foreign trip. Betty Martin draws on her background as a pharmacist in the section on health. Charming, old-fashioned sketches illustrate the text. "It’s one of the rarest of things: a how-to-do-it, where-to-find-it, what-you’ll pay guidebook that’s fun to read". — Martin Litton, Sunset magazine
