Mugler by Casey Cadwallader RTW Fall 2018

“For me, it really is a project about starting a new culture around the brand; even the photographs are more about the women than they are the clothes,” Casey Cadwallader mused about his debut fall presentation for Mugler. His approach was focused and smart: to start by designing signatures and pieces that are meant to last and mix in a few shocking pieces. For instance, Cadwallader said he would like to re-create the collection’s cropped, black leather jacket season after season, mentioning, “I think sometimes fashion moves faster than the clients and I’d rather make it so if you see something in a magazine in six months, you might still be able to buy it.”
The same idea of signatures went for great spiral cut jeans, offered in a frayed light wash with matching jacket, clean dark and white washes as well as in green velvet, all of which were high-waisted and shaped to the hip in a very Mugler way. Tailoring also made for an important aspect of the collection, through sharp, rounded wool suiting, styled with sleek, color-blocked cycling leggings and shorts, and was nicely offset by more feminine pieces, like a fluid pink superfine jersey dress.

Manchester By the Sea Director Defends Casey Affleck After Student Journalist Slams the Actor

The Oscar-winning writer/director of Manchester By the Sea is slamming a student journalist from his alma mater for writing an opinion piece highlighting the sexual harassment allegations against the film’s star, Casey Affleck.

Kenneth Lonergan condemned the article in a letter to the editor of The Wesleyan Argus, in which he accused the sophomore journalism student of writing a “tangle of illogic, misinformation, and flat-out slander” against Affleck, who recently won an Oscar for his performance in the film.

Last week, in a piece titled “How Wesleyan Is Complicit in Affleck’s Sexual Misconducted by Endorsing Lonergan ’84,” assistant opinion editor Connor Aberle criticized the college for its “praise” of Lonergan, and called Affleck’s Best Actor win “severely problematic.”

“Wesleyan University cannot insist on claiming credit for Kenneth Lonergan unless they also acknowledge their complicity in the success of a perpetrator of sexual violence,” Aberle wrote. “Lonergan essentially won Affleck his Oscar by handpicking Affleck for his movie.”

Aberle’s comments refer to the two sexual-harassment lawsuits that were filed against Affleck in 2010 by two women who worked with him on the film I’m Still Here. Affleck has denied the allegations, and settled the suits out of court for undisclosed amounts. In the settlement, the actor did not admit any guilt, and he and his accusers are barred from discussing details of the case.

Lonergan responded to Aberle’s article with an opinion piece of his own, titled, “How Connor Aberle and The Argus are Complicit in Slandering Casey Affleck.” The director slammed Aberle’s writing as slander, writing, “Only the author’s presumed youth can possibly excuse his deeply offensive display of ignorance, and warped PC-fueled sense of indignation.”

He added, “He writes as if Casey Affleck were actually guilty of a crime. In fact, it was alleged 7 years ago, in a civil lawsuit for breach of contract, that Casey sexually harassed two women formerly in his employ. Casey denounced the allegations as being totally fabricated. Like most civil suits, this one was settled out of court by mutual consent on undisclosed terms … In other words nothing was proved or disproved. So how does Mr Aberle dare to write as if he knows who was telling the truth and who was not?”

After Affleck won the Oscar, many took to social media to criticize the decision. In a recent interview with the Boston Globe, Affleck — the younger brother of Ben Affleck — addressed the criticism, saying, “There’s really nothing I can do about it. Other than live my life the way I know I live it and speak to what my own values are and how I try to live by them all the time.”

Affleck told the Globe that he is not permitted to speak about the now-settled lawsuits, and said that the people condemning him on social media don’t know the facts of the situation. “I believe that any kind of mistreatment of anyone for any reason is unacceptable and abhorrent,” he added. “Everyone deserves to be treated with respect in the workplace and anywhere else.”

3 Pieces Of Marriage Advice From ‘Marry Me’s’ Casey Wilson And David Caspe

Actress Casey Wilson and her writer-producer husband David Caspe don’t adhere to any kind of “no romance in the workplace” policy. The pair first met in 2010 when Wilson auditioned for (and landed) a role on Caspe’s sitcom “Happy Endings.”

The lovebirds tied the knot in Ojai, California in May 2014. Now they’re working together once again on the new comedy “Marry Me” — created and produced by Caspe and starring Wilson — which is loosely based on their relationship.

In an interview with Glamour, the couple shared some of their best marriage advice so far (like avoid hanger at all costs).

“My dad always said that 90 percent of marital problems could be solved by getting your blood sugar up, and he’s right!” Wilson told Glamour. “So I would say pick a partner who’s forgiving when you have low blood sugar and threaten to drive your car through your shared home.”

Even though they’ve been together for years, it’s clear that Wilson and Caspe are still figuring each other out.

“David’s a doer—he wants to give advice or fix things,” she said. “My girlfriends [let me] turn over every emotional detail for hours. I see them at least twice a week.”

“I’ve had to realize that if she shares a problem, I’m not supposed to fix it,” Caspe added.

And the cutest takeaway from Caspe? If you pick the right person, you can have a BFF and a romantic partner in one super awesome package.

“As a kid, you weirdly picture a girlfriend as separate than a friend,” he said. “But being with Casey, I realized a wife is the ultimate friend, and you also get to make sweet, sweet love together.”

Casey Kasem Found In Washington: Report

Radio legend Casey Kasem, who was reported missing by his daughter, has been located in Washington state, according to an exclusive report in the New York Daily News.

“He’s already been found. He was somewhere in the Pacific Northwest,” Sgt. Mario Toti of the Santa Monica Police Department told the Daily News on Wednesday night.

But his daughter, Kerri, said no one has spoken to her yet.

Read the full report here.

Kasem, 82, has been in declining health.

Earlier this week, his family said he had been suffering from Lewy body dementia, a degenerative disease that has left him unable to speak, by some reports.

His children have complained that Jean Kasem, who he married in 1980, has been keeping them away from him — and on Monday, a judge ordered an investigation into his whereabouts.

Kasem created “American Top 40” in 1970 and hosted it until 1988. He returned in 1998 and hosted until 2004 when Ryan Seacrest took over.

He was also the voice of Shaggy on “Scooby-Doo.”

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Casey Kasem was located in Washington state on Thursday, three days after a Los Angeles judge expressed concerns about the ailing radio host’s whereabouts and safety.

Kasem’s condition was not immediately known, although his children rejoiced after days of uncertainty and said in a statement that locating their father was the first step in bringing him back to the Los Angeles area.

Santa Monica police Sgt. Mario Toti said Kasem was located by the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Department on Wednesday, hours after Kasem’s children filed a missing person’s report. Kasem’s daughter Kerri, who was appointed his temporary conservator at a court hearing on Monday, had to wait for court filings before she was able to file the report.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Daniel S. Murphy ordered adult protective services and court investigators to try to locate Kasem after an attorney for his wife told the court that the former “Top 40” host was no longer in the United States but he did not know where he was.

Kerri Kasem’s attorney Troy Martin said during the hearing that Kasem had been moved to an Indian reservation but was not sure because he had been frequently moved from medical facilities.

“We are grateful to the local authorities for finding my dad,” Kerri Kasem wrote in a statement. “We are one step closer to bringing him home.”

Casey Kasem, 82, has been in poor health in recent years. Kerri Kasem’s court filings state her father is suffering from a form of dementia called Lewy Body Disease that had previously been incorrectly diagnosed as an advanced form of Parkinson’s disease.

Until Monday, Casey Kasem’s wife of 34 years, Jean, had been in control of his medical care and controlled access to him. She has blocked three of Kasem’s children from a previous marriage, including Kerri Kasem, from seeing him in recent months, according to court filings.

Danny Deraney, a spokesman for Kerri Kasem and her siblings, said the family still had “grave concerns” about Casey Kasem’s health.

Jean Kasem’s attorney Craig Marcus argued Monday that his client had the right to move her husband to any facility she saw fit. Murphy said he had the authority to order an investigation into Casey Kasem’s whereabouts and appointed an independent attorney and doctor to evaluate the radio host.

Casey Kasem gained fame with his radio music countdown shows, “American Top 40” and “Casey’s Top 40,” and was the voice of Shaggy in the cartoon “Scooby Doo.”

Murphy scheduled a hearing for June 20 to receive updates on Kasem’s health and wellbeing.
