Gigi Hadid ‘Couldn’t Be More Proud’ of Taylor Swift as Model Dances at Pal’s Concert

Gigi Hadid, a longtime member of Taylor Swift‘s squad, got loose at the singer’s Reputation Stadium Tour concert on Friday.

The 23-year-old supermodel was spotted dancing up a storm at the Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia during Swift’s infectious anthem “Don’t Blame Me.”

Video of the get-down was captured by fans, who shared it on Twitter.

Hadid also shared her own video of some dancing at the concert on her Instagram Stories, this time of a little girl shaking it off to Swift’s hit “Shake It Off.”

She attended the concert with friends Martha Hunt, Ashley Avignone, Kennedy Rayé Black and Este Haim.

“We could not be more proud,” Hadid wrote on Instagram Stories, labeling a backstage photo of the crew.

“If I could find the words, I would explain how happy it makes me to watch you perform @taylorwift,” she wrote on another picture. “I’m so proud to experience this celebration of clarity and strength with you. WHAT A SHOW. You did it again. Love you to the moon.”

Hadid, who is dating Zayn Malik, wasn’t the only one celebrating love at Swift’s concert.

During a meet-and-greet backstage in Swift’s Rep Room, she watched two Swifties get engaged right in front of her eyes.

“They walk into the meet and greet and he says ‘We met 5 years ago at the Red Tour’ and then… #thirdwheel,” the singer, 28, captioned a series of photos that documented the surprise moment.

After pulling off the most epic surprise, the groom-to-be tweeted, “ called me a baller and said that she is never surprised. She also said we were incredible and to go get married!!!! IS THIS REAL LIFE?!?!

Turns out, he had been planning the proposal since June 3 — a total of 41 days!

“We were just two swifties that decided to attend a concert together in 2013,” the groom-to-be revealed on Twitter. “We fell in love with each other and almost five years later, I’m going to ask her to marry me where it all started. She is my BEST FRIEND and the love of my life.”

Olivia Wilde Recalls How Her Water Broke at a N.Y.C. Concert in Honor of Her Son’s 4th Birthday

Olivia Wilde‘s water broke at the most inopportune time when she was pregnant with son Otis Alexander.

In honor of her son’s fourth birthday, the 34-year-old actress revealed that she began going into labor while she was in the middle of enjoying a concert in New York City.

“Four years ago today we were at a @jonbatiste concert at Webster Hall in Manhattan, and this little one decided he wanted to come out and join the dance party,” she wrote on Friday, alongside a picture of her son wearing a birthday crown and holding up 4 fingers.

Wilde and fiancé Jason Sudeikis are also parents to 18-month-old daughter Daisy Josephine.

Continuing, she added, “My water broke somewhere up on the balcony. So next time you’re there, think of us.”

And while the couple could have immediately left to go to the hospital, Wilde says they decided to stay put until the concert ended.

“We obviously stayed til the end of the show. Cuz that’s how we do.) Happy birthday, Otis!!!” she wrote.

The Booksmart director and Chief Brand Activist for True Botanicals recently told PEOPLE that she’s deliberately making a point not to force her son into enjoying gender-specific activities and colors.

“ loves Moana, obviously, and when he thinks about Moana, he thinks of himself as Moana,” explained Wilde. “I love hearing him sing … it’s the best when you can watch them singing in the backseat of your car, and he’s just like, ‘I wish I could be the perfect daughter!’ And he’s just belting it out.”

She continued, “That’s so great because at a certain age he’s going to be like, ‘Well, I can’t, that’s … ‘You know, and he still doesn’t judge things like pink, or dance or gymnastics. These aren’t things that are gender-specific yet.”

“I don’t know why at a certain point we tell them that’s for boys and that’s for girls, but I’m going to do my best to not force that delineation,” Wilde added.

Isaac Mizrahi to Host ‘In Your Face-New York’ at Merkin Concert Hall

SHOW ME THE CITY: Isaac Mizrahi has signed up to host “In Your Face-New York,” a multi-sensory mash-up created by Martin Sage that will be held March 12 at Merkin Concert Hall.
“Only too glad” to have been contacted by Sage, Mizrahi said he loves the associations of the people involved — New Yorker cartoonist Roz Chast, New Yorker writer Patricia Marx and CBS Sunday Morning’s and NPR’s “Wait, Wait Don’t Tell Me” panelist Mo Rocca among them. Other participants in the 80-minute show are perfume nose specialist Ann Gottlieb, “How to Be Black” author Baratunde Thurston, “Shocked: My Mother, Schiaparelli and Me” author Patricia Volk and jazz performer Jay Leonhart and 1-Train Band.
“It’s a smart, smart form of entertainment. A lot of ad-libbing goes on in the room that actually happens with the audience. That’s one of the reasons I agreed to do it. I think that’s what I’m good at — if I’m good at something — being in the room with an audience and being on my feet,” Mizrahi said.

Nicolas Sarkozy, Fashion Crowd Cheer On Carla Bruni at Her L.A. Concert

Los Angeles’ European contingent — led by former French president Nicolas Sarkozy — was out in full force Wednesday night for Carla Bruni’s concert at The Orpheum Theatre downtown in support of her new album, “French Touch.”
“It’s so chilly in Los Angeles today, but you are so warm,” Bruni purred as she sauntered around the stage in all black leather jeans, T-shirt, blazer and ankle boots. (She changed into what looked like a Balmain band jacket after a brief intermission.) The crowd was full of seasoned continental types also donning leather pants and all manner of black clothing, along with recognizable faces such as Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan and his swimsuit designer wife Susan Holmes, actress Lucila Solá, Nathalie Marciano, and two other model contemporaries of Bruni’s, Elaine Irwin and Patricia Velásquez.
Sarkozy emerged from the wings and slid into a seat in the orchestra next to David Foster as the lights were dimming, but he didn’t remain unnoticed because his wife referenced “my man” several times and sang a song she wrote for him, with the chorus “triste garçon,” or “sad boy.”
Bruni’s fourth album, produced by Foster, features a range of English language standards, pop and rock songs

Supportive Ex! Lady Gaga’s Former Fiancé Taylor Kinney Attends Her Chicago Concert — See the Pics

A surprise guest was among the thousands in attendance at Lady Gaga‘s Chicago Wrigley Field concert on Friday.

Fans spotted the “Bad Romance” singer’s ex-fiancé, Taylor Kinney, among the throng of concertgoers. Several attendees posted about the celebrity sighting, with a few people sharing pics of the celebrity posing for snaps with people in the stadium.

“Tay with fans at Lady Gaga’s concert in Chicago last night. #TaylorKinney #LadyGaga,” a twitter user wrote for his post.

While Gaga didn’t address her ex’s attendance at the concert, she did post a pic and caption on Twitter, writing about her historic appearance at the Chicago stadium. “So proud to have been the 1st Woman to headline at Wrigley Field #joanneworldtour wih my manager and friend by my side! We love u Chicago!” Gaga wrote.

The Chicago Fire star had famously proposed to Gaga on Valentine’s Day in 2015, but the couple ended their five-year relationship in July of 2016.

The couple had always seemed supportive of each other’s careers. In 2016, Kinney turned down the opportunity to take the stage with Gaga at the Golden Globes award ceremony to make sure all eyes were on her.

“Do you want to know something wonderful?” she told PEOPLE that year. “They asked him to present tonight, but he said no because he just wanted it to be my night and he wanted to support me. Isn’t that special? I just found that out. I love him so much.”

The 31-year-old is currently on her Joanne world tour — based off of the album of the same name. Joanne reached the top of the U.S. charts in October. Her world tour kicked off in Vancouver on Aug. 1.

A new Netflix documentary on the famed singer titled Gaga: Five Foot Two, is set to premiere at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival before hitting the streaming service this fall.

Police Officer Dances with Children at Manchester Benefit Concert

As Ariana Grande took the stage in Manchester less than two weeks after a terrorist attack outside her concert killed 22 and injured over 100 people, fans in attendance bonded together.

A uniformed officer was taped skipping with children in a circle as others looked on during the concert.

“This is just amazing,” Elliot Wagland, Head of Pictures at the London Evening Standard, captioned the video on Twitter.

The mood at the concert was especially somber after a terrorist attack in London — which left seven dead and 48 injured after three men drove into a crowd and attacked with knives — occurred less than 24 hours ahead of the concert. Despite the attack and the severe threat level, Grande’s manager Scooter Braun and the Greater Manchester Police had stated that the show would go on as a message of resilience in the face of hatred.

Along with Grande, Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Pharrell Williams, Usher, Take That, Coldplay, Niall Horan, Robbie Williams, and Black Eyed Peas performed.

All proceeds from the concert, taking place at the Emirates Old Trafford stadium in the city, are going to the Red Cross’s Manchester Emergency Fund to help victims and families impacted by the attack. Those who were at the original gig were offered free tickets, and additional tickets sold out in just six minutes.

The show is expected to bring in around $ 2.6 million.

Ahead of the concert, Grande visited the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, where many of he young fans are being treated.

Grande announced plans for the show in a special Twitter message just four days after the tragedy.

“Our response to this violence must be to come closer together, to help each other, to love more, to sing louder and to live more kindly and generously than we did before,” she wrote in the statement.

“I’ll be returning to the incredibly brave city of Manchester to spend some time with my fans and to have a benefit concert in honor of and to raise money for the victims and their families.”

The concert will aired live on Freeform at 2 p.m. ET on Sunday. A one-hour highlight special will later air on ABC following the NBA Finals. BBC, the host broadcaster, is producing TV coverage.

Miley Cyrus Sings Moving Rendition Of ‘Inspired’ At Manchester Benefit Concert

Miley Cyrus performed a touching rendition of her new song “Inspired” at the One Love Manchester benefit concert Sunday, dedicating the song to everyone in the crowd and people around the world.

“I’d like to wrap my arms around each and every one of you and tell you thank you from the bottom of our hearts,” she told the crowd. “I am so honored to be at this incredible event surrounded by all you amazing people.”

She continued, “For me, the most important responsibility we have on this entire planet is to take care of one another, and look what we’re doing today and how amazing that is.”

Stars such as Robbie Williams, Niall Horan, Pharrell Williams, Take That, and, of course, Ariana Grande, whose concert was the target of the May attack, also performed at the benefit show. Proceeds from the concert will go to the Red Cross’ We Love Manchester emergency fund.

A terrorist detonated a suicide bomb at Manchester Arena last month, killing 22 others, including children, and injuring more than 100 people.

The show went on as about 160 miles to the south, Londoners reeled from a Saturday night terrorist attack that killed seven people and injured dozens more.

Travis Scott Arrested for Allegedly Inciting Riot at Arkansas Concert

Travis Scott‘s tour stop at the Walmart Ampitheatre in Rogers, Arkansas, allegedly got a bit too rowdy, leading cops to reportedly arrest the rapper following the show.

Keith Foster, Public Information Officer for the Rogers Police Department, confirmed to PEOPLE that Scott (né Jacques Webster) was arrested and charged with inciting a riot, disorderly conduct and endangering the welfare of a minor.

“During the concert, Webster encouraged people to rush the stage and bypass security protocols to ensure concert goer safety,” Foster said. “During the rush to the stage several people were injured, including an employee from the security company hired to help monitor and control the crowd, and a member of the police department. The injured subjects were treated at the AMP by members of the Rogers Fire Department and Mercy Medical.”

According to TMZ, witnesses said that officers took the singer as soon as he left the stage.

The 25-year-old rapper was reportedly released without bail around 11:30 p.m., according to TMZ. Scott will also have to appear for a court date in Arkansas, according to the outlet. Foster could not confirm the exact time that Scott was released but said that it “sounds like he was cited and would have to return for court.”

Fans at the concert shared their experiences on social media, with most mocking the arrest charges.

“Guess the cops can’t handle the rage like some of us can,” one wrote.

Kylie Jenner’s beau previously was arrested for a similar incident in Chicago. He faced disorderly conduct charges following his 2015 performance at Lollapalooza after encouraging concert goers to rush the stage, according to Billboard.

More recently, Scott encouraged a fan to jump from a third story balcony during a concert in New York. Video of the incident went viral on social media, though he did not face legal repercussions for the incident.

Jenner, who is currently at her home in Los Angeles, was not at the concert.

The Lakers star surprised the singer onstage with a special banner in honor of her 16th sold out show at the Staples Center, and it was all caught on the venue’s Instagram:

There was actual singing at the concert, too. Swift spent part of the night rocking out on stage with One Republic frontman Ryan Tedder:

Tedder and Bryant just become the latest superstars to join Swift during her 1989 tour, with other celebs including everyone Seahawks QB Russell Wilson to reality star Kendall Jenner.

We don’t know which famous people will be appearing next, but we’re pretty sure she’s going to run out of Twitter characters thanking everyone one of these days:

Enrique Iglesias Recovering After Fingers Sliced By Drone In Concert Accident

NEW YORK (AP) — Enrique Iglesias was recovering Sunday after some of his fingers were sliced when he grabbed a drone during a concert in Tijuana, Mexico.

A representative for the singer said in a statement to The Associated Press that Iglesias was “semi-treated” after the accident at the side of the stage to stop the bleeding on Saturday night. He was advised to end the show but went on to perform for an additional 30 minutes. “During the show a drone is used to get crowd shots and some nights Enrique grabs the drone to give the audience a Point of View shot. Something went wrong and he had an accident,” the statement read. “He decided to go on and continued playing for 30 minutes while the bleeding continued throughout the show.”

Concertgoers at Plaza de Toros de Playas posted photos on social media of Iglesias, 40, with blood all over his white T-shirt.

“He was rushed to the airport where an ambulance met him there. He was then put on a plane to L.A. to see a specialist,” the statement read.

Iglesias’ show for 12,000 fans is part of his Sex and Love World Tour. His website says his next show is in July in Mexico City.

Music, Performance, and the Realities of Film: Shared Concert Experiences in Screen Fiction

Music, Performance, and the Realities of Film: Shared Concert Experiences in Screen Fiction

This book examines the relationship between narrative film and reality, as seen through the lens of on-screen classical concert performance. By investigating these scenes, wherein the performance of music is foregrounded in the narrative, Winters uncovers how concert performance reflexively articulates music’s importance to the ontology of film. The book asserts that narrative film of a variety of aesthetic approaches and traditions is no mere copy of everyday reality, but constitutes its own filmic reality, and that the music heard in a film’s underscore plays an important role in distinguishing film reality from the everyday. As a result, concert scenes are examined as sites for provocative interactions between these two realities, in which real-world musicians appear in fictional narratives, and an audience s suspension of disbelief is problematised. In blurring the musical experiences of onscreen observers and participants, these concert scenes also allegorize music s role in creating a shared subjectivity between film audience and character, and prompt Winters to propose a radically new vision of music s role in narrative cinema wherein musical underscore becomes part of a shared audio-visual space that may be just as accessible to the characters as the music they encounter in scenes of concert performance.

Cat Stevens Announces First U.S. Concert Tour Since 1976

NEW YORK (AP) — New Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member Cat Stevens is taking the “Peace Train” back on the road.

He announced Monday that he will make a six-city concert tour in North America this December, his first series of shows in the U.S. since 1976. His conversion to Islam followed, putting his music career on hold for a quarter century. Stevens, who also is releasing a blues album on Oct. 27 produced by Rick Rubin and titled “Tell ‘Em I’m Gone,” is using that stage name along with Yusuf, the name he took when he converted. The performer of 1970s-era hits “Wild World,” ”Morning Has Broken” and “Peace Train” has slowly broken back into secular music during the past decade and has made only a handful of semi-public and television appearances in the U.S.

“I’ve been a bit slow in coming around to the United States, but there were so many people asking me to do that, that I just felt an obligation,” Stevens said in a telephone interview from Dubai, where he lives most of the time now.

The title of the “Peace Train … Late Again” tour refers to his unhurried music career. Only six dates are scheduled so far — starting Dec. 1 in Toronto and hitting Boston, New York, Chicago, San Francisco and Los Angeles.

Stevens said he frequently gets feedback on Facebook asking him to perform more and that it makes him feel guilty “because I’m not doing as much as they want me to do. Then again, I’m 66 years old, and I do take things in my stride.”

Stevens, who was inducted into the rock hall this spring in Brooklyn, said he had a lot of hesitation about getting back into the music business.

“That’s something I ran away from a long time ago,” he said. “But that’s not to say the music business is the same as making music. When I finally reconciled my questions about the issue — where it should be in my life — by that time, I had something to say. I wouldn’t be writing songs if I didn’t have something to say.”

Despite the political climate, with the U.S. fighting Islamic State militants in the Middle East, Stevens said he didn’t expect his faith to be an issue when he goes on the road in this country.

“I’m afraid that a lot of things that people believe about Islam are totally different from the religion that most of us recognize,” he said. “I was really fortunate that I got to know Islam before it became a headline.”

Gary Bongiovanni, editor of the concert industry trade publication Pollstar, said he didn’t expect problems, although it would be different if Stevens had spoken out in favor of the Islamic State militants, for instance. He said it looked like a modest tour designed to test the waters and that if Stevens makes clear he’ll be playing his old hits — Stevens said he will — he should get some interest.

Tim McGraw Slaps Fan During Atlanta Concert, Woman Gets Taken Away By Security

Tim McGraw had an unusual, and uncomfortable, encounter with a fan at an Atlanta show last weekend. According to TMZ, while performing his song “Truck Yeah” at Aaron’s Amphitheatre at Lakewood on Sunday, July 13, McGraw slapped a female fan who got a little too handsy and aggressive.

In the video above (TMZ has another version of it as well), McGraw is seen standing in a sea of screaming fans with his ripped jeans, black tank top and signature cowboy hat. At about 44 seconds in, after bending down to sing with the crowd, McGraw tries to keep on walking when something holds him back. A moment later, security rushes over.

According to TMZ, a woman grabbed on to McGraw’s leg and ripped his jeans. In the video, he is visibly upset, gesturing “What the what” with his hands, before carrying on with the show. The woman was indeed taken away by security.

HuffPost has reached out to McGraw’s reps for comment and will update this story once one comes through. The singer hasn’t addressed the incident on Twitter, instead posting the following photo at the end of the night:

McGraw is hardly the first musician whose fans have gotten a little too close for comfort.

Back in February, a fan rushed up the stage as Taylor Swift performed in London’s O2 Arena. He was escorted off by security. Beyonce was pulled off stage by an overly excited fan in September 2013, during a concert in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Wiz Khalifa had a similar encounter in October 2013, when a shirtless man got up on stage while he performed in Florida. The man was immediately tackled by security.

Rick Ross Arrested After Concert In North Carolina

GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) — Rapper Rick Ross has been released after his arrest following a North Carolina concert.

Greensboro Police Department spokeswoman Susan Danielsen says that Ross was taken into custody Friday night after the SuperJam concert. She says a court had issued an order for his arrest because he failed to appear in court on a previous misdemeanor marijuana charge. The rapper, whose real name is William L. Roberts, was taken into custody after his performance. Danielsen says he was released on $ 1,000 bond.

Messages seeking comment weren’t immediately returned by a spokesman for Universal Music Group or executives at a booking agency that works with Ross.

Concert Etiquette: Get With the Program

2014-06-25-HPCaramoor_spanish_courtyard.png
The Venetian Theatre at Caramoor, Katonah, New York (credit: Gabe Palacio)

I’d rather hear music than the person in front of me whispering. This is what I was thinking at my last concert when, plain and simply, they wouldn’t shut up.

Has etiquette gone out the window completely?

Stop kicking the seat in front of you, put down your cellphone and listen up. Let’s talk.

Rudeness at live performances is disruptive not only to the performers but to the audience. A philharmonic musician I know mentioned that at one concert a colleague stopped cold in the middle of a complicated composition when a cellphone fired off in the audience. (Hello?! Don’t we know by now to turn off our electronic devices before a performance? It seems obvious, but clearly some patrons of the arts have still not read the memo.)

I recently attended a senior-thesis violin recital at Juilliard, the prestigious arts conservatory in New York City. The talent before us was brilliant. The audience behavior around me was appalling.

Everything below happened during this virtuoso performance. Most of the points seem obvious, and one would think that grownups would know better, but the fact that they have good taste in music doesn’t mean they have the manners to match.

So take a moment to bone up on concert etiquette. (Feel free to share this list with others.)

  1. Get to the venue on time. Nothing is more annoying than someone climbing over you to get to his or her seat.
  2. This bears repetition: Don’t be the only one in the audience who disregarded the announcement requesting that you “please turn off all electronic devices for the duration of the concert.”
  3. Take off the damn hat.
  4. Enjoy the music, but don’t bob your head so much that it’s a distraction to the person behind you.
  5. Do not bring children under 8 years old to concerts after 8 p.m. (Do the math.)
  6. If you’ve got to cough or sneeze, do not grasp water bottles so hard that the plastic crinkles. Experienced concertgoers try to suppress their cough or sneeze until a loud passage or quietly do it into a handkerchief.
  7. Please wait until a break in the performance to unwrap a throat lozenge. (At a recent performance of the Tony Award-winning show All the Way with Bryan Cranston from Breaking Bad, we had orchestra seats, and someone to my left started to unwrap a throat lozenge. They thought that by unwrapping it slowly, no one would hear it. It was like water torture.) Unwrap lozenges before the performance (perhaps right after you turn off your cellphone).
  8. Do not talk or whisper to your neighbor. It’s distracting to the performer and to people seated near you. (Again, at the Juilliard recital, a parent in front of me was bent over and whispering to her kid during the entire concert.)
  9. Hold your applause. Look at the program! If you see that there are numerous movements in a musical piece, don’t clap until the very end. Your best bet: Just clap when the rest of the audience starts clapping.
  10. Take advantage of intermission. Unwrap another lozenge, take a swig of water, or go out and people-watch in the lobby.
  11. Holding up a lighter (or the image of a flickering candle on your iPhone) after a classical performance is just plain wrong. Save this for rock concerts.
  12. Speaking of which, unless you are at a rock concert and no one notices (or cares), wait until the end before getting up to leave.

At a Patti LuPone concert at the Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts, two audience members got up toward the end of her finale. Patti abruptly stopped singing and said, “I hope you get to your car in time.” The audience laughed. A spotlight shined on the couple as they slithered out of the concert tent. Brava, Patti! Love your moxie!

Yes, audiences in the 19th century may have been equally rude by throwing tomatoes, but it’s 2014, people. Surely we have learned some manners in the past century.

Ladies and gentlemen (which I believe you are), behave. Sit back and enjoy the show so that others can do the same. After all, as an audience, you are collectively sharing a magical moment that will be gone forever once the last note or word is played, sung or spoken. This is the beauty of live performances. Don’t wreck it with slack etiquette.

Obamas Attend Christmas Benefit Concert For Children’s National Health System

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Obamas got into the holiday spirit Sunday evening with a little help from Hugh Jackman, Sheryl Crow and Janelle Monae.

President Barack Obama and his family attended the 32nd annual “Christmas in Washington” concert, a benefit for the Children’s National Health System. After an evening of Christmas carols at the National Building Museum, the president said Americans should remember Jesus Christ’s lessons of charity and compassion.

“Through his example, he taught us that we should love the Lord, love our neighbors, as we love ourselves. It’s a teaching that has endured for generations. And today, it lies at the heart of my faith and that of millions of Americans, and billions around the globe,” Obama said.

“No matter who we are, or where we come from, or how we worship, it’s a message of hope and devotion that can unite all of us this holiday season,” he added.

Before the concert began, the president, his wife, Michelle, and daughters, Sasha and Malia, helped collect presents for patients at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington. Mrs. Obama’s mother, Marian Robinson, watched from nearby.

The Obamas met five of the hospital’s young patients, who were dressed as elves.

“Hey, you guys, you going to help us?” Mrs. Obama asked.

“Good job, elves,” the president said. “Nice job.”

Jackman, who hosted the concert, also urged the audience to remember those less fortunate.

“It is the season of compassion. Let us not forget those who are down and out, who are suffering and who have little hope: the Washington Redskins fans,” Jackman said. “I can say it, I’m a Giants fan.”

The Redskins lost to the Atlanta Falcons earlier Sunday and fell to 3-11 for the season. The New York Giants also lost, though, getting shut out by the Seattle Seahawks as their record fell to 5-9.

Other performers at the concert included the Backstreet Boys, Anna Kendrick and Pat Monahan, the singer from the band Train. Retired NBA star Charles Barkley also was on hand to talk about programs at Children’s National.

The concert will be broadcast Friday evening on TNT.
