Mindy Kaling Says Yes To Dinner Date With Sen. Cory Booker After ‘Dissing Newark’

This is what romance looks like in the 21st century ― and we’re all for it.

It all began with a diss on Hulu’s “The Mindy Project” and ended with Mindy Kaling agreeing to go on a date with New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker

On Tuesday’s episode, Kaling’s character Dr. Mindy Lahiri joked that she couldn’t believe Booker showed up to her party:

“Cory Booker? I can’t believe he came. I guess anything to get out of Newark, huh?”

On Thursday, Booker tweeted at Kaling that he heard her “Mindy Project” character had dissed Newark and posted a link to a Vogue article on why it’s worth visiting. The senator made sure to keep the tweet light-hearted and was quite flirty with his use of emojis ― not to mention the fact he added “(I still ❤️ U”).

Kaling responded by assuring Booker that anything her character dislikes is actually cool:

And then something magical and rom-com worthy happened. He asked her out! On Twitter!

And. Then. She. Said. Yes.

Are you swooning yet?

As this was unfolding in real time PATH chimed in with its train schedule to ensure that this date actually happens.

So far no word on when the date will happen, but we wish them all the best.

Lea Michele Remembers Cory Monteith On What Would Have Been His 33rd Birthday

Cory Monteith may be gone, but he’s not forgotten, not by Lea Michele, who is keeping his memory alive on what would have been his 33rd birthday.

On Monday, the former “Glee” actress shared a photo of Monteith sitting behind a drum kit:

Monteith was found dead in a Vancouver hotel room on July 13, 2013, after he overdosed on a toxic mix of heroin and alcohol. The actor, who was 31 at the time, had been dating Michele for more than a year.

Lea Michele Releases Song, ‘You’re Mine,’ For Cory Monteith (AUDIO)

Lea Michele has released a moving new song dedicated to her late boyfriend, Cory Monteith.

The “Glee” star said the song had been one of Monteith’s favorites before his death last year of a drug overdose at the age of 31.

On it, Michele sings:

And I told you all my dreams and fears
And you looked at me and your eyes filled with tears
And you said those three words I’d been waiting for
You became a part of me, yeah

“It makes me so happy, this song. It makes me think so much of Cory,” she told Elle in November. “It was ours. When I think of him, I play this.”

The song will be featured on Michele’s new album, “Louder,” which drops on March 4. But on Monday, she took to Twitter to tell fans they could listen to it now.

“Louder” also contains a song called “Cannonball” that Michele said helped her cope with Monteith’s death, MTV News reported last December. Another tune, “If You Say So,” refers to the last words she heard from him.

“It’s a very personal and it’s a very intense song for me,” she told MTV News.

Ironically, “You’re Mine” almost didn’t make the album. Michele told Elle that when the label asked if she wanted to add anything else to the album, she realized she had to include the song.

“I was like, ‘I might regret it if I don’t,'” she said.

Lea Michele Reveals Kate Hudson Helped Her Heal After Cory Monteith’s Death

Lea Michele is opening up about her boyfriend Cory Monteith’s death in the new issue of Elle magazine.

The “Glee” star, 27, covers the December issue and reveals that her co-star Kate Hudson took her in and helped her cope with Monteith’s death. Michele admits that Hudson was one of the first people she called upon hearing the tragic news, explaining, “I called her and said, ‘I don’t know where I’m going to go because my house is swarmed [with reporters].’ She was like, ‘Oh, you’re going to stay at my house.’ Like it was nothing.”

And Hudson didn’t just open her doors to Michele.

“She let my family stay there, and any of my friends. She made sure that in the refrigerator were my favorite juices,” Michele tells Elle. “I’ll never really be able to thank her, truly, for what she did for me.”

Monteith died in July at the age of 31 from a “mixed drug toxicity” consisting of heroin and alcohol and Michele has been slowly adjusting to a life without him ever since.

“It’s very hard,” she admits, continuing, “You have to be very strong to come out of this alive, but I think by doing the best for myself, by showing that you don’t have to lose yourself, maybe someone else will feel some sort of strength or comfort.”

In the interview, Michele also admits that she and Monteith began dating during the first season of “Glee,” but that “no one really caught on.” In early 2012, they made it official: “‘You wanna do this?'” Michele recalled them asking themselves. “We knew.”

“I know that Cory would want nothing more than for me to take this situation and use it to help people,” Michele adds, “I don’t know if I will. I don’t know how.”
