We Can’t Get Enough Of Chrissy Teigen And John Legend’s Text Convos

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend have been serving up relationship goals for some time now.

Yes, they’re super talented. And really, really good-looking:

A post shared by chrissy teigen (@chrissyteigen) on

But more than that, their relationship dynamic and banter are pure entertainment. Below, a look back at some of Chrissy and John’s most hilarious text exchanges:

When Chrissy couldn’t find her mouthguard:

When she wrote some dope lyrics for John:

When she had a craving for grilled cheese that just couldn’t wait:

When John supported her through a very trying time:

When she made some bomb mac and cheese:

When she shared this kernel of marriage wisdom:

When they tried to get the internet working again by any means necessary:

When she roasted the sh*t out of him:

When she drunk texted him about the broken cable/internet situation:

When John dropped an undeniable truth:

When their fur baby Puddy wasn’t feeling well:

When Chrissy was all of us:

Keep doing you.

The Duchess Of Cambridge Can’t Get Enough Of These Classic White Sneakers

The former Kate Middleton is our fashion role model for high-class, fancy affairs. But it turns out the Duchess of Cambridge also has a style tip for those of us with more casual wardrobes.

Over the last few months, she’s sported a particular sneaker time and time again: It’s the cotu classic sneaker from Italian brand Superga, and it’s pretty darn adorable in action.

At $ 65, the shoe is fairly well-priced, and reviewers on Zappos say they’re also comfortable.

If they aren’t your cup of tea, try some of our other favorite sneakers on for size.

Fox News Mulls Over Whether Wonder Woman Is ‘American’ Enough

As “Wonder Woman” garners stellar ratings and remains on track for a record-breaking opening weekend, a Fox News panel is conducting a deep dive into a critical matter: Is the Amazonian princess American enough?

Fox host Neil Cavuto noted on Friday to guest Dion Baia that “some” have been taking issue with the film’s alleged lack of patriotism — chiefly, that the superhero’s costume color scheme is too un-American.

“Some are calling it less American, Dion, because, well, her outfit isn’t red, white, and blue, and, in order to appeal for foreign audiences, very little reference to America at all,” said the “Your World With Neil Cavuto” host.

“I think, nowadays, sadly, money trumps patriotism,” Baia replied. “Especially, recently, I personally feel like we’re not really very patriotic, the country, in a certain sense. And they want these movies to succeed internationally, you know, so they’re going to dial back.”

Fellow guest Mike Gunzelman lamented that he feels “it’s cool to hate America these days.”

Baia, for his part, said his comments have been misconstrued. “Taken outta context much?” he tweeted Saturday, referencing an Entertainment Weekly article that characterized him as being “upset” with the movie (probably because he used the word “sadly.”)

He maintained he was simply explaining why he believes the movie’s American patriotism was “toned down.”

But in any case, criticism of Gadot’s costume as not looking “American” is a little weak.

A red, blue and gold color combination is still fairly reminiscent of the American flag. Gold is often incorporated into patriotic decorations and accessories, and sometimes used in place of white.

The original comic and Lynda Carter’s iconic Wonder Woman costume from the 1970s TV series both included more gold than white.

Yes, Gadot’s Wonder Woman is not wearing a bottom piece adorned with little white stars, but she is wearing a top with an emblem of an eagle, which is, you know, a major symbol for the United States.

Plus, the actual plot of the movie involves Wonder Woman teaming up with an American pilot to stop German forces, which makes equating it with “hating America” a bit of a stretch.

Whatever. There have been worse takes on the movie.

Ivanka Trump Prohibited Her Brand From Using Her Face. It’s Not Enough, Says An Ethics Expert.

Ivanka Trump has prohibited her eponymous fashion label from using her likeness in campaigns and social media, in yet another superficial attempt to distance herself from her business. A spokeswoman for the Ivanka Trump brand confirmed Tuesday that employees have begun working with stores to remove any imagery featuring the president’s daughter.

The news follows the revelation that Trump is getting an office in the White House as well as security clearance and government-issued “communications devices.” Though she reportedly won’t hold an official title or relieve a salary, the move signals a larger role for Ivanka in President Donald Trump’s administration, making her essentially a full-time staffer in “everything but name,” according to Politico.

To the extent such a thing is possible, the news elevates concerns over the Trump family’s business conflicts of interest. If removing her photo from Ivanka Trump products and initiatives is supposed to ease those concerns, it doesn’t at all, according to Noah Bookbinder, director of the group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington.

“It’s not remotely enough,” Bookbinder told The Huffington Post. “First of all, everybody knows who she is and that the brand is connected to her ―  it has her name on it ― and what she’s doing now. The fact that they are not using her likeness in promoting it doesn’t really change the association that literally everybody will have with it.”

Conflicts regarding Ivanka Trump’s brand began even before her father’s inauguration. In November, media outlets received a “style alert” touting the $ 10,800 bracelet Trump wore from her own collection while appearing on “60 Minutes.” Following massive backlash, the brand promised “new policies and procedures” would be put in place.

But last week, a San Francisco-based clothing company filed a class-action lawsuit accusing Ivanka Trump’s company of unfair competition “by exploiting the power and prestige of the White House.” The lawsuit notes Trump’s brand sales surged in February after her father’s administration used its platform defend the brand on Twitter that month and promote it on Fox News. (”Go buy it today, everybody,” White House advisor Kellyanne Conway famously told viewers.)

But as Bookbinder pointed out, profits are now far from the only thing at play.

“There is also just a tremendous possibility for conflict of interest, where she could work on issues that effect countries where her brand does business, or effect tax issues or leave issues, anything that may effect her company and the bottom line of it in ways that she knows, and all of that is continuing to be true.”

Trump reportedly stepped down from her positions at her fashion brand and the Trump Organization in January, saying in a Facebook post that she would “no longer be involved with the management or operations” in either. She announced she was passing management of the fashion brand to current president Abigail Klem.

Trump still owns her brand, though she has placed it in a trust, a spokeswoman for the brand said Tuesday. The New York Times reports she eschewed a blind trust for one run by relatives of her husband, who is a White House senior advisor, and that she still “wields power” over the company.

So, what does Bookbinder suggest Trump do to eliminate conflicts of interest?

“She basically has two choices,” he said. One is that she cut off her business interests and “sell the business, in which case there is no issue of her profiting either based on conflict on the work she’s doing or based on who she is as a White House official and daughter of the president.”

The other, less likely option is declining a White House position altogether.

“She really can’t do both,” Bookbinder said. “She can’t continue to own and profit from her business and also be an active part of her father’s White House.”

“Just like her father should sell his businesses, she should sell hers,” he added.

Only time will tell if Trump makes a move to remove herself completely. In the meantime, prepare to see less of her face in stores and likely more of her face on television.

‘Get Out’ Star Daniel Kaluuya: I’m ‘Too Black’ For Britain, ‘Not Black Enough’ For America

Actor Daniel Kaluuya doesn’t think he should have to prove his blackness.

In a new interview with GQ magazine, the “Get Out” star shared his thoughts on Samuel L. Jackson’s recent critique that black British actors may not be able to relate to black Americans. For Kaluuya, Jackson’s comments reflect his personal experiences of being ostracized in different settings for being dark-skinned.

“When I’m around black people I’m made to feel ‘other’ because I’m dark-skinned,” he said. “I’ve had to wrestle with that, with people going ‘You’re too black.’ Then I come to America and they say, ‘You’re not black enough.’ I go to Uganda, I can’t speak the language. In India, I’m black. In the black community, I’m dark-skinned. In America, I’m British.”

The actor went on to add that similar to black Americans’ vast range of social issues, the London’s black community has confronted oppression, prejudice, and police brutality.

Since Jackson’s much-discussed statements ― which drew criticism from British actor John Boyega ― made headlines last week, Jackson later told the Associated Press that his comments were not necessarily  a “slam” towards the performers, but rather an assessment about how “Hollywood works in an interesting sort of way sometimes.”

Despite Jackson’s commentary, Kaluuya says it’s not his intent to be a “culture vulture “ of the black American experience, but rather focus on telling black stories.

“This is the frustrating thing, in order to prove that I can play this role, I have to open up about the trauma that I’ve experienced as a black person,” he said. “I have to show off my struggle so that people accept that I’m black. No matter that every single room I go to I’m usually the darkest person there…I kind of resent that mentality. I’m just an individual.”

Why Having 100 Items Of Clothing In Your Closet Is ‘Not Enough’

Getting dressed is the worst, but since it’s not socially acceptable to walk around without pants all the time, it’s a necessary evil.

In a fun study done by Closetmaid, 1,000 U.S. women were surveyed on their closets, and apparently the average American woman has roughly 103 items of clothing.

Despite this, it never feels like what we have is cutting it. We stand in front of the mirror, murmuring to ourselves how the lighting at Loft was slimming and we should just never go out in public again.

Now, 103 items is sort of a lot, but let’s be real: We probably try on half of those things the second we get invited to a party. It’s why we have those heaping piles of worn-once-or-twice sweaters and disposable dresses from Forever 21 on the chair in our bedrooms. It’s also why, at the end of all the trying-things-on-and-then-abandoning-them, 61 percent of women just go out and buy something new.

So, if your skin is red and raw from all the sweat and tears exhausted from simply trying to make yourself look presentable, don’t fret! You’re not alone.

We get your clothes woes — check out the rest of the stats here:

If You Look Hard Enough, Vaginas Are Everywhere

“I think that all pussies are perfect, in being un-perfect… My pussy, your pussy, everybody’s pussy is f**king perfect.”

That’s how Chelsea Jones responded when Bullett Media asked her to describe the perfect pussy. Amen, sister.

Jones and her friend Eva Sealove aren’t usually asked by media outlets to describe their idea of the “perfect pussy” — well, until recently. About nine months ago, the two L.A. natives created an Instagram account called “Look At This Pusssy,” which curates images of objects and sceneries that look like vaginas.

In less than a year, the account has accumulated over 5,500 followers. Censoring anatomy can have a stigmatizing effect, as if something must be hidden because of the way it looks. From t-shirts to different kinds of food and even tree trunks, the images on Jones’ and Sealove’s Instagram account prove that vaginas can be found anywhere and everywhere.

Jaunty af literally all day @cjkut

A photo posted by look at this pussy (@look_at_this_pusssy) on

Although the images may be a bit NSFW, the two say they created the account to remind everyone that vaginas come in all shapes, sizes and colors. And each vagina is perfect.

By posting different images of objects that look like vaginas, Sealove and Jones hope to normalize attitudes towards vaginas and all the shapes and sizes they come in. The two post images they’ve taken and also accept submissions.

“I wanted to create a space where people can feel like ‘it’s normal to feel like this’ or ‘it’s normal that I look like this,'” Jones told Bullett. “Everything is a pussy and everything about a pussy is beautiful. I don’t want anyone to ever feel shame about that and this is sort of a way for us to drive home that message, and be funny with it too.”

Jones said that she and Sealove want to empower women with “Look At This Pusssy,” and they love that some of their followers are teenage girls. “To me, I don’t think there’s anything vulgar about our account because our message is anti-shame and acceptance of your own body,” Sealove said. “It makes me really emotional to see girls at that age respond to our content. It’s really hopeful to me, because of how hard it is to grow up as a female and come into your own.”

Take a look at a few (semi-NSFW) images from Sealove’s and Jones’ “Look At This Pusssy” account that look very similar to vaginas.

A Great Cast Is Not Enough To Make “Ray Donovan” a Hit

TV Review Jackie K Cooper
“Ray Donovan” (SHOWTIME)

“Ray Donovan” returns to SHOWTIME for its second season and all of the cast returns. The show is headed up by Liev Shreiber in the title role. Jon Voight is back as Ray’s father and Paula Malcomson plays his wife, Abby. Yes, the gang is all here and they are all perfectly cast.

The main question about this show is why should anyone invest their time to watch it. As stated the cast play their parts to perfection but what dull roles they are. Ray is a Hollywood fixer. So what. So far what he fixes is only mildly interesting. He also has some marital problems, but there are fifty or more shows with couples having problems. And he has problems with his father; this is a staple of comedy and drama in just about every other TV show.

Something of importance needs to happen and happen quickly. Just facing problems is one thing, getting involved in something compelling is another. In the first two episodes I previewed of this season the biggest crisis is in getting Ezra Goldman’s medical center for his wife built. That’s a crisis? But at least it did have enough clout to bring Ann-Margaret on the scene as a guest star – and that is definitely a plus.

The look of “Ray Donovan” is good; the style of “Ray Donovan” is good. It has all the window dressing but just not enough impact. Maybe some theme will develop over the season and perhaps one or more of the characters will get caught up in something that demands our attention. I hope so, I really do.

Still it must be recognized the attention span of most viewers is miniscule. If they are not immediately grabbed by what is being shown they will turn that channel in a flash. The buzz about “Ray Donovan” the first season was hot. This year it is so what. This is what happens with second seasons. You have to present something twice as interesting as what you showed in the first season.

So here’s hoping there are more interesting chapters in this story coming down the pike because the first two episodes were snoozers.

“Ray Donovan” airs on SHOWTIME, Sunday nights at 9.

Touching Mirror Experiment Proves That ‘You’re Enough Just The Way You Are’

Mirrors are devious, lying fixtures that should never be trusted to give an honest opinion.

That’s the general takeaway from “What Do Strangers Think Of You?“, a BuzzFeed video that set individuals in front of a mirror, then asked them to honestly describe themselves. At the same time, and unbeknownst to them, strangers in another room were asked to offer their opinions of the individual.

As is often the case, the people judging themselves were their harshest critics. Even more surprising: What they described as a “flaw” either went unnoticed by the stranger, or was perceived as a strength.

The video is reminiscent of the Dove’s “Real Beauty Sketches” campaign, which used a similar tactic to promote the tagline, “You are more beautiful than you think.”

Watch the uplifting video, above.

Never Enough

The finish line is imminent. Don’t give up now! You have planted the right seeds and now you are waiting for the harvest. Now all there is left to do is wait… that’s the most difficult part.

While waiting for your plans to come to fruition, it is never enough to simply speak about your dreams, you must actively pursue them. So many people have great ideas and visions that the world may never behold because they fail to cultivate their dreams by engaging in the necessary tasks to achieve their goals. No good thing in life comes without work and sacrifice, so dormant goals are just that — an imaginary reality.

Once you invest time and energy into your dreams by praying or meditating, reaching out to individuals who have attained success in the area of your desire, and becoming a scholar of your specific area of interest, you will begin to breathe life into your dreams. As soon as you begin to see the manifestation of your desires come to pass, you will want to do it again, and again, and again.

As human beings, we are created to be innovators. Realizing a dream or accomplishing a goal should not be a one-time occurrence in life. Achieving your goals should become so addictive that you cannot and will not rest until you have achieved one goal, then the next, and then the next, finally accomplishing all of your goals, one by one.

Become inspired by life. Take time to live in the moment and enjoy the beauty of a sunrise or sunset. Express appreciation for a memorable conversation with an old friend or regain strength and motivation that you are indeed on the right track by sharing your innermost dreams and desires with your family. Your life experiences breed inspiration. Inspiration encourages you to dream. Dreams inspire action. Action produces accomplished goals.

What is currently inspiring you? Open yourself up to receive the message from the inspiration. That message or lesson could be exactly what you have been searching for to unlock the inspiration for your dreams. Dream big! Respect the process and enjoy the journey of pursuing your goals and aspirations. Remember it is never enough to only dream — you must actively commit to make those dreams a reality.

Nicole Holofcener On ‘Enough Said,’ Her Golden Globe Snub And The TV Show She’d Most Like To Direct

Nicole Holofcener wrote and directed one of the year’s most-loved sleeper hits: “Enough Said,” the romantic-comedy starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus and James Gandolfini as divorcees who spark an unexpected connection. Holofcener’s naturalistic writing style and grounded character dramedies have charmed audiences on the big screen for the better part of two decades, first with “Walking and Talking,” and later with movies like “Friends with Money” and “Please Give.” She’s also directed episodes of some of the decade’s best television series: “Sex and the City,” “Gilmore Girls,” “Six Feet Under,” “Parks and Recreation” and “Enlightened,” among others.

Last year, however, she was the subject of much acclaim. Reviewing “Enough Said,” Slate’s Dana Stevens praised Holofcener’s “admirable delicacy” and “razor-sharp dialogue.” Stephanie Zacharek of the Village Voice applauded her “knack for observing not just the way people respond to extreme situations, but what they do in everyday ones.” Along the way, the writer/director collected Best Screenplay nods at the Satellite Awards and the Independent Spirit Awards. If things go our way, she’ll earn an Oscar nomination for the movie come Jan. 16. In the meantime, though, we snagged a few minutes with Holofcener on the phone, where she was candid about being snubbed for the Golden Globe, the television show she’d most love to direct and what it was like to work with Louis-Dreyfus and Gandolfini.

Did you have Julia Louis-Dreyfus and James Gandolfini in mind while writing the script? Was anyone else considered for these roles?
I did not have them in mind. I did have a couple of other actors in mind that I won’t mention at the moment because it would be kind of uncouth. I had a general idea of who I would like and who would be great, but you never know who’ll be interested or available. But it does help, as a writer, to put faces on characters. It helps me to write.

As an actress, Julia Louis-Dreyfus is a master of improv. Was there an improv component to the project?
We stuck to the script. It’s funny, I wouldn’t say so much improv as ad-libbing. I don’t know if there’s a big difference, but it’s not like they would improvise and take the scene somewhere different. It’s more like they added a line or two, or changed a line and made it funnier, or added a line at the end of the scene where they thought maybe I cut. It was more like that, and it was very useful. I kept so much of their ad-libs; they’re hilarious and smart and so appropriate for their characters. It was great.

Can you offer an example of a scene that was improved by ad-libbing?
Yeah, Julia gets out of the car, she says, “I like your paddles.” He says, “I like your ass.” And that was Jim. That’s not in the script, and he said that in rehearsal, and I said, “Oh, you’ve got to say that when we shoot.” And he’s like, “No, Albert would never say that.” And there comes a point where it’s like, yeah, Albert might not have said it, but it makes Albert so much sexier and more funny that I want him to say that. I want him to be able to do that. It’s wonderful, right? I mean, what a great way to end the scene — it adds so much.

Right, an added punch.
And it makes him seem sexier because he has the guts to say that.

I know you cast Catherine Keener in basically every movie you direct. Do you think of her as a muse? What’s your gravitation toward her?
My gravitation toward her is based on her talent and our comfort level. I think she’s an extraordinary actor. She has been my muse. I didn’t write [Keener’s “Enough Said” character] Marianne with her in my mind, at least not consciously — but I have written parts just for her, and so in that respect she’s a huge inspiration. She’s fun, she’s smart, she makes my scripts better. Let’s go with that, right?

Did you get to talk to Julia after the announcement of her Golden Globe nomination?
No. Well, I texted her because I never know where the hell she is. I texted her, and then she texted me back. I texted her congratulations, and she texted me, “I hope you’re all right,” because I didn’t get a nomination.

And are you all right?
Well, I was very disappointed, actually. Of course, anybody who says they’re not is lying. As much as I was disappointed for the film and for myself, but I was also disappointed because I really wanted to go and be with her and have fun doing that together. So I don’t think that’s going to happen.

So you don’t see yourself getting invited as being associated with her nomination?
I don’t think so. And I don’t think I’d feel comfortable going since I wasn’t nominated or the movie wasn’t. I’m very happy she was. I’d be heartbroken if she wasn’t; she deserves every acknowledgement she gets.

You’ve directed some of the biggest TV shows of the past decade. What one show would you love to direct right now?
Oh gee, what’s on the air now? I’ve stopped watching anything recently. I read about that show “Getting On,” I think it’s called.

Yeah, with Laurie Metcalf?
Exactly. I wanted a job on that so badly, and I just found out it’s not picked up, I think. Maybe I should figure that out.

It’s on the air now. You should watch it, it’s great.
Yeah, I’m planning on watching the whole thing. It’s so up my alley that when I read about it, I was like, “I want to do one of those!”

It totally seems like your directing style. Would you want to do “Veep”?
Absolutely, I do. I kind of feel like that’s a machine that’s going so well. I don’t know who directs all the different ones, but it’s not as much in my style, obviously. I don’t know, it would be a blast, it really would. But I don’t know, it’s in Washington, and they’ve kind of got their directors set, so it’s not something I’m hoping to — I don’t know how to put it.

Do you have a classic episode of TV or a TV show as a whole that you look back and wish you had been a part of?
Well, yeah, I wish I had directed “The Sopranos.” Watching that, I was like, “Ugh, wish I could have gotten in there, that would have been a blast.” That didn’t happen. I grew up watching “I Love Lucy” obsessively, but I’d be dead by now if I had directed one of those.

You have a “special thanks” credit on “Where the Wild Things Are.” Did your involvement with that film lead you to meet James Gandolfini?
Oh no, I actually just wrote and directed “Where the Wild Things Are” and so they felt that had to put my name there. [Laughs] No, I did not meet Jim through [director Spike Jonze], but I watched several cuts of that movie and gave feedback and helped him try to fix some dialogue. That was the “thank you.” I met Jim in a very traditional way: I actually sent him a script of mine a few years ago and wanted to meet him about being in it, but he wasn’t quite right for that particular part, so I kept in the back of my mind because I loved meeting him so much.

Can you tell me what particular part that was?
It was a part that Oliver Platt eventually had in “Please Give.” He was Catherine Keener’s husband, and Jim would have been great, but he had just come off of “The Sopranos” more recently and his character kept screwing around. He had so many mistresses, and in “Please Give,” the character cheats and I didn’t want that connotation. Although I thought he would have been great in the part as well, but I’m so glad I got a bigger part for him and a chance to work with him longer than that.

Your next movie, “Every Secret Thing,” seems different. What attracted you to a crime story, and how do you decide once you’ve written a script whether you’ll direct it as well?
Well, this one was very easy. I was hired by Frances McDormand, who was producing it, to adapt the book, and I thought the book was really interesting and psychological. And the main two characters were 11-year-old girls, and I love that kind of dark psychological stuff, and I enjoyed writing it. And when it came time to direct it, I realized I couldn’t go with something that dark that long in my life.

So that was a decision you made?
Yeah, and it involved the death of a baby, and I just couldn’t go there.

So you could write it, but you didn’t want to have to put yourself in the scene of having to direct it for maybe months on end?
Yeah, and then edit it for months, exactly. I couldn’t face that. I think I made the right choice.

“Enough Said” is in theaters now. It will be released on DVD and Blu-Ray on Jan. 14.

When Work is Not Enough

When Work is Not Enough

<p>Efforts to promote work have been the centerpiece of welfare reform over the past ten years. In signing the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996, President Bill Clinton pledged that the sweeping overhaul would ‘end welfare as we know it’ by promoting work, responsibility, and family. To accomplish these goals, policymakers relied on two sets of tools: strict limits on eligibility for traditional benefits and a set of programs designed to make work pay. When Work Is Not Enough presents the first comprehensive analysis of the work support system. Drawing on both state and national data, Robert Stoker and Laura Wilson evaluate a broad range of policies that provide cash or in-kind benefits to low-wage workers, low-income working families, and families moving from welfare to work. These programs include minimum wage rates, Earned Income Tax Credit programs, medical assistance programs, food programs, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families earned income disregards, childcare grants, and rental assistance. Stoker and Wilson break new ground by examining the adequacy and coverage of the work support system in all fifty states and the District of Columbia. They address the prospects for reforming the system, as well as its impact on the politics of redistribution in the United States. Rich in analysis, Wh ‘en Work Is Not Enough w’ill be essential reading for anyone interested in the impact and future of welfare reform.
