Under the terms of the deal, Brashear said, Casa Vida will open two additional stores in the Middle East over the next 18 months. The locations have not yet been identified, he said. “We’re looking at a couple of different options.”
Emaar operates over 6.7 million square feet of retail space in Dubai and also owns the Dubai Marina Mall, Souk Al Bahar and the Gold & Diamond Park, according to its web site.
The addition of Varvatos is part of the expansion of the fashion and lifestyle offerings at the Dubai Mall that involves adding another 1 million square feet and 150 new brands to the Fashion Avenue area of the mall. Flagpole Enters Men’s Swim

Megan Balch and Jaime Barker, who cofounded Flagpole in 2013, are known for their sporty, brightly colored women’s swimwear sold at retailers including Shopbop and Barneys New York, but they always had the men’s category in mind.
“Flagpole is the name of the beach we grew up on,” said Balch. “But before we even had sketches or drawings, we always knew we wanted to have a unisex name to accommodate for men’s.”
According to Balch, they’ve spent two years working on the men’s collection, which includes two silhouettes: the Luke short, a hybrid swim and travel short; and the Dave trunk, a classic swimsuit. The Luke short is made from a quick-drying fabric with pockets and an interior adjustable drawstring. They retail for $ 225. The Dave trunk has a slim fit and is also made from a quick-drying fabric but has an elastic waistband. It retails for $ 185.
“Since our launch, a lot of men have reached out saying that they resonate with our clean, modern and functional aesthetic,” said Balch. “What they wanted boiled down to two things: a classic cut and ultimate comfort.”
They are opting for a direct-to-consumer distribution with men’s in order to get feedback from consumers.
“It’s hard to get

Z Supply Enters Retail Fray With Fashion Island Store

Z Supply LLC has opened its first store with plans of growing its retail footprint over time.
The 1,362-square-foot temporary store at Fashion Island in Newport Beach carries the company’s namesake basics brand and is also set to be used to test categories from the line.
The assortment includes the women’s collection in addition to some pieces from the Z Supply men’s line. The company will also sell items from its Zoo Supply line for pets, which launched last year.
The Fashion Island pop-up is scheduled to be open for a period of three to six months.
Z Supply chief operating officer Heidi Muther called the timing right to look at retail, as the company follows the game plans of a number of born-online brands or businesses with traditional wholesale models exploring direct-to-consumer through physical retail in a bid to learn more about their respective consumer bases.
Z Supply, the brand, has seen steady growth since its 2013 launch and is in more than 2,000 stores in the U.S. It’s part of a portfolio of brands created by Z Supply LLC that includes Black Swan, White Crow, Others Follow, Rag Poets, Icons of Culture and Pirate Surf. The Great has made plans to enter the footwear arena via wholesale, with a collection of 10 equally vintage-inspired, no-heels styles for Spring 2018. While its e-commerce business has seen triple-digit growth this year, there’s also plenty of opportunity with wholesale.
Priced at $ 295 to $ 495 retail, the collection includes vegetable tanned vachetta, calf hair and kid suede with leather soles and linings, all made in Brazil. Like many of the clothes, the boots are styled after original men’s pieces, softened up for women.

Miley Cyrus Enters Bondage-Themed Video In Porn Festival

Miley Cyrus has entered one of her music videos in a porn festival.

The New York Post reports that the 21-year-old singer submitted her bondage-themed video for “Tongue Tied” in the first-ever NYC Porn Film Festival.

Directed by mixed-media artist and filmmaker Quentin Jones, Cyrus first released the video last May. It played as an intro to Cyrus’ show before she took the stage during her Bangerz tour last year.

The two-minute clip features a nearly nude Cyrus smearing herself with black oil as she writhes to the music, but festival-goers will see an extended cut that runs nearly twice as long as the original video, this according to the listing on the festival’s website.

“It’s a pop take on S&M,” festival founder Simon Leahy told the Post. “[Cyrus is] starting to become more of a contemporary artist.”

The NYC Porn Film Festival runs from Feb. 27 to March 1 in Bushwick, and also features a screening of former reality star Tila Tequila’s award-winning video from Vivid Entertainment, “Tila Tequila: Backdoored & Squirting.”

Watch the shorter version of Cyrus’ video below. (Sensitive audiences will want to avoid watching at work.)
