Sorority Sister Dies When She Falls Through Party Bus Window, and Police Are Investigating

A 20-year-old college student died when she fell through an emergency window of a party bus Tuesday night, and the University of North Carolina-Charlotte fraternity chapter that rented the bus has been suspended, according to multiple reports.

Polly Miranda Rogers, 20, fell through the emergency window of a Charlotte Party Charter bus rented by the Kappa Sigma Fraternity’s Kappa-Omega Chapter, KMOV reports. She fell into the roadway and was hit by two cars, and was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say passengers on the bus were drinking alcohol and that they are investigating. The charter bus company told local station WBTV they are not responsible for underage drinking.

Amid the investigation, the Kappa Sigma Fraternity suspended its Kappa-Omega Chapter at the college and released a statement saying it is cooperating with authorities.

“The Brothers of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of Polly Rogers. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Rogers family and to her loved ones,” the statement, obtained by WBTV, said. “We are in the process of conducting an investigation of the event on Tuesday evening. The Kappa Sigma Fraternity will fully cooperate with all investigations of the University and local authorities.”

The bus was heading to a bar in uptown Charlotte Tuesday night after leaving the college’s campus, according to WCNC.

Rogers’ cause of death has not been released, according to WBTV.

Rogers was a sorority sister of the Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity and in a statement released by the organization was described as “one of the friendliest people you would ever meet.”

“She could always be found in the common areas of the house greeting sisters after their day at classes and making sure their day was going well,” the statement posted on Facebook continues.

A GoFundMe page has been started to help pay for Rogers’ memorial.

Under Armour Stock Falls as Cofounder Kip Fulks Takes Step Back

Shares of Under Armour Inc. fell 4.3 percent Monday as investors were apparently rattled over a report that the company’s cofounder Kip Fulks was taking a further step back at the company and the activewear giant is considering exiting some smaller-volume businesses, such as the tennis and outdoor categories.
The company’s stock closed down 68 cents to $ 15.23.
An Under Armour spokeswoman said the company is in a quiet period and had no comment on the report from the Wall Street Journal. The company will report its latest quarterly results on Oct. 31.
Fulks, a college classmate of chief executive officer Kevin Plank, has slowly become less and less active in the day-to-day operations of the Baltimore-based company. Since May, he has been a strategic adviser working on improving the brand’s efficiency, but since Under Armour was founded in 1996, he has also served as chief operating officer, chief marketing officer, president of footwear and innovation, and president of product. He has also held roles in sourcing and quality assurance.
Sources said Fulks is on a sabbatical, a benefit offered to all employees with over 10 years of service. When and if he will return is unknown at this point.

David Cassidy Slurs His Words And Falls Off Stage During Performance

Saturday was a rough night for David Cassidy, who fell off stage during a performance in Agoura, California.

TMZ posted a fan-shot video of the former “Partridge Family” star, who repeatedly slurred his words as both spoke and sang, told the crowd long, rambling stories, and frequently forgot the lyrics to his songs. The 66-year-old was also seen falling backward off the stage with his guitar strapped around his body.

Another fan-shot video captured the singer hitting himself in the face with a microphone after he struggled to remove it from its stand.

Cassidy announced earlier this month that he was retiring after 50 years in show business, which he reiterated to the crowd at Saturday’s show.

The singer previously admitted he struggles with alcoholism, and has been arrested for driving under the influence multiple times

Request for comment made to Cassidy’s rep has yet to be returned at this time.

British Men’s Wear Retailer Austin Reed Falls Into Administration

LONDON — Another day, another British retail failure.
On Tuesday, just 24 hours after British Home Stores entered into administration, the U.K. equivalent of Chapter 11, men’s wear retailer Austin Reed announced it was also seeking protection from creditors.
Founded by Austin Leonard Reed in 1900, the group also owns women’s wear labels Viyella and Country Casuals. It began making made-to-measure clothing and later moved into men’s ready-to-wear.
The brand has a flagship store on Regent Street and sells through more than 1,000 retail outlets worldwide, with nearly 30 wholesale clients in the U.S.
The company’s new owners, distressed retail experts Alteri Investors, have called in Alix Partners to sell the company. Some 1,200 jobs are said to be at risk, according to press reports.
As part of a turnaround plan set by Alteri, the company had closed about 15 percent of its 200 stores in the past year.
The first Austin Reed branded store was established on Fenchurch Street in London, with a larger flagship store opening in 1911 at 113 Regent Street. In 2011 the brand moved across the road to number 100.
The new store features a dedicated casualwear floor, a 60-foot wall of shirts and two floors of tailoring, including a bespoke service.
The company’s collapse comes

Harry Styles Falls Again Because It’s The Story Of His Life

Reuniting his butt with the floor once again, Harry Styles took another tumble at a concert in Toronto on Thursday.

It’s just the latest chapter in Style’s epic battle against gravity, which seems to have been going on for a while now:

Recently, during a time we assume he wasn’t falling to the seat of his pants, Styles and One Direction released the video for their new single. It’s called “Drag Me Down.”

Yeah, “Drag Me Down.” Has there ever been a more appropriate song title in the history of music?

When the Gavel Falls

When the Castle loses one of its own to cancer, what better way to honor his memory than by hosting a charity event? Thirty submissives answer the call, offering themselves up on the auction block for four days, three nights, and anything goes. Meet five of them in five great, full-length brand new novels from five of erotic writing’s best authors:”Owning O” by Maren Smith: She’s the most highly-coveted submissive the Castle has ever known. She never says no, cries her safeword, or plays with the same Dom twice. For years Alan has watched her, looking but never touching until the night of the auction. Seizing his chance, Alan bids, but defeating the other Doms in the audience is only the first and easiest step in his bid to own the infamous O. Freeing her from herself quickly proves to be much, much harder.”Punishing Portia” by Darling Adams: When chef David Marone recognizes the food critic who just lambasted him in a review on the auction block, he bids to keep her as his slave for three nights. He remembers her from culinary school seventeen years earlier, and relishes the idea of getting even with her. Portia Sands hopes the gorgeous Chicago chef who won her at the auction doesn’t know her real identity. Then, she discovers he knows who she is and means to exact revenge. She considers calling a safeword to end their time together, but some part of her won’t allow it. Somehow she must survive three nights as his slave and keep her heart in the process.”Rosie’s Resolutions” by Maggie Ryan: “Don’t Chicken Out” – those three words are at the top of Rosa’s list of resolutions. Why Posing Nude For Lui Falls In Line With Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s Feminist Beliefs

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley has proved once again that she is not shy about showing off her figure. She’s wearing next to nothing on the cover and accompanying spread of French men’s magazine Lui.

Huntington-Whiteley, who looks absolutely stunning in the shots she posted to Instagram on Wednesday, oozes confidence as much as she does sex appeal, something she says stems from her sheltered, rural upbringing.

While a model posing nude for a magazine spread is hardly a new concept, it’s a decision that seems in line with the can-do spirit in which Huntington-Whiteley says she was raised. In an interview with HuffPost Live that touched on her feminist beliefs, she explains:

“I’ve been lucky in my career. Modeling is kind of a female’s world, and I feel very lucky for that. I never felt too many limitations in that industry, but it’s certainly something you think about more and more and it’s certainly something we’re seeing more and more in the media. For me, I would totally, comfortably call myself a feminist. I believe in equal rights and for women to do what they want to do,” she said.

Clearly, doing whatever they want to do includes nude photoshoots. More power to you, Rosie.

The 4th Annual Infrasound Music Festival in Black River Falls, Wisconsin

2015-05-09-1431135157-2883323-11174931_608017985999305_3074945794000739631_n.jpg

Beautiful souls swinging their tangled tendrils, orbs of fire tracing invisible geometry, rumbling bass that vibrates your innards, Palo Santo arousing olfactory bliss, and artists caressing canvases with their paintbrushes. This imagery evokes a sense of home within me, a familiarity even if its in an unfamiliar place.

This is the world of the music festival. A place where people come to gather, grow, share, love, give, play, watch, listen and learn. The festival paradigm is unified but also diverse. There is a similarity shared by all festivals which is what creates its growing community. However, each festival offers its own distinct flavor which is what keeps this community diverse.

Infrasound represents a new style in music festivals based on sound system culture and intelligent dance music. A refreshing change from the usual predictable lineup and crowd. – Taylor Winum, co-founder of Infrasound Music Festival.

These idyllic festivals are popping up all over the world, even in unlikely, but not unbelievable, locales. The 4th annual Infrasound Festival will be held on May 28th-31st of 2015 on a pristine lake in Black River Falls, Wisconsin. Like many of the world’s greatest music festivals, Infrasound humbly began in 2010 as a warehouse party in downtown Minneapolis. The first official Infrasound Festival took place in Houston, Minnesota in 2012 and then moved to Black River Falls in 2013, where it has a found its home. The founders of this Midwestern festival are Alex Heiligman, David Liberman, and Taylor Winum, whose entire lives are focused on bringing good music to the U.S. The Infrasound family also hosts Infrasound Equinox, another diverse event which is held during the autumnal equinox in September at the same venue.

2015-05-09-1431135231-1352584-11136143_598416523626118_420759980499143366_o.jpg

With a lineup decorated by superheroes of the electronic underground, festival patrons from all over the country rushed to purchase their tickets. The lineup includes Tipper, The Opiuo Band, Benga, Ott, Bluetech, Thriftworks, Russ Liquid, Mr Bill, Mumukshu, Perkulat0r, AtYyA, and many more. Android Jones will be providing Tipper’s kaleidoscopic visuals, a combination that is sure to send you to another dimension. Set amidst an oxygen-rich forest and beneath a delicious looking Milky Way, the venue and the event exist in perfect symbiosis. Festival-goers may enjoy a cool dip into liquid or watch the sunrise paint the glassy water in hues of pink, orange, peach and yellow during Tipper’s lakeside set.

2015 has brought Infrasound Music Festival an enormous amount of attention, so much so in fact, that the event is almost sold out. Online ticket sales have ended, however there is still hope for those who have not yet purchased their festival passes. The founders have decided to use an application process for the remaining tickets. The application aims to ensure that those who are most passionate and supportive of Infrasound and the intimate culture of the festival will get one of these final tickets. The application process will begin on Saturday, May 9th at 2 pm CST and conclude on Friday, May 15th at 11:59 pm CST. Everyone who submits an application will receive a response between May 19th and May 21st.

Infrasound grew out of my boredom with most festivals and shows all over the country and I wanted to create something different. It’s been crazy to watch it grow from a warehouse party into a sold out festival. – Alex Heiligman, co-founder of Infrasound Music Festival

With yet another mystical, magical, and majestic music festival to add to the bucket list, Infrasound promises to be the destination for those who seek the unique. With lakeside sunrise sets, all the fresh air you can breathe, and a community of respectful, creative, inspiring, imaginative and kind human beings, Infrasound Music Festival is not to be missed. The prefix infra- means “below” and infrasound means frequencies that are below the human spectrum of audibility. To be below the sound means to immerse yourself deep within its vibrations and drench yourself in the liquid sound waves of bass music. Together at Infrasound we will dance upon the Earth, above judgement, and below the sound.

How Oh Honey Became The Fall’s Most Buzzworthy Band

About two years ago, Danielle Bouchard was greeting customers at the Harry Potter exhibit at Discovery Times Square in New York. On those days, she would look across the way at Best Buy Theater, wishing her name was on the marquee.

Well, now it is.

Bouchard is one half of Brooklyn-based folk-pop duo, Oh Honey, and she — along with her bandmate, Mitchy Collins — will play that very theater on Nov. 7.

In an interview with The Huffington Post, Bouchard — honey blonde in a black lace dress and black thigh highs — told the story with a soft sincerity while Collins looked on. The two are currently preparing to embark on a national tour with fellow Brooklyn-based band — and “very close friends,” said Collins — American Authors.

Catching up with @dannibouchard + @mitchycollins of the harmonious @ohhoneymusic for @huffingtonpost. Check them out on tour with American Authors this fall!

View on Instagram

“I feel like it’s like watching a movie of my life happen and waiting for myself to catch up,” Collins said of the past few months. “A lot of work and not a lot of sleep. But, in a good way.”

Collins is spot-on about the band’s quick ascent; the two linked up to form Oh Honey in May 2013. Since then, they’ve signed with Atlantic Records and toured with the likes of The Fray and James Blunt. They released their debut EP, “With Love,” in November 2013, and their second EP, “Sincerely Yours,” on Tuesday. Their single, “Be Okay” — a top-25 hit at Hot AC radio outlets nationwide — was covered on Glee’s landmark 100th episode and appears in numerous commercials:

The track is a prime example of why the duo has caught on so quickly; it is an undeniably catchy folk-pop anthem, and Collins and Bouchard make harmony look easy.

And their personalities blend like their voices. When asked to describe their sound, the two riff off of one another until they land on one word, in unison: “Optimistic.”

But Oh Honey needed more than optimism to become a reality. While Bouchard had never toured before Oh Honey, Collins, now in his late 20s, has worked in music since his teens and is hardly a stranger to the difficulties of the field.

“You feel like your life is forgetting about you at times,” Collins said. “You’re so confined to what you’re doing and then your friends and family and loved ones are still going on about their lives.”

But for the duo, the rewards are very much worth the challenges.

“It’s funny, because you’ll be out for so long and you’re missing home,” Bouchard added. “And then you’ll be home for two weeks and you’ll think, ‘I miss tour.’ I feel like we’re really ready to get out on the road.”

oh honey album

Though the band is buzzing to put their music out there, they’ll miss their home base in New York. (Bouchard lives in Greenpoint, Brooklyn; Collins recently relocated to Los Angeles, but will split time between coasts.)

“I’m a vegetarian,” Bouchard said, “and it’s really hard on the road. I always miss those cute little veggie spots that I love in Brooklyn.”

“Yes,” Collins said. “The food. The pizza.”

“It all comes down to food,” nodded Bouchard.

In the future, the duo may bring a bit of Brooklyn on tour with them: they’d like to link up with a local bee farm — which exist on rooftops in Williamsburg and Bushwick, Bouchard explains — to sell their own honey at their shows, though neither are enthused at the thought of farming bees themselves.

“No, I do not want to farm bees,” Bouchard said, laughing.

“I don’t know how much the idea of being surrounded by bees is enticing,” Collins added.

Catch Oh Honey on tour with American Authors, beginning Oct. 21, or stream their new EP, “Sincerely Yours,” now.

‘Tyler Perry’s The Single Moms Club’ Box Office Falls Short

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Street racers couldn’t catch a time-traveling dog and his son at the multiplex this weekend.

Though Disney’s “Need for Speed” was expected to take the No. 1 position at the box office, DreamWorks’ “Mr. Peabody & Sherman” took the lead, with the action film in third place. The animated movie, about the adventures of a genius dog and the human son he adopted, earned $ 21.2 million, according to studio estimates released Sunday. Debuting last weekend at No. 2, the 3-D kiddie-jaunt features voices from “Modern Family” stars Ty Burrell and Ariel Winter.

“Our midweek numbers were very strong, indicating good and positive word of mouth,” said Chris Aronson, president of domestic distribution at Twentieth Century Fox. “If anything, this is exceeding (expectations). It’s a combination of likable characters and it’s a nostalgia play for those who are familiar with the show.”

Mr. Peabody and Sherman first appeared in the 1950s and early 1960s on “Peabody’s Improbable History,” a segment within the animated television series “Rocky and His Friends” and later “The Bullwinkle Show.”

“The family marketplace is giving every other genre a run for its money,” said Paul Dergarabedian, senior media analyst for box-office tracker Rentrak. “But the St. Patrick’s Day effect could be at play here, where families had to exercise their options at the theater rather than the pub. That may have paid off for ‘Mr. Peabody.'”

Meanwhile, analysts predicted that “Need for Speed,” based on the popular EA Entertainment video game and starring “Breaking Bad” alum Aaron Paul, would come in at No. 1 this weekend. But with $ 17.8 million, it arrived at No. 3 in the U.S. But the movie raced to the top of the international box office, bringing in $ 45.6 million.

Warner Bros.’ warrior drama “300: Rise of an Empire,” the 3-D sequel to 2007’s “300,” dropped to second place, with $ 19.1 million, after debuting at No. 1 last weekend. Though its opening haul of $ 45.1 million pales in comparison to the original, which debuted with $ 70.9 million, “Rise of an Empire” has earned more than $ 78 million since its debut.

Tyler Perry’s “The Single Moms Club,” starring Nia Long and Amy Smart, opened with $ 8.3 million at No. 5.

“This is one of Tyler Perry’s lowest debuts ever, but he cranks out hits every year for almost decade,” Dergarabedian said. “He’s allowed a couple of missteps every once in a while.”

Leading the year’s early trend of films about religion, Fox’s “Son of God” grossed $ 5.4 million in its third weekend. After opening at No. 2 with $ 26.5 million, it dropped to No. 5 in its second week, earning $ 10 million. Its performance may indicate that religious stories aren’t holding up at box office. Plus “Son of God,” starring Diogo Morgado, lacks star power.

However, other upcoming films with a biblical thread feature leading men who are more likely to get viewers to theaters. “Noah,” out March 28, stars Russell Crowe. And later this year, in the Ridley Scott-directed “Exodus,” we’ll see Christian Bale as Moses.

Playing in only 66 theaters, Wes Anderson’s “Grand Budapest Hotel” landed at No. 8 with $ 3.6 million. When it opened last weekend, the stylish comedy showed on just four screens in New York and Los Angeles. Still, it impressed with $ 200,000.

Rounding out the top 10 is the Kristen Bell-starring cult-TV-show-turned-feature “Veronica Mars.” Its $ 2 million debut was impressive considering the film’s funding came from a crowdsourcing campaign, the first high-profile project to do so.

Also opening this weekend was Jason Bateman’s directorial debut “Bad Words.” Showing in only New York and Los Angeles, the comedy earned $ 120,000, one of the biggest per theater averages of the weekend, with $ 20,000 per movie house.

Sci-fi action movie “Divergent,” based on the Veronica Roth’s young adult novel and starring Shailene Woodley, Theo James and Kate Winslet, stands to knock every other film a place or two down when it debuts next weekend.

‘Flowers In The Attic’ Review: Lifetime’s Gamble On The V.C. Andrews Novel Falls Flat

Ask any girl in her thirties, and she’ll likely have an inexplicable soft spot for “Flowers in the Attic,” that chilling V.C. Andrews novel passed around like a dirty secret at slumber parties and middle school playgrounds. What “Hunger Games” and “Twilight” are for millennials, the Dollanganger series was for girls who grew up in the ’80s and ’90s; the rags-to-riches story appealed to our fantasy, the brother-sister incest made it verboten. Yes, the incest. A curious hallmark of Andrews’ writing (and the books subsequently published under her name by a ghostwriter and the Andrews estate), brother-sister/ father-daughter/ cousin-cousin love felt every bit as stunningly taboo as young children murdering one another in a corrupt government’s version of the Olympic games. It still is.

Ironically, the premise of four children locked away in a dusty attic for years doesn’t seem as outlandish as it did when I first read the book, at age 12. In recent years, the media has been filled with numerous stories of evil men doing evil things like holding girls, some of them their own daughters, captive in basements for decades. Suddenly, a book featuring captivity, casual incest and generations of abuse in rural Virginia doesn’t seem so improbable. Andrews’ 1979 cult hit rings oddly prescient today.

All of this zeitgeist chatter is to say that Lifetime’s gamble on producing a made-for-TV movie adaptation of “Flowers” felt like a good one (the campy 1987 film adaptation, starring in Louise Fletcher and Kristy Swanson, is generally considered a flop). And a trailer for the movie, starring Kiernan Shipka (“Mad Men”) and Heather Graham, was generally received with excited anticipation when it was released in November.

So now that the movie has premiered on the network on Saturday (Jan. 18), does it live up to expectations? Sadly, the answer is no. The acting is flat and the movie (directed by Deborah Chow), while aesthetically pleasing, keeps on dragging on and on until you wonder why you were so excited to watch it in the first place. Lifetime felt so confident that it had a winner on its hands that it has already green-lit a second movie, an adaption of the book’s sequel, “Petals on the Wind.” Perhaps they should have waited until reviews of the first came out. Below are my reactions to the movie.

flowers
Kiernan Shipka as Cathy
The precocious, 14-year-old Shipka appears to be fearless when it comes to more mature content (though she swears she’s still not allowed to watch “Mad Men” at home). And she looks exactly the part of Cathy Dollanganger, with her perfect doll looks and sad, wise-beyond-her-years demeanor. She’s a bright spot in the movie, but it’s an uphill battle with such little plot and a stiff script by Kayla Alpert. Cathy in the book is a drama queen and a dreamer, the ballerina who fights to survive. Shipka’s Cathy is more languid and lifeless. There is also zero chemistry between her and her older brother and future romantic interest, Chris (played by Mason Dye, an actor with Zac Efron hair and blindingly white teeth).

flowers
Heather Graham and Ellen Burstyn as Corrine and Olivia
It’s not surprising that veteran actresses Graham and Burstyn, as the children’s irresponsible mother and their evil grandmother, deliver the film’s strongest performances. Graham in particular is effective as the beautiful but ultimately evil mother. Her eyes are like wide, blank pools of immaturity; her porcelain but vacant beauty a mask for the kind of selfish mother who would rather see her own children waste away and die than give up trips to Paris and an inheritance. But I was left wanting more from Burstyn (whose performance as the gullible sweepstakes winner in 2000’s “Requiem for a Dream” I’m still haunting by) as the Bible-thumping, religious fanatic Olivia. Her pathetic cries for help at the end of the movie were Burstyn at her best; if the film had fully fleshed out her character’s vulnerability, we would have been left with a more memorable villain.

whipping
The Whippings
Both scenes involving Corrine and Chris getting whipped weren’t nearly scary enough. It’s not just the fact that Corrine’s lashes on her back were so obviously painted on, though that certainly didn’t help. There is a way to convey the kind of generational family abuse without resorting to the physical, and I’m not sure that the whippings were an effective medium to portray the kind of terror felt by the twins and Corrine at the hands of Olivia.

house
Not Enough Foxworth Hall
V.C. Andrews purists will tell you that much of her books’ appeal was the sheer fantasy of it all: Southern mansions and secret gardens, side rooms and libraries. Which is why it’s so disappointing that we don’t get to experience Foxworth Hall’s grandeur as we did in the books. Chow doesn’t allow the viewer to experience much more of the Foxworth family estate than the two floors of the attic. We see the mansion’s facade, we sneak down a set of stairs into their mother’s bedroom, we barely glimpse the library… and that’s about it. We never get a sense of the house’s structure, or for the opulence, the untouchable beauty of it all. Even Chris and Cathy’s escape to the property’s lake felt without view. C’mon, people. This is supposed to be the Foxworths, a family with tons and tons of money (“We’re going to be rich!” Corrine tells the children in the beginning of the movie, when she tells them about her plans). So why does the movie’s budget feel so poor?

cathy
Cathy Becomes A Woman and That Scene
One of the most pivotal scenes in the book is when Chris chops Cathy’s hair after it is mysteriously covered in tar. A moment of tenderness is meant to pass between them and — dear Lord, why is that hair so clearly fake? It sounds like metal shears are hacking into a whole head of straw. Not only was Cathy’s fake wig distracting in the scene, so were the rigid acting and dialogue. I mean, I suppose there’s no good way to convey that inherently creepy moment when a sexual relationships blossoms between a brother and sister (“So… you think of me, then?”), but Chow also failed to capture the sense of longing and girl-becomes-woman emotion of that moment. And while the director thankfully spares us unnecessarily graphic scenes between Cathy and Chris (considering Shipka’s age), she also kinds of just avoids the incest completely. The siblings kiss, then the scene cuts to black and there they are, waking up next to each other on a dirty mattress. And that’s basically that.

flowers
The Twins and Imprisonment in the Attic
Part of what made “Flowers” so haunting is the revelation that twin brother Cory died from being poisoned by donuts laced with arsenic, not pneumonia, prompting Cathy and Chris to escape the attic once and for all. In the book, the twins are stunted in growth, from the lack of sunlight and fresh air. In the movie, the twins Carire and Cory (played by Ava Telek and Maxwell Kovach) don’t play much of a part other than to say they’re hungry. Chow misses an opportunity to make more of an analogy about their well-being and suffering, general malaise and the obtuseness of a selfish mother… Or are we just reading too much into this here?

flowers escape
The Escape Scene
After spending an hour (or four years) with the children in an attic, it was pretty anti-climatic to see that the children could fashion an old-fashioned blanket-rope and casually climb out of their prison/house with ease. And then there’s the LOL moment when a man hunting for deer on the property allows three completely malnourished children claiming to be Corrine’s offspring run away. It’s like Chow was in a rush to finish off the movie; if she couldn’t be bothered introducing more believability into that scene, then it should have been cut from the script.

What did you make of Lifetime’s “Flowers in the Attic” movie? And will you be watching the network’s upcoming sequel, “Petals on the Wind”? Sound off in the comments below.

Michael Bay Falls Apart, Shocks Crowd At CES (VIDEO)

LAS VEGAS — Michael Bay certainly knows how to wow a crowd.

The Hollywood director and producer abruptly walked off stage during a Samsung press conference here on Monday, surprising a large crowd and temporarily disrupting what was supposed to be a highly choreographed, well-scripted presentation to show off the South Korean tech giant’s latest lineup of consumer electronics.

Bay was on stage to help Samsung promote the company’s huge, new curved UHD (ultra high definition) televisions. The press conference was part of CES, the annual gathering of electronics companies in Las Vegas.

Samsung’s Joe Stinziano asked Bay, who has directed and produced blockbusters like “Armageddon” and the “Transformers” series, what inspires him and how he comes up with his “unbelievable ideas.”

See video above.

Bay started to answer, but then he trailed off, turned in a circle and appeared to blame the teleprompter, saying, “The type is all off. Sorry. But I’ll just wing this.”

“Tell us what you think,” Stinziano said, going along with it.

“Yeah, we’ll wing it right now,” Bay said, shaking his head.

“I try to take people on an emotional ride and, um …” he trailed off again.

Stinziano attempted to get Bay back on track by asking him how the new TV’s curved screen will impact viewers’ experience of his movies.

But with that, Bay excused himself, apologized and walked off the stage.

Startled, Stinziano apologized to the audience but still thanked Bay several times.

“Welcome to Vegas. It’s live shows, folks,” Stinziano said.
