Burberry Hosts a Bevy of Stars for Bailey’s Farewell Show

CHECKING OUT: Saturday night’s Burberry show was nothing short of a Christopher Bailey love-in, with staffers getting teary eyed and celebrity guests gushing about the designer who’s leaving after nearly two decades at the brand.
“Of course I’m here to support him — he’s been so generous to me, dressing me for years for different events,” said the actor Idris Elba. Naomi Watts said she wanted to be there because “I like Christopher – he’s a really lovely person to spend time with.”
More than 1,300 guests attended the show including Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Keira Knightley, Michelle Dockery, Naomie Harris, Iris Law, Lily James, Jourdan Dunn, Kate Mara, Chelsea Clinton, Paloma Faith, Liam Gallagher, Gosha Rubchinskiy, Daphne Guinness and Stephen Jones.
When they weren’t gushing about Bailey, they were talking about their projects for the stage and screen.
Miller said she’s still recovering from the West End run of “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof,” and is about to promote “The Burning Woman,” an American drama in which she plays a woman named Deb. “But I don’t set myself on fire and the film is not related in any way to Burning Man (festival),” she said.
Watts, meanwhile, has two films in the pipeline,

‘SNL’ Bids Obama Farewell With Touching Rendition Of ‘To Sir, With Love’

On the day after President Donald Trump’s inauguration, “Saturday Night Live” bid farewell to Barack Obama with a touching musical number.

Cecily Strong kicked off the performance, singing “To Sir, With Love” as she stood in front of a large photo of Obama. Fellow cast member Sasheer Zamata joined in for the second half of the song, which was slightly modified from the 1967 original.

The duo sang, “And as you leave / I know that I am losing my best friend / A friend who taught me right from wrong / And weak from strong / That’s a lot to learn / What, what can I give you in return?”

They then pulled out a coffee mug for Obama that read, “World’s Best President.” Because nothing says “thank you” quite like a slogan mug.

This Farewell Mashup Of Obama Singing ‘My Way’ May Leave You Misty

The lyrics to the song “My Way” were written by singer Paul Anka for his friend Frank Sinatra. Sinatra had mentioned to Anka one night over dinner that he was leaving the business.

President Obama would probably serve a third term if we asked him to (and if it were legal), but alas, it’s time for him to go. And, as if there wasn’t enough going on in politics to make you want to cry, here is a touching rendition of “My Way,” created from a mashup of Obama sound bites.

Synopsis: In a recurring poetic image, 17-year-old Regina Diane Nicholson swings between heaven and earth on a breathtakingly high cliff by the sea. Reggie is a tomboy struggling with a terminal illness, her parents and her dream of making a film. She impresses us with her loving, strong personality and wisdom beyond her years, as well as her morbid sense of humor. When director Henry Corra met 17-year-old filmmaker Regina Nicholson at a film festival nearly three years ago, he agreed to help her make a feature film. What developed over nearly two years is a powerful friendship and poignant relationship between Reggie and Henry. He became her collaborator, friend and defender in her fight to find artistic and personal freedom. When Reggie turns 18 and can make decisions on her own, things become even more intense. This film is a poetic fairytale about love and death, holding on and letting go – one that invites us to discuss the relationship between filmmaker, subject and family. An eclectic mix of images with the intimacy of a video diary or home movie, it is filmed both by Henry and by Reggie and supplemented by their text message exchanges, images from her favorite movies, and fairytale-like scenes with songs that together form a heartwarming, but also heartbreaking and controversial ode to Reggie’s life.

Producer: Jeremy Amar

Ellen DeGeneres Gives Heartfelt Farewell To Jay Leno On ‘The Tonight Show’ (VIDEO)

While Jay Leno isn’t set to exit “The Tonight Show” until next year, Ellen DeGeneres said her goodbyes on Wednesday night. After 32 prior appearances, this was going to be her final interview on Leno’s show before he leaves, and so she wanted to talk about what an impact he’s had on her life.

“You were so supportive all the time,” an emotional DeGeneres told him. “You always tried to help me in every way. Gave me great advice, gave me ideas with jokes and, actually, Jay is responsible for me being booked on ‘The Tonight Show’ with Johnny Carson, because you told the booker, Jim McCawley, to stay at The Improv and watch me. You said, ‘This girl’s great … so thank you very much for everything you’ve done. You’re amazing. You’re a good guy.”

She then presented Leno with a going away gift — a denim Snuggie. DeGeneres said that it combined his every day outfit of denim-on-denim with his new, retired lifestyle. She then ended her inteview with a kiss. It was a callback to when she came on “The Tonight Show” shortly after coming out publicly back in 1997 and planted a kiss on the host to prove that a kiss was just a kiss.

Of course, this may not be the last time the two get together. We’re pretty sure the door is open for Jay Leno to drop by “The Ellen Degeneres Show,” weekdays in syndication (check local listings). For now, “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” continues on weeknights at 11:35 p.m. ET on NBC.
