Sarah Brightman Returns from Space Training for New Album and Tour: ‘I Needed to Earth Myself’

Sarah Brightman is making an astronomical landing with her fifteenth studio album Hymn.

After spending months in Russia training for a trip to outer space that she postponed in 2015, Brightman, 58, opened up to PEOPLE exclusively about the creation of her newest album and the planning stages of her tour.

“I needed to earth myself,” says the soprano singer. “I said I would like to do an album of songs which are full of light, full of hope. Songs that remind me of when I felt safe and familiar with things in my childhood when I sang in my church.”

“If I don’t use and I don’t convey my feelings through it, I feel depleted,” she added. “I don’t function very well and that’s the beauty of having a gift like a voice. You sort of know what to do. You know what direction to take, you know that you want to communicate through it.”

Brightman, who shot to fame after star-turning roles on Broadway musicals Cats and Phantom of the Opera, linked up with producer Frank Peterson for the album-creating process. What came out of two-and-a-half years of planning and recording was the dynamic, choir-filled album, Hymn, out on Nov. 9.

“ is about looking into the good in things because I do believe that good prevails always,” she said, adding that the word “positivity” would describe her album.

“I did experience huge amounts when I was in the space program that actually how precious everything really is on this beautiful planet and how precious that is,” she added.

Now, the “Time to Say Goodbye” vocalist is ready to take Hymn on the road later this fall for a tour that’s “going to be quite beautiful.”

“I have a lot of energy. I tend to before I go on these tours, I become more energetic,” she says. “You create a power for yourself which will protect you because when you go on tour you’re dealing with the hardship of jet lag and moving around continually.”

The “Angel of Music” singer says her set on tour will be divided into two halves. The first will feature a more retrospective aspect to Brightman’s music, which will look like “somebody who is going to the ballet or the opera.” The second will be a bit more modern and feature most of the songs off Hymn.

“I’m wearing all these amazing runway gowns, which I’ve made a little more theatrical by adding things to them. Stones, crystals, all sorts of stuff,” she says. “I’ve got a big choir behind me. Up really high. I’ve got an orchestra on one side, a band on the other side and myself in the middle.”

Brightman’s album is filled with collaborations with artists like French tenor Vincent Niclo on single “Sogni” and Japanese composer Yoshiki on the emotional “Miracle.”

“ is a really interesting guy and we got along very well,” she said. “It was a very interesting collaboration with Japan’s most famous rockstar writing a beautiful contemporary classical piece.”

Along with the collaborations, Brightman’s album jumps from classical and cinematic music to pop rhythms in a cohesive album threaded by its spiritual nature. The album also takes fans back to one of her most famous classics “Time to Say Goodbye” with Andrea Bocelli, which she recreates in a touching English rendition.

“I wrote the lyrics for it but they were very much inspired from the original Italian lyrics when translated,” she said. “It’s quite a grand song, it’s almost like an opera song, but I wanted to do this in a very intimate way.”

Fans can purchase tickets for “Hymn: Sarah Brightman in Concert” through her website.

Sad Dog Found Tied to Lamppost with Note from Old Owner Now Ready for a New, Loving Home

It was’t long ago that 8-year-old Sasha was found tied to a lamppost near a medical complex in Clayton, North Carolina.

Tucked into the sad dog’s collar was a note from whoever abandoned the animal, asking that he be given to a “loving home.” Thought the note did not mention why Sasha was surrendered this way, it did mention all the things that make Sasha a great dog: He enjoys head pets, gets along with children and “absolutely loves steaks.”

A cute canine like Sasha didn’t stay tied to the lamppost for long. Joy Frannicola, who is currently caring for the dog, told PEOPLE via email that she was contacted by someone at the medical complex about the lonely pet.

Frannicola is the founder of Ruf Creek Ranch Animal Rescue, an animal rescue and adoption center based in Smithfield, North Carolina. By the time she learned about Sasha, the dog had already been picked up by Johnston County Animal Services and was under a mandatory 72-hour stray hold.

An experienced animal rescuer, Frannicola called up shelter supervisor Graham Price and worked with him to assess Sasha’s health and temperament.

“He was underweight, somewhat lethargic and had hair loss from what we found was a flea allergy,” Frannicola said of what Sasha’s initial check-up revealed. The pup was obviously quite sad, too.

That frown soon turned upside down, however. Thanks to Frannicola and Price’s efforts, along with the assistance from Willowrun Veterinary Hospital, Sasha’s hair is growing back. He has also been neutered, brought up to date on his shots and dewormed.

His heart is healing, too: at Frannicola’s rescue, Sasha is receiving plenty of affection, regular walks and the opportunity to meet new animal friends. Now the only thing that is missing from this pooch’s life is the right forever home.

“He has not been adopted yet. Because of his history (as we know it), we are looking for a specific type of home for him.  He gets along with other dogs, but we would rather he be placed in a situation where he can have a one-on-one relationship with his human, and not have to share affection,” Frannicola said, adding that Sasha recently moved in with his foster mom, Lorna, who hopes to become the dog’s “furever” mom.

“He is curious about his new surroundings, very eager to please. He loves to go on walks and have his head and ears rubbed. He is affectionate, and wants to be near his human. He would be the perfect companion for an older person or couple. Very low maintenance,” Sasha’s hero added about the many traits that make him a wonderful companion.

It is still unclear why someone would leave behind such a sweet dog like Sasha, but Frannicola knows firsthand that pet surrender is not uncommon.

“I cannot begin to think of the reasons his family abandoned him, but the fact that he was left with the note shows that they did care for him and wanted the best for him. The economy here in North Carolina is not good. People are surrendering their pets to county shelters in record numbers,” she said. “Most of the shelters are posting that they are full, and if pets are owner-surrendered, they will most likely be euthanized because of space issues. I am hoping that he was left like he was because they knew the possibility of him being euthanized if surrendered to a shelter.”

Frannicola suggests pet owners who find themselves in this difficult situation reach out to local rescues and no-kill shelters. Rescue groups can likely provide food and supplies to families struggling to keep their pets, and can help owners find fosters or adopters if necessary.

Sotheby’s Paris Preps Fourth Auction of Books From Pierre Bergé’s Personal Library

BERGE’S BOOKENDS: If reading is the key to enlightenment, Pierre Bergé sure had a lot of books to spark his intelligence.
Sotheby’s Paris will hold the fourth auction for a selection of books from Bergé’s personal collection on Dec. 14. Several choice lots are on view at Sotheby’s New York office through Saturday, and they illustrated the myriad interests of the late French business titan: botany, gardens, philosophy, activism and more. The upcoming auction is expected to drum up between 5 million euros and 6 million euros, according to a Sotheby’s spokeswoman.
Literature, the 19th century and music were among the areas of interest covered in prior sales, with the first auction having been held nearly three years ago.
The December sale includes such highlights as Bartholomeus Anglicus’ “Le Propriétaire des choses,” circa 1486. This complete copy of a major medieval encyclopedia is illustrated with 19 large woodcuts, all hand-colored at that time. Bidders will also find Gustave Flaubert’s “Salammbô” from 1863, a first edition that was inscribed by Flaubert to the composer Hector Berlioz.
Another reading relic is Leonhart Fuchs’ “De historia stirpium commentarii insignes” from 1542 that is considered to be the founding treatise of modern botany. The auction house will also

Joe Bananas Makes Leap From Sydney to New York

Kim Bourke and Evan Sturrock are all in.
The co-owners of Joe Bananas, a 40-year-old Australian luxury men’s brand, have picked up stakes, moved halfway around the world to New York and opened their first store on Madison Avenue.
“When Americans dream big, they dream of making it in New York City,” Bourke said. “And when Australians dream big, they dream of making it in New York City.”
And so he and his business partner — and brother-in-law — took the leap of faith, leaving their home, and their two stores in Sydney, to open a 1,600-square-foot space at 943 Madison Avenue, between 74th and 75th streets, next door to The Met Breuer. The store had a soft opening last week and the grand opening is scheduled for Oct. 18.
A peek inside gives the first hint at what makes Joe Bananas different. Although the brand offers a wide range of products, it is best known for its colorful sport coats that are created from limited-edition, handcrafted silk textiles in patterns that are inspired by nature in Australia. It takes 250-300 days on average to weave one bolt of fabric that will in turn produce only six jackets that retail starting at $ 2,800 and go up

Mom Suffers Severe Bruises After Protecting Baby from Hail Storm: ‘I Covered Her with My Body’

An Australia mom was covered in black and blue bruises this week after she and her young daughter became trapped in a hail storm and she had no choice but to shield the baby with her body, reports say.

Fiona Simpson, 23, told The Project that she wasn’t aware of the weather forecast in Queensland before she decided to take her grandmother and 4-month-old daughter, Clara, to a coffee shop on Thursday. When severe rain started picking up, Simpson pulled over to the side of the road, she wrote in a Facebook post. That’s when it started to hail.

“The back window, where Clara was, the whole back window just blew out … glass went everywhere through the car,” the told The Project. “So I took off my seatbelt, climbed through the back and just laid on top of her.”

The hail pelted Simpson’s back, leaving her with bruising to her back, arms and her face. She shared photos of her damaged skin in the Facebook post, writing, “I covered my infant with my body to stop her from getting badly injured.”

“I know I’ll be sore tomorrow,” she added in the post. “I’m just so relived that my daughter and grandmother are alright.”

She added that she’s learned her lesson and will never drive in a hail storm again. In a follow-up post, Simpson wrote that she and Clara were home safe Thursday night. Her grandmother is recovering at a hospital.

“At the end of the day, all that matters is that we’re alive,” she told the Australian Broadcasting Corp. “A car can be replaced and bruises can heal, and we’re just all safe right now.”

Simpson told The Project that Clara only suffered a few bumps and bruises. After the incident, she took the baby to the hospital where Clara was “happy and smiling and giggling and playing.”

“She’ll be alright. She hasn’t even really noticed, to be honest,” Simpson said of her daughter. “We’ll all be fine. We’re tough.”

McDavid said she visited 20 couture houses in search of a wedding gown, before deciding on Dennis Basso, where Burnett was working at the time. “My experience at Dennis Basso with Emily, Dennis and the whole team was so positive, uplifting and I felt that I was part of this design process,” she said.
McDavid’s understanding of fashion started with her great-grandmother, who was a seamstress. Her mother had a keen interest in fashion and took McDavid to her first fashion show around the age of 10. Over the years, McDavid got to know numerous designers through her network, as well as her mother’s, but she said Burnett stood out. So much so that McDavid asked the designer how was it that she was not working independently. Like many designers, the idea of starting a signature company was something

Zac Posen Presents Spring — With a Little Help From Friends

Like lots of designers, Zac Posen wears many hats. In fact, he says it shakes out to 16 collections a year. He designs for Brooks Brothers; recently updated the uniforms at Delta Air Lines; released a cookbook; judges on “Project Runway,” and released a documentary. But it was his namesake label that started it all.
To present that collection for spring 2019, Posen is once again forgoing a traditional runway show — something he has done for several seasons — in favor of images and a film. The difference this season is that the film has a more narrative- and character-driven feeling. Gia Coppola shot the piece, with Maya Hawke as muse. To Posen, Hawke was more than just a subject — both she and Coppola are close personal friends, and Hawke, who was looped in and confirmed while he was still designing the collection, helped to influence his designs for the season. So spring 2019 was a family affair.
“The original Zac girl is a creative free spirit. When I think of my early muses, this collection has almost come full circle to that idea. It’s not grande dame, or overt glamour, there is a new side to it,” he says

The Strange Reason John McCain Refused to Take Direct Flights From Phoenix to D.C. for 30 Years

When federal restrictions prevented airlines from flying directly between Washington, D.C. and any city more than 1,250 miles away, Sen. John McCain took a stand on behalf of his adoptive hometown of Phoenix.

The federal perimeter rule required that all flights to and from Reagan National Airport must be shorter than 1,250 miles, and in 1999, the six-term senator led an effort to repeal it, hoping this would improve business for Phoenix-based airline America West and benefit Arizona in general, according to Travel + Leisure. The flight between Phoenix and Washington, D.C. is 1,979 miles.

RELATED VIDEO: Senator John McCain Dies at Age 81

The Vietnam vet’s bill failed, but it did encourage Congress to start making “beyond-perimeter exemptions.” Starting in 2000, America West began service from Reagan National Airport to Phoenix, USA Today reports, but McCain never boarded the flight.

RELATED: Sen. John McCain, Former POW, Opened Up to PEOPLE About His Faith in God and His Country

Some opponents of the senator suggested McCain’s efforts to eliminate the rule were to shorten his commute, not to benefit the people of Arizona, something he felt he couldn’t stand for.

“To John, that was such an abhorrent thing to be accused of, he just took it off the table and said, ‘OK, I won’t fly it,”’ American Airlines CEO Doug Parker, then the CEO of America West, told USA Today. “I don’t think any other member would make that statement.”

RELATED: John McCain ‘Was Sharp as Hell and Tougher Than a $ 2 Steak,’ Says Former Colleague

McCain’s stubbornness once got in the way of his professional commitments, Parker shared. The late senator was flying to an event where he was slated to introduce then-President George W. Bush, but his connecting flight was canceled.

The man who would stand in for him, another Arizona Republican, had taken the direct flight.

“He wouldn’t take the nonstop even to get to an event on time,” Parker said.

Sen. Jeff Flake, also a Republic from Arizona, backed up Parker’s story about McCain’s commitment, as well. Flake began his career in Washington, D.C, in 2001, it wasn’t until “years and years” later that McCain finally took the direct flight.

RELATED: John McCain’s Mom, 106, Is ‘Proud’ of His Legacy — But It’s ‘Tough’ to ‘Bury Your Child’: Source

Flake remembers that when he decided to make the switch, he said, “I’ve done my penance, I guess.”

Parker said that one of the first times Sen. McCain used the direct flight was to arrive home in time to see one of his seven children graduate. When there wasn’t any controversy afterward, Parker recalled McCain thought, “OK, no one seems to care. I think the statute of limitations has run out.”

RELATED: John McCain Wanted ‘Danny Boy’ Sung at His Funeral, Says Friend Who Helped Plan Services

Sen. McCain died on Saturday at age 81, one day after his family announced that he would be stopping treatment for his stage-four brain cancer. He was diagnosed in July 2017.

“Last summer, Senator John McCain shared with Americans the news our family already knew: he had been diagnosed with an aggressive glioblastoma, and the prognosis was serious,” the family’s statement said. “In the year since, John has surpassed expectations for his survival. But the progress of disease and the inexorable advance of age render their verdict. With his usual strength of will, he has now chosen to discontinue medical treatment.”

Sen. McCain will be laid to rest on Saturday at the U.S. Naval Academy Cemetery in Annapolis, Maryland, with a private service at the National Cathedral beforehand. On Friday, there will be a public viewing in the United States Capitol before a procession from to the Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial.

Dog Friends Rescued from ‘Bad Situation’ Insist on Cuddling at All Times

Charity and Suzy Q have been through a lot — but at least they have each other.

Pit bull mix Charity and Miniature Pinscher/Chihuahua mix Suzy Q were recently seized from their former owner, along with two other dogs, and brought to Mississippi’s Jackson County Animal Shelter, where they quickly caught the eye of adoption coordinator Maridee Bond Mallette.

“Every time I pass, they’re always laying together in some new, adorable position,” she tells PEOPLE of the bonded pair.

Charity and Suzy Q were brought into the shelter in sorry shape. Mallette said both dogs arrived from a “bad situation” dirty, skinny, infested with fleas and battling demodex — a parasite that lives in the hair follicles and causes hair loss. Charity is almost completely bald.

After coming from all this negativity, it seems Charity and Suzy Q have found one positive: they’re together.

And things are only getting better. Staff at Jackson County Animal Shelter, which serves the county and its surrounding cities, have bathed the dogs, trimmed their nails and provided them with the care they desperately need. The canine companions will soon be on their way to Third Coast Rescue, where they will be able to receive even more attention and work on finding a forever home.

Since this pair is obviously bonded, Jackson County Animal Shelter and Third Coast Rescue want the dogs to eventually be adopted together. Before the buddies move to a new home, they will be fully vetted by the rescue and placed in a foster home to heal and grow their hair back.

Once Charity and Suzy Q are their best selves, they can start the exciting process of finding their perfect pet parents.

Inside Eddie Murphy’s Rollercoaster Love Life: From Dating a Spice Girl to Baby No. 10

At 57, Eddie Murphy is set to soon become a father of 10 with his girlfriend Paige Butcher expecting her second child in December.

Since Murphy broke through on the comedy scene in the 1980s, he’s been connected to multiple women and fostered a large, loving family.

In the wake of his latest baby news, here’s a look back on his romantic connections over the decades.

Mid-1980s
Murphy meets Whitney Houston and the two had a quiet romance. “I watched them once at a party,” family friend and employee Ellen White told PEOPLE. “Eddie came in, cameras were flashing and they just looked at each other and talked and laughed like they were the only two people in the room.”

1988He meets future wife Nicole Mitchell.

1989
The Oscar nominee is connected to Paulette McNeely and they welcome Murphy’s oldest son Eric, now 29, in July of that year. Murphy’s oldest daughter and first child with Mitchell, Bria, is born in November of that year.

1990
In November, Murphy’s girlfriend Tamara Hood gives birth to his son Christian, now 27.

1993
Murphy and Mitchell tie the knot in January and welcome Myles, now 25, in November.

1994
Their daughter Shayne Audra, 23, is born in October.

1997
The former Saturday Night Live cast member gets stopped by police at 4:45am after picking up a transvestite prostitute, born a male but identifying as a female, at a homosexual prostitution spot in West Hollywood. Police found that no illegal activity occurred on Murphy’s end, but the sex worker was picked up on an outstanding prostitution warrant. Murphy later claimed he was just giving her a ride home.

1999–2002
Murphy and his wife stay together and go on to have two more kids, daughters Zola Ivy, 18, and Bella Zahra, 16.

2006
Murphy announces he and Nicole are divorcing. “The welfare of our children is our main concern and their best interest is our first priority,” he said in a statement issued by his rep, Paul Bloc.

After the breakup, Murphy starts seeing former Spice Girl Melanie Brown and businesswoman Tracey Edmonds.

2007
Brown and the comedian welcome a daughter together, Angel Iris, now 11. Murphy publicly questioned Angel’s paternity, but a DNA test proved he is in fact her dad.

2008
Murphy marries Edmonds — who has two kids with ex-husband Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds — in a nonlegally binding ceremony on a private French Polynesian island on New Year’s Day, only to split up two weeks later. Sources suggested at the time that Edmonds didn’t get along with Murphy’s mom Lillian Lynch, and that the TV personality didn’t want to take the Daddy Day Care star’s last name.

2010
Murphy is spotted out with actress Maya Gilbert.

2012
Amid rumors that he’s dating Toni Braxton, Murphy tells Access Hollywood they’re “just friends.” Murphy is then linked with Australian model Butcher, who is 19 years his junior.

2016
Butcher gives birth to their first child together, Izzy Oona, in May.

2018
After being seen out in Los Angeles numerous times over the summer with a baby bump, a rep for Murphy confirms on Aug. 27 that Butcher, 39, and Murphy are expecting their second baby, his 10th, in December.

Camera Captures Passenger’s Rescue from Car Engulfed in Flames: ‘Pull Him Out, Pull Him Out’

Police body camera footage captured the dramatic rescue of a passenger inside a burning car in Atlanta early Sunday, PEOPLE confirms.

The vehicle, a sedan, first caught fire when it struck a metal utility pole before sunrise, police said. The resulting flames from the collision engulfed the car.

Responding bystanders were able to successfully pull several occupants out of the vehicle before police arrived. But when officers got on the scene, the front-seat passenger was still stuck inside, appearing unconscious and unable to exit.

Video from one of the officers’ body cameras showed what happened next, around 4 a.m. Sunday: Police used fire extinguishers while plying the car door, eventually removing the occupant and carrying him to safety.

Officer Brittany Williams told ABC News she said to the passenger: “You’re leg is about to catch on fire, you need to pull it together and just give me whatever you have left.”

“You gotta get the door,” one person shouted in the video.

“Pull him out, pull him out,” another screamed.

Three people were transported to a local hospital in stable condition following the rescue, authorities said.
In a statement to PEOPLE, an Atlanta police spokesman praised the speed and courage of the officers.

“They acted quickly and with determination and ultimately were able to remove the passenger before he sustained further injury,” Officer Jarius Daughterty said. “We are also thankful for the actions of the citizens who stopped and assisted immediately after the accident.”

“This accident could have been much worse than it was where it not for the actions of the citizens and officers who put aside concern for their own safety and acted to help those in need,” Daughterty continued.

Investigators are working to determine what led to the crash and who was driving the vehicle at the time, Atlanta police said Monday.

Speaking with ABC, Williams said that after the rescue, “We literally like gave each other a hug at the end of it because we were just so overwhelmed.”

Dior Amour: From the Supernatural to the Sublime

It’s a well-known fact that Christian Dior was a very superstitious man. The designer, who suffered from anxiety, was known to carry at all times a small cluster of talismans in his pocket: a lucky four-leaf clover, piece of wood, gold coin, star and two hearts. Those symbols inspired Dior creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri’s Dior Amour collection, which will be sold exclusively at Holt Renfrew in Vancouver and a dedicated pop-up shop at Holt’s store at Yorkdale Shopping Centre in Toronto, from Aug. 4 to Aug. 20.
In addition to the Canadian retailer, Dior Amour will be available on Aug. 4 in China, in time for the Chinese equivalent of Valentine’s Day, the Qixi Festival, which is celebrated on Aug. 17.
The operative color at the dedicated spaces at the two Holt Renfrew locations is a deep, ripe red for fixtures, walls and furniture. Lest anyone forget what the theme is, framed hearts complete the decor.
Ready-to-wear, priced from $ 970, includes knit sweaters with heart symbols and others inscribed with J’aDior Amour; red Swiss dot skirts; and bomber jackets decorated with patches, such as a heart with the message “Open Your Heart” inside. Scream Mega Fans Rent Out the House from the Film to Recreate the Iconic Final Party Screen

Scream lovers can have the scare of their life — at a price.

Die-hard fans Anthony Masi and Nate Ragon reportedly spent $ 22,000 to rent out the 5 bedrooms, 4 bathroom Santa Rosa, CA home from the horror movie Scream to recreate the final party scene for a Halloween celebration, according to TMZ.

But the duo plan doesn’t plan to keep the horror nostalgia to themselves, they are throwing a big spooky bash — just like the characters did in the film.

However, while many who attended the party in the 1996 film paid with their lives, this party will be a ticketed event named Scream Comes Home.

Taking place the weekend before Halloween, the party will allow guests to experience the movie in real life as Masi and Ragon plan to fill the house with scary surprises and memorabilia from the film.

“The movie, SCREAM, was filmed in Santa Rosa, California, and the last act of the movie was filmed in a single location… a large house in Tomales, a little town adjacent to Santa Rosa. This house was known as ‘Stu’s house’ in the script, and the screenplay referred to the length showdown ending as SCENE 118,” Masi and Ragon wrote on the event’s website.

When filmmakers finished filming it, they had T-shirts made up that said, ‘I survived Scene 118.’”

Tickets start at $ 200 for basic entry, but fans also had the option to purchase the overnight package for $ 1750, which sold out in just two days. And for those who really want to be scared, they can have the guy behind Ghost Face’s voice actually call their cell phones.

“Have you ever wondered what it would be like if Ghost Face gave YOU a call? Now you’ll be able to find out because voiceover artist Roger Jackson– the voice of Ghost Face in all four SCREAM films- has agreed to call fans and talk to them just like he does in the movies!” the site explained.

The original film — which spawned three sequels and an MTV television series — starred Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox and David ArquetteDrew Barrymore also had a cameo in the iconic movie.

Lola Burstein-Rykiel Drawing Inspiration From Modern Dance Pioneer Loie Fuller for Maison St. Germain

For its October installation in Paris, Maison St. Germain has turned to Lola Burstein-Rykiel.
As creative director for the upcoming project, she is culling ideas from her hometown to imagine a multiscale experience for the elderflower liqueur. Still in the early stages of developing the art installation, Burstein-Rykiel said “an abundance of flowers and sensuality creates this ephemeral joy” that she can connect with. Another starting point is Loie Fuller’s Serpentine dance, a lasting image of the Art Nouveau Movement first performed in Paris at the Folies Bergère in 1892.
As a former student at Martha Graham’s Dance School, Burstein-Rykiel reviewed old videos of Fuller dancing the Serpentine. “Loie was just so beautiful. She transformed herself from a flower to a butterfly to a woman just by her doing it herself with her costumes and the lighting. That’s what was so interesting. It was not just the choreography. The costume, the lighting and the movement is as important as the rest. It was like a surreal art performance before her time,” Burstein-Rykiel said. “She pushed the limits back in choosing to do everything by herself. When I was looking at her dance, I was like ‘Whoa, this looks a bit like an

Fortnite Has Reportedly Made over $1 Billion from In-Game Purchases

At this point, it’s essentially common knowledge that Fortnite is an outrageously successful video game. But market research firm SuperData Research has now put another quantitative measure on just how successful Fortnite is.

A new SuperData report (via GamesIndustry.biz) shows that Fortnite has made more than $ 1 billion off in-game purchases alone. The report also claimed Fortnite is only growing in popularity overall, with an upward trend since October 2017 that saw a huge spike in February that only started slowing in May while still continuing upwards. That slowed May growth was still good enough for a whopping $ 318 million in revenue.

MGM is said to be developing a Child’s Play remake with the producers behind Stephen King’s IT.

THR reports MGM is fast-tracking the film, with production set to begin in September. IT’s David Katzenberg and Seth Grahame-Smith will produce.

Walmart Removes Anti-Trump Apparel From Web Site

Bowing to pressure from supporters of President Trump, Walmart Inc. removed T-shirts for adults and onesies for infants bearing the legend “Impeach 45.” The items, listed on walmart.com, drew the ire of conservatives, who encouraged consumers via social media to shun the retail giant, with #BoycottWalmart trending on Twitter.
“These items were sold by third-party sellers on our open marketplace and were not offered directly by Walmart,” said a spokeswoman for the retailer. “We’re removing these types of items pending review of our marketplace policies.”
Walmart continues to sell Make America Great Again merchandise, the slogan Trump made popular with his constituency during the presidential campaign.
No sooner did Walmart remove the Impeach 45 merchandise from its web site Tuesday afternoon than Daily Snark posted, “Walmart bowed to pressure. We won’t. If you want an Impeach 45 shirt, here you go.” The post contained a link to Amazon.com and a men’s Impeach Trump T-shirt for $ 19.99, women and kids, $ 17.99, as well as other anti-Trump apparel such as a Dotard-in-Chief T-shirt, $ 18.99, and sweatshirt that reads, “Very Stable Genius,” $ 39.99.
Walmart’s Twitter feed included Jonnyg137’s comment, “Stop giving your dollars to @Walmart. Those #LiberalLogic anti-patriot crackpots need to know that #Conservative #america won’t stand

Commes des Garçons Shirt Draws Inspiration From University of Cincinnati and Appalachian State University

Logo appropriation is no joke with most organizations, but the University of Cincinnati didn’t sound rattled after Commes des Garçons Shirt used its bearcats logo.
After seeing an image of a shirt featuring the logo on a male model on the runway on Paris, Marty Ludwig, the university’s director of trademarks and licensing, said, “The material they used was produced by one of our licensees, Fabrique Innovations. It’s typically used for blankets, throws and things like that.”
Although they are still looking into the matter, Ludwig said Commes des Garçons wouldn’t face any penalty for using the logo without the university’s consent. “As far as having it available and having it shown on the runway, we think it’s great,” he said. “Obviously, we’d like to know that beforehand but I don’t have any concerns. They didn’t do any harm to our brand. They didn’t alter our marks in any way. But we do have follow-up that we’re trying to work on with them if they want to move forward and actually produce product — beyond just putting product on a runway.”
Executives at Commes des Garçons did not respond to requests for comment.
Uncertain if the University of Cincinnati licensee “sold it to the

LaMelo Ball horrid from 3-point range in Junior Basketball Association

SportsPulse: The former NBA point guard had a blast filming with costars Kyrie Irving, Shaquille O'Neal, Reggie Miller and others. LaMelo Ball, touted as the marquee player of the Junior Basketball Association (JBA), is doing something extraordinary. Extraordinary awful. Three games into the inaugural season of the JBA — a league started by LaVar Ball for NBA hopefuls who don’t want to play college basketball — LaMelo Ball is 3-for-32 (9.3 percent) from 3-point range, including 0-for-16 in the past two games. Ball, 16, was 0-for-9 from 3-point range Friday in a 130-108 loss to the New York Ballers that dropped Los Angeles’ record to 2-1. He is averaging 41 points on 38.3 percent shooting from
