The groom has arrived!

Gwyneth Paltrow‘s fiancé Brad Falchuk was spotted driving himself in a red SUV to their wedding on Saturday.

The 47-year-old television producer looked dapper in a slate gray suit and dark sunglasses as he was greeted by valet at the Hamptons event.

Close behind him was a good friend of the couple, Jerry Seinfeld, who drove up in his own vehicle. Seinfeld, 64, hosted the couple’s rehearsal dinner at his East Hampton estate on Friday night.

Other famous friends, including Steven Spielberg and Robert Downey Jr. were seen arriving as well.

Cameron Diaz and husband Benji Madden were also in attendance. Madden, 39, was photographed arriving while carrying a suit bag.

Earlier on Friday, Paltrow, 46, and Falchuk were spotted out in the Hamptons running some last minute errands separately as their big day approached.

A source told PEOPLE, “Gwyneth and Brad both look very happy.

“They spent most of the day apart,” the insider continued. “Gwyneth is very involved in the wedding set up, but at the same time seems very chilled.”

The source added, “She also seems very excited!”

The two had an engagement party in April while in Los Angeles, which was a star-studded gathering with guests such as Ryan Murphy (who hosted the bash), Demi Moore, Julia Roberts and Kate Hudson, to name a few.

I’m excited about everything!” the actress told PeopleStyle. “I’ve never had a wedding before. So even though I’m 45, I sort of feel like a 21-year-old.”

Bonpoint Gets Guests Reminiscing About Childhood

HAPPY DAYS: Bonpoint’s show Wednesday afternoon at the Palais de Tokyo had guests musing about childhood. Appropriately so, it turns out: The venue was chosen so that guests could afterward meander through the “Another Banana Day for the Dream-fish” exhibition about childhood currently on show there, sponsored by the luxury children’s wear label.
Laure Hériard Dubreuil’s four-year-old son Marcel was walking the show for the first time. “I’m very nervous, much more nervous than he is,” she shared beforehand.
There was no need — most of the kids on the tree-lined runway looked to be having a ball, with two youngsters squirting each other with water pistols as they walked, another scooting around on a skateboard, his scuffed Vans proving that it was not just for show.
Hériard Dubreuil’s favorite childhood memories are of spending family time in the cognac region – her family produces the Rémy Martin brand. “Having lots of brothers and sisters and having a farm,” she said. “And getting drunk from the vapors of the cognac coming out of the barrels.”
For Lauren Santo Domingo, it was about being carefree. “Just being outdoors and free and unscheduled,” she said. “That would be nice.”

Sheriff Invites Guests To His Wedding In Criminally Funny Way

A sheriff invited guests to his wedding in the best way he knew how.

Rather than send out a traditional invite, the law enforcer and his bride -to-be issued their friends and family with a highly realistic spoof summons:

At first glance, the fake “Notice to Appear” bears a striking resemblance to a citation. But on closer inspection, it’s clear that it’s actually an invite to the nuptials of two people identified as Matt and Nancy on May 26.

Reddit user Exsupervillain shared two photographs of the invite online Thursday, and the images are now going viral. “My aunt is marrying a sheriff,” the Redditor wrote. “Their invitation nearly gave everyone a heart attack.”

Not much else is known about the invitation, its legitimacy or the couple named in the post. The Huffington Post has reached out for further information.

Couple Surprises Wedding Guests With An Epic One-Take Music Video

Newlyweds Robert and Teresa Ly know how to have a good time.

That couldn’t have been more evident at their August 22 wedding in Maitland, Florida. During the reception, the couple shot a surprise music video that included dancing and lip-syncing along with their 250 guests. Oh, and they filmed the whole thing in a single take.

Teresa told The Huffington Post that she and Robert considered doing a dance with just the bridal party, but decided against it because they wanted to include as many of their family and friends as possible.

“Robert and I stand for fun in our business and personal life so when it came time to plan our wedding, we wanted it to be fun for not only ourselves, but ultimately all our guests,” she said.

Under each table at the reception was an envelope that told guests what their role in the video would be.

“Each person in our bridal party was in charge of a song/section,” the bride told HuffPost. “They helped put our guests into position and briefed them for about 10 minutes. They really didn’t know what was about to happen.”

The music medley kicks off with Frozen’s “Love Is An Open Door,” followed by other jams including Silentò’s “Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae),” T. Swift’s “Shake It Off,” Maroon 5’s “Sugar” and a sweet finale to Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud.”

“Our guests had a blast!” the bride said. “Before the wedding reception, we had already made the claim that it was going to be epic and I think we did a pretty good job at delivering on our promise.”

Watch the awesomeness above.

Oregon Wedding Featuring Weed Bar Was A Huge ‘Hit’ With Guests

This wasn’t your typical weeding… er, wedding.

For their matrimonial ceremony this summer, Oregon couple John Elledge and Whitney Alexander decided to augment the standard open bar with a ”weed tent.” The experience included transportation to and from the event (safety first!) and a budtender to help guests in need of a little guidance.

Thanks to Oregon Measure 91, the weed tent was completely legal, as long as the couple followed some basic rules, Mark Pettinger of the Oregon Liquor Control Commission told Portland news station KGW.

“On private property where no liquor license is involved, it is legal,” Pettinger said, noting that “there cannot be bartenders and budtenders” at the same event.

“My fiance, John, has been in the medical marijuana industry in Oregon for years,” Alexander told The Huffington Post, explaining the inspiration. ”We were happy to give our guests, especially the ones from out of town, a unique experience.”

Alexander added that she doesn’t use alcohol or marijuana, and the couple took extra care to reduce the odds of other guests encountering any secondhand smoke.

“The tent was set well away from the rest of the reception, and facing away from the crowd to control where the smoke went,” she said. “There were actually guests that had no idea it was there until after the fact.”

Wedding planners Nora Sheils and Elizabeth Corr of Bridal Bliss said the novelty of the weed bar was a huge hit.

“We were worried that the tent might take away from the reception but it did the exact opposite,” Sheils told HuffPost in an email. ”Guests had a fun time and ended up dancing the night away, just like any other wedding.”

And yes, the couple did provide late-night snacks, offering their undoubtedly hungry guests an array of french fries and beignets.

A Comprehensive List Of Taylor Swift’s ‘1989’ Tour Guests So Far

Forget “My Little Pony” — Taylor Swift’s special-guest roster on her “1989” tour proves friendship is magic.

Thanks to Instagram and Twitter, the celebrities and musicians she invites on stage each night have become as expected as her shiny outfits and smooth backup dancers. In the beginning, Swift’s invitees were slightly more expected: ladies from her much-‘grammed crew, or musical acts that could use Swift’s star power to reach a bigger audience.

But when unexpected, er, friends started to pop up — the U.S. Women’s Soccer Team? Joan Baez?? Kobe Bryant??? — it was hard to keep track of just how many famous faces graced the many stadiums Swift set foot in. Here’s a list of all the celeb cameos we’ve seen on the “1989” tour as of Monday. (A * denotes that they sang, too.)

  • Gigi Hadid (Detroit, London, East Rutherford)
  • Martha Hunt (Detroit, London)

11 Animals At Weddings Who Are Better Dressed Than Guests

By Rachel Torgerson for TheKnot.com

Sorry, but we just can’t resist rounding up our favorite pictures of animals attending weddings. We get new ones every day, and they’re just way too cute not to share. Whether it’s Burrito the donkey who loves cheesing for the camera at Arizona weddings, Spicy the pup who walked with a human ring bearer down the ceremony aisle, or Rosie the bunny who wished she could rock her wedding floral collar every day, animals who attend weddings in people clothes are probably one of the cutest things out there.

So here are the 12 best-dressed animals from our real weddings gallery, in no particular order.

1. This pooch who stole the show in his on-trend mint bow tie:

5. This bunny in a flower collar, because animal posts don’t always have to be all about dogs:

LOVELY AND LIGHT

The florist at this South Carolina wedding even made a special pet floral collar for Rosie the bunny with bright pink, orange and purple roses.

Jennifer and Jeremy’s rescue dogs Kote and Otis were also given a special part in the ceremony. “Everyone knows how much we love our rescue dogs, they are like our children,” says Jennifer. The dogs were walked down the aisle so each could be kissed by Jeremy. “It was a sweet moment that we will always cherish,” says Jennifer.

7. This dog, who walked in tandem with a human ring bearer — hard to tell who is cuter here!

What “Obligations” Do Brides and Grooms Have to Their Wedding Guests?

Mothers of brides and grooms can get really ridiculous sometimes when they’re trying to get their own way – but it gives me GREAT blog material! I recently received an “Ask Sandy” request from a Mother of the Groom who wanted me to explain to her son and soon-to-be daughter-in-law that they “have an obligation” to their wedding guests to stay at the destination for a few days after the wedding to entertain those who have travelled a great distance to celebrate with them.

The bride and groom want to depart for their honeymoon the morning after their wedding, and this MoG was hoping I’d tell her she’s totally right and that the bride and groom are being tacky “abandoning” their guests. But she’s wrong. Totally WRONG.

Brides and grooms at destination weddings (or anywhere else they choose to get married) have zero obligation to their wedding guests after the wedding reception is over. Sure, some may choose to have farewell brunches or other day-after events, but that’s totally their prerogative. If they just want to escape alone the next day, that’s perfectly acceptable too.

The Exception to the Rule: The only time a bride and groom can’t run away right after the wedding is if they’re DIYing the wedding and they are responsible for making sure cleanup and teardown happens after the wedding. It’s really one of the biggest things I did wrong in my own destination wedding planning. By departing the next day early, I stuck my mom with having to ship back all the leftover mess of my big day. She spent the couple of days of vacation she’d planned for herself dealing with the cleanup and teardown. So if you’re planning your own wedding, you have to stay long enough to clean up the mess you made, or you have to ask somebody, IN ADVANCE, to be responsible for all of that.

Let’s assume the bride and groom don’t have any DIY-type jobs to do after the wedding. In this case, traditionally they should wing away somewhere else, away from the guests, to spend their first week of married life together alone, enjoying only each other. Not all brides and grooms choose to honeymoon immediately following their destination wedding – in fact, it’s more and more common to delay it. But not because you feel like you have to stick around to play host and hostess to your out-of-town guests.

Brides and grooms do have some responsibilities regarding entertaining their guests. Most of it is just good manners, but let’s discuss five specific “obligations” you really do have:

1. Provide good information and directions to all of your wedding events.
If transportation is provided, tell them when and where to be. Maps can be very helpful if you have a lot of out-of-town guests. If you’re getting married someplace most people have never been, additional information about the location, shopping and activities in the welcome packet is appreciated. Make sure the info on your wedding website actually matches the schedule of events you’ve presented your guests so you don’t confuse people and have guests miss the actual ceremony.

2. Show up on time to each and every wedding event you host. Most of your guests will be on time and it’s rude to make them stand around waiting for you, even with a cocktail in hand. For welcome parties this is especially important if you have some guests who don’t know any of the other guests. It’s your job to introduce your guests to one another and greet all of them.

3. Talk to every one of your guests at every event. Even if you’re not excited about some of your parents’ friends who are there, they are attending in your honor and you are obligated to show enthusiasm and chat with them an appropriate amount. They are still YOUR GUESTS, regardless of whomever put them on the invitation list.

4. Plan something special with your out-of-town guests if you’re getting married at home so that you get to spend some real time with them. Many traditional at-home weddings only include a rehearsal dinner in addition to the wedding day festivities. If you have extended family you never see coming to town, a family get-together with your fiancé’s family might be something to consider adding. If your sorority sisters are together for the first time in 15 years, a lunch might be fun. Make an effort to plan something that allows you more time than the quick hug and 20 seconds of chat time you’ll realistically have at the actual wedding reception.

5. Thank and say goodbye to each and every guest at your wedding reception. It’s easy to get bogged down in a group of your closest besties, but it’s important to remember that everyone at your wedding deserves acknowledgment and thanks when the main event is finished. Don’t disappear quickly after the last dance to change dresses for your after-party – you have to say goodbye to all of the older guests who might not be planning to head out to the bar with you til the wee hours. Only after you have said goodbye to each guest can you make your escape.

At that point, you can go out and party with your friends, or leave on a honeymoon, or do anything else you like. You have no more “obligations” to your guests. If you’ve planned a day-after event, you have to drag your butt out of bed and look presentable and attend because IT’S A PARTY FOR YOU. But you helped plan it and you know it’s happening so a hangover is no excuse. The guests of honor must be there, even if it’s only to get a mimosa as quickly as possible.

If you do not want to have a day-after event, make that clear to both sets of your parents at the outset so that they don’t plan something you don’t want to attend. That doesn’t mean that your mom might not still host her besties for a breakfast, but it won’t be something they’re expecting the bride and groom to attend so there’s no letdown factor when you don’t show.

I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the responsibility you have after the wedding to write thank you notes in a timely manner. Some people say it’s alright to wait six months but I disagree. Most people will have given you an envelope or sent the gift via online registry, and until they receive an acknowledgment of the gift, they worry you didn’t receive it. This is especially important for monetary gifts given during the wedding festivities, but really, everyone wants to know you got their wedding present. Make the time to write the notes as fast as you can after you get back to real life. And if you can’t get them all written well and quickly, pop off a few emails to let folks know you did receive their gift and will be sending a note but you didn’t want them to worry about whether it had arrived. And then write the note anyway, even if they tell you it’s unnecessary. It’s totally necessary.

I love it when the questions people send me inspire fun blogs like this one. It was a good question – I just doubt the Mother of the Groom was pleased with my answer.

Until next time, happy wedding planning from Weddings in Vieques and Sandy Malone Weddings & Events!
