Is Tommy Headed to Paris to Show?

FRENCH FLAG: Tommy Hilfiger is said to be eyeing Paris for his February “see-now-buy now” show. It is understood that the Chambre Syndicale, the organizer of the official fashion week, won’t make its decision until the end of this month if the designer can join its official calendar.
Hilfiger is reportedly looking to show his Tommy x Zendaya capsule collection in Paris as part of his see-now-buy-now extravaganzas. His globe-trotting shows, which have catapulted the brand’s social media engagement, have taken place in New York, Los Angeles, London and Milan.
Meanwhile, word has it that Hilfiger has already decided to return to his hometown in September and is considering the Apollo Theater in Harlem.
A spokeswoman for Hilfiger declined to comment on both the February and September events.
It was reported earlier this month that Ralph Lauren was entertaining the idea of showing in Paris in February, but a Ralph Lauren spokesman said Thursday the designer has decided against that idea. He plans to show in New York, although further details weren’t available.

Guess Farmers Market Headed to Paris, London, Tokyo and More

THE SEQUEL: Guess Inc.’s Guess Jeans U.S.A. revealed details of where its roving Farmers Market pop-up concept is set to go next.
The company in May launched the Farmers Market concept — a weekend-long force of exclusive streetwear drops and collaborations, skateboard demonstrations, food and live music — with Nicolai Marciano, who handles brand partnerships and specialty marketing for Guess, disclosing to WWD at the time the concept would indeed hit the road internationally, but didn’t reveal much beyond that.
Guess said Monday the concept would be a mix of pop-ups with exclusives also to be sold through some retailers this month and next. Exact dates have yet to be revealed.
The pop-up concept, which will be a scaled-down version of what was seen in Los Angeles, is set to make its way to Paris at Club 75, Selfridges in London, GR8 in Tokyo, Lessons in Perth and Dover Street Market in Singapore.
International retailers set to receive pieces from the capsule collection include Slamjam in Milan, Luisa Via Roma in Florence, Juice in Hong Kong and online via the Innersect App based out of China.
The idea for the Farmers Market was born out of Guess Jeans USA, which parent Guess calls its incubator

Jaclyn Stapp’s Blog: I’m in the Home Stretch of My Pregnancy – and (Hopefully) Headed to the Hospital Soon!

Jaclyn Stapp is going to be a mom – again!

The wife of Grammy winner Scott Stapp is currently expecting their third child and second son together, whom they plan to name Anthony. The couple are already parents to Daniel Issam, 7, plus daughter Milán Hayat, 10. Scott, 44, also has a 19-year-old son named Jagger.

The Creed and Art of Anarchy rocker recently wrapped a solo tour, and is writing new music during his downtime. Former Miss New York USA Jaclyn, 37, is focused on CHARM, her nonprofit charity that provides education and support to underprivileged children.

The spouses revealed to PEOPLE exclusively in June that they will welcome another baby into the family, and shared gorgeous photos from their elegant “Royal Prince”-themed baby shower in October.

You can follow Jaclyn on Instagram @jaclynstapp and Twitter @mrsjstapp.

Are we there yet? Well, not quite. I went from 1 centimeter to 2, and now it’s 3! “Three centimeters, do I hear 4? Four centimeters?” Sounds like an auction!

The numbers drive me nuts because they don’t match how I feel. While this sweet child wants out, his kicks and turns — not to mention his pressure on my bladder at 2 a.m. — remind me of how ready I feel to welcome him to the family.

But we’re not quite there yet. However, there is good news and very good news!

Good news is that the baby is healthy, Daddy and kids went through the drill with the hospital tour, everyone is manning their stations, the school is notified about Milán and Daniel’s pickup, we’ve called the pediatrician and we are now standing by, very ready for Sir Anthony’s arrival.

The very good news is that God almighty is great — I still have energy! How? I can’t explain it, but I have been packing and unpacking, sometimes over-packing, then repacking. It’s even funnier with big sister and brother helping me pack and sort out the baby’s clothes.

I could swear it wasn’t this complicated packing for our two-week vacation last year. The nursery is ready, the house is safe, everything is child- and drool-proofed again. It seems like the total interior of the house is padded. Lord help me when it’s time to remove the sticky padding or the cabinet locks that chipped my nails — and especially the fort-looking baby gates that the dogs hate!

Nonetheless, Anthony is sitting cozy, hugging me tight. I imagine he will suddenly decide at 3 a.m., just as I get back in bed positioned comfortably and fall asleep into deep REM, he will decide to make his grand entrance. It’s okay — I have been as ready as a fireman for that alarm. I’m on autopilot, ready to jump into my boots and head to the hospital. Just in case, I even have Uber on speed dial.

I have been called a rough tough cream puff, and I can do this. Right now, baby is holding on, taking his time, while I am ready to make time!

The excitement is building up, and family and friends are waiting for the ball — I mean baby — to drop! Aunts, uncles, cousins and Grandmom all want a piece of Anthony. He feels like a 10-pounder, so I am sure there will be enough of him to go around.

I am just hoping after he is born, my scale will reflect that 10 lbs. plus, and that I can learn to go back to eating for one again! I can’t wait to be able to look down and see my toes again.

The Most Iconic Costume From Grease Is Headed to Auction

Olivia Newton-John just let it slip that her most iconic outfit from Grease will hit the auction block sometime soon. The actress told US Weekly that she has plans to auction her “leather ensemble” in order to raise funds for the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre, based in Melbourne, Australia.

There’s no way that the costume she’s referring to isn’t the super-sexy leggings and off-the-shoulder top she wore to reveal her bad-girl side to Danny at the graduation carnival, right? The pants were so tight that she reportedly had to be sewn into them before filming; after, she took them as a parting gift.

Newton-John’s talked about a desire to sell off the pants to raise funds for her charity before, telling Oprah about her intention while bringing the skinnies along for a show visit back in 2011.

‘Duck Dynasty’ Musical Headed For Las Vegas Stage

Duck Dynasty” is making the leap from the small screen to the stage, with reports that a musical based on the controversial family is headed to Las Vegas.

The musical, from the production company behind “Jersey Boys,” will be a semi-biographical show based on Willie and Korie Robertson’s book, “The Duck Commander Family: How Faith, Family, and Ducks Built a Dynasty,” The Hollywood Reporter said.

The show will not star the Robertson family, but instead feature actors playing members of the family, the website reported.

The New York Times says the 90-minute, 14-song show will likely open in February at The Rio, which is currently home to Penn & Teller’s live show as well as a Chippendales performance.

I think the expectation is that it’ll be all chicken-pickin’ stuff and banjos, but what we’re trying to do is pull out as much heart, humor and sincerity as we can to keep people surprised,” Steven Morris, one of the show’s composers, told the newspaper.

The Times also reports that anti-gay remarks from family patriarch Phil Robertson will be addressed in the show.

In an interview with GQ last year, Phil Robertson compared homosexuality to bestiality and said African-Americans were happy before the civil rights era.

Robertson later issued an apology, but has continued to make controversial remarks. In June, he claimed he was “trying to help those poor souls and turn them to Jesus” and in September said he’s as much of a homophobe as Jesus. He has also claimed that AIDS and sexually transmitted diseases are God’s “penalty” for immoral conduct.

“The Robertsons are so unusual, their story so juicy, and theater shouldn’t be limited to telling stories about people you resemble or revere,” producer Michael David, who said he was personally offended by the comments, told the Times.

Season 7 of “Duck Dynasty” premieres next week on A&E.

Michelle Obama’s Second Inauguration Dress Headed To Smithsonian

WASHINGTON (AP) — Michelle Obama’s fashion is making history again, at least for the next year, as her second inaugural gown will be displayed at the Smithsonian Institution.

Before it’s stowed away for a future presidential library, Obama’s ruby-colored chiffon gown made by designer Jason Wu is being lent to the National Museum of American History for a year to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the Smithsonian’s first ladies exhibition. The dress will be paired with Obama’s shoes designed by Jimmy Choo and will go on display beginning Tuesday. While the Smithsonian traditionally collects each first lady’s first inaugural gown, second gowns are usually shown only in presidential libraries. This is the first time the museum has displayed a second inaugural gown.

The dress was transferred to the National Archives but is being lent to the Smithsonian with the White House’s blessing. Smithsonian Curator Lisa Kathleen Graddy said it seemed like a nice time to start a new tradition in the ever-evolving First Ladies exhibit for those who serve two terms in the White House.

“The more I started thinking about it, it’s such a long time before the presidential library is built,” she said. “There’s such interest in the dress, I thought maybe it would be interesting if we could borrow the dress and do a special display, a special limited-time display here so that people would get a chance to see it.”

This dress drew headlines when Obama unveiled her selection one year ago. It was the second custom-made Jason Wu gown Obama had chosen, following the white gown Wu designed for the first lady when she arrived in Washington and on the fashion scene. Since then, Obama has become a trendsetter.

The red gown is embellished with cut velvet that carries a unique shimmer, Graddy said. It features a cross-halter strap neckline, and the ring at the top is adorned with small diamonds.

“It’s certainly a change, isn’t it, from the white dress with the train,” Graddy said, recalling Obama’s first gown in the museum’s collection. “It’s this amazing, vivid red. No train. So it’s a much slimmer dress — still flowing — but a much slimmer-lined dress. It’s an incredible change of color from that beautiful sparkly white.”

It’s unusual for a first lady to use the same designer twice, at least in recent decades. Wu has said it’s been the experience of his life to help dress the first lady, taking him from fashion insider to a household name since the first inauguration in 2009. Mrs. Obama also has turned to designer Thom Browne for special outfits, including her coat and dress for inauguration day in 2013.

Even her outfits from J. Crew draw notice, and some of Obama’s apparel choices sell out quickly online. For 2014, Pantone Inc.’s color of the year — orchid, a shade of purple — was introduced with a nod to the fact it’s a color Mrs. Obama often wears. Pantone sets color standards for the design industry.

From time to time, the people want to copy the fashion of a first lady, Graddy said, noting Jacqueline Kennedy as an example.

“People look at what she is wearing. They admire it,” she said of Obama. “I don’t think that fashion is Michelle Obama’s first priority. I think that obviously she’s interested in what she wears, and she puts a lot of thought into it — and that’s what people see and respond to is a very put-together look that they would like to emulate.”

The Jimmy Choo shoes paired with Obama’s second gown had a much shorter heel, seemingly more comfortable than her heels for the first inaugural, Graddy said. The first lady knew how long she would be on her feet for the second inaugural.
