Tommy Jeans not only wants customers to buy their products, but is offering rewards if they wear them a lot.
Tommy Hilfiger, which is owned by PVH Corp., has unveiled Tommy Jeans Xplore, smart-chip technology enhanced product that offers consumers rewards and experiences for each wear, creating a micro-community of brand ambassadors. It is offered in men’s, women’s and unisex designs and available exclusively in the U.S.
Each Tommy Jeans Xplore item has an embedded Awear Solutions’ Bluetooth low-energy smart tag, connecting the product to the dedicated iOS Tommy Jeans Xplore app. Once downloaded and activated, the app creates a direct line of communication between the Tommy Jeans Xplore product and consumers. Product and app usage are incentivized with a point platform, allowing the consumer to get rewards and experiences in real time, based on how often the garment is worn.
The collection consists of 23 items in a variety of colorways. For example, in the men’s category, there are hoodies, a crewneck sweatshirt, T-shirt and seven denim styles (five jeans and two jackets), and for women’s there’s a hoodie, crew sweatshirt, two T-shirts and denim (three jeans, a jacket and skirt). Unisex accessories include a cross-body bag, backpack, weekender and a hat.

Tommy Hilfiger, Lewis Hamilton Team for Capsule Collection

Lewis Hamilton, British Formula One racing driver and four-time Formula One World Champion, is gearing up to introduce a men’s capsule collection in collaboration with Tommy Hilfiger. They will introduce the first Tommy x Lewis collection for fall retailing.
The news comes a month after Hamilton was named a global brand ambassador for Tommy Hilfiger Men’s, starting this spring, as reported. Hilfiger is owned by PVH Corp.
Hamilton revealed the collection logo to fans at an exclusive event in Shanghai on Wednesday, putting his own stamp on the Tommy Hilfiger flag. The Tommy x Lewis flag was unveiled in an art installation that shared the inspirations behind the design, including street art influences and projections of Hamilton’s own body art. The logo is a take on Hilfiger’s signature flag trademark positioned behind Hamilton’s initials in navy, reflecting the brand’s colors and the font used in the British Formula One racer’s own tattoos.
The collection will be revealed to editors on May 7.
As reported, Hamilton was named the face of Hilfiger men’s, which includes the Collection and Tailored lines as well as underwear and swimwear. The appointment is aimed at driving the growth of Hilfiger men’s worldwide and bringing the next generation of fans

Rich Hilfiger Does Tango Hotel Brand

Rich Hilfiger, a recording artist and Tommy Hilfiger’s son, has caught the apparel bug.
Joining forces with Al-Baseer Holly (Bonic), a rapper turned visual artist, and pro skateboarder Stevie Williams, the longtime friends have launched a lifestyle brand built on “permanent vacation,” an ideal all three founders not only promote but live their lives by.
Named Tango Hotel, the Los Angeles company had a quiet launch last July in Miami (without any product to speak of), where it partnered with Agenda to host the trade show’s kickoff event at Raleigh Hotel, owned by Tommy Hilfiger, with a poolside performance by Travis Scott.
Tango Hotel was launched in select Macy’s stores across the country in late May, with a collection of men’s designer socks and briefs featuring original artwork from both Rich Hilfiger and Holly.  The line was also shipped to specialty boutiques in June and is being sold at Tangohotelbrand.com with prices starting at $ 12 for socks and $ 25 for briefs.
“The brand is all about the idea of Tango Hotel being a place of permanent vacation, a state of mind,” Holly said.

Tommy Hilfiger Collaborates With Vetements

Tommy Hilfiger is teaming with Vetements, the Zurich-based ultracool streetwear brand, for a unisex collaboration this fall.
Hilfiger posted news about the collaboration on his Instagram over the weekend. In a telephone interview Sunday, he told WWD that he met Vetements chief executive officer Guram Gvasalia about six to nine months ago, and two months ago Gvasalia called him and said they’d like to do a collaboration.
“I was very excited. What they’ve done is quite genius. They have their own rule book. They do what they want and do it when and how they want,” said Hilfiger.

The spring Vetements x Tommy Hilfiger collaboration will be distributed to Vetements’ account roster in February, including such stores as Barneys New York, Harrods and Colette, said Hilfiger. The collection will include women’s and men’s items such as hoodies, with a flag and crest, short-sleeve T-shirts, beanies and socks. “It’s luxe streetwear. Nobody does it better than these guys,” said Hilfiger. He said the hoodies are oversized, which is Vetements’ trademark. The color range consists of gray heather, navy, red and fuchsia.
The T-shirts, for example, will have a Vetements logo on the back and a Tommy Hilfiger logo on the front.

Beckham, Kors and Hilfiger Score Highest in Digital Engagements on Show Day

Victoria Beckham, Michael Kors and Tommy Hilfiger took the top three spots in digital engagement on their respective show days, according to research by ListenFirst Media.
ListenFirst tracks digital engagement data from Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Tumblr, Wikipedia and Google + on the designers’ respective show days.
Beckham, who showed Feb. 12, ranked first with 1.5 million engagements that day, more than the next three top ranking fashion brands combined. The success on Beckham’s show on social is attributed to her content strategy — posting more content on Feb. 12 than any other New York Fashion Week brand, and having the No. 1 most popular posts on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, according to ListenFirst.
Kors, which showed at Spring Studios on Feb. 15, came in second place, with 967.9 million digital engagements. While 90 percent of those engagements were earned on Instagram, the brand dominated multiple channels relative to his NYFW cohorts that day, driving 21 percent of all engagements earned by the set on Feb. 15 and posting the day’s most engaging NYFW related posts across Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. Tommy Hilfiger and VFiles: An Unlikely Pair

Surprises are always in store when it comes to the VFiles runway, and the company delivered another when it revealed that Tommy Hilfiger will be part of its mentoring panel for the eighth VFiles runway show during New York Fashion Week. Hilfiger joins makeup artist Pat McGrath, stylist Mel Ottenberg and Fear of God’s Jerry Lorenzo, all of whom have mentored participants in VFiles’ runway before.
Founded by Julie Anne Quay, VFiles is an online destination for fashion, music, video and photography that also has a boutique on Mercer Street in SoHo. The designers, stylists and makeup artists who participate in the runway show are crowdsourced, and tend to trade in an underground or fringe-aesthetic. For example, in the spring show Namilia showed a halter top with cups shaped like penises and an inflatable, heart-shaped apparatus decorated with emoji euphemisms for sex: peaches, grapefruits, bananas, etc. The show has a rowdy, clubby atmosphere and typically includes musical performances. Past presentations featured Tyga, Migos and A-Trak.
Past mentors have included Naomi Campbell, Italo Zucchelli and Young Thug. Hilfiger is one of the more traditional members of the mentor panel.

Tommy Hilfiger is indulging his love of snow sports by partnering with Rossignol on a special collaboration. The capsule of four looks in the Tommy x Rossignol line feature the designer’s trademark red, white and blue color palette blended with performance features that make them appropriate to wear on the slopes.
The looks include Hilfiger’s signature logo in addition to Rossignol’s trademark rooster symbol.

Andy Hilfiger, Bethel Woods Center Team Up for Fashion Fundraising

WOODSTOCK REVISITED: Andy Hilfiger has teamed up with Bethel Woods Center for the Arts for a fundraising and fashion event. He will stage Festival Fashion: Bellbottoms and Butterfly Wings, a runway show featuring festival-inspired clothing from his personal collection. It will be held in the Event Gallery at Bethel Woods on April 25. The show will highlight looks from iconic Sixties ensembles to contemporary electronic music festival designs.

“Over my four decades in music and fashion, I have styled everyone from The Ramones to ZZ Top, Kid Rock to Michael Jackson, and collected countless vintage looks, including pieces worn by some of the world’s biggest stars,” said Hilfiger. “This exhibition is an opportunity to share my collection with the world, in a place that continues to influence fashion in ways that designers can only dream of.”

The evening, which costs $ 50, includes music, light fare, beer and wine, and culminates with a fashion show. All proceeds from the event will benefit Bethel Woods Center for the Arts. Bethel Woods is located on the site of the 1969 Woodstock Festival, which is home to Mysteryland, the U.S. version of the world’s longest running electronic music festival.
