A Tractor-Trailer Full of Beer Rolled Off an Overpass Scattering Hundreds of Empty Kegs on the Freeway

The phrase “toss the keg” took on a very literal meaning Tuesday morning in Bensalem, Pennsylvania.

Drivers on I-95 in Bensalem were in for quite the surprise around 9 a.m. when an 18-wheeler tractor-trailer overturned on an overpass and fell 20 feet, bringing hundreds of empty kegs crashing down with it, ABC 6 Philadelphia reports.

The driver was reportedly attempting to exit south when they lost control and ended up rolling off the ramp over into northbound lanes.

ABC 6 Philadelphia reports that one other car driving northbound was involved in the incident after they crashed into the debris, but that neither the truck driver or the driver of the car were “seriously injured.”

Although there was no spillage of beer involved, Tuesday’s situation did leave behind a bit of a problem for the clean up crews. According to ABC News, which shared video of the aftermath, State Police closed down the highway for nearly two hours, with major traffic delays reported in the area. The outlet also added that officials are further investigating the cause of the crash.

This incident comes nearly a week after a semi-truck with a raised bed carrying canola seeds crashed full-speed into an overpass on a Canadian highway and showered the streets with seeds, TIME reports. The truck suffered serious damage, but no one was injured in that wreck, either.

A Year Since Zoo Closure, Hundreds of Animals Remain Caged Inside

One year after closing down, the 140-year-old Buenos Aires Zoo remains a home for the hundreds of caged animals that were left behind. All of the city-owned animals trapped and their livelihood ignored. The busy streets of Argentina’s capital surrounds the shut-down facility, which opened in 1875, and has now been converted into a park.

Over 1,000 animals were going to be relocated to sanctuaries according to the statements from developers last summer, but the animals continue to live in inhumane conditions a year later. This week, a new plan was released by city officials that centers on the layout and expansion of the park but leaves scarce details on the future of these animals.

“It’s gone from bad to worse. Everything is set for Noah’s Arc to be shipwrecked,” said Claudio Bertonatti, former Buenos Aires zoo director and consultant for the Fundacion Azara non-governmental organization.

Here is look at some of the animals at Buenos Aires Zoo:

City officials have struggled with the process of transferring the animals, needing the authorization of legislation and a study done by an official to determine what animals can be moved. And it was just recently that an official was hired. A critical problem for the zoo-trained animals is the exposure to the wild and possibly dying if moved from their current habitant. A number of groups—including veterinarian groups—want specifics from officials. In April, they took action by writing a letter demanding answers on the future conditions for these animals. Some of the animals, like the three elephants residing at the park, even have legal representation demanding better quality of life.

NYCxDESIGN Gets Rolling With Hundreds of Events

Artist Anish Kapoor helped city officials kick off this year’s edition of NYCxDESIGN, a three-week citywide effort that celebrates design in all its forms.
With more than 7,500 design firms and 50,000-plus full-time designers based here, New York is has more designers than Los Angeles and Chicago combined. Having seen a 30 percent gain in the number of design firms in the last decade, the sector brings in more than $ 555 million annually in city tax revenue. The average full-time designer earns $ 50,000. New York’s design workforce is being groomed in part thanks to 10 design and architecture schools that turn out twice as many design and architecture students as any other American city.
Wednesday morning’s press event at Brooklyn Bridge Park doubled as the opening of Kapoor’s installation “Descension,” which is presented by Public Art Fund as part of its 40th anniversary season. Alicia Glen, deputy mayor for Housing and Economic Development, was also joined by Interior Design magazine’s editor in chief Cindy Allen, among others. This year’s event will run through May 24 and features new tie-ins such as retail partnerships, design-focused events, window displays and installations at Brookfield Place, the MoMA Design store, the Microsoft store, WantedDesign shops and

Man Buys Hundreds Of Tickets To ‘Transformers: Age Of Extinction’ In Attempt To Win Back His Ex

A very calm and rational Beijing individual is attempting to win back his ex-girlfriend by buying hundreds of tickets to “Transformers: Age Of Extinction.”

According to The South China Morning Post, the jilted man, identified only by the surname Wang, was dumped after he could not afford to take his then-girlfriend to the movies.

Now, after “striving hard for seven years” and running his own company, he has spent a quarter of a million yuan on tickets to the noisy Michael Bay project in order to get her attention. He is currently giving the tickets away for free to anyone who shares his Weibo blog post, in hopes his long-lost love will see it / maybe still want to go to the movies.

I only want to say that you might have been wrong when you made that decision,” he wrote, according to the Morning Post.

Once Wang is able to find his ex-girlfriend, suggestions for trying to find her include: 1) playing the “Transformers” soundtrack on a boom box held up outside her window, 2) friending her on Facebook or 3) getting tickets to literally any other movie besides “Transformers.”
