Undone Moves Into the U.S. Market

Undone, the customizable watch brand that’s based in Hong Kong, is focusing on the U.S.
Michael Young built a reputation in the watch industry by collecting vintage watches, supplying companies such as Hublot and Omega with parts, and customizing Rolexes for high-end brands. Because of the high price points on custom watches, which start at $ 20,000, Young thought there was space in the market for an affordable, well-made custom watch option and introduced Undone in 2014.
His relationships with suppliers and knowledge of the supply chain has allowed him to offer models that retail from $ 265 to $ 430. Having his own dial printers and in-house watchmakers has also helped. Customers are able to purchase a customizable watch from Undone’s e-commerce site to select their own dial, case, hands, strap and engraving on the back. Undone has also recently partnered with Peanuts on a capsule collection that offers more characters than usual because of its customization abilities.
“A lot of watch brands are starting to launch characters on special editions, but there is no flexibility,” Young said. “We think consumers should have a choice and be able to create something they love.”

Kay Jewelers Launches Investigation Into Service Policies After Customer Accuses Company of Stealing Diamonds

Kay Jewelers is launching an internal investigation into diamond servicing practices after an Illinois woman accused the jewelry store of stealing her diamond engagement ring when she took it in to get serviced.

Requitta Darshae East slammed the jewelry chain in a lengthy Facebook post that has since gone viral with over 1,500 shares, claiming that Kay Jewelers tried to give her the wrong ring and failed to track down her actual one. Since her post, hundreds of other Kay shoppers shared their own similar stories in the comments on Facebook. This isn’t the first time the retailer has faced these allegations: A 2016 Buzzfeed exposé also uncovered a similar case of a woman whose $ 4,299.99 diamond was swapped with a different stone when she brought it in for a repair.

Now, Kay Jewelers’s parent company Signet Jewelers — which also owns Zales, Jared the Galleria of Jewelry, H.Samuel, Piercing Pagoda and more — is working to rectify the situation by launching an internal investigation and working with Darshae East directly to resolve the situation and address her specific concerns.

In an exclusive statement to PEOPLE, a representative for Signet Jewelers said: “We’ve been working diligently on the customer complaint you reported on to understand the underlying concerns. I’m pleased to share that we reached a resolution that has satisfied the customer and we continue to work to resolve other concerns that were posted in connection with her post.”

In an effort to understand the concerns, Signet has launched an internal investigation: “Our goal is to treat all customer concerns with a high level of integrity, seriousness, and care. Once we become aware of a customer complaint, we run it to ground until a resolution has been reached. We are continuously re-evaluating our policies and practices to ensure we are providing the highest levels of service at all points of the repair journey. Like all customer complaints, we have launched an investigation into this particular matter and remain in close contact with the customer in question as we work toward a resolution.”

As for what the internal investigation entails, a representative said: “The internal investigation retraces every touchpoint of the customer’s jewelry journey. The customer’s jewelry stays within our jewelry Design and Service Centers or, is shipped to the manufacturer that created the item. We have 241 Design & Service Centers internally, with 2,000+ employees are skilled artisans held to our exact standards.”

RELATED PHOTOS: UPDATED! The Best Celebrity-Loved Beauty Products to Buy at Dermstore’s Friends & Family Sale

Representatives from the company also detailed the servicing process, writing in the statement: “Our policies and procedures ensure that Signet has the right skilled people to do the right skilled work to treat each of our customer’s pieces with care and professionalism.”

Signet also noted that work is completed at multiple touchpoints: “Virtually all of our work is shipped to and cared for by Signet’s jewelry artisans at our 241 Design and Service Centers, and two Signet manufacturing centers. A small percentage of work is completed by expert Signet-approved manufacturers and specialists. All packages containing customer jewelry are closely tracked and monitored throughout the process by a third-party as part of our chain of custody process.”

There are also three phases of servicing, they say, (1) take-in to log the details of the piece, (2) inspection upon completion to confirm repairs have been done, and (3) delivery to make sure it satisfies the customer. At that point, the company says it “performs a side-by-side comparison of the original photo to the repair image under a Digital Gemscope, obtains a customer signature expressing 100% satisfaction with the quality of the repair work, and provides a six month guarantee on the repair workmanship.”

The company noted that employees who handle jewelry are required to participate in ongoing training, which begins with multiple training systems within the first 180 days of employment.

“To ensure that our entire repair team intimately understands our process and policies, the majority of our leadership has been promoted from within the Company. Every one of our Design and Repair Service center managers and leaders have deep experience as jewelers, each with a high level of training and relevant accreditations,” representatives for Kay Jewelers said.

Darshae East described her experience in detail on Facebook.

“Where do I begin…?? There are so many layers to this,” Darshae East began her post. “July 2nd, 2018 – I take my wedding ring (both the engagement ring and band) to Kay Jewelers In River Oaks Mall to have it serviced. My ring is white gold, which needs to be dipped in rhodium to keep it from yellowing. Anyway, I take it in, the employee is supposed to check the diamonds before sending it out to have it dipped. Oddly enough, the diamond checkers aren’t working. She looks at the ring under a microscope and says that the diamonds look fine. Sends the ring out and says that the repair will take about 2 weeks to complete.”

“I receive a call from an employee at the store about 2 weeks later. My ring is back, but apparently I have two chipped diamonds in my center stone that need to be replaced. (Isn’t that what was supposed to be checked before the ring was sent out in the first place??” FYI: There are NO chipped diamonds indicated on the receipt I received on July 2nd.) She asks if its ok to go ahead and send the ring to corporate for repairs. Of course it is. So she sends it back. She tells me that it will take about 8-10 weeks for repair.”

She continued, “Fast forward 8-10 weeks… I receive a call on a Friday from Kays, “Hello Mrs. East, your repair is back in the store.” I get to the store only to find that the ring that was returned is NOT MINE. I explain to the employee (who happens to be the store manager) that the ring is not mine and proceed to show her pictures. She looks at both rings and agrees that the ring is not mine. She tells me that she will call corporate on Monday to figure out what happened.”

After going back and forth to the mall store multiple times to pick up her ring, at the final visit, the employees tried to give her a ring that looked like her own, but in fact, was not hers.

“Are you ready for this?? I make my way to the store only to find that the ring is…. (you guessed it) NOT MINE,” she wrote. “Not only is the ring not mine, but it is the exact same ring that I went to pickup the first time, only now its engraved…!!”

Darshae East alleged that not only had her engagement ring been taken, but her mother’s LeVian diamond ring had been too.

“To top this all off, the day I dropped off my ring, July 2nd, 2018, I also dropped off my mom’s $ 4,000 chocolate Levian diamond ring. We haven’t received that ring back either,” she wrote.

According to Darshae East, instead of returning her original ring, a representative from the jeweler called and offered her the cost of the ring, plus an additional $ 650, which she called “absolutely not enough.”

She added, “In my opinion, there is a way to rectify any and every situation. Kay Jewelers has failed miserably to do so. This is NOT OKAY. And they keep insisting that the rings were NOT stolen!! SO where are they!?!?!!?! What really happened?!?!?!”

Grandma Breaks Into Happy Tears After Meeting Her New Dog for the First Time

Pooches have a powerful sway over one’s emotions, as Shirley Lann knows.

The 84-year-old grandmother lost her beloved dog of 14 years one month ago, reports NBC4i.com. The dog’s death was especially hard on her since Lann shared the canine with her late husband.

To Lann’s family it was obvious there was a hole in the woman’s life without a furry friend, so her loved ones decided to help her out.

After searching a local shelter, they found the perfect pup — a Lhasa Apso named Sammy.

The family surprised Lann with the new addition at a medical rehabilitation center, where Lann was staying to recover from some recent health problems.

Her grandson, Matthew McVey, captured the first meeting on camera and posted the video to Twitter.

“My grandma lost her dog that she’s had for the past 14 years about a month ago (she was extremely close with her since it was my late grandfather’s dog too) and hasn’t been the same since she passed. Today my mom surprised her with Sammy,” McVey posted along with the clip.

In the video, Lann breaks into happy tears the moment Sammy steps into the room. Soon the fluffy pup is in her arms and Lann hugs Sammy lovingly to her chest.

McVey told Inside Edition the pair, who became fast friends, will be living together once Lann finish her recovery and moves back home.

Bonobos to Expand Into Big and Tall

Bonobos is now targeting the big guy.
The Walmart-owned men’s brand today will launch an extended sizes collection that will include everything from suits, dress shirts and neckwear to sport shirts and knitwear.
Brad Andrews, copresident, said expanding into extended sizing “is a natural extension for us. We’re a brand built on better-fitting clothes and we feel this is an underserved market.”
Extended sizing has long been a challenge for most traditional brick-and-mortar retailers since it requires an investment into inventory in a wide range of sizes that may not move quickly. The biggest player in the field is Destination XL, which has more than 340 retail stores and an e-commerce site that sells branded as well as private-label goods.
“The fact that we’re e-commerce gives us an advantage as we’re able to deliver a broader size range,” Andrews said.
A dedicated landing page for the offering will launch today where Bonobos will talk about the details of the collection. It will also be marketed in all stores and store windows as well as in a catalogue that will be mailed this week.
“We spent a lot of time on the details,” Andrews said. For instance, woven shirts have a lowered neck drop, a two-piece sleeve

Paige Denim Expands Into Footwear

HAPPY FEET: Paige Denim is expanding its offer to include a new range of footwear that’s designed to channel the same laid-back Californian vibe the denim label for which the brand is known.
Founder Paige Adams-Geller, a self-confessed shoe addict, said she has always used her personal footwear collections to inspire her designs and was waiting for the moment when she could launch her own line independently, her goal being to avoid licensing and maintain full creative control.
She came up with a 19-piece collection ranging from snakeskin ankle boots to strappy sandals, sneakers with touches of leopard print and studded loafers.
“We wanted to include pieces we felt were a necessity in a woman’s closet: the sneaker, the heel, the Western boot, the lower heel height and the higher heel height,” said Adams-Geller, who found that the technicalities of footwear design were similar to that of denim.
“When you put Paige jeans on, they feel like your best friend and we wanted the same thing to happen with your foot. The most important quality for our shoes is comfort, so we made sure to pick leathers that mold to the foot, used special padding inside the shoes and negotiated the heel heights to

The second annual Millennial Pink Party takes to the Hamptons this weekend, and this year the concept has been expanded into a full weekend of events with the help of partners like BCBGeneration, Bloomingdale’s and The Class by Taryn Toomey.

Mike Ashley to Turn House of Fraser into ‘Harrods of the High Street’

AIMING HIGH: Sports Direct boss Mike Ashley, who purchased House of Fraser for 90 million pounds last Friday morning, revealed in an exclusive post-purchase interview with British tabloid The Sun, that he wanted transform the retailer into “the Harrods of the high street.”
He said his plans are to stock luxury labels such as Gucci and Prada. According to Ashley they are “the biggest thing missing” in the department store today and that stocking those brands “will make a big difference.”
Not surprisingly, industry observers were skeptical.
George Wallace, chief executive of MHE Retail, said in an interview he thinks it will be very difficult for House of Fraser to attract luxury brands.
“The level investment that’s required in those stores to get to a standard where the likes of Gucci and Prada would be prepared to be present is really a massive amount, bearing in mind the size of the stores. Selfridges and Harrods have poured in hundreds of millions of pounds to create an environment supportive of a luxury product.”
He added: “The concept of big department stores in mid-size towns is under serious threat and past its use-by date. Having a luxury department store in a provincial city is not commercially viable.”

Grieving Dad’s Words of Love After Son Was ‘Lured’ Into Woods in Rape and Murder: ‘I Will Always Honor Him’

In the wake of what authorities described as his 16-year-old son’s brutal rape and murder at the hands of a longtime friend, Washington dad Benjamin Eastman Jr.’s repeated message has been one of “love and togetherness.”

“I want thank the community and friends for all they have done for my family,” Eastman, who goes by “B.J.,” posted Thursday on Facebook, adding that words could not “explain the love feel right now.”

“There’s no way could ever get through this without it,” he wrote. “I would like everyone to remember my son how they want to but most of all how he has made our community and other communities far and wide stop and forget about judgment and hate.”

“Our community is full of love and togetherness right now,” he concluded his post. “My son made the world a better place. He continues to do so and I will always honor him for that. I ask that we all focus on that.”

Prosecutors say it’s too early in the case to discuss a possible motive in the beating death of Benjamin “Ben” Eastman III a week after his birthday — but the details released so far have attracted international attention.

Meanwhile, his community in southwestern Washington has drawn closer together in the shadow of such a vicious crime.

“When you have a county as close-knit and tight as Lewis and a town like Randle, which is even smaller, a tragic incident like this is going to impact everybody,” Lewis County Prosecuting Attorney Jonathan Meyer tells PEOPLE.

RELATED: Slain Boy’s Father Sat Front Row in Court to Face Accused Murderers — ‘I Wanted Them to Look at Me’

Charging documents previously obtained by PEOPLE show how, according to investigators, Ben was tricked into going in the woods sometime after texting early on June 24 with another 16-year-old boy, Benito Marquez, a friend and classmate who had known Ben for years.

Marquez and his older brother, 21-year-old Jonathon Adamson, “lured” Ben “under the guise of a camping trip,” prosecutors said in a probable cause affidavit.

There the pair allegedly carried out an assault they had planned together: striking Ben for some “20 to 45 minutes” and kicking him more than 100 times. During the attack, Ben was sexually assaulted with a stick, according to the affidavit.

Adamson and Marquez beat him in the head with a large rock, just to make sure he was dead, authorities believe.

Finally, they allegedly buried his body on the property of a relative where it was discovered three days later, after Ben was reported missing by his father. His shallow grave was marked with a homemade cross of sticks.

• Want to keep up with the latest crime coverage? Click here to get breaking crime news, ongoing trial coverage and details of intriguing unsolved cases in the True Crime Newsletter.

Marquez, who had seemingly posted on Facebook asking for help finding Ben before his body was discovered, was an early subject of the investigation, according to authorities. But he and Adamson then allegedly fled the county, traveling some 200 miles east, before being found by the state patrol on June 29, the probable cause affidavit states.

They were each interviewed by police and subsequently charged with first-degree rape and murder as well as tampering with physical evidence and unlawful disposal of remains, the affidavit states.

Detention records confirm they remain in custody in Lewis County in lieu of $ 10 million bond.

They have not entered pleas and an attorney representing them declined to comment to PEOPLE. They are scheduled to return to court on Thursday.

https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js

While B.J., Ben’s dad, has spoken out about the suspects and sat front row in court at their first hearing, on Monday, he has largely kept the focus on his boy.

“I want everyone to remember the love we feel for each other,” he posted on Facebook Friday, following a vigil for Ben. “My son will live in our hearts.”

He also offered this: “Remember to smile or say hi to a stranger.”

Speaking to local TV station KOMO earlier this week, B.J. said, “It’s easy to get caught up in the negative aspect of this, but I remember my son and his smile.”

“There is evil people out there,” B.J. said then. “I don’t know what makes them tick. I don’t want to know. I’m loved and my son was loved and that’s all I’m about.”

Prosecutor Meyer tells PEOPLE Ben’s death — the violence and intimacy of it — is “hard to put into words.”

“Ben was a nice kid from a good family,” he says.

Others who knew the teen have also paid tribute to his love of the outdoors and sports, especially the Miami Dolphins, and his loyalty and light spirt.

“You’d be in a bad mood and he’d just walk in — you’d just be mad as mad as you could be and he’d just crack a smile and make you giggle just over anything, always,” Ben’s brother Derek Dunaway told KOMO.

“He really liked to stand up for his friends,” Principal Chris Schumaker told the Daily Chronicle after a vigil Tuesday night at Ben’s school, where he was a rising junior.

“A lot of the time, his friends would get in trouble because of his shenanigans and somehow he was able to kind of sidestep getting caught. So then towards the end he would kind of say, ‘Mr. Schumaker, it was kind of me, I deserve the detention,’ ” the principal recalled. “And I would say, ‘No, you know they did the crime, they get the time.’ He tried really hard to plea-deal consequences his friends earned. Wash. Teen Was Lured into Woods for Camping Trip Before Friend Allegedly Raped, Killed Him

The Washington 16-year-old who police allege was raped and beaten to death by his childhood friend and the friend’s brother was lured into the woods on the premise of a camping trip and then assaulted for nearly 45 minutes, according to charging documents obtained by PEOPLE.

The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office has charged Jonathon Adamson, 21, and his 16-year-old brother Benito Marquez with first-degree rape and murder in the death of Benjamin Eastman, who was last seen alive on June 23 before his body was found on June 28 on a remote parcel of land owned by Marquez’s relative.

According to the charging documents, Marquez, who is being charged as an adult, was a childhood friend of Ben’s. He and his brother allegedly lured Ben into the woods for a camping trip on June 24, but then knocked him to the ground and assaulted him for nearly 45 minutes.

The charging documents allege Adamson told police he and Marquez sexually assaulted Ben with a stick while he was still alive.

Before burying Ben, the brothers allegedly beat him in the head with a rock to ensure he was dead.

The brothers are also both charged with tampering with physical evidence and unlawful disposal of remains and are currently being held on $ 10 million bail. Information about whether they have entered a plea or retained attorneys was not immediately available.

Victim’s Father: ‘My Son Is Loved’

Ben lived with his father in Randle, and his father, Benjamin Eastman, sat in the front row Monday during the suspect’s court appearance, reports KOMONews.com.

“I wanted them to look at me, I wanted to look them in the eye,” the father told the outlet.

Ben’s father told the outlet that Ben was a joyful, happy teenager, and the two enjoyed camping, fishing and dirt biking together.

Ben’s father said there are “evil people out there. I don’t know what makes them tick. I don’t want to know. I’m loved, and my son was loved and that’s all I’m about.”

According to local station KIRO7, hundreds gathered for a vigil at the White Pass Junior and Senior High School in Randle. Principal Chris Schumaker said it was fitting the service began in the gym because Ben loved sports so much and was always in the gym.

Ben and his family were fans of the Miami Dolphins, and during the vigil, the family released aqua and orange balloons representing the Dolphins team colors, the outlet reports.

How This Mom Lost 105 Lbs. with Intermittent Fasting: ‘I Went Into it Kind of Skeptical’

Watch the full episode of People Features: How We Lost 100 Pounds! streaming now on PeopleTV.com, or download the PeopleTV app on your favorite device.

For years, Nissa Graun was an extreme yo-yo dieter.

After trying her first diet at age 12, the mom from Mesa, Arizona spent years gaining and losing anywhere from 20 to 50 lbs., over and over again.

“That was a while ago, so the diets were about counting your fat grams, making sure you were eating very low fat and a lot of processed foods,” Graun, 38, tells PEOPLE for the 2018 “How We Lost 100 Lbs.” issue.

Graun would compound her improper diet with overexercising, and then question why she didn’t feel healthy.

“For years I would eat very low calories while working out six to seven days a week, for probably two hours a day,” she says. “So I would get to the point where I would restrict so much, and then I would keep restricting and feel deprived, and then I would over eat the junk food that put on the weight.”

Graun weighed around 180 lbs., but then she got pregnant with her first child in 2014, and gained 65 lbs., and developed gestational diabetes.

“I was told if I didn’t get control of my diet, it could turn into regular diabetes,” she says. “So for the six months following my pregnancy, I tried desperately to lose the weight with everything I had tried before — counting calories, over exercising — and none of it really helped me.”

Then Graun learned about a plan that was the opposite of what she was doing, one that focused on a high-fat, lower-carb diet.

“That actually worked for me, by cutting out a lot of the processed carbohydrates and adding in healthy fats like coconut oil or butter,” she says. “It actually started to move the scale, which nothing else would up until that point.”

For more on Graun and four more women who lost 100 lbs., pick up a copy of PEOPLE, on newsstands Friday.

She also started doing intermittent fasting, where she wouldn’t eat for 14 hours a day.

“I wouldn’t eat after dinner, and then I would wake up, do a fasted workout and then I wouldn’t eat my breakfast until maybe eight o’clock or nine o’clock … It really helped bring my blood sugars into a better range, and I was no longer considered diabetic.”

And though Graun was “kind of skeptical” when she started intermittent fasting, it quickly worked for her. She dropped 90 lbs. after her pregnancy, and when she got pregnant again two years later, she no longer had gestational diabetes.

Graun stuck to the same plan after her second pregnancy, with some slight adjustments — she now fasts for 16 hours a day — and is down 105 lbs.

“This is the first time that I’ve really eaten real food,” she says. “My body is getting what it’s designed to get, and it really loves that.”

And Graun, who naturally spends most of the year in shorts, T-shirts and swimsuits, thanks to Arizona’s heat, now feels good in her body.

“From season to season, I used to keep all of my bigger clothes because I always thought I would need them,” she says. “Now it feels good to just be able to maintain the same size season after season, year after year.”

Real World and The Challenge Alum Wes Bergmann’s Wedding Turns Into an MTV Reunion

This is the true story…of wedded bliss!

Wes Bergmann, the Real World: Austin alum who became a mainstay of The Challenge, tied the knot with Amanda Hornick on Friday — and the wedding served as a gathering of MTV reality stars.

Nehemiah Clark, Lacey Buehler, Rachel Moyal and Melinda Stolp — who all called Bergmann their roommate during the 2005 iteration of the long-running reality show — along with The Challenge‘s Devin Walker posed alongside the bride and groom for a group photo shared by the newlywed.

“Married AF,” Bergmann, 33, captioned the shot.

Hornick also shared a dreamy black and white photo of the couple tagged at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City, Missouri.

“Found my best friend & locked him down forever,” she wrote, adding the hashtags #TheLuckiest, #MrAndMrsBergmann and #MarriedAF.

“My favorite part of the wedding was the vows,” Bergmann told MTV News. “They were the most beautiful combination of seriousness and hilarity.”

The former roommates didn’t let the fun end after the wedding. On Saturday, Buehler shared photos of the crew heading to a Kansas City Royals baseball game.

“My best brother friend. One of the few people I don’t look as pale next to,” she captioned a photo with the groom. “Love you and am so happy for you.”

Bergmann was just 19 when he found reality TV fame on the Real World. He then became a fan favorite on MTV’s The Challenge and its spin-off Champs Vs. Stars, even becoming a winner on The Duel in 2007.

And it appears that the fierce competitor is coming back for more. He told MTV News he planned to “go on the next Challenge and f— some people up.”

Kim Kardashian Transforms Into Princess Jasmine in New Tutorial – and North West Isn’t Buying It!

Over the years, Kim Kardashian West has channeled many of her female icons — this year alone, the star dressed up as Cher, Madonna and Selena. And while her Cher hair stuck around for some time, there’s one other notable woman she’s dressed as on more than one occasion: Princess Jasmine (her go-to Halloween costume).  And now, she’s recreating that look, makeup and all, thanks to the skills of YouTube makeup guru Kandee Johnson.

In a new video with Johnson, Kardashian West morphs into the Disney character — complete with a long black wig, upward turning eyebrows and her signature tiara.

To create the look, Johnson first perfects Kardashian West’s skin with foundation, before applying gray eye shadow. Then, she “removes” the star’s eye brows, using Elmer’s glue to paste them down and Nars concealer to hide them. Next, she draws them back on with dark brow gel in order to create a bold shape like Jasmine’s, followed by a cat eye and, of course, the wig.

RELATED: See All of Kim Kardashian’s Sexy, Music Legend-Inspired Halloween Costumes from the Weekend

And Kim was so excited about her look that she FaceTimed with her 4-year-old daughter North West in the video, trying to convince her that she’s the Disney character. But North doesn’t fall for it, and instead responds, “You’re really Kim,” adding,  “you don’t look like Jasmine!”

And while she had the look down, there’s no hiding her signature Kim Kardashian voice.

Rihanna Slips into Seductive Black Corset to Preview Her Savage x Fenty Lingerie Line: ‘Damn’

It looks like Rihanna is throwing it back to her “S&M” days.

The songstress has been showing off her flair for fashion design for years with Puma, but now she’s turning her attention to what can’t be worn in public. On Sunday, she teased a sultry look from her upcoming lingerie collection, Savage x Fenty, via Instagram.

Rihanna poses in a strapless black corset paired with buttons up the front and a bow detail, placing her perfectly manicured hand over her forehead to cast a shadow on her face. She also sports lacy panties, thigh-high stockings and gold jewelry.

#DAMN,” she captioned the snap. “@savagexfenty drops in FIVE DAYZ !! MAY.11.2018”

The most important factor when designing her lingerie line was making all women feel like they could confidently rock it, the 30-year-old singer told Vogue for their June cover story. In Instagram posts teasing the collection, she showed off her designs on models of all shapes and sizes.

“You’ve just got to laugh at yourself, honestly. I mean, I know when I’m having a fat day and when I’ve lost weight. I accept all of the bodies,” she told Vogue. “I’m not built like a Victoria’s Secret girl, and I still feel very beautiful and confident in my lingerie.”

In addition to making the project size inclusive, Rihanna also made sure to incorporate a diverse shade range in her collection of nude lingerie too — just as she did with her makeup line.

“As a black woman, I could not live with myself if I didn’t do that,” she told the magazine about producing a wide range of colors for Fenty Beauty. “But what I didn’t anticipate was the way people would get emotional about finding their complexion on the shelf, that this would be a groundbreaking moment.”

“Savage is really about taking complete ownership of how you feel and the choices you make. Basically making sure everybody knows the ball is in your court,” Rihanna told Vogue. “As women, we’re looked at as the needy ones, the naggy ones, the ones who are going to be heartbroken in a relationship. Savage is just the reverse. And you know, guys don’t like getting the cards flipped on the — ever.”

A Decade of Aje, Australian Designer Duo Infusing Art Into Clothing

SYDNEY — The setting was a subtropical garden in Lavender Bay overlooking the Sydney Harbor Bridge. Marking its 10th birthday, contemporary Australian label Aje had all things Brett Whiteley on its mind.
In staging their latest runway show, design pair Edwina Robinson and Adrian Norris, who founded the brand, dove into the archives of one of Australia’s most recognizable artists. Working with the artist’s former wife, Wendy Whiteley, who oversees his estate, the brand worked to replicate every detail of five artworks onto clothes and showcased their resort 2019 lineup in Whiteley’s private garden on Wednesday.
“I had to go back and forth between Art Gallery of NSW and hold them against the prints, to make sure the colors are the same,” explained Robinson.
“They’re really iconic pieces, that people would have only ever seen in books or very rarely in the top galleries,” Norris added. “The paint strokes are exactly the same the way we printed. It is a direct replica of the piece.”
The brand, perhaps because of Norris’ other career as a painter, has kept the art world close. In a previous collection, the two used the work of another seminal Australian name, the Aboriginal artist Minnie Pwerle, adding her vividly colored brushstroke

Sainsbury’s Tu Steps into the Designer Arena

TWO FOR TU: Sainsbury’s Tu, a fashion range from the British supermarket chain, has partnered with Graduate Fashion Week’s award winners on two collections — including its first line of men’s wear — that will launch on May 29.
Tu Womenswear Scholarship winner Laura Gillings has created a 16-piece collection that features tailored trousers and coordinating jackets, shirts, dresses, skirts and T-shirts in monochrome shades as well as orange, dark green and lilac. The Bath Spa University student said she took her cue from Sixties tailoring and the Rolling Stones. There will be another 16-piece drop later this year.
“Working with the team has been the best part of this experience,” said Gillings. “I’ve realized that I want to make my career designing for the high street. I want my designs to be accessible to everyone.”
London-based designer Henry Holland was her mentor for the project. “I think Laura adds lots of femininity to the androgynous. She has a really strong sense of color and print and an amazing level of design. Her approach to print is quite graphic, and she’s got an instinctive way of designing within a brief and a very strong signature, which I think is really good for Tu.”

A.F. Vandevorst Reimagines Selfridges’ Corner Shop Into a Hospital Ward

RETHINKING RETAIL: As Selfridges continues to ponder the meaning of luxury in today’s digital world, it has tapped A.F. Vandevorst to offer its own interpretation.
As part of the retailer’s ongoing “Anatomy of Luxury” project, the Belgian label will be taking over the Corner Shop — a concept space located at the store’s ground floor accessories hall — for a one-week residency. As part of the pop-up, An Vandevorst and Filip Arickx have re-created the scene of their famous spring 1999 show, where models stretched out on midcentury hospital beds before hitting the catwalk.
“Since the beginning, the hospital and the red cross were significant for our identity. When Filip and I met each other at the fashion academy of Antwerp, we discovered that we both collected hospital furniture and based on our common passion we created the A.F.Vandevorst universe,” Vandevorst said. “It was an obvious choice to show a selection of our universe for this project.”
More than 13 hospital beds have been lined up across the corner shop, which features floor-to-ceiling windows and functions more as a gallery than a retail space. Archive pieces from the spring 1999 show are laid out on each bed, while tables filled with flowers and screens

Justin Theroux Avoids Running Into Ex Jennifer Aniston at Jimmy Kimmel’s Son’s Birthday Bash

Jennifer Aniston arrived at Jimmy Kimmel’s 1-year-old son’s star-studded birthday bash just as her ex-husband Justin Theroux was making his exit.

The Friends star, 45, spent a couple hours at the Hollywood party mingling with guests and sending her best wishes to the birthday boy on Saturday. The Leftovers actor, 46, was spotted leaving Kimmel’s home shortly before his ex arrived.

“Jen is doing well. She is keeping busy and moving on with her life,” a source tells PEOPLE.

Both Aniston and Theroux are close friends with Kimmel and his wife Molly McNearney — Aniston recently went to Tahiti with the pair, and the Kimmels were on the former couple’s honeymoon trip.

Theroux dedicated a special birthday tribute to the child on Instagram over the weekend, posting four adorable photos of himself with Billy. Alongside the images, Theroux wrote a message about his health battles over the past year.

“Happy ONE year birthday Billy! 🎂,” he captioned the snaps. “A boy who in 365 days has done more for American national health care than we could all wish to do in our lifetimes. He doesn’t even know yet how courageous he is. An honor to know him and his incredible and equally courageous parents. ❤

Theroux finished the message by thanking Cedars-Sinai Hospital and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and reminding fans “#registertovote.”

Kimmel and his wife revealed that their son underwent two heart surgeries after he was born with a congenital heart condition, tetralogy of Fallot with pulmonary atresia. Last May, the two-time Oscars host announced during a tearful address that Billy had open heart surgery at three days old as a result of his son’s “pulmonary valve completely blocked and a hole in the wall between the left and right sides of his heart.”

Billy had a second surgery at the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles in December, seven months after his birth. (Kimmel and McNearney also share 3-year-old daughter, Jane. He also has two older children – Kevin and Katie – from a previous relationship.)

The comedian used his platform to become an advocate for universal health care coverage, as well as other political issues, including gun violence prevention.

Meanwhile, a source previously told PEOPLE that since splitting from Theroux, Aniston’s “life now is not very different” than it was before. “Justin has moved on with his life in N.Y.C.,” while “Jen still enjoys hers in L.A.,” the source continued, adding that Aniston “loves socializing with friends.”

Aniston and Theroux announced that they had split after two and a half years of marriage and seven years as a couple on Feb. 15.

Bulgari Moves Further Into Film With Tribeca Film Festival Partnership

Bulgari has been named the official jeweler of the Tribeca Film Festival and has also announced a three-year partnership with the festival. The jeweler has worked with Tribeca Studios to produce two original short films that will debut during the festival, both from female filmmakers. The films each seek to highlight “Italian women going against the grain in pursuit of professions and passions that are traditionally held by men; highlighting how they are reshaping the way they, and Italian women at large, are perceived,” the company says.
“Bulgari is thrilled to partner with Tribeca Film Festival to celebrate and honor amazing Italian women disrupting the status quo with their strong personalities and going against the grain in pursuit of professions and passions that are traditionally held by men,” said chief executive officer Jean-Christophe Babin. “Our support of Tribeca Film Festival and the young filmmakers who tell these two stories builds on the powerful legacy of Bulgari and cinema, from the iconic Dolce Vita and Elizabeth Taylor until today. Hermès Converts N.Y. Men’s Store Into Record Shop

NEW YORK — Hermès has gotten the memo.
The French luxury brand has taken the movement toward experiential retailing to the next level, completely transforming its men’s store here into a vinyl record store for 10 days.
On Thursday night, the Madison Avenue emporium debuted Silk Mix, an art installation centered around music that has already been showcased in Madrid and Rome and now makes its way into the U.S.
“It’s all about silk and music,” said Robert Chavez, chief executive officer of Hermès. The concept was the brainchild of Véronique Nichanian, artistic director of Hermès men’s wear, and Christophe Goineau, creative director of men’s silk. They worked with Thierry Planelle, who has curated music for the company’s men’s shows for the last 15 years, to bring the idea to life.
The main floor was reworked to replicate an old-fashioned record store with bins of albums on display and a bank of turntables to give them a spin. But these albums had an Hermès twist: each of the covers sported a different silk design from the men’s assortment. “There are 225 styles and 53 different patterns,” Chavez said. “And you can pick your favorite and then play it.”

The album covers were all created from

Linder Moves Into Print

Linder is trying out different forms of expression.
Kirk Millar, who cofounded the brand with Sam Linder, wanted to offer a print takeaway with the fall men’s collection, which was centered around different ideas of masculinity, so he produced a zodiac calendar that’s available to purchase for $ 45 on Linder’s e-commerce site.
“The collection was specifically about the interior world of a gay man, and the vibrant inner life becomes visible to others as you begin to accept that you are ‘different’ and it’s a gift,” said Millar. “I think the calendar is about this as well, but very directly addresses the wounding and the healing process. It takes time, hence the calendar, and relating to others on a bigger-picture scale of connectedness, hence zodiac, which is a universal large space that sits above us.”
The calendar, which was shot by photographer Driely Carter, features models wearing Linder’s new underwear collection appearing as if they were wounded soldiers. Millar said he was influenced by a Walt Whitman documentary and the writer said he hoped American people would refrain from war by understanding the sanctity of the body.
Millar said going forward he hopes to continue to utilize print platforms to complement the collections.

Sophia Webster Ballroom Dances Her Way Into Fall 2018

DANCING QUEEN: British accessories designer Sophia Webster has always been known for using her seasonal presentations as a platform to bring her fantasy-filled, flamboyant world alive.
For fall, she went all out: she transformed the Café Royal’s Pompadour ballroom into a scene from Baz Luhrmann’s “Strictly Ballroom” — one of her favorite films — complete with tinsel curtains, giant revolving disco balls, crystals and feathers galore.
Webster, who danced competitively in her youth, said this was a very personal collection. “I was drawn to the costumes, the competition, everything. It was mine and my sister’s favorite film when we were younger, so I wanted to revisit it with a dance competition-inspired collection. It helps when something feels authentic to me.”
Guests were greeted with a playful neon sign that read: “I don’t need a mango to tango,” before being immersed into the sparkly world of competitive dancing. There were shelves filled with dance competition trophies placed next to crystal-embellished heeled sandals, models on podiums who danced in their feather-embellished ankle boots and professional Latin dancers performing in front of a glittering Coca-Cola banner — part of a collaboration with the designer.
Webster noted that the brand’s evening collection has been performing particularly strongly, so

Lady Gaga Shares Message Before Grammys About Transforming ‘Grief’ That Inspired Joanne Into ‘Hope’

Just hours before the 2018 Grammy Awards, Lady Gaga shared a touching message about the late aunt who inspired her latest album Joanne.

“I have carried a deep grief in my heart over my family’s tragedy,” she wrote on social media, referring to her late aunt, Joanne Stefani Germanotta, who died of lupus complications at age 19.

“The loss of Joanne affected my father so deeply that it affected me. When he cried, I cried. When he was angry, I was angry. When he was hurt, I hurt,” she continued.

She added, “Today I transform this grief to hope and healing. After 10 years with you I still get nervous before the Grammys, but I know I have an angel with me.”

The 31-year-old songstress also shared the heartfelt message alongside a picture of “me and @MarcRonson writing #Joanne.”

“I love you little monsters,” she added.

Be sure to check out PEOPLE’s full Grammys coverage to get the latest news on music’s big night.

In addition to performing at the Grammys this year, Gaga has been nominated for best pop solo performance (“Million Reasons”) and best pop vocal album (Joanne).

The singer had previously shared how “honored” she felt to be performing from her deeply personal album at the award show.

“I’m so honored to be singing from #Joanne,” she wrote on Saturday, adding, “This album and moment with little monsters means so much to me.”

RELATED: Why Are Stars Wearing White Roses to the Grammys?

Though the pop star was born nearly 12 years after Joanne’s death, she remains one of Gaga’s biggest influences.

“When Mark and I wrote it, the decision to name the album that was in tribute to my father’s sister who died when she was 19,” she told Beats 1’s Zane Lowe of her poet/painter aunt in September 2016, one month before her album’s release.

She went on to reveal that the album encompassed “everything about Joanne, which also happens to be my middle name.”

“It’s all the toughness of the pain of losing her that made us all strong and made us who we are,” Gaga added. “She is the woman of my past who is becoming and helping me bring more of my honest woman self into the future.”

On Saturday, the 31-year-old was also spotted stepping out hand-in-hand with  boyfriend Christian Carino as they made their way to Marta Italian Restaurant in New York City following Grammys rehearsals on Saturday.

PEOPLE confirmed Gaga and Carino’s romance in February 2017, weeks after the budding couple was spotted getting affectionate at a Kings of Leon concert and cuddling on the Super Bowl LI field.

The 60th annual Grammy Awards, hosted by James Corden, are broadcast live from Madison Square Garden in New York City on CBS starting at 7:30 p.m. ET on Sunday.

Martin Grant Leaps Into Men’s Wear Amid Shift in Collections Calendar

PARIS — Martin Grant, whose razor-sharp tailoring has earned him fans including Cate Blanchett and Jennifer Connelly, is launching a capsule collection for men as part of a broader plan to switch the focus away from his main women’s collection and toward the pre-collection seasons.
Grant is set to unveil the men’s line, featuring between 15 and 20 designs, during presentations at his Paris showroom between Jan. 17 and 24.
Starting in July, the Australian designer, whose last catwalk show was held in October 2015, will resume runway presentations during Paris Couture Week showcasing his men’s designs alongside his women’s pre-fall collections and a smattering of couture.
He will present a few additions to the pre-collection to coincide with the main women’s ready-to-wear shows in March and October, but will no longer produce separate collections. Grant said the decision made sense, as pre-collections now account for 80 percent of his business.
“Logistically it’s much better for us, because it’s what the buyers want anyhow,” he told WWD during an exclusive preview of the men’s collection. “They’re putting all of their budget into the pre-collections, because they need the time to sell. For us, concentrating on that season gives us a longer lead time to develop the

How Does Secrets of the Empire Fit Into the Star Wars Timeline?

This article contains major spoilers for the VR experience Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire and for the film Rogue One. If you have any interest in trying the VR experience out for yourself, I would recommend coming back to this at a later date. The story, and its surprises, are certainly worth experiencing fresh.

Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire is a VR-based experience that recently opened in Anaheim, Orlando, and London. The experience is powered by The Void, a company that blends virtual reality headsets with haptic feedback suits, body tracking, and physical environments to create unique, immersive storytelling. For Secrets, The Void partnered with ILMxLAB, a division of Lucasfilm that works with experimental technology. Additionally, the story told through the experience was created with the involvement of the Lucasfilm Story Group, and according to them, it’s canon.

Nick Graham Expanding Into Hosiery

Nick Graham is bringing his distinct fashion sensibility to men’s socks.
The designer has teamed with McGregor Industries Inc., the Toronto-based hosiery company known in the U.S. and internationally as American Essentials Inc., to create the Nick Graham hosiery collection. The line will be in stores for fall.
“I’m excited about the opportunity to expand into hosiery, and as we simultaneously roll out our underwear collection, we can get dominant placement in the men’s furnishings departments and e-com in the U.S. and Canadian markets,” Graham said. “And given McGregor/American Essentials’ global reach, this will also open new markets for us. I couldn’t be happier to partner with such an amazing team that totally gets my brand and has such a dominant position in the market.”
Graham, founder of Joe Boxer, established his eponymous men’s wear brand in 2014 and launched underwear and loungewear for holiday. In August, Tharanco Group Inc. acquired the majority stake formerly held by Iconix Brand Group. The new owners said they will partner with NGL, Graham’s sales and marketing company, to distribute the brand’s collection of men’s dress shirts and furnishings, expand into other categories and bring the label to overseas markets this year. The line also includes tailored clothing, outerwear and

Grace Wales Bonner Breaks Into Women’s Wear

GRACE’S GALS: Grace Wales Bonner is breaking into women’s wear, according to her label’s social media account.
The London-based men’s designer posted an image of a model wearing a white tailored shirt jacket with black trousers and wrote in the caption “Introducing Wales Bonner Women’s Wear.” She did not return a request for comment over the weekend.
For Matches, she has revamped certain pieces from her spring 2018 men’s line — such as her denim and velvet looks — with a softer and more feminine take, according to the retailer’s site.
Bonner presented her fall collection earlier this month during London Fashion Week Men’s. It focused on a story of a black sailor returning to land, and trying to make sense of his identity along the way. The collection was more fluid and relaxed compared to her previous efforts.
She graduated from Central Saint Martins in 2014 and that same year won the L’Oréal Professionnel Talent Award. The following year, Wales Bonner won Emerging Men’s Wear Designer at the British Fashion Awards and in 2016 scooped the LVMH Young Designer Prize.

Craig Green Collaborates With Grenson on Footwear Range, Plans to Expand Into Accessories

LONDON — Craig Green has teamed with the British footwear brand Grenson on a capsule range as he prepares to stride fully into the accessories space later this year.
“The basis of the new collection is molding and creating volume and excess within garments,” Green said. The designer’s theme of molding also informed his footwear design as he aimed to create shoes from metal.
“When we started working on the shoes with Grenson, it was almost the idea of attempting to make the shoes look like toy soldier shoes,” Green said.
Green wasn’t given a brief and had creative freedom to design. He said he enjoyed adding his own twist to the brand’s classic style.
“It was as if you took them out of a mold and you are left with the central ridge on the toe-line — that kind of idea,” Green said. He said he added excess fold flaps to cover the laces, which resulted in a protective and workwear aesthetic that suited the brand’s ethos. Most of his collections are based around, uniform, workwear and functionality.
Green had dabbled in shoe design in the past. As a student, he created an eight-style range for Bally of Switzerland and he also collaborated with

Kim Zolciak-Biermann Says She’ll Never Allow Her Estranged Mother Back Into Her Life

Kim Zolciak-Biermann hasn’t spoken to her mother Karen Zolciak in six years — and by the look of things, it appears the two won’t be reconciling anytime soon.

On Friday’s episode of Bravo’s Don’t Be Tardy, Kim let viewers know that her relationship with Karen was over. “My children, I will always be in their life,” the mother of six said. “But my mom? I will not let her back into my life, let’s just be clear.”

It’s not much of a surprise, considering the tense relationship the two women have had in the past. They last spoke at Kim and husband Kroy Biermann’s 2011 wedding, where Karen got into an explosive argument with Kroy when she was denied access to use a private restroom in their home.

Since then, Karen has only made things worse with Kim, 39 — shopping a tell-all book and suing her for grandparent’s visitation of older daughters Brielle, now 20, and Arianna, now 16.

“My mom and I have always butted heads. She’s kind of tormented me for many years,” Kim explained. “Marrying Kroy, you would think it would get easier but it’s actually only gotten worse. It’s one thing messing with Kroy and I, but when you’re messing with my children, it becomes a whole different ballgame for me.”

Karen had recently been making an effort to repair things, though — texting Kim, “Sorry to hear about Kash, call me sometime” after news broke about her son Kash’s terrifying dog bite.

That wasn’t enough for Kim. “My mom knows where I live. You could have sent a card,” she said.

“You can only do so much to a human being,” Kim also told Brielle. “I took it for 34 years until I finally said it’s not worth it to me. My mom, she was good in a lot of aspects. But when my mom told my husband on the day of our wedding to ‘f— off’ and she’s going to burn the f— house down? No”

Still, despite what had happened Brielle wanted to fix things, especially with her grandfather, Joe.

“I still miss him sometimes. He’s still family. He was part of my life for 14 to 15, years,” Brielle said. “They’re going to die one day. Maybe just be cool with each other. Not be friends, I don’t like having grudges and hating these people.”

The idea worked for Kim. “I would never call my mom back in a million years all that she’s done to me and my children. But I’m open to calling Poppy,” she said, using her father’s nickname.

When they called Joe, though, Karen answered the phone instead. And when asked by Brielle if she wanted to get together for dinner the next day, Karen said she couldn’t make it.

“It’s just not gonna work,” Karen said. “We’ve had plans on the calendar for weeks. We can’t just reschedule everything.”

RELATED VIDEO: Kim Zolciak-Biermann Renews Vows to Husband Kroy Biermann in Gorgeous Beach Ceremony

That only upset Kim more. “I just know how I feel about my six kids and I would drop anything to meet them,” she told her mom. “I’ve given birth to children you’ve never met them, and I just don’t get it.”

“I’m floored. I will never understand her mentality. Never,” Kim said, tearing up after hanging up the phone. “I would never do this to . I’m not even sad over them, I just would never do this to . I can’t relate as a mom. I just can’t understand.”

She added, “In time you would think you would change. I would drop anything for my kids. Your family, your blood, is a game to you. That’s what bothers me.”

Don’t Be Tardy airs Fridays (9 p.m. ET) on Bravo .

Mack Weldon continues to grow outside of the innerwear space.
The men’s basics brand is venturing into the accessories category with the ION Series, which will be available today on Mack Weldon’s e-commerce site.
“We were always talking about what was missing from our accessories. It felt really similar to what led us to reinvent men’s basics,” said Brian Berger, who cofounded the brand. “Everything out there felt just too sporty or too high fashion for our needs. Once we started hearing similar feedback from our customers, we knew it was time to go to work.”
The line, which retails from $ 28 to $ 148, includes a backpack, weekend bag, dopp kit, wallet, glove and hat. Matthew Congdon, creative director and vice president of design, said he and his team have layered innovative features into the items. The wallet, which will be available for spring, includes a mini charger along with RFID lining and a zip closure to keep things safe. Travel kits have antimicrobial silver lining and extra travel size bottles. And the weekender is made from industrial grade waterproof fabric and also includes a charger.

Newscaster Sneaks Taylor Swift Song Titles into Her Traffic Report — and the Singer Loves It

This newscaster’s reputation certainly won’t suffer after getting approval from Taylor Swift herself.

Laura Hettiger, who works for St. Louis’ KMOV station and serves as co-host of Great Day St. Louis, decided to put a musical twist on her morning traffic report, Friday, in honor of the 27-year-old songstress dropping her new album.

Hettiger incorporated Swift’s song names and lyrics into the broadcast, like advising viewers that there was plenty of “Blank Space” on the roads heading downtown and to be “Fearless” as they headed out to clear highways.

Swift herself saw the report thanks to her family members in the area and made sure to alert Hettiger to her approval via social media.

“My cousins in St. Louis sent this to me,” the “Look What You Made Me Do” singer wrote on Twitter Saturday. “I LOVE YOU @LauraKHettiger.”

https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js

The Grammy winner dropped her new album, Reputation, shortly before midnight on Thursday, and it appears to be everything her Swifties have been hoping for.

While many of the songs reveal intimate details about her secret relationship with boyfriend Joe Alwyn, Swift — who spent most of 2016 in hiding — also tells her side of the story on her past relationships and her feud with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian West.

RELATED VIDEO: Taylor Swift Slams Kanye West In New Song On Her Reputation Album

She additionally wrote a heartfelt letter to fans in Reputation‘s album booklet. “Here’s something I’ve learned about people,” she wrote. “We think we know someone, but the truth is that we only know the version of them they have chosen to show us.”

She continued, “We are never just good or just bad. We are mosaics of our worst selves and our best selves, our deepest secrets and our favorite stories to tell at a dinner party, existing somewhere between our well-lit profile photo and our drivers license shot.”

“I’ve been in the public eye since I was 15-years-old. On the beautiful, lovely side of that, I’ve been so lucky to make music for a living and look out into crowds of loving, vibrant people. On the other side of the coin, my mistakes have been used against me, my heartbreaks have been used as entertainment, and my songwriting has been trivialized as ‘oversharing,’ ” added Swift.

“Let me say it louder again, louder for those in the back… We think we know someone, but the truth is that we only know the version of them they have chosen to show us,” she concluded. “There will be no further explanation. There will just be reputation.”

Kent & Curwen Moves Into a Victorian School for Boys in Covent Garden

LONDON — Barring the giant black-and-white image of David Beckham wearing a coat from the fall 2017 collection, the new Kent & Curwen store in Covent Garden is all subtle nods to Englishmen, their love of sport and rough-around-the-edges charm.
The 1,200-square-foot store is located on the ground floor of the Victorian-era Adelphi School for Boys, but that’s only part of its old-world charm.

Inside Kent & Curwen’s new Covent Garden store
Tim Jenkins/WWD

Clothing racks, drawers and the paneling in the changing rooms are made from scratched and scarred reclaimed wood, while dark-stained oak panels have been laid on the floors and shiny white and mint green butchers’ tiles cover some of the walls.
There are leaded windows, raw brickwork, steel and brass fixtures and details, while the few bits of mid-century modern furniture — chairs and stools — have been covered in brown wool Fox Brothers fabric, similar to the suits and coats hanging in the store.
“We didn’t want the nods to London and to Britain to be too profound or too pastiche. It’s the clothes that needed to be prominent,” said Daniel Kearns, creative director of the brand, during a walk-through. “And we didn’t want it to be an intimidating place.”

Denver Cheerleading Coach Who Forced Students Into Splits Will Not Face Criminal Charges

The Colorado high school cheerleading coach at the center of a police investigation after video surfaced of him forcing cheerleaders into painful splits will not face criminal charges in the incident, the Denver District Attorney’s Office announced in a press release.

According to the release, the decision not to charge Ozell Williams was made after a “detail investigation” by the Denver Police Department, which included interviews with cheerleaders, their parents and school staff.

“The video of the incident involving the injured student that has been widely disseminated is painful to watch,” District Attorney Beth McCann said in a statement. “However, after a very thorough and careful review of all of the evidence gathered in the investigation and the statements of many members of the cheerleading squad, I have concluded that the evidence does not support the filing of criminal charges.”

Continued McCann, “In order to prove a charge of criminal behavior, the case must be proved beyond a reasonable doubt. There are differing opinions regarding the use of this technique of cheerleading training. While I believe the technique should not be used, that is not the standard of proof for a criminal case. Most of the cheerleading squad participated in the technique that day, and there are differing accounts of the circumstances.”

The video, reportedly filmed during Denver’s East High School cheer camp in June, showed incoming-freshman, Ally Wakefield, being held down into a splits position by fellow cheerleaders and her recently-hired coach, Williams. Wakefield excruciatingly yelled “please, stop!” multiple times in the video as Williams pushed her down further by her shoulders.

RELATED VIDEO: Denver Cheerleading Coach Under Investigation Was Also Fired from Previous Job for Forcing

After the clip went viral in August, Williams was placed on leave alongside six other administrators at the school — East Principal Andy Mendelsberg, East Athletic Director Lisa Porter, East Assistant Cheer Coach Mariah Cladis and DPS Deputy General Counsel Michael Hickman — Denver Public Schools Superintendent Tom Boasberg told PEOPLE in a statement.

Williams was dismissed and Principal Mendelsberg retired as a result of the controversy. The school’s athletic director, Porter, also was removed from her position, CBS News reported in August.

“The individual involved should not be a coach in high school sports and he no longer is,” said McCann in her statement supporting the decision to not pursue charges. “The principal and athletic director of the school have retired and resigned. The message should be clear that this type of technique has no place in high school cheerleading coaching. The bad judgment of the coach, however, does not constitute a prosecutable crime.”
