Reebok Veteran Chris Froio Returns to U.S. to Serve as General Manager at Reebok America

BACK TO BOSTON: Having done some significant layoffs in recent months in advance of its planned move to new corporate headquarters in October, Reebok International has tapped Chris Froio as general manager of Reebok America.
With 25 years of experience with the company both in the U.S. and abroad, Froio is now overseeing the brand’s efforts to build sales in the increasingly competitive U.S. market. Most recently he served as Reebok’s brand director in Western Europe, which became the brand’s fastest-growing market and nearly doubled sales, according to Reebok president Matt O’Toole. He was based in Herzogenaurach, Germany, but his successor has not yet been named, a Reebok spokesman said Tuesday.
Froio, whose former roles at the company included head of Reebok’s Training business unit, is now heading up Reebok’s U.S. retail and wholesale organizations. He reports to O’Toole.
As an indication of its commitment to the domestic business, the company combined its global and U.S. teams into one in order to maximize the full resources of the brand to work on bolstering the U.S. business. In addition to well-established competitors like Nike, Under Armour, Puma, New Balance and Asics, Reebok has a slew of other labels trying to chip away at its

Guy’s Date With An Olive Garden Manager Unearths Deep, Dark Secrets

A San Francisco-based writer blessed the interwebs Wednesday with the apparent answer to a question as old as Olive Garden’s most famous slogan: What exactly would a customer have to do to no longer be considered “family?”

Joe Wadlington wrote on Twitter that he went on a date Tuesday night and discovered his prospective love interest is a former general manager for the chain. But not just any Olive Garden ― his date was the general manager of the Times Square Olive Garden. You know, the one that’s three floors high, charges $ 400 a head for its New Year’s Eve bash, and leaves everyone wondering why tourists visiting New York are eating at an Olive Garden?

Wadlington reacted as any human with a pulse would have: He said he launched into a full-blown interrogation about the restaurant’s innermost workings and, of course, the infamous unlimited salad and breadsticks.

He related what his date declared the Garden’s worst-case scenario: The horror of running out of unlimited breadsticks is far more upsetting than anything else that can possibly happen at the restaurant.

Consider the story Wadlington says his date shared about a knife fight between two women in the restaurant.

“You may be surprised, but yes, Olive Garden running out of breadsticks is worse than a knife fight,” the date reported.

The extensive thread also answers many questions we’ve had about Olive Garden. Diners at the Times Square location pay higher prices that those at other locations; the restaurant continues seating until 2 a.m. and hosts mainly Brazilians, Puerto Ricans, and Americans from Ohio; and, most importantly, you can’t get kicked out for sitting and eating only as much unlimited salad and breadsticks as you can physically handle.

The Olive Garden did not respond to requests for comment. Wadlington declined to give the name of his date, saying that he’d already been a pretty good sport about the tweets. But he assured The Huffington Post the conversation really happened, though he notes it’s possible his date exaggerated. (Eater reports wait times aren’t as long these days as the two-hour delay Wadlington’s date described.)

Either way, we wish Wadlington and his date a lifetime filled with happiness and pasta passes

“We will be going on another date,” Wadlington told HuffPost.

Tom Hiddleston Reveals He Peed on His Night Manager Costar Tom Hollander After Jellyfish Sting

Tom Hiddleston proved he will do just about anything for his costars.

The Kong: Skull Island star revealed he urinated on Taboo actor Tom Hollander when the two of them were filming The Night Manager. According to Hiddleston, Hollander politely asked him to do so after getting stung by a jellyfish while filming the BBC series in Mallorca, and being a proper English gentleman, Hiddleston accommodated the request.

“Tom got stung by a jellyfish and he shouted across the beach, ‘I say old sport could you come and pee on me?’ and I engagingly obliged,” the actor, 36, admitted during an upcoming appearance on The Graham Norton Show.

Unfortunately for both of them, Hiddleston has since learned the trick isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.

“I’ve since read up on it and I don’t think it works — it’s an old wives’ tale,” he said.

Hi, Death? I’d Like To Speak To Your Manager, Please

No, I don’t mind waiting.

Hello, sorry to have to do this, but I’ve recently had trouble with one of your employees. I think his name is Derek? Or maybe Darth?

Yes, Death, that’s it. Well, I can tell by your grim expression that perhaps you’ve had trouble with this one before.

I’ve been a customer here for over 30 years now, and I have to say I don’t remember the last time I was so disappointed with the service. I would say over the last year the quality has taken quite a dive.

Have you guys changed owners? Listen, shit happens, I get it. You can’t expect the service to always be perfect. But 2016 was awful.

I heard Barry is leaving! Awww, we love Barry. So smart, so courteous. He’s been a great leader around here.

Is it because of Don, that jackass you put in charge in November? Sorry for being frank, but he says the most insulting things, especially to women, and he attracts a lot of unsavory characters wherever he goes.

But anyway, I just really hope Death’s not around forever. Is that why you’ve been losing so many people?

Seems like every week there’s another person gone, and Facebook explodes with goodbye posts … Oh, I follow you guys on Facebook.

I’ve spoken to other customers who expressed similar concerns. Maybe it’s the nostalgia element, but we miss the way this place used to be. We miss the people who used to be here.

And hey, maybe they’ve gone to a better place, but I think 2017 could still be a great year for everyone here, too.

Anyway, sorry to be that customer. I just felt the need to say something. Thanks for listening.

Psst, and maybe think about getting rid of that jackass you put in charge!

Shanice Makes Up a Fake Manager | Flex and Shanice | Oprah Winfrey Network

Tune in Saturdays at 10/9c

Shanice is trying to kick her music career back into gear and, unfortunately, the studios don’t want her mother and former manager involved. Matters are made worse when Shanice’s mom finds out she was fired for a fake manager.

Most people know 90s pop sensation Shanice for her Grammy-nominated hit song, “I Love Your Smile” and actor Flex Alexander from his hit TV show, “One on One,” but few people know this fairytale couple both faced career stumbling blocks and quickly hit financial rock bottom. Flex and Shanice realized that they needed to take their wedding vow “for richer or poorer” to heart, so with their two adorable kids, 12-year-old Imani and 10-year-old Elijah, in tow, they moved into a rental home and brought their hilarious extended family into the mix to help cover the cost. A total of nine people, including Shanice’s “momager” Crystal, make this truly a full house where anyone’s business becomes everyone’s business.

Oprah Winfrey Network is the first and only network named for, and inspired by, a single iconic leader. Oprah Winfrey’s heart and creative instincts inform the brand — and the magnetism of the channel.
