Lady Gaga Surprises Crowd Alongside Donatella Versace at Stonewall Day in N.Y.

Lady Gaga just made a surprise appearance alongside Donatella Versace in Manhattan’s Greenwich Village to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the uprising at the Stonewall Inn, which paved the way for gay rights.
Kicking off a weekend of LGBT Pride events in New York City, an emotional Gaga, adorned in over-the-knee rainbow boots and a Versace jacket, took to the stage to address an excited crowd at the Stonewall Day pop-up event near the historic venue.
“I’m so emotional today. This community has fought and continued to fight a war of acceptance, a war of tolerance, and of the most relentless bravery. You are the definition of courage. Do you know that? I feel so honored and privileged to even be asked to be here,” the Oscar winning performer said.
“I really, really love you. You are strong. You are so strong. You welcomed me into your community in the most beautiful of way that I will never forget. My whole life changed because of you.”
She concluded her empowered speech by telling the audience that true love is when you would take a bullet for someone and that’s what she would do for them.

New York Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo said Wednesday that Luxury Men’s Apparel Group, the parent of Hickey Freeman, has committed to creating up to 80 jobs over the next three years at its factory in the upstate city. LMAG has also said it would retain the current 420 positions in the factory.

Hermès Converts N.Y. Men’s Store Into Record Shop

NEW YORK — Hermès has gotten the memo.
The French luxury brand has taken the movement toward experiential retailing to the next level, completely transforming its men’s store here into a vinyl record store for 10 days.
On Thursday night, the Madison Avenue emporium debuted Silk Mix, an art installation centered around music that has already been showcased in Madrid and Rome and now makes its way into the U.S.
“It’s all about silk and music,” said Robert Chavez, chief executive officer of Hermès. The concept was the brainchild of Véronique Nichanian, artistic director of Hermès men’s wear, and Christophe Goineau, creative director of men’s silk. They worked with Thierry Planelle, who has curated music for the company’s men’s shows for the last 15 years, to bring the idea to life.
The main floor was reworked to replicate an old-fashioned record store with bins of albums on display and a bank of turntables to give them a spin. But these albums had an Hermès twist: each of the covers sported a different silk design from the men’s assortment. “There are 225 styles and 53 different patterns,” Chavez said. “And you can pick your favorite and then play it.”

The album covers were all created from

John Varvatos to Show at N.Y.: Men’s

NEW YORK — After seven years of showing his men’s collection in Milan, John Varvatos is coming back home.
The designer has revealed that he will show his spring 2016 collection in July at the inaugural New York Fashion Week: Men’s, the new stand-alone showcase for American men’s fashion created by the Council of Fashion Designers of America. Varvatos will close the event with a runway show on July 16. The designer’s last New York fashion show was in spring 2008.
“From the time I started my brand in 2000, the timing between fashion week and the men’s wear calendar was never truly aligned,” Varvatos said. “After eight years of showing in New York, I moved my show to Milan. We’ve shown there for the past seven years and it’s been a wonderful experience and a real boost for our international growth.”
But the idea of supporting the new men’s fashion week kept nagging at him, and a lightbulb finally went off in his head when he opened a flagship in his hometown of Detroit a few weeks ago. “We’re the only retailer in downtown Detroit — literally, we’re the only ones there,” he said. “But like we did on the Bowery [when
