Here’s What Disney Couples Would Look Like Older And Still In Love

Your favorite Disney couples really did get their happily ever afters.

In the illustrations below, Pedro Fequiere of BuzzFeed imagines what Disney pairs would be up to after the credits rolled.

Cinderella and Prince Charming, for instance, are still making goo-goo eyes at each other and throw a damn good royal ball for their subjects.

Belle and Adam ― yeah, we forgot that was the Beast’s name, too ― continue to live in their castle with Cogsworth, Lumière and Mrs. Potts, who are thankfully now all retired. (They deserve it.)

Mulan and Shang and are still as sassy and competitive as ever.

“I could imagine them being really competitive at this age and training kids who want to be in the royal army,” Fequiere told The Huffington Post.

Now that Ariel and Eric’s daughter Melody is all grown up (yes, they had a kid. See: “The Little Mermaid II”), the empty nesters are busy traveling the world.

As for Aladdin and Jasmine, they’re in power following the death of Jasmine’s dad. (RIP, Sultan.) The Genie pops into the palace every now and then to sleep on the royal couch. (And of course Jasmine is still rocking the crop top and giving us major hair goals.)

Fequiere said he created the illustrations so fans could get a sense of closure over the fate of their favorite characters.

“Most stories start off with ‘once upon a time…’ and end with a ‘happily ever after…,” he said. “I thought it would be really interesting to see what that looked like.”

Head over to BuzzFeed to see the rest of the illustrations.

Khloe Kardashian on Her Traumatizing First Waxing Experience at 13, Getting Older and Being Inspired by Kylie Jenner

Things don’t always go as expected for Khloé Kardashian. But the completely candid reality TV star is known for rolling with the punches in many aspects of her life, including her personal beauty journey.

Take, for example, the first time she ever got waxed. She didn’t plan on it, but that’s because her mom, Kris Jenner, planned it for her. “My mom has always been very crazy about rituals and routines,” Kardashian tells PeopleStyle recently. “I remember she made me get a facial for the first time, I was like 13, and I guess I’d started having hair under my arms. During my facial, I had someone come and wax my underarms and I was so terrified because she didn’t warn me! I was like, ‘What is happening?!’ I thought that was part of the facial. It was so traumatizing.”

And her surprise waxing actually has a lasting impact psychologically. “I remember I didn’t want a facial for like years cause I thought that came with it,” she said. “It’s funny because my mom is so polished. Most people would be like, ‘This is what you do. Take a razor and so on.’ And my mom was like, ‘We’re waxing this!’” (This set the precedent for Kylie Jenner’s forced manis as a teen, too!)

Yet, at the same time, it’s her family who inspire her to feel beautiful everyday. “I’m a huge energy person—I feed off of other people’s energy, and I try to get them to feed off of mine,” she says. “The people around me make me feel beautiful.”

And that includes sister Kylie Jenner. “I’m so proud of Kylie cause I love when she is bare-faced and at her freest,” she said. “When I was younger, I never wanted to be bare-faced, cause you’re a little more insecure. So I love Kylie’s self-security at a young age.”

RELATED: Why Khloé Kardashian Takes Credit for Kim Kardashian West’s Nude Selfie Twitter War

In fact, it’s both of her youngest Jenner sisters, Kylie, 18, and Kendall, 20, who are some of her main beauty inspirations. “If I am on vacation with Kendall and Kylie, they’re literally Indian-style, copping a squat, in a bikini and I’m like, ‘What!’ But they’ve always had those bodies,” she says. “I’ve just always wanted to be one of those girls. I never wore bikinis as a kid, I’ve never showcased my body like that. I have always been a one-piece girl or I was just didn’t feel comfortable going to the beach with my friends. I am still very appreciative of how hard I have worked for my body now, I just wonder, ‘How did those little bitches get so comfortable?!’”

Khloe Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, and Kylie Jenner Getty

That said, she finally stopped comparing herself to others and started feeling comfortable and confident with her body. “I have grown to have a ton of self-love, and that’s something I had to work on, so I am at a place where I just feel beautiful within my own skin,” she says. “But I have always wondered, when can I just sit Indian-style? I don’t know if I will ever be, but I’m not like, ‘God I need to be in a turtleneck.’ But being older, and now finally being like, ‘OK, I can be in a bathing suit around my friends.’”

RELATED PHOTOS: Khloé Kardashian’s Unbelievable Hair Transformation

So, is Kardashian afraid of getting older? “In 10 years, I don’t know what I am going to look like—facial, hair color, body, anything,” she says. “But I also think that’s the fun of life. I hope I age gracefully. I believe in lasers and fillers—whatever makes you happy. But I am not obsessive about that stuff.”

“I just like to take care of myself,” she adds. “I sleep with oils and lotions on my face every night and I focus on being healthy from the inside out, taking 20 vitamins every morning and drinking water. That’s how I want to age gracefully.”

What The Older Generation Can Learn From Girls Like Rowan Blanchard

When Rowan Blanchard came out as queer last week, saying, “In my life-only ever liked boys however I don’t wanna label myself as straight gay or whateva,” I let out an audible squeal of delight.

Here was a 14-year-old Disney star speaking her mind and asserting her identity, unapologetically, in the face of incredible attention and scrutiny. I was in awe of this teen girl taking steps to normalize queer identity and educate those unaware of what being queer even means.

If you’re unfamiliar with Blanchard, she’s best known for playing Riley Matthews, the titular character on “Girl Meets World,” a TV-sequel to “Boy Meets World.” I first became aware of Blanchard through “GMW,” which I watched when it first premiered in 2014 out of a mixture of curiosity and nostalgia. (For what it’s worth, it’s a cute show, carrying on the themes of friendship and self-growth that made the original so charming.)

But I was first really struck by Blanchard when she eloquently answered a fan’s question about intersectional feminism on her Tumblr. “To acknowledge feminism from a one-sided view when the literal definition is the equality of the sexes is not feminism at all,” the then-13-year-old Blanchard wrote, deftly breaking down why it’s so important for the feminist movement to recognize women who aren’t white and cisgender.

That post is just one in a long string of impressive moments from the actress. In the last year she has questioned sexist red carpet interviews, pointed out the problematic nature of “squad goals,” championed Planned Parenthood, and explained why it’s not OK to tell women to “smile.”

A brief perusal of Blanchard’s Instagram comments will turn up dozens of Rowan-obsessed fangirls who discovered her when she first came to prominence on “GMW,” and don’t necessarily understand her more radical side. Amidst comments like “You’re so perfect,” and “You’re my hero,” under Blanchard’s photos, you see some variation of “Do you ever smile?” and “Why don’t you smile anymore? You’d be so much prettier if you smiled.”

It’s hard enough being a teenage girl. I can’t even begin to imagine what it’s like to be a teenage girl with so many eyes on you, especially when you’re affiliated with a brand that’s known for being almost unrealistically wholesome.

But Blanchard, despite the pressure, despite both the overwhelming positive and negative attention, has remained poised, brave, and unapologetic about existing as she is.

Blanchard’s fearless embrace of her identity and the platform she has to create social change is indicative of a new crop of young women in Hollywood who are refusing to be defined, controlled, or silenced. This includes girls like Willow Smith, Amandla Stenberg, and Tavi Gevinson, who are all outspoken about identity, race, and gender equality in a way that feels pretty unprecedented.

A few days ago, Rowan Blanchard liked a tweet of mine, and my phone blew up with text messages from friends. “Oh my God,” one friend, said, “I’m freaking out. I know I’m 27 but I basically look up to her.” And I get that. I often wonder what my teenagedom would have looked like had girls like Smith, Stenberg, and Blanchard existed in the public eye as I was coming to terms with who I was as a woman, and as a black woman.

What would seeing Stenberg rocking a fro on the cover of Teen Vogue had meant to be as a 17-year-old black girl not yet ready to embrace my natural hair? How would seeing a young white girl like Blanchard publicly acknowledge her own white privilege and speak out against police brutality have impacted the way I approached speaking about race with my white friends? Would owning my identity have been easier if I had seen that (oft painful, raw) transformation modeled honestly by more more famous peers?

There were many women I had to look up to as a teenager: I admired Brandy, and The Spice Girls and Lauryn Hill. But there weren’t necessarily preteen and teen stars who were speaking so openly and frankly about feminism and race in a way that resonated with me. As much as us ’90s kids feel deeply nostalgic for the past, there’s something to be said for the way the current generation has been able to share and spread ideas that help them better understand themselves, as well as the world they live in. We may have had Tamagotchis, but they have Tumblr.

As adults, we always cling to the hope that we might have something to teach those who come after us, but the truth if they also have a whole lot to teach us.

Just as you master (or at least escape) adolescence, being a grown woman presents its own unique set of challenges. But there’s something we can all learn from this new crop of outspoken teen girls: it’s OK to be yourself, it’s OK to make mistakes, and you’re never too old or too young to learn.

Should You ‘Toy’ With An Older Woman?

There are board games meant for almost all phases of life — from childhood to teens to the thirty-something crowd. But why should a certain gender/age group be left out with nothing but “Old Maid” to entertain them? Here’s to revamping wild nights around the kitchen table for the 50 plus crowd. And men, don’t stop reading here — you may need to know the rules of the game(s) if you expect to “play.”

MENOPAUSEOPOLY — The classic game of monopolizing stuff from your opponents as you wearily drag your little pewter token — a miniature fan, a Naturalizer high heel shoe, L’Oreal hair color kit, Prozac pill, a syringe of Botox, an iron and a thimble (see, I told you it would be classic, therefore still chauvinistic!) — around the board attempting to purchase back the properties of your Mind, Body and Spirit that you once possessed control over. “Memory Lane, Sexual Drive, Brain Cell Way, Stability Street, Metabolism Court and Smooth Skin Avenue” are just some spots you can land on. The utilities are represented by “Energy and Pep” and “Hydration.” Or take a ride on the “Wispy Waistline” Railroad. But if you land on the unmade bed, you must go directly to “Never Satisfied Spouse,” do not Pass the Doctor and do not collect your 200 mg prescription for testosterone.

CHEST — This is a game of the utmost strategy and wits, wherein you move your Queen many various bra sizes around the black and white checkerboard floor of a department store until you capture your current correct cup size, which will vary depending on if you just ingested a grain of salt. But “breast assured,” once you accomplish this, you can confidently call out, “Chestmate!” to your opponent.

HOOTS ON LADDERS — Best if played directly after a good, satisfying game of “Chest.” The object is to walk by a construction crew and if you can still get any man at all, (even the male parrot on the drywall contractor’s shoulder) to wolf-whistle after giving you the once-over, you win! Batteries included.

I APOLOGIZE — It’s “Sorry” redone with an Anger Management theme. Simplistic little game with easy to follow rules, 1) I yell or throw my Estrogen cream at you. 2) I try to atone while making flimsy hormonal excuses. 3) You forgive me. 4) I do it all over again on the next roll of the dice. Once I grovel enough, I graduate to the brand new 12 step game, “I Surrender,” which culminates at the finish line, where I sheepishly admit that even my Higher Power has no control over my temper during menopause.

AFFLICTIONARY — Be the first to sketch what ails you on the included pad of paper and let your partner guess before the timer runs out. You’ll draw a body with sweat pouring out of it and they’ll guess “a bee sting.” You’ll doodle a giant stomach with lots of excess skin and they’ll guess “fallen arches.” At this point, you will need a new partner. Makes a great party game until you pen your biggest affliction of all… a realistic picture of all the guests attending who have gotten on your last nerve. They guess correctly. The party’s over! Nite, nite! Note: Mental Notes sold separately.

THOUGHTZZZZEE — Who needs “Yahtzee” when you can noisily rattle six dice in a little jar (simultaneously giving yourself a migraine) just to eventually spill them out on the table to formulate thoughts that are so fleeting in your own head, you usually can’t remember them in time to vocalize, write or act them out? But be sure to scream out “Thoughtzee!!” at the top of your lungs so other players will run out of Tylenol and need to borrow yours. Comes with Tylenol PM bonus bottles so you can put the ZZZZZZ part of the game into your sleep where it belongs.

GET A CLUE! — Oh, that Miss Scarlet, she’s still sexy and hot, especially with this new “Night Sweat” edition. But watch out, Professor Plum and all other male players — she’s always conspiring with her gal pal suspects. The crime? “A lethal male bashing with Mrs. White and Mrs. Peacock in the ballroom with the mouth” — the deadliest weapon of all.

2014-09-10-photo29.PNG

Oh dear, my mother must’ve gotten to her first and chopped off her tresses! “Women over 40 shouldn’t have long hair!” Do you agree?

TRIVIAL DISPUTE — It’s the game of Life… in other words, who argues it better? The never-ending quest to always be right is the central theme of this fast-paced question and answer card game played in teams. Remind other players (your children) that you could’ve gone to law school if you hadn’t gotten married and devoted your life completely to raising a family. Fight with them over borrowing skirts from your teenager’s closet. How else are you supposed to feel younger? And if they told you they were staying late after school but you forgot, it’s still THEIR fault for not reminding you. Always remember to play The Guilt Card (find it at the bottom of the deck) and you have one free, “Because I said so” pass to be used anytime you appear to be losing. Good luck!

TRAGIC 8 BALL — The Magic 8 ball just as you remember it, but this time, you will receive prophetic answers to all your earth-shattering calamities. Go ahead and ask questions like, “Am I destined to have a muffin top in all my jeans or just the skinny jeans?” and, “Am I wrong for wanting men to suffer through every single one of these 34 menopausal symptoms too?” and of course, “Didn’t Heather Locklear look majorly Photoshopped on the cover of this week’s People magazine?” The answers of course will always be “Reply Hazy, try again,” because the “Tragic 8 Ball” is now a 50-year-old toy and therefore also going through menopause, with brain fog of its own.

Now, I’ll race ya to the nearest Toys”R”Us, where thankfully, they still have the plain and simple Randyland, err Candyland, with no age limit to the innocent fun it brings!

Have a favorite childhood game? How would you give it a makeover for your generation?

In this vid, which the cat food company did with Buzzfeed, a sage old feline gives advice to a new kitten.

Midlife and Older Adults and HIV

Midlife and Older Adults and HIV

Get a detailed overview of the social services provided for HIV-infected midlife and older adults, and find out where social work practice with this growing population is headed! As more potent medications are being developed to treat HIV, people who have contracted the virus are living longer lives than previously expected. Survival means new side effects and increasingly complex issues, now compounded by the diseases of aging. All this presents unprecedented challenges to social service and benefit systems.
