Former Smallville Star Released on Bail in Sex Trafficking Case

Allison Mack was released on bail and will be under home detention at her parents’ house after being accused of sex trafficking, sex trafficking conspiracy, and forced labor conspiracy.

Mack is well known for her work on Smallville, on which she played Chloe Sullivan for 10 seasons. Mack’s indictment stems from her involvement with the group known as NXIVM.

Mack is accused of luring young women into the secretive group under the guise of helping them with self-empowerment. In reality, prosecutors allege, Mack was part of a scheme meant to traffick these young women into a sex ring for Keith Raniere, the founder of NXIVM, and others.

The LPGA Just Released a Strict New Dress Code Eliminating Plunging Necklines, Short Skirts and Leggings

Women seem to be continually defending their clothing choices right now. We’ve seen instances from high school graduating seniors, mall shoppers and even female reporters in the House Speaker’s lobby, all of whom have stood up to the backlash and body shamers while promoting change in the process. But according to news from the Ladies Professional Golf Association, the organization is on a mission to reverse its players’ dress code by banning shirts with “plunging necklines,” racerback tank tops, short skirts and even leggings.

According to Golf Digest, it all started with an email sent out on July 2 from LPGA player president Vicki Goetze-Ackerman to female golfers on tour. In the message, it spelled out every new wardrobe restriction to go into effect on July 17.

Racerback with a mock or regular collar are allowed (no collar = no
Plunging necklines are NOT allowed.
Leggings, unless under a skort or shorts, are NOT allowed
Length of skirt, skort, and shorts MUST be long enough to not see your bottom area (even if covered by under shorts) at any time, standing or bent over.
Appropriate attire should be worn to pro-am parties. You should be dressing yourself to present a professional image. Unless otherwise told “no,” golf clothes are acceptable. Dressy jeans are allowed, but cut-offs or jeans with holes are NOT allowed.
Workout gear and jeans (all colors) NOT allowed inside the ropes
Joggers are NOT allowed

Also in the email Goetze-Ackerman makes it known that players are responsible for working out these new restrictions with their clothing sponsors and if they fail to abide by the new guidelines, the penalty for violating the dress code is a $ 1,000 fine, which will double with each offense.

Heather Daly-Donofrio, the tour’s chief communications and tour operations officer, provided a statement to Golf Digest saying: “The dress code requires players to present themselves in a professional manner to reflect a positive image for the game,” she says. “While we typically evaluate our policies at the end of the year, based on input from our players, we recently made some minor adjustments to the policy to address some changing fashion trends. The specifics of the policy have been shared directly with the members.”

Golf caught up with pros after the U.S. Women’s Open, which took place over the weekend, and reported that many received the news with mixed reviews.

“The only point I agree with is that there should not be low-cut tops, but I’ve never really seen that be an issue,” said Sandra Gal, a pro golfer on the LPGA Tour. “I think racerbacks look great on women and I think short skirts have been around forever, especially in tennis, and I don’t think it’s hurt that sport at all, considering they play for the same prize money as the men. Our main objective is clear: play good golf. But part of being a woman, and especially a female-athlete, is looking attractive and sporty and fit, and that’s what women’s tennis does so well. Why shouldn’t we? I’ve talked to a few other players and, like me, they don’t agree with it, either.”

Fellow pro golfer Jane Park explained that she thought the email was targeting a specific group of golfers. “Most of us keep things pretty conservative, so this only really applies to a few people. Honestly, I don’t see why everyone is making such a big deal about it,” she said.

Pro Christina Kim gave some detail on who those specific golfers may be that could benefit from a stricter dress code. “I may sound like an old fuddy-duddy, but this is our place of business and I think players should look professional. Do you really need ventilation for your side-boob? It’s not going to make your score better. There were a couple of events earlier this year where we didn’t have our strongest fields and some players came from other tours or developmental tours and they’re not necessarily under contract with clothing companies and so there was some non-traditional outfits. Hopefully spelling out what is considered appropriate will help those players.”

What do you think of the restrictions?

‘Pounded By The Gay Color Changing Dress’ Released By Chuck Tingle

Just when you thought you’d seen the last of #TheDress…

Erotic writer Chuck Tingle took it upon himself last week to turn one of the most viral sensations of all time into a gay erotic novella.

Published on Feb. 27, “Pounded By The Gay Color Changing Dress” is marketed as “4,400 words of sizzling human on gay dress action, including anal, blowjobs, rough sex, cream pies, and color changing dress love.”

color changing dress

After a few days on Amazon, “Pounded By The Gay Color Changing Dress” is still sitting comfortably with all five star reviews. The Amazon description tells us:

Kent is a man with a problem, floundering in the gay dating scene as he looks for something that doesn’t seem to exist, a man who is wild, adventurous and rugged while still being smart, gentle and sophisticated.

Just when Kent is certain that he’ll never find the best of both worlds, he meets Channing, a living gay dress who is famous online for appearing black and blue to some, and gold and white to others.

It’s not long before Channing shows Kent that it’s all about perspective, in a hardcore gay love affair that will reveal once and for all just what color the dress really is.

In case you are totally out of the loop, photos of a dress went viral last week that — for reasons we still don’t necessarily understand — appeared to consist of different colors — either black and blue or white and gold — depending on who was looking at it and when. #TheDress received so much attention on the Internet that reportedly became Buzzfeed’s most viral post of all time.

“I saw a funny story on the Internet about a goofball dress that cant make up his mind,” Tingle told The Huffington Post in an email. “I thought it would make a good tingler so I stayed up all night drinking chocolate milk and made myself feel weird. The next morning my son helped me edit and then we published it.”

Curious to see what all the fuss is about? “Pounded By The Gay Color Changing Dress” is available on Amazon.

Now, on January 13, “The Case Against 8” will be available on DVD. Check out the clip above to hear from some of the gay and lesbian couples who were engaged in this fight to overturn Proposition 8.

New Joss Whedon Film ‘In Your Eyes’ Released Online

Good news, Joss Whedon fans: His latest movie isn’t just coming soon. It’s out right now.

“In Your Eyes,” written and produced by Whedon and directed by Brin Hill, was screened on Sunday night at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York. Then, in a surprise move, Whedon announced it would be available immediately for digital download.

“It’s a very exciting night for us because it’s not just the premiere of the film. It is the worldwide release date because as of now, ‘In Your Eyes’ is available on any Internet-capable device at InYourEyesMovie.com for the starting price of $ 5,” Whedon said in a taped appearance shown after the film. “This is exciting for us because it means we get to explore yet another new form of distribution and we get $ 5.”

“In Your Eyes” is a supernatural romance starring Zoe Kazan and Michael Stahl-David, who share a telepathic bond. As the clip above shows, that connection first appears in childhood.

“It’s about two people, classic Joss loner heroes, who are looking to break out of their limited circumstances and band together — a la The Avengers and anything else he’s done — and find connection and meaning,” Hill told USA Today.

Hill told the Los Angeles Times that Whedon was not on set for filming, but provided both notes and guidance, and advised him “not to be precious, to make the movie as audience-friendly as possible.”

The movie was released by Bellwether Pictures, formed by Whedon and his wife, Kai Cole, to make small-budget films outside of the major studios. Whedon’s next big project — barring no more surprises in the meantime — is 2015’s “The Avengers: Age of Ultron.”

Pussy Riot Member Maria Alyokhina Released From Jail In Russia Under Amnesty Deal

NIZHNY NOVGOROD, Russia, Dec 23 (Reuters) – Pussy Riot punk band member Maria Alyokhina walked free from jail on Monday, immediately dismissing the Kremlin’s amnesty that granted her early release as a stunt that would not change her attitude to President Vladimir Putin.

Alyokhina, 25, one of two women serving two-year sentences for a profanity-laced protest against Putin in a Russian Orthodox church in 2012, was released under the amnesty the president has said would show the Russian state is humane.

They were convicted of hooliganism motivated by religious hatred for their “punk prayer” criticising Putin’s ties to the Church, and had been due for release in March.

Alyokhina echoed critics who said the amnesty proposed by Putin was far too narrow and appeared aimed at deflecting criticism over human rights before Russia hosts the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi in February.

“I do not think it is a humanitarian act, I think it is a PR stunt,” she said by telephone in comments to the Russian Internet and TV channel Dozhd. “My attitude to the president has not changed.”

In addition to the amnesty, Putin unexpectedly pardoned Mikhail Khodorkovsky, the Russian former oil tycoon who is widely seen by Kremlin critics and Western politicians as a political prisoner.

Khodorkovsky, who was freed after more than a decade in jail and flown to Germany, said Putin is seeking to improve Russia’s image while also showing that he is confident in his grip on power after weathering large opposition protests and winning a third term last year.

Putin wants to send “a signal to society and the world that he feels secure and is not afraid”, Khodorkovsky said in an interview with he Russian magazine the New Times.

Lawyers say the amnesty will also enable 30 people arrested in Russia after a Greenpeace protest against Arctic oil drilling to avoid trial on hooliganism charges, removing another irritant in ties with the West.

Putin said the amnesty was not drafted with the Greenpeace activists or Pussy Riot in mind. Looking confident and relaxed during an annual news conference last week, he described Pussy Riot’s protest as disgraceful, saying it “went beyond all boundaries”.

Human rights activists have said the amnesty is far too limited, estimating will free fewer than 1,500 convicts, a small fraction of the nearly 700,000 Russians behind bars.

Alyokhina, bundled in a thick green prison jacket and with her long curly hair loose, smiled as she left detention in the company of her lawyer and told Reuters she was feeling well.

She said that had it have been possible for her to refuse the amnesty, she would done so out of solidarity for those still in jail and that she now planned to lobby for prisoners rights.

“I was keen to reject this amnesty, but the prison had received an order that is why I was brought here,” she told Reuters.

“I would like now to deal with the issue of prison, I would like to engage in human rights … I’m not afraid of anything anymore – believe me.”

Pyotr Verzilov, the husband of fellow band member Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, 24, who is also due to be freed under the amnesty, which covered inmates convicted of hooliganism and mothers of young children, was awaiting her release outside a jail in the Siberian city of Krasnoyarsk.

A third band member, Yekaterina Samutsevich, was released last year when a judge suspended her sentence on appeal.

Tolokonnikova’s father Andrei told Reuters last week he sees his daughter’s planned release not an act of mercy but “an absolutely cynical game” of public relations ahead of the Olympics. (Additional reporting and writing Alissa de Carbonnel; Editing by Alison Williams)
