“As my time out of the racecar was extended, and as rumors about my retirement started getting louder, a lot of people spoke up. They had a very hard time dealing with it all,” Earnhardt Jr. writes of both fans and people in his inner circle. He continues, “They looked for something or someone to blame.”
He continues, addressing “anyone who tried — and might still try — to blame Amy.”
Earnhardt Jr. recalls, “Do you want to know who was setting the alarm every morning and dragging my miserable butt out of bed to do my exercises? Amy. You want to know who set up my gym in our garage and then went in there every day, putting me through my paces like a personal trainer-turned-drill-sergeant for two or three hours a day? Amy.”
The athlete announced his retirement from NASCAR in 2017 after suffering his second concussion in four years in 2016, The New York Times reported.

He notes in the book that Amy attended every doctor’s appointment with him as he recovered from the most recent head injury, the scary symptoms of which he details in the book through journal entries.
Earnhardt Jr. says, “You want to know how many times she said, ‘Dale, I think you need to quit driving racecars’? Zero. Not once. We had conversations about whether or not I should keep driving, but when we did they were started by me.”
“Amy knew from the very beginning that I loved racing,” he concludes in Racing to the Finish: My Story. “She was never going to be the person to get in the way of that, even during the times that racing didn’t love me back.”
MILAN — Speculation over the future of Trussardi has been mounting in Milan. The family-owned house has been for years the target of merger-and-acquisition rumors. Most recently, management company Quattro R SGR SpA, incorporated in 2016, has been indicated as a potential suitor. Quattro R manages a fund of more than 700 million euros and, according to its web site, it “targets Italian companies with solid business fundamentals despite temporary financial distress.” The fund, which includes Cassa Depositi e Prestiti controlled by the Minister of Economy and Finance, is headed by chairman Andrea Morante. Morante has a longstanding experience as an investment banker and in fashion, and he is chairman of Sergio Rossi as well as a former chief executive officer of Pomellato.
Trussardi and Quattro R had no comment on the rumors.
The Trussardi Group reported sales of 154 million euros in 2017 and, in March, a group of six banks subscribed a financing operation for a total value of 51.5 million euros. On top of this, the Trussardi family stipulated a capital increase of 5 million euros.
The company has been focusing on the signature line and the Trussardi Jeans collection, simplifying the product offer and increasingly focusing on accessories, which in 2018
MILAN – Italian men’s wear company Canali SpA denied on Saturday it was negotiating to sell shares in the company.
The fashion house responded to a rumor reported on Saturday by Italy’s daily paper La Repubblica. According to the article, the third-generation of the family-run business has charged Goldman Sachs with the task of testing the interest of potential investors.
In its report, La Repubblica also stated the French private equity firm Chequers Capital and Andrea C. Bonomi‘s Investindustrial investment house were eyeing the Italian company.
Recently, Bonomi has said he is targeting fashion brands and design companies to add to his firm’s portfolio, which includes the full control of the Sergio Rossi firm – acquired from Kering in 2015 – in addition to stakes in Aston Martin, Perfume Holding, B&B Italia and luxury lighting firm Flos, among others.
In October, Canali began the dismissal procedure of 134 of its employees, all working in the brand’s factory in Carate Brianza, a one-hour drive from Milan. Dedicated to the manufacturing of jackets, the plant is one of the company’s seven production centers.
At the time Canali confirmed the staff reduction was due to the market’s contraction, while trade unions and employees reacted to the decision by protesting with
The Batman has returned. To San Diego Comic-Con that is.
Ben Affleck, the film franchise’s current Caped Crusader, surprised 6,000 enthusiastic fans at San Diego Comic-Con Saturday with his fellow Justice League cast members, who made a dramatic entrance by walking through the crowd during Warner Bros’ star-studded panel in the convention center’s storied Hall H.
The Batman v Superman star, dressed casually in a t-shirt, jeans and a blue bomber jacket, was joined by Justice League costars: Wonder Woman Gal Gadot, Superman Henry Cavill, The Flash Ezra Miller, Aquaman Jason Momoa and Cyborg Ray Fisher.
Throughout the event, Affleck looked happy and relaxed — laughing off rumors that he was being “phased out” as the Caped Crusader and even dropping a few f-bombs.
“Batman is the coolest f—ing part in any universe, DC, Marvel,” Affleck said when he came onstage. “I’m so thrilled to do it.”
He went on to name the Warner Bros. executives who told him that they wanted him to stay on as Batman, adding, “I believe them.” He later added that he thought the rumors got started because he is no longer directing the upcoming Batman solo movie.
The group also introduced a new sneak peek of Justice League.
Ahead of the panel, Gadot shared a smiling selfie with Affleck, Miller and Fisher, in front of what appeared to be a private plane.
“Ready or not here we come,” she wrote.
This first Justice League film sees DC’s most iconic superheroes joining forces to save the world from an enigmatic threat. Affleck and Cavill return as Batman and the Man of Steel, Gadot makes her third appearance as Wonder Woman, while Miller’s The Flash and Momoa’s Aquaman are fully introduced as part of the League ahead of their solo films arriving in 2018. Joss Whedon took over directing duties from Zack Snyder following a family tragedy — his 20-year-old daughter Autumn’s suicide.

In our dreams, Adam Lambert and Sam Smith would make an adorable couple, but alas, there’s no romance heating up between the two pop stars for now.
On Thursday’s installment of “Watch What Happens Live,” Lambert told host Andy Cohen that although he and Smith have done “a lot of bonding” over the past year, there was no truth in any of the media speculation that the two are more than just friends.
“I love that rumor, actually. The minute I heard it, I texted him,” Lambert, 35, said, responding to a fan’s inquiry. After shrugging off the romantic suggestion, he praised Smith, noting, “He’s such a nice guy. He’s so funny.”
The two stars have, in fact, spent quality time together in the past. In March 2016, the guys were spotted together at the New York nightclub No. 8. DJ Dawson posted a photograph of himself posing with Lambert and Smith on Instagram.
Lambert elaborated further about his friendship with the “Stay With Me” singer in the “Watch What Happens Live” interview Thursday. “We did ride a rickshaw in London from one club to another, wasted, at like 3 in the morning,” he said. “And I ran into him in Mykonos this summer.”
Fortunately for us, Lambert documented both of those encounters with Smith for posterity on Instagram.
Though Smith, 24, has spent much of the past year out of the limelight, Lambert is gearing up to the road once more. In June, he’ll kick off a North American tour with Queen, playing 25 cities across the country.
Sizzle or not, Lambert and Smith no doubt have a lot to talk about as two of the pop world’s most out-and-proud performers. And there’s no reason the two can’t make some sweet music in the studio. C’mon, boys ― gift us with some ear candy!

If you follow Khloe Kardashian on Instagram, you know she spends a lot of time in the gym. The 30-year-old is seriously proud of all the hard work that has gone into her body transformation, which is why you can’t blame the woman for being sick and tired of rumors saying she cut corners to get her fab figure.
On Tuesday, Kardashian took to Twitter to blast haters spreading rumors that she’d gotten liposuction.
I find it disgusting but maybe a compliment that I’m being accused of getting Lipo done. I work out 5 days a week. I bust my ass!

Ben Mendelsohn is having quite the moment, and if those “Star Wars” rumors end up being true, he’s bound to become a household name in Hollywood.
The Australian actor has been well-known back home since he was a teenager, but you’ve likely seen him more and more recently in American films and TV shows. He was killed by Bane in “The Dark Knight Rises,” played Jessa’s father in HBO’s “Girls,” and appeared alongside Brad Pitt in “Killing Them Softly.”
This year alone, Mendelsohn’s credits include Netflix’s “Bloodline,” Ryan Gosling’s directorial debut “Lost River,” gambler film “Mississippi Grind ” and indie Western “Slow West.” Let’s also not forget that he might star alongside Felicity Jones in “Star Wars: Rogue One.”
In John Maclean’s feature film debut, “Slow West,” Michael Fassbender (who previously worked with Maclean on two short films), plays Silas, a mysterious traveler headed west in 16th-century Colorado. Silas helps 16-year-old Scottish boy Jay Cavendish (Kodi Smit-McPhee) on his journey to find the girl he loves until they run into Mendelsohn’s Payne, a villainous leader of a gang of bounty hunters.
The Huffington Post sat down with Mendelsohn at the Tribeca Film Festival last month to discuss the wardrobe he took home from “Slow West,” who he’d like to play in the “Star Wars” universe, and his bizarre dance in “Lost River.”
I loved “Slow West.” It’s so beautifully made.
Yeah, [Maclean] did really well, didn’t he? It’s beautifully shot. He’s got something, that guy. And Fassbender found him, or they found each other. So I just got asked on board when it was all in its shape and I have a little turn in it.
You don’t show up in too many scenes, but when Payne is on screen he definitely makes an impression.
This, I like this. And that coat [points to the film poster].
Payne’s coat is amazing! Did you get to keep it?
I have that coat. I have it sitting on a mannequin at home. I don’t have memorabilia, but try to take a bit of wardrobe, usually because they dress me better than I dress myself. But that coat, that’s a thing of beauty. I’m very proud of it.
Are you going to wear it around?
Yeah, I suppose I might bust it out in moments of great bravery or just deep cold. I did wear it for the premiere in Sundance.
What was it like working with Fassbender?
Michael had a lot of stuff to do. It was all drunk hoo-ha and boy, he did some incredibly dangerous things around a fire, which aren’t in the [final] cut. There was some falling, some drunken shenanigans near fires and rocks, sh*t that I was going, “Oh, f**k.” But there’s a fearlessness to the way he works that is pretty admirable. And Kodi [Smit-McPhee], there’s such a delicateness to him. When he starts acting, he feels like gossamer. It was a good couple of days.
You’ve been so well-known in Australia, but now you’re finally having a breakthrough in the U.S. What’s that feel like?
It’s cool. It’s been a great several years. I came here for a very, very long time and just couldn’t get any sort of traction going. There were a couple of people who liked me, but it didn’t translate into anything that was employment based. I like to think that what really helped it was the one-two punch of “Animal Kingdom” and either “Place Beyond the Pines” or “Killing Them Softly.” Those combined really seemed to set some wind in the sails. It’s been a dreamy couple of years.
I bet. And now there’s those “Star Wars” rumors …
Yeah, there are those rumors.
So, are they just rumors?
They — I can definitively and honestly say to you that I have no job yet that I know of to go to. That may change. I would be very happy if that came to pass, but at this stage it’s just chatter.
Ideally, if you were in it, what character would you want to play?
It would depend. I think that the Empire has such room. We only know of a few people on the Empire side of the fence. “Star Wars” is populated by so many great types, who wouldn’t want to be a Han Solo kind of dude? And then you’ve got the whole Luke strain. I don’t think that they’re likely to — I’d be thrilled, actually, if they were looking at me for a Skywalkery-type of a number. But yeah, there’s a lot.
You also worked with Gosling again in “Lost River,” where you have singing and dancing scenes. Had you ever done something like that before?
No, I’ve never sung before. That’s me doing my Frankie Laine impersonation. There’s a little film I did where I sing a bit, but nothing like that. And the dance was something we just figured out very last minute just before we were going to shoot the scene. We knew we had it coming up and I went down there and we put on a A$ AP Rocky track and just danced off.
That’s even more bizarre because that’s totally different from the song playing in the scene.
That’s right, it’s not [the same]. But if you ever want to hear what it was that I was dancing to, it is “F**king Problems.”
Did you know the song before that?
Yeah, I was familiar with the opus. I’m a reasonably — I have my phases — but I really like music.
“Slow West” is now playing in select theaters.
