Grace Coddington, Michael Roberts Host Book Signing at London’s Smythson Store

BOOK SIGNING: “There’s a slight familiarity with Gingernutz — she’s me,” said Grace Coddington at the London book signing of “GingerNutz: The Jungle Memoir of a Model Orangutan” on Thursday evening.
Held at the Smythson store on New Bond Street, British designers including Erdem Moralioğlu, E. Tautz owner and creative director Patrick Grant and Stephen Jones were among the guests who turned up to show support.
Coddington recalled the first time she encountered the main character — illustrated by longtime friend Michael Roberts — and thought she was so cute. Roberts had drawn a series of illustrations from the point of view of a baby orangutan and depicted the little ape’s journey navigating the fashion world. Alongside her book, Coddington will also be contributing to the December issue of British Vogue.
“I have already contributed,” Coddington said. “And I can’t wait for it to come out. I’ve only done one and it’s at the early stages. Edward [Enninful] loved it and that’s the main thing. I loved it. I’m very happy with it. It’s a surprise.”
While Coddington, couldn’t divulge too many details, she noted that working with British Vogue’s new editor in chief was a great experience. “We’re friends so we go back

Someone Trolled A GOP Senator By Signing Him Up To Nickelback Emails

Sen. Ben Sasse (R-Neb.) is not diggin’ this at all.

On Friday, he tweeted that someone had signed several of his email accounts up to Nickelback promotional newsletters. “It’s. Not. Funny,” he wrote:

While signing people up to spam email is never to be condoned, Sasse does have major form in trolling the Canadian rock band himself.

Over the past 16 months, he’s repeatedly used Twitter to poke fun at the group:

It’s also not the first time someone has added Sasse to the band’s mailing list:

Sasse said the office of Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) was behind the latest prank:

Hatch’s office hasn’t confirmed its role in the joke, but did use the opportunity to indulge in some more trolling:

Sasse saw the funny side, as did many of his Twitter followers:

Some Twitter users, however, used the exchange to quiz both Sasse and Hatch over the GOP’s health care reform:

Donatella Versace Hosts Book Signing at Harrods in London

DOTING ON DONATELLA: A crowd of Versace-clad fans headed to Harrods Monday afternoon to meet Donatella Versace at the signing of her book “Versace.”
The designer didn’t keep her admirers waiting, arriving promptly at 1 p.m. to greet 100 men and women, with some decked in the brand’s boisterous apparel. Some shoppers started gathering as early as 11 a.m., as only the first 50 customers who visited the boutique would have a chance to meet briefly with Versace and to have their book signed and picture taken.
Dressed in head-to-toe black , she sat behind a desk inside the Versace boutique in the International Designer room of the Knightsbridge retailer.
“I have always created stories through images, in both collections and advertising campaigns, and I’ve always been in charge of the image-making for Versace,” she said. “The book highlights this aspect of my creative process.”
Versace said working on the book took about two years and added it was difficult to choose from the various images shot by numerous photographers she has worked with. She also insisted that the book feature lots of pictures of Audrey — her beloved Jack Russell.
“I love the first chapter,” said Versace, about her favorite part of the book.
