Jordan Brand Signs Zion Williamson

Zion Williamson, the first overall pick of the 2019 NBA Draft by the New Orleans Pelicans, has signed with Jordan Brand. On Tuesday, Nike revealed the signing, which adds the former Duke University star to the brand’s roster of athletes that includes NBA stars Russell Westbrook, Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul, and recent NBA and WNBA signees Jayson Tatum, Rui Hachimura, Asia Durr and Kia Nurse. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“I feel incredibly blessed to be a part of the Jordan Brand family,” Williamson said in a statement. “Since I was a kid, I dreamed of making it to the league and having the type of impact on the game Michael Jordan had and continues to have today. He was one of those special athletes I looked up to, and I really can’t express how happy and excited I am for this journey.”
Williamson was born in North Carolina in 2000, one year before Michael Jordan made his return to the NBA with the Washington Wizards. Many sports analysts expect a great professional career from the young prospect given his short-lived college career that drew loads of attention and endless Instagram and YouTube postings of his acrobatic play. ITALIAN PARTNER: Custo Barcelona, the Spanish fashion brand established in 1996 by Custo Dalmau, has signed a multiyear licensing agreement with Italian manufacturing company Velmar for the production and worldwide distribution of the brand’s collections.
While Barcelona-based Dalmau will remain creative director of the label, the fashion house’s headquarters will be moved to Rimini, where Velmar is located. Founded in 1983, Velmar in 2001 passed under the control of the Aeffe Group, the parent company of Alberta Ferretti and Moschino.
“The creativity of the Dalmau brothers has anticipated lots of trends, always keeping his authentic and original feature during these years,” said Velmar general manager Luca Gori. “The union of these characteristics with Velmar’s ability to interpret and translate the strong identity of the fashion house, along with productive and distributive experience, creates a good basis for a project of global development.”
The first fruits of the collaboration between the two companies will be unveiled at New York Fashion Week in September, where Custo Barcelona will debut a capsule collection for spring 2020.
According to Dalmau, the licensing agreement will help boost the brand’s business globally, with a focus on the United States, Europe and China. The expansion strategy includes the reinforcement of Custo

Dolly Parton Signs Global Licensing Deal With IMG to Develop Fashion, Accessories and Home

HELLO DOLLY: Considering the vastness of Dolly Parton’s business ventures, the fact that IMG is now her first exclusive global licensing representative is an eye-opener.
The eight-time Grammy winner, who has been a client in North America of IMG’s partner company WME since last year, plans to delve into fashion, jewelry, accessories and home goods through the new deal. The multiyear pact is set up to help the country music star develop a lifestyle brand. But the truth is, she already is that and more. Gucci’s Alessandro Michele designed a sleeveless jean jacket emblazoned with her name and image on the back for the luxury label’s spring 2019 collection.
Aside from knowing how to make a statement on stage — wigs, sequins, bright colors and body-accentuating silhouettes — Parton also grasps what it takes to execute those ensembles. She and her creative director and wardrobe designer Steve Summers have reportedly been known to create about 300 outfits each year — down to every shoe and accessories.
Beyond her 1.8 million Instagram followers, Parton presents to IMG a built-in fan base. Five years ago, she passed the 100-million mark for records sold, and Parton continues to churn out country music, books and all kinds

Candice Swanepoel Signs With Creative Artists Agency

NEW KID ON THE BLOCK: Candice Swanepoel has new representation.
The Victoria’s Secret model and founder of swimwear brand Tropic of C has signed on with Creative Artists Agency for representation in all areas.
Swanepoel will continue to be managed by Marlon Stoltzman. She’s been on Forbes’ “Highest-Paid Models” list every year since 2010, and although she’s best known for her work as an Angel, Swanepoel has appeared in campaigns and on runways for Chanel, Fendi, Tom Ford, Givenchy and many more.
Last year was a big one for the South African model. She became a mother of two, after giving birth to her second child in June; launched Tropic of C, and put her Village Green penthouse condominium up for sale in April — with a price tag of $ 1.89 million.
When speaking to WWD about her swimwear company in 2018, she explained that the throwback feel of Tropic of C makes her suits stand out.
“We bring a modern approach to vintage classics and a mix of European elegance with Brazilian ease,” Swanepoel said. “We focus on distinct fits — it features a high-cut leg, some corset-type tops and references to the Eighties and Nineties.”

STREET SIGNS: Renowned Retools, Reemerges Ready for Future

All it takes is one item to help propel a brand forward. John Dean knows that feeling well.
The founder and chief executive officer of Los Angeles-based streetwear brand Renowned started his company when he was still in Ohio in high school, selling a $ 10 shirt with a somewhat crudely drawn “Renowned” on it. It wasn’t until a T-shirt he sent to Chris Brown’s stylist ended up being worn by Brown on the cover of Nylon in 2013 that the brand gained notoriety.
“I didn’t know how the game worked where brands send boxes and boxes of clothes to celebrities,” Dean said. “I sent one T-shirt. I didn’t know any better, but he wore it on the cover of Nylon. It really caused a spark. We went from not knowing what wholesale was to being in 20 stores.”
He ultimately decided to stop studying business marketing his junior year of college, opting instead to drive four days to Los Angeles to focus on building his business. Brown continued to wear Renowned and, in 2015, the two teamed for the rapper’s “Between the Sheets” tour, for which Dean designed all the merchandise, in addition to Brown’s onstage pieces.
Reality settled in and, while buyers were

Street Signs: Peaches Looks to New Capital to Support Growth

LOS ANGELES — A car buff and restaurateur have entered the streetwear fray with an interesting proposition, creating an urban label inspired by car culture.
Peaches, which has one foot in South Korea and another in Los Angeles, last year raised about $ 550,000 through angel investors and is in the midst of raising its Series A, expected to close this month and land somewhere in the range of $ 1.5 million to $ 3 million. The capital infusion will be used to open a store on Fairfax Avenue as early as the end of this year at the site of a former gas station, which will be incorporated into the overall design of the space. There will also be a car warehouse in Orange County opening this year that would serve as a hangout of sorts for the core car consumer to come in and check out the cars being built.
The company is currently direct-to-consumer online, but will eventually expand into wholesale with higher-end boutiques.
Pop-ups to test into the South Korean and U.K. markets are also slated for this year.
The slated retail and warehouse openings speak to the duality of the Peaches brand.

STREET SIGNS: How WeSC Transitioned From Mall Brand to Contemporary Streetwear Line

When Joseph Janus joined WeSC seven years ago as chief executive officer of the American business, the Swedish streetwear brand, which is named We Are Superlative Conspiracy, was being produced and distributed by its U.S. licensee Oved Apparel Group. Like most streetwear and skate lines at the time, the brand was focused on mass distribution in retailers such as Tillys, Zumiez and PacSun.
But Janus, who has previously worked for brands including Calvin Klein, Guess and JNCO, sensed a shift coming in the market and knew he would have to slowly make WeSC more premium.
“I wanted to bridge the gap between traditional streetwear and luxury,” said Janus. “How do we get into better department stores and grow up with our consumer who is starting to mix luxury items into their wardrobe?”
In 2013 the brand bought back its U.S. license and created an independent American subsidiary and Janus was charged with growing business in the U.S. Over the course of the last few years, he’s made small shifts to get the company, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, where it is today.
Step one was slowly increasing the price points and changing the distribution from mall stores to better department stores. Janus

Bonobos Signs PGA Golfer Justin Rose to Apparel Deal

Justin Rose, the number-two ranked PGA Tour player, is making a number of major changes before his 2019 season kicks off later this month.
On Thursday, he left his former apparel sponsor Adidas and jumped ship to Bonobos. Two days ago, he inked a 10-year equipment deal with Honma Golf, a Japanese equipment manufacturer seeking to gain a foothold outside its home country. He had previously been with Taylormade.
Bonobos’ signing of Rose is for a similar reason. The men’s e-commerce brand, which is now owned by Walmart, is also hoping to further make its mark in the golf world by aligning itself with a high-profile professional.
While financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, the marketing component of the agreement calls for Rose to wear Bonobos both on and off the course.

“When we decided to draw attention to our golf line, we wanted to work with someone who not only was a great representation on the course but in everyday life as well,” said Micky Onvural, chief executive officer of Bonobos. “Justin’s presence and power in the game of golf was a huge draw for us as a brand. B.U.M. Equipment Signs Men’s Sleepwear License

B.U.M. Equipment is expanding its reach.
The brand has signed a licensing deal with Vandale Industries for men’s loungewear and sleepwear starting with the fall 2019 season.
This brings the number of licenses for the young men’s and juniors brand to 12.
Stephen Wayne, chairman of B.U.M. Equipment LLC, who has owned the trademark since 1997, said: “The signing of Vandales will be a great addition to our product assortment offered in the U.S. market. It gives us another 10 to 15 additional sku’s [stockkeeping units] in the men’s area, which we relaunched last back-to-school with Urban Outfitters.”
Wayne, who acquired the trademark out of bankruptcy court 21 years ago, relaunched in 2017 on B.U.M.’s 30th anniversary. In its heyday in the early- to mid-2000s, it had some 35 licenses and sales of around $ 3 billion

Founded in 1986 as a street fashion brand, B.U.M. rode the popularity of that trend until 1996 when its then-owner, Chauvin International Ltd., saw a sales decline, which contributed to financial difficulties for the brand and a bankruptcy filing in 1996.
Wayne said he continues to seek additional licenses for the U.S. and overseas.
Vandale was established in 1982 as a women’s intimate apparel company and holds the license for Vince Camuto in men’s and Jessica Simpson, Izod and Lucky Brand in women’s.

Under Armour Signs Embiid to Endorsement Deal

For Joel Embiid, his newly inked deal with Under Armour is going to be “bigger than just shoes.”
Turning aside other reported suitors including Puma and New Balance, the center for the Philadelphia 76ers instead opted for a five-year apparel and footwear endorsement deal with Under Armour. He had previously been sponsored by Adidas.
At Under Armour, Embiid joins Golden State Warriors’ Stephen Curry, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, skier Lindsey Vonn, ballerina Misty Copeland and others. The terms of the deal were not disclosed but ESPN reported that the endorsement will make him the highest paid center in the NBA.
In a first-person account on Under Armour’s web site posted on Wednesday, Embiid wrote: “When I sat down with Under Armour, one of the first things we talked about was how this can be bigger than just shoes, bigger than just basketball. I want to help change people’s lives.

STREET SIGNS: A Ma Maniére Living Merges Streetwear Retail With Hotel Suites

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A Ma Maniére is officially open, but it’s not open. Because of the hordes that lined H Street in Northeast D.C. on Friday, store owner James Whitner told the crowd that he’d postponed the opening, even as a few still meandered about hoping he would change his mind.
“We will never release a sneaker from this location again,” said Whitner, who on that day was releasing the Nike Off-White Prestos, the Adidas Yung-1s and several Jordans. “I’m going to try to tie releases to community outreach initiatives and if you participate, you can buy. I can’t change anything if I don’t change anything.”
For brands such as J.W. Anderson, Greg Lauren, Comme des Garçons Play and Visvim, Whitner’s A Ma Maniére concept is a chance for the brands to introduce themselves to a covetable customer. In most cases, Whitner opens shops in secondary markets such as Charlotte and Raleigh, N.C.; Pittsburgh; Houston, and Tampa Bay, Fla., and is the first person to bring these brands to a particular region. Street Signs: Moscow’s Coolest Skaters Have a New Place to Shop

MOSCOW — Signaling the vibrancy of the local skateboard scene — and a rebounding Russian retail market — upstart brand Paccbet has opened its first freestanding store here.
The 1,600-square-foot unit is called Oktyabr: the name echos the Oktyabrskaya subway station where Moscow skaters congregate to improve their skills – and check out each others’ gear – under a monumental statue of Lenin.

Paccbet founder Tolia Titaev, 24, hopes Oktyabr – which he bills as the first multi-brand skateboarding store in Moscow – will become another key meeting point for the local scene. In addition to Paccbet, the Russian word for sunrise, the unit carries such brands as F—ing Awesome, Dime, Awake, Stussy and Carharrt. Oktyabr also carries Russian Absurd, which Titaev cooked up with local skating hero Gosha Konushev, who will lead a group of boarders sponsored by Oktyabr.
“I always wanted to do something for Russian skateboarding. I wanted to tell the world that the Russian scene is strong and our youth is buzzing and is willing to do things,” said Titaev, who established Paccbet in 2016 under the tutelage of his friend Gosha Rubchinskiy, the new ringleader of the Russian fashion scene and

Bonobos Signs First Designer Collab With Thaddeus O’Neil

Bonobos has launched its first designer collaboration.
The digital brand, which was acquired by Walmart last year for $ 310 million, has tapped Thaddeus O’Neil for an upscale, casually skewed assortment of men’s wear that made its debut on its web site and in two of its Guideshop stores on Thursday.
The Bonobos x Thaddeus O’Neil collaboration was inspired by the work of American architect Buckminster Fuller and offers T-shirts, cabana shirts, swimwear, casual pants and shorts, sweaters, outerwear, swimwear, knitwear and accessories. Prices range from $ 78 to $ 348.
Katie Boiano, vice president of design for Bonobos, said about a year ago, the company decided it wanted to partner with a designer “and Thaddeus was a natural fit based on his personal style and aesthetic.” Bonobos was especially drawn to the “vibrant colors and easygoing styles” that are hallmarks of O’Neil’s collection.
Thaddeus O’Neil grew up surfing on Long Island and was a member of the CFDA Incubator program. He designs a unisex line that he describes as “playwear” — looks that are bohemian, beachy and inspired by surf culture. The Bonobos assortment pays homage to the ocean, the earth and wildlife.

The collection launched at Bonobos on Thursday.

STREET SIGNS: McDonald’s Dabbles in Streetwear

Joseph Robinson is embarking on one of his biggest collaborations to date.
The founder of Joe Freshgoods and Don’t Be Mad, independent streetwear brands based in Chicago, received an e-mail from McDonald’s requesting that he design merchandise for the fast food behemoth.
“I was hesitant at first, because I’m such an independent brand and when you start partnering with companies like McDonald’s sometimes it’s like you have sold out,” said Robinson. “But at the end of the day I thought it would be inspiring to other kids who want to start brands and show them that they can do it, too.”

Street Signs: Will Streetwear Customers Buy a Tie?

Things are changing quickly within men’s wear. When WWD visited Guillermo Andrade a few months ago at 424 on Fairfax, the Los Angeles store he founded in 2010, Dior Homme was setting up a pop-up and Kris Van Assche was the creative lead. Now Van Assche is at Berluti, Kim Jones is at Dior Homme and Virgil Abloh is the creative director at Louis Vuitton men’s, signaling an arrival of sorts for the streetwear category.
Things have also changed with Andrade, who has his own label, named 424, that is carried at retailers including Barneys New York and Selfridges. Andrade has developed a design identity with his 424 armbands, hoodies and T-shirts with subtle social messages, and for spring is inching into new territory with a few tailored pieces.
Tailored clothing isn’t completely foreign to streetwear. Supreme created a seersucker suit with Brooks Brothers in 2014 and Off-White’s fall 2018 men’s wear collection was based on workplace uniforms. Andrade’s expansion could indicate how streetwear might evolve as it aims to stake out more floor space in department stores and grow up with its customers.
WWD spoke to Andrade about growing his L.A.-made streetwear brand, the viability of the category and the possibility of him taking

After almost three decades in business, Luca Benini, the founder of Slam Jam, which is based in Ferrara, Italy, decided it was time to enter the North American market.
“The key objective for Slam Jam is to go international with our distribution by 2020,” said Benini. “Approaching America is a crucial pillar of the strategy, with the very valuable support of market specialist Point.”
Benini partnered with Point Intl., which includes Jason Sherman, Jason Benta and Jordan Thomas, who have held stints within sales at brands including Diadora Heritage, Under Armour and Billionaire Boys Club. Late last year, Slam Jam teamed with Carhartt WIP to open Spazio Maiocchi, an art space in Milan that hosts exhibitions and fashion events and Benini has helped revive and reposition heritage brands such as Kappa.

Mom of Carolina Panthers Employee Who Killed 2 Kids Says She ‘Has Never Shown Any Signs of Being Depressed’

The mother of a North Carolina woman and Carolina Panthers employee who killed her two kids and committed suicide by jumping from an interstate highway bridge on Saturday says she saw no red flags to suggest her daughter would be capable of such a crime.

“Our daughter has never shown any signs of being depressed,” said Patricia Treadway, the mother of Christina Treadway, 34, and grandmother to Christina’s two children, 7-year-old son Isaiah Miller and 3-year-old daughter Iliyah Miller, in brief comments to Charlotte TV station FOX 46 WJZY.

“I want people to know she is a loving mother and would not have done this if she wasn’t so trapped and so alone,” Patricia Treadway said.

In a post on a GoFundMe page created by Christina’s parents, Allen Treadway wrote: “I am her father and we are struggling to understand how something like this could have happened, they were all beautiful souls.”

Writing on his own GoFundMe page, where he supported the Treadways fundraising efforts on behalf of their daughter and grandchildren, the children’s father, Antoine Moore, said: “Just know these kids were treated very well and loved emensley by their mother and father.”

“Christina was a loving mother who loved those children dearly,” he added. “Please allow them to Rest In Peace and allow us time to mourn this horrible event without the negativity. No one will ever know what myself and both families involved are going through. Please keep us all in your prayers.”

Antoine’s father, Greg Moore, said his son and Christina had been in a relationship for about 10 years, and that his son was out with friends when he received a text from Christina saying “she was going to end it all.”

“My children’s mother decided to end her life,” Antoine Moore wrote on his GoFundMe page. “And end my two beautiful kids lives. I am beyond hurt and sad.”

He added: “You never know what a person is going through mentally. My kids were my everything I truly don’t know how my life will go on.”

Christina Treadway put her children’s singing and dancing talents on display in a series of YouTube videos that also featured Christina herself, going by the name Tina Lateena. She worked as a seasonal ticket-taker employed by the Carolina Panthers football team at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte.

Authorities say that after Christina jumped from the bridge of Interstate 485, where she died at the scene, they learned information that directed them to her residence. Police forced their way inside to find the children alone and fatally injured. They later died at Carolina Medical Center.

• For more compelling true crime coverage, follow our Crime magazine on Flipboard.

Police have not shared a motive or revealed the type of the injuries suffered by the children.

Antoine Moore’s mother and the children’s paternal grandmother, Tina Moore, said that Christina “was a great mom. She was really, really a great girl.”

She added: “I love Tina to death, but she was just troubled. I don’t know what happened because she came and stayed at my house for the summer. I don’t know what happen, she just lost it.”

The maternal grandmother, Patricia Treadway, said of her daughter and grandchildren: “They were loved so very much in life and so very much in death.”

Street Signs: Inside the Restless Mind of Kith’s Ronnie Fieg

NEW YORK — It’s easy to imagine loving shoes, but imagine loving shoes so much that, at 13, you’d rather spend time with them in a stockroom than hang out with friends. Now imagine, 10 or so years later, partnering with Nike, Asics, Adidas and others to rework the designs you used to study in that stockroom. And then imagine finally selling those shoes and wearing those shoes, but, to your surprise, they don’t quite fit. This is how Ronnie Fieg, creative director and chief executive officer of Kith, feels at the moment.
“Where I am right now is like walking around in a pair of shoes and they look fly and you love them, but they are too small. Well, actually, they are too big now. It’s not too big. I don’t want to say that, but the business is a lot bigger than I imagined,” Fieg said in an interview at Kith’s brand new SoHo office in Manhattan, which is a stone’s throw away from its recently opened store on Lafayette Street and a couple of floors above Kering’s New York headquarters. “I’m always uncomfortable because I’ve never been here before. There is no formula. There is no guideline.

Street Signs: Commonwealth Rises in the Arts District

It’s style, not fashion, Commonwealth seeks to serve under its roof as the streetwear specialty retailer marks a move to the Los Angeles Arts District.
The business, started by Omar Quiambao and Larry Incognito in 2004 as a concept shop with the tag line “For the Greater Good,” brings its street- and skate-inspired boutique to yet another growing pocket of the Arts District where Silverlake Wine, Guerrilla Tacos, Base Coat Nail Salon, CES Gallery and the Museum of Ice Cream all reside. Just footsteps away, Dover Street Market is expected in the spring.
The area reminds Quiambao of New York, where he last resided, and is close to where he now lives in downtown. Opening the 1,500-square-foot shop represents the first time he’s living in the same city as a Commonwealth store.
Quiambao, a graduate of Pratt Institute, has spent the better part of nearly two decades now being a purveyor of what those standing from the outside might call youth culture melded with skate and streetwear. Commonwealth’s brand of that lifestyle mixes high fashion with the street for a store that includes brands such as Pleasures, Wacko Maria, Brain Dead, Padmore & Barnes, Stone Island, APC and Comme des Garçons Play, among

Street Signs: Roc-a-Fella Cofounder on Building Streetwear Brands

On Nov. 30, Nike will celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Air Force One by releasing five different styles designed by Errolson Hugh of Acronym, Virgil Abloh of Off-White, rapper Travis Scott, Don Crawley of Just Don, and Roc-a-Fella Records cofounder Kareem “Biggs” Burke.
Burke is the unofficial godfather of the group, and in many ways planted the seed from which the rest of the collaborators sprouted. It starts with Roc-a-Fella, which he founded with Jay-Z and Damon Dash in 1994, then moves on to Kanye West, who signed to Roc-a-Fella in the early Aughts. Both Abloh and Crawley, better known as Don C, are directly connected to West — Abloh was his creative director at one point and Crawley served as the road manager and DJ from time to time. And Scott is signed to Good Music, which is West’s record label.
“This is the offspring of what we’ve built,” said Burke. “To see Virgil and Don C’s success, I love that. People talk about legacy and how I want to be remembered and I just want that family tree to keep growing.”

STREET SIGNS: The Making of a Celebrity Sneaker Deal

Reebok spent a year courting Future.
The relationship began in 2015 when the company started seeding the artist, whose real name is Nayvadius Wilburn, with shoes to wear. Then the team began attending his shows, inviting him to Reebok’s headquarters in Massachusetts and detailing how both parties could help each other.
“They made an effort to connect with him,” said Ebonie Ward, Future’s brand manager. “It wasn’t about sending e-mails. They told him they didn’t want to take advantage of him as an artist and use his fan base. They wanted to build a partnership with him. That’s what sealed the deal with Future. It wasn’t about him throwing on a pair of shoes and thinking people are going to just buy them.”
Athletic companies tapping celebrities, specifically hip-hop artists, isn’t a new concept. In fact, 14 years ago, Reebok offered Jay-Z a deal — the first of its kind — that led to the commercially successful S. Carter sneakers, which, when released, were one of the brand’s best-selling products. But the structure of today’s deals, and the climate around them, has evolved and Future’s relationship with Reebok reflects how the market has shifted.
Future signed with Reebok in 2016 and has played a

Street Signs: ‘Friendly’ Sneakersnstuff Rolls Out Welcome Mat in New York

Erik Fagerlind, who cofounded the specialty sneaker chain Sneakersnstuff with Peter Jansson in 1999, says 80 percent of its business now comes from e-commerce sales — up from 50 percent five years ago. But physical retail remains a significant part of its growth strategy outside of home country of Sweden, having planted shops in London, Paris, Berlin and now New York.
“In a world where everything is available and accessible, you have to provide a little bit more than product,” Fagerlind said. “You have to provide the service to be relevant with your consumer.”
Sneakersnstuff will bring its popular concept to New York in early December. The 3,500-square-foot shop will be located in the Meatpacking District, designed by Jenny Askenfors of Bofink Design Studio and feature a basement bar. Wil Whitney, who has deep roots in the New York skate and streetwear scene — he was a former manager at Stüssy, helped start Nom de Guerre, a men’s wear brand and Brooklyn shop that closed in 2010, and most recently worked for Noah — will manage the boutique. There are plans to open a Los Angeles flagship in 2018.
In Fagerlind’s view, the Meatpacking District was the ideal spot because it’s not saturated with

Blue Ivy and Beyoncé Flash Peace Signs in Adorable Mother-Daughter Photo Session

Beyoncé and Blue Ivy are giving peace a chance!

The Lemonade singer recently shared a series of adorable photos with her daughter on her website, which she captioned “Todd’s Wedding.” The photos appear to be from the nuptials of Todd Tourso — Bey’s creative director — which happened back in August.

In one, Beyoncé, 36, stood above her daughter making a peace sign over Blue’s smiling face. In the second, the two were huddled up next to each other smiling and flashing matching peace signs.

The cute photos were released just a week after Beyoncé’s mother Tina Lawson shared an adorable throwback picture of her daughter, writing that Beyoncé looked just like 5-year-old Blue Ivy in the snap.

“If Beyoncé don’t look like Blue on this photo!!! Getting her braids done by Toni,” Lawson, 63, captioned the picture.

Of course, that wasn’t the first time Blue Ivy and her mom shared a twinning moment.

In May, the mother-daughter duo wore matching tiered hydrangea-print chiffon dresses by Dolce & Gabbana. The pair’s $ 5,395 designer ensembles featured cap sleeves with draped detailing, smocked frill-trim empire waists, tiered maxi skirts, and floor-sweeping hems.

Earlier this summer, Beyoncé welcomed twins Sir and Rumi with husband JAY-Z. In July, Lawson told Entertainment Tonight that Blue Ivy was already embracing her new role as big sister. “She’s a good sister, she really is,” Lawson said. “She cares for them a lot.”

Since the arrival of their twins in June, the Carter family has been making their newest members feel at home in California. After two years of house hunting, the couple finally found a pad in Los Angeles in August. The couple paid $ 88 million for their Bel Air mansion, a source confirmed to PEOPLE.

Street Signs: Louis Vuitton x Supreme Stirs Global Frenzy, but a Well-Managed One

Megacrowds — many destined to be disappointed — greeted the long-awaited arrival of the Louis Vuitton x Supreme collaboration in pop-up shops around the world on Friday.
Just as Michael Burke, chairman and chief executive officer of Louis Vuitton, previously told WWD, the brand revealed the location of the pop-ups on Instagram only one day, or sometimes hours, before the release.
“There will be no marketing and no press release. We won’t be pandering to the customer. It’s all about peer-to-peer communication. We provide a very minimum amount of information and let the people judge us from there,” Burke said.
As reported, the collection, unveiled at Paris Men’s Fashion Week in January, is being sold exclusively through eight pop-ups in Paris, London, Miami, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Beijing, Seoul and Sydney. With the exception of the Miami pop-up, located in an exhibition space on the third floor of Vuitton’s Design District store, the stores have no prior connection with either brand. The Sydney pop-up is located at 95 Roscoe Street in Bondi Beach, while the Tokyo space opened in the Minami-Aoyama district, where more than 7,000 people lined up outside starting from the late hours of Thursday night.

7 Signs Your Relationship Is Healthy

I have often heard it said that the best partner will compliment you and bring out your finer qualities. When you are with him or her, you will begin to see untapped possibilities within yourself and in the world. However, in any relationship, you will face difficulties and your love will be tested.

That said, if your expectations are for an effortless relationship, you might be at risk for throwing in the towel at the earliest sign of any discord. Think of how many good relationships have been discarded before they matured, dismissing a life partner while searching for a soul mate.

The idea of a soul mate is romantic but also damaging because healthy relationships are developed and don’t just appear. Author Lisa Arends explains: “A fulfilling relationship occurs when both partners are open and vulnerable, creating an environment of mutual understanding, and intimacy. It takes time – often lots of time – and effort to reach this point.”

In Hold Me Tight, Dr. Sue Johnson, posits that we all have raw spots (in our emotional skin) that are tender to the touch and deeply painful. She writes: “A responsive partner helps us work through our painful feelings.” It is natural to feel exposed as we allow ourselves to fall in love and it takes determination to work through each partner’s vulnerabilities and wounds.

Jena and Trevor, in their mid-thirties, have navigated many challenges together such as Jena’s trust issues and emotional baggage leftover from her ex-husband’s infidelity.

Jena put it like this: “I didn’t realize how fearful I was until I was with Trevor. Because he was worth me working on myself and being aware of my mistrustful feelings. Thankfully he has been very patient, the only patient person I have dealt with. And he’s helped me to be more trusting.”

Jena and Trevor’s successful ten-year marriage illustrates how a supportive partner can help you deal with the unpredictable, ever changing aspects of life as your vulnerabilities are exposed and you face challenges or disagree.

What is the secret of finding a healthy relationship? In his book The Relationship Cure, distinguished observer of marital relations, Dr. John Gottman explains: “It’s not that these couples don’t get mad or disagree. It’s that when they disagree, they’re able to stay connected and engaged with each other. Rather than becoming defensive and hurtful, they pepper their disputes with flashes of affection, intense interest, and mutual respect.”

After all, there is no such thing as a perfect partner. Nonetheless, you might want to ask yourself this question: Is there something about the way that he or she treats me that makes me a bigger and better person? If the answer is no, ask yourself: Am I settling for less than I deserve in my relationship?

Mira Kirshenbaum’s book “Is He Mr. Right?” offers a valuable model for looking at compatibility. One of the central premises of her groundbreaking book is that chemistry is the best way to figure out if someone is right for you. Surprisingly, she’s not just talking about sexual chemistry but also the feeling that you enjoy being around your partner and have fun together.

5 Dimensions of Chemistry according to Mira Kirshenbaum:

  1. You feel comfortable with each other and it’s easy to get close. In other words, you feel you can be yourself.
  2. You feel safe in the relationship. This means that your partner doesn’t have significant mental health issues, can take care of him/herself, and you feel free to express your thoughts, feelings, and needs openly. You can be vulnerable and honest with your partner.
  3. It’s fun to be together. Kirshenbaum writes, “Couples who do have this dimension of chemistry going for them have a shortcut to intimacy and a buffer against the stressful times we all face.”
  4. You have real affection and passion for each other. This is where sexual chemistry comes in and it should go hand and hand with affection.
  5. You feel there’s real mutual respect. You accept, admire, and respect each other for who you are. According to Kirshenbaum, if you don’t have respect for your partner, it will eat away at chemistry until you have nothing left.

Are you wondering if you’re wasting your time with someone who is wrong for you? Here are seven signs that can help you decide if your relationship is worth pursuing.

7 signs your relationship is healthy:

  • You admire your partner for who he or she is as a person. You like and respect who they are and how they carry themselves through the world. If you can’t respect the way a person lives their life, let alone admire them, it’s hard to keep any relationship going.
  • Your partner is trustworthy. He or she calls when they say they will and follows through on promises. It’s impossible to build trust in someone who does not keep their agreements.
  • Your partner makes time for you on a regular basis. He/she makes you a priority because they value your relationship. Even when he/she is swamped, they stay in touch. This includes regular communication to show they’re thinking of you.
  • Your partner accepts you for who you are, doesn’t try to change you, and accepts responsibility for their actions. Life is messy at times. While it’s natural to assign blame when things go wrong, in a healthy relationship partners take responsibility for things they do to hurt each other, apologize, and make amends.
  • Your partner is your cheerleader and listens to you. He or she listens more than they speak. Your partner asks you questions about your hobbies, friends, and family. He/she doesn’t make you feel badly for being in a bad mood or having a tough day.
  • Your partner is affectionate. They’re comfortable holding hands and showing other signs of physical affection in private and in public.
  • Your partner talks about your future together so you can create a shared vision of your relationship. Don’t waste your time on someone who doesn’t include you in his or her future plans. Author Howard J. Markman Ph.D. writes: “Couples can choose to protect their relationship by setting aside time to enjoy each other, renewing their sense of closeness and togetherness.”

Foster Admiration and Friendship with Your Partner

There is recent evidence that happy, lasting relationships rely on a lot more than a marriage certificate and that the secret ingredient is friendship. Look for qualities you admire in your partner and remind yourself of these admirable qualities regularly.

When it comes to matters of the heart, where admiration and respect are found, love will be sustained. But where these things are absent, love will die. Finding a partner who likes and respects you as much as you do him or her will give you the best chance of finding lasting love.

Bum Equipment Signs License for Men’s Active, Kids’ Footwear

Bum Equipment is hoping to capitalize on the trend for legacy brands.
The 30-year-old label has inked a licensing deal with Freeze to relaunch Bum’s men’s activewear line.
Stephen Wayne, chairman of Bum Equipment LLC, said after testing the waters with a successful 30th anniversary capsule last year, the brand had entertained the idea of manufacturing the line itself, but opted instead for a licensing model.
“With Freeze, we found the perfect company to license our most trusted asset — the men’s wear piece — with a rollout of a complete line of knitted sportswear both manufactured domestically and imported,” he said. “After meeting with Charlie Tebele, chief executive officer of Freeze, late last year we came together very quickly. Their fine reputation with all the targeted retailers made the decision very easy. Not only are they one of the leaders in their arena but they excel in developing product for individual retailers.”
The main collection will be offered for back-to-school, Wayne said, although select capsules may launch earlier. The collection will be shown at the MAGIC show in Las Vegas next week. It will start with knit tops and bottoms that will retail for $ 35-$ 55.
Tebele called the Bum Equipment brand “nostalgic. We believe the time is ripe to

All Signs Point To Another Heartbreaking ‘Walking Dead’ Death

It looks like we’re saying “peace” to another “Walking Dead” character.

With an “all-out war” supposedly on the way, you know at least one other main character on the show is probably going down, and it looks like we now know who it will be.

Yeah, it’s about time to say goodbye to Sasha.

Sonequa Martin-Green is set to star on the new series “Star Trek: Discovery,” and while that is great for the actress, it’s not so good for her “Walking Dead” character.

Even more heart-wrenching, we’re just getting over the fact that Abraham gave Sasha a peace sign before his death in the season premiere. Now you’re gonna lay this shiz on us?

When asked about the impact of the new job on her “Walking Dead” role, Martin-Green told Entertainment Weekly she “can’t say anything.”

The actress said, “I can say that the story is as impactful and powerful and dynamic as it always has been, and there’s nothing to worry about where that’s concerned.”

Showrunner Scott Gimple was optimistic, telling EW that Martin-Green can “do anything.”

We don’t doubt that. We just think she’ll “do anything” while going where no woman has gone before on “Star Trek.”

In addition to the vague comments from Martin-Green, dedicated spoiler group The Spoiling Dead Fans have already spread rumors that Sasha will die in the second half of Season 7.

The reports also say that Michael Cudlitz, aka Abraham, may be making an appearance in the finale, so get your tissues ready.

Peace out.

Billy Reid is moving into eyewear with help from Eponym.
The designer has signed a multiyear licensing agreement with the start-up to produce the first Billy Reid Optical collection, which will be available in Billy Reid stores and select department stores and boutiques for fall 2017.
“I have been wearing glasses since I was 20 years old, so at this point they are a part of my identity,” Reid said. “There’s been an obvious demand from our customers requesting eyewear and it only made sense for us to find a partner to help this come to life.”
Reid said the collection, which will include sunglasses and optical lenses, will be inspired by classic American shapes and made from fine metals, brass and horn.
“The team at Eponym has long admired Billy’s dedication to craftsmanship and the rugged appeal of his brand, as well as Billy’s honest, open and collaborative approach to partnership,” said Andrew Lipovsky, Eponym’s founder and chief executive officer. “The partnership with Billy Reid cements Eponym’s status as the go-to licensing partner for contemporary brands that are seeking to expand into eyewear.”

Artists’ Brushstrokes Can Reveal Early Signs Of Brain Disorders, Study Finds

Abstract expressionist painter Willem de Kooning was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in his 80s. However, a new study by Alex Forsythe at the University of Liverpool claims there were signs of de Kooning’s cognitive decline apparent in his paintings, long before his condition was medically detected.

Forsythe set out to determine whether changes in artists’ brushstrokes over long periods of time could help detect signs of dementia or other neurodegenerative disorders. She analyzed 2,092 paintings, with work by de Kooning, as well as Claude Monet, Pablo Picasso, Marc Chagall, Salvador Dalí, Norval Morrisseau and James Brooks.

Forsythe examined the works using a technique called fractal analysis, highly contested among physicists, to determine whether there was a relationship between the fractal complexity in a painting and the brain activity of its artist.

Fractals are complex, self-repeating, geometric patterns ― like the spirals that appear in Romanesco broccoli, or the patterns formed by certain mountain ranges. If you examine a painting closely enough, some researchers contend, artists’ brushstrokes break down into such geometrical shapes, so unique to each artist’s hand they operate almost like fingerprints. In 1999, physicist Richard Taylor notably used fractal analysis to differentiate authentic Jackson Pollock paintings from forgeries by identifying the artist’s singular fractal fingerprint.

In her study, Forsythe traced the complexity of fractal patterns revealed in each artist’s work to gauge whether the fractal density increased or decreased over time. For Monet, Picasso and Chagall ― none of whom suffered from neurodegenerative disorders ― the fractal complexity of their works increased over time. In the works of Dalí and Morrisseau ― who were both believed to have had Parkinson’s ― Forsythe found that the fractal complexity first increased, then declined.

Finally, for de Kooning and Brooks ― the subjects diagnosed with Alzheimer’s ― Forsythe discovered that fractal complexity plummeted as they grew older, beginning around age 40. The study revealed signs of shifting brain function in de Kooning’s paintings over 40 years before he was diagnosed by doctors.

The information seems to be like a footprint that artists leave in their art,” Forsythe explained to The Guardian. “They paint within a normal range, but when something is happening the brain, it starts to change quite radically.”

There are surely aspects of Forsythe’s study that complicate her astounding results. First, the study’s small sample size of only seven artists raises concerns about the larger accuracy of its findings. And of course, there are still scientists like Hamilton College’s Kate Brown, who believe fractal analysis to be “utter nonsense.”

Nevertheless, there is something profoundly beautiful about the possibility of brushstrokes depicting the inner workings of the brain in complex yet perceptible ways. Each painting, then, not only depicts its subject matter but also the interior world of its maker, in ways he or she might not even be aware of.

Columbine. Isolated Victims, Ignored Signs.: Victims of Intolerance, abuse, bigotry and hate.

1)In a world where hate, bigotry, poverty and false hope abounds, it same as though today our children are compelled to deal with intolerance, hazing, and bullying behind the walls of our schools as if it has become a part of their school’s curriculum. The spectacle of a young individual’s life being snuffed out in the flower of their youth is not only heartbreaking, but it’s also a disadvantage to the world for the fact that that individual was robbed the opportunity to bless the earth with their talents and gifts, in addition to those whose lives they were called to bless. Within the past ten (10) years, stories of unspeakable horrific violence have introduced us to a new meaning of the word, “Heinous”. It’s no doubt sad and mind blowing the way people’s decisions and ignorant action in they ways of living preys on the innocence of others until it is translated into violence. Whether its persecution, rape, molestation, bullying, physical, verbal, mental, and or sexual abuse, racism, hatred, bigotry, and intolerance for reasons unknown to us, these all play major roles in our lives and often rapes and destroys a part of our being and compel the weak to translate an abundance of hurt, pain and hate into what is know to the world as, “School Massacres”. As an outsider with a clear mind and conscience we can easily judge those who had made harsh decisions such as executing massacres and or suicide. However, placing my feet into the shoes of one who once walked the street of depression I can say that most whom had killed others didn’t really wanted to commit the act deep down in their hearts, but when one is consistently beaten, abused, teased, hazed, and having their advantage taken, your mind becomes overwhelmed with revengeful thoughts, and I guest after being ignored help, feeling hopelessly lost, one makes that desperate call to end it all, not because they wanted to die, but because they felt no one cared that they lived. 15 Signs You’re in a Healthy Relationship

Being in love is great and all, but what you really need for a lasting, healthy relationship is a solid, compatible partner. Here, experts share 15 things that happy, thriving couples have in common.

All Sex, Love & Life

8 Signs Your Relationship Is Built To Last

I was watching an old dating show recently that was almost like ‘The Dating Game’ where someone would choose a contestant based on their credentials (for lack of a better term), and then narrow down one person of the three to go on a date with.

More than once, the people decided to not even go on a date because they were just so different from each other on paper. While some personality differences are beneficial to relationships, I sometimes wonder to myself how many unhappy relationships wouldn’t have began in the first place if people were a little more discerning about who they end up with.

But rather than taking a negative approach to the discussion — I wanted to lay out five points that show you are headed in the right direction.

You fully support each other.

Whether or not you share each others’ passions or life ambitions, when you truly care about someone you want to see them succeed and be happy in whatever they love. This means standing beside them, not in their way, when they dedicate effort towards pursuing a goal.

You deeply respect each other.

This one needs no explanation — mutual respect between partners in a relationship is paramount to its success. Honesty, trust, friendship, and intimacy all grow from this foundation. Without respect, there is nothing else.

You are willing to compromise for each other.

While of course you should be compatible with your teammate, that doesn’t mean that you will automatically love every single thing they love, and vice versa. If you truly care for someone and their happiness, you will be willing to watch, do, see, and experience things they enjoy, as they would do for you in return.

Without compromise, we can easily find our relationships resembling a see-saw with a huge boulder on one side, the distribution never shifts.

In this case, the boulder represents the wants and needs of one partner. There should be an equal amount of balance in order to keep you both happy and satisfied.

You are similarly ambitious.

We can’t expect our significant other to have an identical plan for their future as we do (See: Compromise and mutual support), but it is reasonable to desire similarities when building a life with someone.

Like any team, as a relationship is, the results are best when the members are working towards a common goal together. This goal could even be something so simple as self-improvement. If one teammate is dedicating their life to personal growth, and the other is content with how things are and never displays a desire for change, then this can easily create resentment and tension over time.

You can trust your partner with anything.

I’m not sure why this one is so difficult to grasp, but if your boyfriend or girlfriend wants to go out with their friends who they haven’t seen in awhile, what’s the harm? A solid relationship won’t be shaken by this simple act and you’ll know they’ll be back in your arms at the end of the night or the next day. Nothing to see here, kids — move along.

If your partner doesn’t trust you, and you’ve given them no reason to feel this way, it is possible they are projecting their own infidelities or insecurities onto you.

In the “ultimate” relationship, both partners have earned each others’ trust and would never do anything to betray it.

You never judge each other.

Happiness in a relationship comes from two teammates who are able to be open and honest with each other. That honesty comes from being comfortable to open up and know that you will not be judged.

When you’re sharing your life with someone, there is no room for discomfort, secrets, or lies. Especially secrets or lies that are forced by the inability to be genuine with your teammate.

The right person for you will support and encourage you on your journey to becoming the person you want to be, but they will also love you as the person you already are — no judgment allowed.

You communicate effectively.

It’s natural to face conflicts when you spend a lot of time with any person, but a healthy relationship will resolve any issues by discussing their opinions and stances in order to understand each other better and reach a solution they both agree on. Frequent nasty, vindictive fights are a sign to re-evaluate your ‘relationship.’

You never lose sight of the little things.

The small things you do for someone are what count the most. These are the actions that show your partner that you’re willing to put in effort for them, just because. No special occasion or holiday required. You don’t need a schedule to show someone you love them.

A happy, healthy relationship will consist of two partners willing to put in equal effort, consistently. Great relationships are not about give and take, they’re about give and give.

When these little things start to fade is when the strength of the relationship will start to become more questionable. Do they really appreciate you? Do they still care as much as they once did? Is our relationship becoming stronger over time, or weaker?

Once you start asking yourself these questions, it is time to address them and find real answers.

Every person who reads this will have a different image of their “ultimate” relationship in their mind. The key thing is to understand that it is possible to achieve, as long as both teammates are willing to put in the effort to uphold the integrity of the wants and desires.

Does it sound like work? That’s because relationships can be — but that’s what makes the great ones so rewarding.

10 Signs You’ve Found the Woman You Should Marry

Women are great. Like really, really great.

As a strong, independent woman, I can confidently reiterate that women are a necessity in all heterosexual men’s lives. The woman you’re dating should enrich your life. In fact, she should make it so amazing, that you can’t wait to marry her.

Here are 10 ways to know that the woman you’re with is the one you should marry.

1. She’s sweet.

A sweet woman is hard to find — especially in a big, tough city. So a good woman is surely a keeper. When you find a woman who is sweet, or any version of it, put a ring on it!

2. She makes you smile.

Whether you’re in Central Park or in the South of France with her, she makes you really, really happy. You should able to laugh and be silly with her. Communicating is easy because you can talk to her, and I mean really talk to her. You feel safe and comfortable sharing your emotions with her. You know she’ll be by your side through thick or thin.

3. She’s a good partner.

Your life is better with her in it. She’s someone you can build (and imagine!) a great life with. Picturing having a family with her is a no-brainer, because she’d be a good mom. She’d be such a great wife that you’d consider giving her a wife bonus. Just kidding!

4. You want to be with her.

Plain and simple, you want to be with her. You hear stories from your friends about how they love being single, or they dread seeing their wives. Maybe your single friends talk about how they don’t want to give up the bachelor life. Your coupled friends say they work late just to avoid spending quality time with their significant others. But you don’t feel that way. Being with her never gets old. You want to be with her — as much as you can!

5. She thinks you’re a dime piece.

You catch her checking you out pretty often. You might be in gym shorts, or in black tie formal, and she always thinks you’re the sexiest man alive.

6. You trust her.

She’s loyal. You know she’s your ride or die lady. She’d never cheat on you, because she loves you too much. She could be on a girls trip in Ibiza for 10 days straight and you know you have nothing to worry about. She’s there when you need her and she makes you a priority.

7. You think she’s hot and sexy.

She could be fully dressed, or sans clothing, but when you look at her, you think “Daaaamn.” You know you’re lucky, because she’s so hot and sexy.

8. She’s your biggest supporter.

She’s always singing your praise. Whatever life has in store for you two, you know she’ll be your biggest cheerleader. She’s always there for you.

9. Everyone likes her.

Everyone likes her because she’s that wonderful. She’s easy to talk to. She’s friendly and personable. She’s so great that even a homeless person would want to be her friend.

10. She lets you have space.

A good woman will give you space. She doesn’t crowd or smother you. Man days, man nights, man cave, you name it — she lets you do your “man” things.

25 Unmistakable Signs He’s in Love With You

By Jillian Kramer, Glamour

Some signs of true love are subtle. Others? Well, they all but hit you over the head with obviousness. If you’re blissfully happy and searching for signs that your guy is hooked on you too, these 25 signs will make it crystal clear.

1. He actually listens when you give him a 20-minute-long play-by-play of a dramatic situation with your work frenemy.

2. He doesn’t suggest you go brush your teeth before he kisses you good morning.

3. He initiates cuddling that doesn’t lead to sex.

4. He’s introduced you to all his friends — and when you met them, they already knew where you work and that you love Swedish fish.

5. He’s introduced you to his parents (or wants to).

6. He texts you just to say “Good morning” or “I’m thinking about you.”

7. He never misses the chance to tell you “Good night,” even if he’s out with the guys.

8. He’s prone to saying corny, eye-roll-inducing things such as, “You have the most beautiful smile.”

9. He puts you first. Think: accepting the invite to your friend’s engagement party on the night his favorite team is playing — without so much as a mention of it.

10. He’s equal parts proud and ever-so-slightly jealous when another man hits on you.

11. Forget talking about tomorrow, he’ll say things like, “Next summer, we should…” and doesn’t hesitate to put plans on the books for months in advance.

12. He gives you the remote more often than he hogs it.

13. He saves the last bite of any delicious meal just for you.

14. He asks to sign the cards you send to your mother.

15. When you’re in bed with killer cramps, he runs to the drugstore for tampons and painkillers.

16. All it takes is a single smile aimed in his direction, and this man can’t stay mad at you.

17. Whether he’s prepping for a big meeting or simply picking out his tie, he likes to get your opinion.

18. He cares whether you orgasm — and learns what it takes to make it happen.

19. That thing you mentioned in passing you just had to have? Don’t buy it — he already snagged two for you.

20. He’s bookmarked a GIFs site so he can randomly send you messages that make you smile.

22. He teases you in ways that feel funny, not mean.

23. He’s saved every card and note you’ve ever given him. Heck, he even has a sliver of wrapping paper from your first-ever gift exchange.

24. He tells everyone he knows when you have a life achievement of any kind.

25. He says, “I love you” every day, and you believe him.

Into Our 40s: 10 Signs You’re Comfortably (and Happily) Married

I’ve been married 15 years, and no, it hasn’t been easy. In fact, it’s been a 15-year Ironman that requires the equivalent of a daily training regimen. Throughout the years, we’ve confronted major adversity and also have experienced moments of nirvana and immense joy. We’ve grown to appreciate that marriage is a lifelong journey we’re on together. And it has taken us 15 years to get to the place we’re at today and like all other couples, are continuously evolving in our communication, roles and relationship as a whole.

So without further ado, in true Letterman fashion, I humbly present my top 10 signs you’re in a good place:

1. You either finish each other’s sentences when out in public or sit comfortably in absolute silence when alone together.

2. Daily dialogues exist in your own peculiar code language. For example, taken from your network of contacts, you’ve developed a vast database of aliases whereby each one conveys an entire life perspective. Thus, when your spouse’s behavior requires a tune-up, you effectively snap him to his senses with a quick “alias (name) drop.”

3. You still make each other laugh a lot, and have built up a repertoire of witty material that would rival that of any career comedian.

4. You’re 100 percent yourself and unreservedly confide your hidden agendas and Machiavellian aspirations.

5. You come clean about your biggest insecurities, anxieties and fears and encourage each other when the other feels weak.

6. Your kids know they face a united front and no longer bother trying to play one parent against the other.

7. You challenge your spouse to sniff unwashed parts of your body — just for kicks, because you’re still immature like that.

8. Your spouse forces you to look in the mirror and face your biggest flaws then mercilessly challenges you to somehow work them out.

9. You attend weddings and witness newlyweds profess their undying love and devotion to one another. And in unison, nod knowingly, for only through pain and suffering will those proclamations ultimately prove true or false.

10. You know that together, you can conquer the world and have the years, wrinkles, gray hairs, and history to prove it!

9 Signs You’re Finally in a Mature, Adult Relationship

This was originally published at www.elitedaily.com

Media dictates so much in today’s world — including relationships.

Whether portraying unrequited love, forbidden love or passionate love, the media’s ideas of love all have something in common: drama.

After all, drama drives the media.

But, guess what? When you’re in a dramatic relationship, this reality isn’t so appealing. Dramatic relationships are just plain sh*tty, and there’s nothing romantic or alluring about that.

Real relationships, to be quite honest, could almost be considered boring, and the media doesn’t value “boring.”

For years, I bought into the idea that a relationship needed some type of drama to be legitimized. As I’m settling down, I’m realizing how truly wrong and exhausting that mentality was.

For the first time in… well, ever, I’m in a healthy, mature relationship. It’s different than previous relationships I’ve had because this one is real. It is solid. It is stable. It is everything I’ve ever wanted, and everything I didn’t know I needed.

It’s also everything I ran away from in the past because it just seemed too “boring.” Only now am I realizing that there is a difference between a boring relationship and a stable, mature one.

1. Being your significant other’s partner isn’t hard.

Until recently, I always struggled when I was in a relationship. Feelings of uncertainty and anxiety were overwhelmingly normal, while feeling secure in the relationship was not.

Maybe this is obvious, but it shouldn’t be the case. Being someone’s partner should come easily rather than feel like a chore or a responsibility.

2. You don’t have to be in contact 24/7.

Part of an adult relationship is realizing that each person has his or her own world, separate of one another. This means that being together all the time or constantly texting just isn’t feasible, and that is OK.

Actually, it’s even nice. I love my boyfriend, but if I talked to him constantly, I’d go crazy.

3. You don’t want to change your significant other.

I’ll admit that I have a history of seeking out broken people and trying to fix them, which never ends well. This isn’t the case in a healthy relationship.

In a healthy relationship, changing your partner shouldn’t even be a desire on your radar. Changing annoying little habits is one thing, but changing or fixing who someone is as a person should not be your goal. Maybe he or she isn’t perfect, but he or she shouldn’t have to be.

4. Your significant other balances you out — and even calls you out.

Rather than always agreeing on every aspect of life, your relationship tests and challenges your views. Your partner brings new views to light — possibly ideas that oppose your own.

When you don’t agree on a topic, it isn’t the end of the world. You acknowledge each other’s positions and move on.

5. Discussing the future isn’t scary.

In immature relationships, there is less certainty and less communication about the status of the relationship, therefore less willingness to discuss the future.

In an adult relationship, plans can be made months in advance without stopping to wonder where the relationship will or won’t be.

6. You may disagree, but you don’t all-out fight.

Observing how the other person argues and adjusting your own style is a learning process, but part of a mature relationship. For example, I tend to shut down when I am angry, whereas my boyfriend is more direct.

Adjusting to this was difficult at first, but now that we know each other’s style of disagreement, we are able to communicate in a more mature manner.

7. Showing your love becomes more important than verbally expressing it.

It used to irritate me that I am more vocal about telling my boyfriend I love him. He, on the other hand, doesn’t say it as often, but shows it in his actions.

Over time, I’ve realized that this is preferable to hearing it all the time. Sometimes love is in the day-to-day actions rather than the literal words, and this is definitely a more mature viewpoint.

8. Jealousy is a non-issue because the relationship is founded on trust.

In an adult relationship, the male can have female friends and vice-versa without the world coming to a screeching halt. Each partner is secure in the other’s commitment and does not possess an unfounded worry about cheating or dishonesty.

9. You’re in sync with one another — mentally and physically.

This may sound like it’s about sex, but it is not the case. It’s more about knowing a person so well and having developed such a connection that his or her smallest movement can be predicted — or sentences finished. It’s about him or her becoming an extension of you in a healthy way.

13 Signs You’ve Gotten Way Too Comfortable With Your Long-Term Partner

Most happy long-married or long-term couples will say they’d never trade the comfort and trust they have now for the giddiness and unpredictability of a new romance. However, it’s safe to say that at least some of these long relationships, even the happiest ones, might benefit from just a bit more, well, mystery. Sure, your partner may have seen you at your worst, with no makeup, morning breath or even sick as a dog on the bathroom floor. That doesn’t mean they should be in the bathroom brushing their teeth while you pee.

So with a little help from our Facebook friends, we’ve come up with a pretty extensive list of those everyday things that show you might — just might — be a tad too comfortable in your relationship:

1. You pee or poo with the bathroom door open (or while your partner is in the bathroom).

2. You’re nicer to complete strangers than you are to your significant other.

3. You have no problem telling him/her they need a breath mint (ouch).

4. You haven’t worn makeup in so long that your mascara tubes are crusty and your lipsticks smell funny.

5. To you, granny panties are just, well, panties (it’s all about the comfort, baby).

6. You can openly talk about your bowel movements/gas/other bodily functions or upsets.

7. Your S.O. buys your tampons/pads/feminine hygiene products for you.

8. You buy your own birthday gift from your partner and vice-versa.

9. Date night consists of binge-watching on Netflix and relaxing in sweats.

10. You go braless around the house (and it’s not always sexy).

11. You sometimes can’t sell the difference between his and hers when folding laundry.

12. When traveling, you both know your roles. (You check in at the hotel while he parks the car and grabs the bags.)

13. You replace your husband’s worn-out underwear without him even knowing it.

7 Signs You’re Ready for a Major Life Change

photo credit: IMG_4146 via photopin (license)

There are moments in life when we know we need to drastically shift the course of our lives in order to live a life we love and truly be happy. Moments that while sometimes scary, will lead to a change that allows us to grow, evolve, and finally become who we were meant to be.

Wondering if you’re ready for that level of change and the joy that follows? Here are seven sure-fire signs you are ready and open for the big changes ahead.

1. You’re going through a life upheaval.

When you are experiencing a life upheaval whether it’s in your career, relationship, family life, or finances, it’s usually an indication that a change of course is necessary. It also represents an opportunity for you to learn more about yourself, what you want, and how to make the necessary changes to deliver the joy and peace you are seeking. A major life upheaval is nothing more than an invitation to do a bit of digging to grow and evolve as a person while setting new strategies into place to make life what you want it to be. Don’t let this rocky road be a sign that your life is doomed.

2. You’re at the end of your rope and you know it’s now or never.

You’ve been thinking about making a change for a while and you have had just about enough of the lack, unhappiness, frustration, and negativity that has been seeping into your soul. You’re ready to rewrite your life story and make it one of joy, peace, abundance, and success and are willing to do what it takes to create a life you love because you know you are worthy of that. We all are.

3. You’re tired of merely surviving.

You know on a fundamental level that life is meant to be enjoyed, experienced and truly loved and just paying the bills and getting by each month is slowly killing the creative and adventurous soul of yours. You dream of the day you can finally do what you love and live your life purpose and you are no longer willing to just survive. Your soul is telling you it’s your time to thrive.

4. Your current life is too small to fit your big dreams.

You’ve got big dreams and as you look around your current life you know that some things are going to have to shift dramatically to make room for everything you want to do. Whether you want to quit your job and backpack through Europe or build a cabin in the woods to write your amazing novel, big things need to happen and you know that in order for your dreams to become reality, you have to embrace the changes that are coming.

5. Your soul is calling you to be, have, and do more.

At first glance you thought life was great and you had nothing to complain about, but you are beginning to feel an internal desire to do so much more. Your vision isn’t completely clear and you aren’t sure where you might end up, but things are changing within you already and you know that as soon as you say ‘yes’ to that little voice inside nudging you along, the dominoes will begin to fall and your life is going to transform before your very eyes. It’s not a question of if you have more to be, have, and do, it’s a question of if you are ready. Well, are you?

6. All signs point to ‘YES’.

You’re noticing a common theme in your circle of friends, colleagues, and in the world around you. More people are making seemingly crazy decisions to quit their jobs, move across the country, or live their big dream and you can’t help but wonder why. The truth is, these are merely messages from the Universe telling you, yes my dear it’s time. Time for you to take the leap, the risk, and live a little (or a lot). There’s a whole world out there waiting for you and you are beginning to understand your time is coming.

7. You’re reading this article.

The fact that you are on the verge of a major life change isn’t news to you. You can feel the inner rumbling of your dreams and the magnetic force of inspiration pulling you to your purpose and this article is just confirmation for you. Listen to your heart and take the next step. There is no secret map that will highlight your path for you, all you have to do is follow your intuition and take inspired action. It really is that easy.

Elizabeth Arden Signs Behati Prinsloo

JUICY’S NEW ANGEL: Elizabeth Arden has signed model Behati Prinsloo as the face of a new fragrance masterbrand coming from Juicy Couture in July. Elizabeth Arden, which holds the brand’s fragrance license, declined to give the name or any further information on the upcoming project. “The new Juicy Couture fragrance makes a statement, and in Behati we found the perfect girl to capture the spirit of the brand,” said Robin Mason, senior vice president of global marketing at Elizabeth Arden. “Behati is a dynamic woman with global appeal.”
No word on whether the model — who has also been a Victoria’s Secret Angel — consulted her husband, Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine, about the project. Levine launched his first fragrances — also a masterbrand with options for men and women — in spring 2013.

10 Signs You’ve Fallen In Love With Your S.O.

What they say about love is true — when you know, you know.

But pinpointing the very moment that your feelings went from serious attraction to full-blown love? No easy task. On Wednesday, 10 romantic Redditors accepted the challenge. Below they explain how they knew, without a doubt, that they were head-over-heels in love.

1. You go out of your way to make each other happy.

“We used to be long distance. One night I was crying on the phone to him because I missed him so much. At 4 a.m. that morning I got a call saying he was outside. He drove all night to give me a cuddle because I was sad.”

2. You might differ personality-wise but you have some random (and awesome) things in common.

“Toward the end of our first date, her friends call her. Her phone rings and her ringtone is ‘Dayman’ from ‘Always Sunny’. She gets off the phone looks at me and asks what’s wrong because I have a dumbfounded look on my face. I told her to call my phone right now. She does. ‘Dayman’ is my ringtone. We knew.”

3. Doing mundane things together is not only tolerable, it’s enjoyable.

“We can spend hours upon hours talking about nothing and never get bored with each other.”

4. You’re totally at ease around each other and can be yourself.

“A couple of months into our relationship I was in the shower and she knocks on the door. ‘I need to weeee!’ she says. ‘Just come in! The door’s open!’ I reply. She came in, had her wee, washed her hands and then opened the shower door, said ‘Nice ass’, slapped me on the butt and left. Right then, I knew I was with somebody really special. That was three years ago and we’re now happily married.”

5. You start referring to yourselves as a “we” without skipping a beat.

“Whenever he would speak about the future, he always included me in it. It was never a ‘I’, it was a ‘we’. It was our future.”

6. You’re there for each other during the really tough sh*t.

“Until recently I was a total junkie f*ck-up with potential. I spent my 20s using hydromorphone and fentanyl and heroin — amongst other things and was an idiot. But a functional idiot. And she stood by me and I’m clean now. She almost didn’t. I got one chance and I took it.”

7. Laughter is a constant.

We laughed at almost anything together — the night we decided we were right together was spent in a tent giggling until 5 a.m. sharing the same sleeping bag. Eleven months on and we’re still as happy as when we first got together.”

8. You have physical chemistry that goes beyond sex.

“On our first date, she stayed over. We didn’t do the nookie times, but I did feel something click as she snuggled in and fell asleep with her head on my chest.”

9. You melt a little when you see your S.O.’s parental instincts shining through.

“A few months into dating we were at a party and a friend was there with his daughter. The way my S.O. was interacting with her and playing around with her made me realize that I want her to be the mother of my children.”

10. You’re different in all the right ways.

“He balances me out. I run on instinct and he thinks things through. I take him to things he would never go to otherwise and he shows me how to relax. We have so much fun together and he makes me laugh every day. I started falling for him when I realized he was leaving his comfort zone for me, he was doing things he wouldn’t choose to do [on his own] for me. I would do anything for that man.”
