Only the Brave Foundation Supports Charity Music Event in Florence

LOVE SONG: Only the Brave Foundation is supporting That’s Live 2018, a charity music event taking place at Florence’s Artemio Franchi soccer stadium on July 21.
In particular, the foundation, established by OTB founder Renzo Rosso, has secured the participation of Courtney Love as the event’s special guest.
Love will sing her “Celebrity Skin” and “Malibu” hits, along with a still undisclosed cover song with guitarist Tad Kubler.
That’s Live 2018 is organized by Rockin’1000, an initiative established in 2015 that brings together 1,000 professional musicians on the same stage.
Part of the proceeds from the event will be donated to the San Patrignano rehab community located in Rimini, in Italy’s Emilia-Romagna region.
“The first time I saw the Rockin’1000 video, I thought, ‘I want to do that!’” said Love, referring to a video, which became viral online, featuring the 1,000 musicians playing Foo Fighters’ “Learn to Fly” song in Cesena in 2015. “The sight and sound of a thousand musicians connecting with their audience in this open, transcultural way was incredible. It reminded me of the early punk scene, with its community centered around diversity and acceptance. And after I learned about Rockin’1000’s and Only the Brave Foundation’s commitment to San Patrignano, a charity dedicated

‘Today’ Show Teams Supports Savannah Guthrie at Book Party Hosted by Nanette Lepore

AFTER HOURS: The “Today” show team always has an up-and-at-’em start to the work day, but that didn’t deter the morning crew from supporting Savannah Guthrie at her book party at Nanette Lepore’s showroom Thursday night.
NBC’s Al Roker, Matt Lauer, Hoda Kotb, Bobbie Thomas and Willie Geist (who now coanchors MSNBC’s “Morning Joe”) turned up at the rooftop cocktail party. Newcomer Megyn Kelly, who kicked off her much-anticipated run on the morning show earlier in the week, was not in the crowd. Musician Jon Bon Jovi, who at one time was NBC’s artist in residence, made the rounds. Lepore opened up her West 35th Street showroom to about 70 guests who helped Guthrie celebrate the children’s book “Princesses Wear Pants.” The pair first met a few years ago when the designer did a fashion trend segment with Thomas on the morning show.
Lepore was on board with the empowerment message of Guthrie’s book, as well as its fashion theme, a company spokeswoman said. While Guthrie signed some books, partygoers indulged in mini Guinness beers and short-rib sandwiches, compliments of Peter Callahan Catering. As she routinely does on air, the guest of honor wore a look from Lepore, in this case an

Tory Burch Supports Proenza Schouler at Paris Show

AMERICANS IN PARIS: Though it wasn’t yet July 4, there was a distinctly American flavor to the first day of Paris Couture Week, with shows by Proenza Schouler and Rodarte among the highlights of the day.
Tory Burch turned out to support Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez at the Lycée Jacques-Decour, a school built in the 19th century.
“The Americans invade,” she said with a smile. Burch has been spending more time in the French capital since the opening of her Paris flagship in 2015 and her subsequent engagement to Pierre-Yves Roussel, chairman and chief executive officer of LVMH Fashion Group, but her relationship with the city is still growing.
“I feel like it’s a work in progress and one that is becoming so beautiful. I’m getting to learn Paris and really understand it, but you know, just even navigating Paris for me in the last few years has been so wonderful, exploring and working on my French,” she said.
“That’s a bit of a different story. I mean, I understand it, but it’s hard working on it,” she added ruefully.
Burch said it was important for U.S. brands to be represented in the City of Light.
“It’s global, when you think about fashion, and it’s

13 Reasons Why Villain on Working with Selena Gomez & Why He Supports Series in Showing the ‘Brutal’ Side of Suicide

13 Reasons Why star Justin Prentice understood the responsibility of playing the controversial series’ villain, which is why he did an extensive amount of research to prepare for the role.

“I did a lot of research,” Prentice, 23, tells PEOPLE about playing bad boy Bryce Walker. “I had a psychiatrist and a sexual assault expert on speed dial.”

Since the show hit Netflix on March 31, audiences learned throughout the 13 episodes of the drama series why high school sophomore Hannah Baker, who left behind a collection of cassettes for her fellow classmates to listen to after her death, chose to commit suicide. Bryce, who raped Hannah at a party, is one of the subjects of the graphic tapes.

“Like most people, I think it’s very normal when you hear about a case of rape or sexual assault to immediately be angry at the person doing the rape, which of course I still am. And it’s an important thing. But I think it gave me deeper insight into what’s wrong and why these things are happening — having to force myself to get into the mind of these people and how they’re capable of doing what they do,” Prentice tells PEOPLE about taking on the role of a rapist.

“It’s a lack of education,” he explains. “These people, one, they may have a sense of arrogance in that they can get away with whatever they want to due to the sports or money or power or what have you. But then on top of that, they’re not properly educated on what consent is and what sex should look like and what a healthy relationship should look like.”

In the final episode of the inaugural season, viewers witnessed Hannah commit suicide in the bathtub by slitting her wrists and arms. Though the scene was extremely graphic — and raised the question: does the show glamorize suicide? — Prentice stands behind the creators’ decision to detail how Hannah chose to end her life.

“We wanted people to have these conversations because at the end of the day, they decide to take that first step towards changing things,” says Prentice.

“One of the main points of everyone — and the months and months even before we as actors jumped on board locking down script and plot ideas and how certain things would be covered — one of their major key points was: how do we not glamorize this? So I stand by what they all did,” he adds. “I think they made the right choices.”

“It’s dark and it’s brutal and that’s what suicide often is. And so the writers didn’t want to convey this as an easy thing. They don’t want to make suicide look easy. They felt that if they shied away from showing it, it’s not going to resonate with people, like actually watching her do the act in the bathtub,” Prentice admits. “It is hard to watch, it is very difficult, but suicide’s difficult.”

Of the key people behind the scenes who brought the 2007 young adult novel, written by Jay Asher, to the screen was Selena Gomez, who serves as an executive producer. Though Gomez, 24, didn’t appear on-camera, she worked closely with the cast and crew throughout filming to bring it to life.

“She’s so young, but you forget that when you meet her, because she’s a power player in the industry. She’s this huge superstar,” Prentice says of Gomez. “She was fantastic. She and her mother, Mandy Teefey, were there since the get go and talking to us, phone calls, we would go out to dinner, talk about the characters, flesh things out. She’s a really cool person. Very intelligent and super passionate about this project, which is really cool, because we wouldn’t have it without she and her mother.”

Looking to season 2, which will hit the streaming service next year, Prentice says that justice will be coming for Bryce.

“I know Brian Yorkey talked in an interview that he wants Justice for Bryce, so I’m assuming that means justice is coming for Bryce,” he says of what writer Brian Yorkey has in mind for the continued storyline.

“I’m assuming he’s going to get what’s coming to him, which is great,” he says, and adds, “I think we all want that. I think we’re all on the same page when it comes to Bryce facing consequences for the first time in his life.”

13 Reasons Why season 1 is currently streaming on Netflix, and season 2 is set to hit Netflix in 2018.

‘United We Feed’ Photo Series Supports All Moms — However They Nourish Their Children

Photographer and mom of two Caitlin Domanico hopes her latest project will provide support for all parents navigating the world of pumping, nursing and bottle feeding.

“United We Feed” is a series of photos Domanico took of clients, friends, and acquaintances nourishing their babies in the manner that is best for their individual families. For many of the women, that’s breastfeeding. For others, it’s pumping and bottle feeding. And for some, it’s tube feeding.

“Everybody’s journey is so different,” the photographer told The Huffington Post. “I love being able to tell their story and hopefully chisel away at that silly term ‘Mommy Wars’ with one photograph at a time by showing that we are all humans with a unifying goal in mind — to love our little babies with all of our soul.”

Domanico drew inspiration for the series from her own experiences as a breastfeeding mom. While her oldest daughter breastfed for six months and then drank pumped milk and formula from a bottle, her younger daughter nursed exclusively for 18 months because she refused to drink from bottles and often threw fits. “I have talked endlessly to family and friends about my daughters and how I was feeding them, why I was feeding them that way, and how I felt about it,” the mom recalled, adding “I sought support from women when I felt unsure, scared, proud, guilty, and determined.”

united we feed

The other moms in her life were also sources of inspiration. “I have offered support and suggestions, mailed tea to women, cheered when I received a text of a selfie of a woman whose baby just latched, and hugged them as I agreed with them that it was absolutely okay to choose formula feeding/pumping, or to be tube-feeding because it was medically necessary,” she recalled.

“I love when I am able to give to other women, to listen, to hug them, to offer encouragement, support, and remind them that they are rocking the role of mom,” she continued. “Because at the end of the day, each woman was making a decision to love and nourish their baby no matter what the method of delivery may be.”

The response to “United We Feed” has been “incredible” and “humbling,” Domanico said, noting that she’s received countless messages from mothers wishing to thank her for representing their experiences or even requesting own photo shoots. Recently, the photographer was moved when she photographed a lesbian couple feeding their new baby. After one mom pumped and prepared the bottle, her wife fed the baby. Another powerful experience was capturing a mom whose baby with Down syndrome was finally gaining weight after months of difficulty taking a bottle.

Ultimately, Domanico aspires to host a gallery of images in the Philadelphia area where her studio is located. She also dreams of publishing a book that celebrates the variety of parenting decisions and experiences — in different cultures across the U.S. and eventually, around the world.

Through her messages of support, the mom hopes to break down some of the feelings of “mommy guilt” that stem from breastfeeding and bottle feeding. “It can lead to defensive and competitive behavior from women, who at the end of the day all have the same goal in mind- to love and nourish their precious and tiny babies!” she said.

“It is through this project I envision uniting mothers across all walks of life, while simultaneously teaching my daughters that other women are not the enemy,” she added. “We owe it to each other to foster a community that is deeply rooted in respect for one another, after all, motherhood is amazing. It is filled with joy, love, and can be so incredibly gratifying.”

Keep scrolling and visit Domanico’s website and Facebook page for a look at her beautiful series.

Kim Kardashian Supports Kylie Jenner’s Decision To Get Lip Fillers

Kim Kardashian is showing her support for her younger sister Kylie Jenner.

Days after Jenner revealed she has temporary lip fillers, Kardashian told “Access Hollywood” she stands by her sister’s decision.

“I know people are saying she’s 17 years old, but it’s been an insecurity of hers for years,” Kardashian said. “At 10 and 11 years old she would always say, ‘Kimmy, how come my lips aren’t as big as your guys?’ It’s something that she always was insecure about. So if it’s gonna make her feel better about herself, I’m all for it.”

In the episode of “Keeping up with the Kardashians” in which the fillers are discussed, Kardashian sister Khloe also stood by Jenner.

“Kylie decided to plump her lips. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that. I think if you’ve done something, though, it is right to cop up to it,” she said.
