Four years into her own company, Guizio started her career as a stylist, working with Lady Gaga’s stylist among others. More recently, she started doing a little personal shopping on the side at the request of her friends including Halsey, whom she first met six years ago. One of Giuzio’s childhood friends is now the musician’s manager. The designer said she first got to know of Halsey via the Internet. “It might have even been before Instagram,” she said.
The pair became friends during their leaner days, when each was trying to make their way. At that time, Halsey was sleeping on the floor with two of Giuzio’s other friends in a New York apartment. Chris Hemsworth Teams with Russo Bros. for Action Thriller

Chris Hemsworth is teaming up with the Russo Brothers for a new film.

According to THR, Hemsworth will star in Dhaka, an action thriller from first-time director Sam Hargrave. The Russo Brothers wrote the film and will serve as producers on the project.

The movie tells the story of a mercenary, played by Hemsworth, who takes a job to save the son of a businessman. Dhaka is a Netflix production, and filming starts in November.

Hargrave is a stunt coordinator who works as Chris Evans’ stunt double.

Hemsworth most recently appeared in the Russo Brothers’ Avengers: Infinity War, playing Thor. Hemsworth will reprise the role in the next Avengers film coming out in May. Hemsworth was also slated to appear in Star Trek 4, but negotiations have reportedly stalled.

LONDON — The racetrack is fast becoming the new runway as fashion and luxury brands strike deals with motorsport companies for special collections.
Michael Kors and Tommy Hilfiger have both aligned their brands with Formula One, and now Belstaff is set to unveil a limited-edition capsule collection with McLaren Automotive, WWD has learned.
The collection includes 10 men’s pieces and three women’s outerwear pieces. For men, there is all-season trilayer outerwear and a gilet, lightweight stretch nylon outerwear, a performance leather jacket, suiting and shirting for the weekend.
Women’s includes three outerwear styles in all-season trilayer, lightweight stretch nylon and performance leather. The pieces have ergonomic seam lines and innovative stretch fabrics for a full range of movement, Belstaff said.
It will be previewed at Pitti Uomo ahead of the consumer launch in November. Belstaff x McLaren will be available at Belstaff stores globally, online, at select retail partners and McLaren Automotive Dealerships.
Key design details include mesh ventilation systems, pivot armholes, padded shoulders, concealed micro pockets, minimal necklines to aid peripheral vision and extended rear hems for driving. Peter Millar has tapped Mahi Gold, a Massachusetts-based lifestyle brand and retailer, to open a store in Boston’s Seaport district.
The store at One Seaport marks the brand’s 12th boutique for the brand and offers the Peter Millar Collection, its high-end Crown Sportswear line as well as performance apparel and activewear from the Crown Sport line.

Thorsun Teams With Surf Lodge

George Sotelo has snagged a great summer job.
The founder and designer of Thorsun, a luxury men’s and women’s swimwear brand, has been named the Designer in Residence for the trendy Surf Lodge in Montauk, N.Y.
No, the gig doesn’t mean he’s spending the summer there hanging by the pool, but it does mean he’s designed the uniforms for the staff as well as the upholstery for the outdoor furniture.
Sotelo said he got to know the Surf Lodge team last summer when he did a charity pop-up there for Project Paz, which allowed him to actually sell to customers in person for the first time. “It was successful and super fun,” he said, “and I met a whole new demographic who had never heard of the brand.”
So when Surf Lodge founder Jayma Cardoso reached out to see if he’d follow Rachel Comey and Zimmerman as this year’s designer, he immediately agreed. The gig also allowed him to do women’s ready-to-wear for the first time — he designed three different patterned dresses for the staff. The men are being outfitted in surf shorts and sport shirts in one of his custom prints that he based on the color palette of the resort.

Huntsman Teams With Sotheby’s for First Online-Only Auction

TAILOR MADE: In partnership with Sotheby’s auction house, the Savile Row tailor Huntsman & Sons is staging its first online-only luxury lifestyle sale. Bidding starts May 22 and stretches until the end of June.
“At first I wasn’t interested in doing this collaboration, but then I started thinking of all the interesting things I wanted to produce, and before you know it, we had a lot of possibilities,” said Pierre Lagrange, Huntsman’s owner.
Lots range from bespoke jackets and sportswear to sporting goods and objects for the home.
Some of the pieces serve more than one purpose, such as a safari jacket with a backgammon print (for impromptu games in the Serengeti) and a walking stick that doubles as a cigarette holder, in the vein of James Bond. Other noteworthy pieces include those created in collaboration with Harley Davidson, Adidas and Reebok. There is also an orange suit jacket worn by Taron Egerton in the movie “Kingsman: The Golden Circle.”

Established in 2017, the talent competition addresses fashion design students who have the chance to get the support of the Pitti Tutorship team, guided by director Riccardo Vannetti, to start paving their professional career path.
For this new edition, an academic jury including The New School’s Parsons School of Design’s professors will select three of their students who enrolled in the project. Vannetti will name the winner, who will be awarded during the 70th Parsons Benefit Event hosted in New York on May 21 at the Pier Sixty venue.
Previously, Pitti Tutorship collaborated for its “Pitti Tutorship Reward” prize with several international fashion schools, including The Costume and Fashion Academy of Rome, Milan’s European Institute of Design and London’s Central Saint Martins.

Tracy Reese Teams With Artist Mel Chin for Art Project Designed to Raise Awareness of Flint’s Water Crisis

EVERY LAST DROP: Conceptual artist Mel Chin recruited Tracy Reese to create a fashion element for his retrospective “All Over the Place” at the Queens Museum in New York.
Coproduced by the public art-focused nonprofit No Longer Empty, the exhibition will feature 70-plus examples of his work — drawings, paintings, sculpture, installations and videos. Running through Aug. 7, the multilocation show will include sites in Times Square and the Broadway-Lafayette subway station. Adept at revealing environmental and socioeconomic systems and injustices, Chin recruited the Detroit-born Reese for “Flint Fit,” a fashion project designed to magnify the water crisis in Flint, Mich.
At Chin’s suggestion, 90,000 used water bottles were collected by Flint residents, who continue to use bottled water for everyday purposes more than three years after lead-contaminated water became a citywide problem. Once shipped to Unifi in Greensboro, N.C., the bottles were shredded and converted into fabric. Reese then designed a water-inspired collection that included rainwear and swimwear. About 14 women at the St. Luke N.E.W. Center produced the nine looks, which will be unveiled in a fashion event Sunday in the museum’s Watershed Gallery.

The brand’s account on Instagram counted more than 26,000 followers at press time.

NEW YORK — Expect to see Armie Hammer sporting a black-and-white hopsack sport coat on a red carpet sometime soon.
The jacket is part of a collaboration between celebrity stylist Ilaria Urbinati and the Little Rock, Ark.-based Strong Suit that will be launching for spring.
The pair was introduced around two years ago by actress Cameron Richardson, and the result of that meeting will be a collection of men’s suits, sport coats and dress shirts under the Strong Suit by Ilaria Urbinati label that will launch at Nordstrom’s new men’s store slated to open in New York in April. The collection will also be carried at the retailer’s Los Angeles store at The Grove.
“Ilaria is genuinely looking for the best style for her clients,” said Jamie Davidson, founder and creative director of Strong Suit, which was purchased one year ago by Oxford Industries. “She cares about the substance of the clothes, not the branding. So I’m incredibly grateful that she decided to work with a little start-up from Little Rock.”
The negotiations with Nordstrom, which carries Strong Suit’s regular men’s collection at several stores, started over a year ago. But once they saw the collection, “they were totally on board with it,” he said.

Free Country showed its holiday spirit Tuesday night when it partnered with The Fresh Air Fund to host a night of ice skating at the Rink at Bryant Park.
Some 100 kids and their families joined Free Country chief executive officer Ira Schwartz and five-time Olympic medal-winning gymnast Nastia Liukin for some sliders, cookies and a few circles around the ice.
“This is our way of giving back to kids who might not otherwise have the opportunity to go skating,” Schwartz said.
Free Country also created a limited-edition T-shirt featuring the brand’s new advertising slogan — #GetOutThere — with 100 percent of the proceeds going toward The Fresh Air Fund’s free summer and academic enrichment programs for children from underserved New York neighborhoods. The T-shirt is available in four colors and for sale on the company’s web site and the company has guaranteed a minimum donation of $ 25,000 to the group.

HSN and 20th Century Fox tapped designer Bibhu Mohapatra to create a capsule collection tied to the release of “Murder on the Orient Express,” the remake of the classic Agatha Christie novel premiering this week with a star-studded cast, including the film’s director Kenneth Branagh, Penélope Cruz, Johnny Depp, Michelle Pfeiffer and Daisy Ridley. Mohapatra will make his debut on a smaller screen tonight, to sell the capsule called Celeste by Bibhu he designed for the film tie-up at 9 p.m. on HSN.
Mohapatra was contacted several months ago about the project. “They came with a whole research package and said, ‘This is your project, and we want you to do it,’ because they followed my work,” said Mohapatra, who is based in New York but was born in India, and launched his eveningwear-based collection in 2009. “They thought that, given the story and the time it’s set in, I would be a good person to come up with the capsule collection inspired by the movie and its characters. It’s beautifully cast and beautifully done. And the best part is they shared their entire research for the film and costume and art direction.”

The Bloodhound Project is aimed at building a car that can set a new World Land Speed record of 1,000 miles an hour. The Bloodhound SSC, in development since 2008, is a supersonic machine comprised of a Formula One car, jet and spaceship. It has been designed with a jet engine and a rocket.
It is set to make its first run in public at Cornwall Airport Newquay in England on Thursday and will be driven by Andy Green, the current land speed record holder, who set a world record in October 1997 where he and his Thrust SSC team traveled at 763.035 mph.
“Andy and the team are exposed to extreme conditions including sun, heat and sand,” said Belstaff’s creative director Delphine Ninous. “We had to look to create a UV-protective material that is breathable and durable, with low flammability. The fabric is a double-sided stretch cotton ensuring ease of movement. The sunglasses we developed with Imatta to ensure they are protective for the extreme desert conditions, with technologically advanced lenses.”

Lepore was on board with the empowerment message of Guthrie’s book, as well as its fashion theme, a company spokeswoman said. ROMAN ACCOLADE: Bulgari is teaming with Rome’s Maxxi museum, a cultural institution established by the late Zaha Hadid and dedicated to 21st-century arts, to launch the Maxxi Bulgari prize.
The accolade is an evolution of the annual Premio Maxxi competition and it aims to support the museum’s efforts to spotlight young contemporary artists.
As part of the partnership, Bulgari and Maxxi tapped a panel of experts to select the finalists for the prize, including Hou Hanru, artistic director at Maxxi; David Elliott independent curator; Yuko Hasegawa, artistic director at Tokyo’s Museum of Contemporary Art, and Hans Ulrich Obrist, artistic director at the Serpentine Galleries in London.
The finalists will be revealed during an event, to be held on October 3 at the Bulgari Hotel in London, as part of the Frieze art fair. Following the announcement, a series of works by the shortlisted artists will go on to be showcased at the Maxxi, in an exhibition curated by Giulia Ferracci.

Charlotte Olympia Teams With Marvel

CHARLOTTE’S COMIC: Charlotte Olympia has looked outside the fashion industry for its latest collaboration. The British footwear brand revealed via Instagram that it’s teaming with the American comics publisher and movie producer Marvel.
Marvel is behind famous comics, including the likes of Spider-Man, Guardians of the Galaxy and X-Men. Designer Charlotte Dellal has always been partial to spider webs — a gold spider-web motif features on the back of all Charlotte Olympia shoes — so a Spider-Man-themed collaboration seemed most apt.
“We are teaming up with the world’s most iconic web-slinger,” she wrote on Instagram.
News of the collaboration was announced via an animated video that incorporates illustrations of the accessories from the Charlotte Olympia collaboration into a scene from Spider-Man filled with comics illustrations.

The capsule collection consists of signature Charlotte Olympia styles, such as high-heeled, strappy sandals, a pair of red Kitty slip-on sneakers and a clutch with a spider web motif embroidered all over each style.

Asos Teams Up With MTV on Capsule Range

ALL ABOUT THE EIGHTIES: Asos has teamed with MTV on a capsule range for women and men that launches on June 23. The collaboration came about as music-video channel and the British online retailer share the same demographic and appeal to the twentysomething market.
“It felt like a natural fit,” said Sian Ryan, Asos head of design. “Especially as we are so excited about the Eighties streetwear trend. As MTV began in the Eighties this was a great era to draw from, taking inspiration from this time of incredible change in both music and pop culture. It was exciting to be able to create a credible fashion range that wasn’t just your typical T-shirt collaboration. The collection includes so many statement pieces and the Eighties decade provided so much great inspiration for graphics, print and color.”
The Asos x MTV 20-piece limited-edition range consists of outerwear, shirts, dresses, jeans, pants, swimwear and accessories. The collection takes cues from Eighties-style elements and references from the era including bold graphic prints and logos, fluorescent neon hues, track suits and fanny packs. American Eagle Outfitters Teams With It Gets Better Project

FEELING THE PRIDE: American Eagle Outfitters will offer limited-edition AEO Pride T-shirts, tanks, boxer briefs and accessories with 100 percent of sales benefiting It Gets Better Project, a nonprofit organization focused on communicating to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender youth around the world that it gets better.
The campaign began today at ae.com and in select stores in the U.S., Canada and Israel and will run through the end of the month, while supplies lasts.
AEO will promote the partnership through social media, customer e-mails and in-store marketing and will encourage customers to take the It Gets Better Pledge and upload their own video at Itgetsbetter.org.
In Pittsburgh, home of AEO’s global headquarters, the company will sponsor Pride Pittsburgh by enabling associates to attend the Pride in the Streets concert and participate in the Pittsburgh Equality March on June 11.
In 24 select AEO stores, customers are invited to share their pride by taking photos in front of the Pride banner and have their photos uploaded to the company’s Times Square billboards on June 25, during the NYC Pride March. Blushington Teams With Tucker by Gaby Basora for All-Day Trunk Show

UPTOWN GABFEST: Women buzzing by Blushington’s Upper East Side location Thursday had the added bonus of checking out spring styles from Tucker by Gaby Basora, and meeting the designer.
“The Sugar Detox” author Brooke Alpert was one of the 40 women who picked up a blouse during the all-day trunk show. Having gone from having a lot of wholesale accounts to being largely direct-to-customers, Basora said events such as the one at Blushington are “really great since people have been e-mailing inquiring where they might be able to try things on and feel the fabrics. We’ve been having a nice turnout doing little collaborations with people that we adore.”
As one brand owned by Resonance’s Lawrence D. Lenihan and Joseph Ferrara, Basora’s company is based in the West 28th Street building that once housed The Tunnel nightclub. The designer plans to use the facility’s bleacher seating for readings and other special events that will include a shopping element. With many people short on free time, it can be difficult to find time for both, Basora said.

Pantone Teams With Airbnb on an ‘Outside In’ House in London

GOING GREEN: Pantone has teamed with Airbnb on a sustainable house in London. The color specialist firm has worked with the online home-stay network to list the newly revamped central London home. Located on 4 Dingley Place, in Clerkenwell, the 2,000-square foot, two-story, loft-style flat will be hosted by Pantone.
The design and the focus of “Outside In” house was on Pantone’s 15-0343 Greenery — the company’s color pick for 2017. The trans-seasonal hue has been described as a “zesty yellow-green shade that evokes the first days of spring, when nature’s greens revive, restore and renew.”
The house was created with a sustainable and nature-driven concept with recyclable materials and decorated with an abundance of plants and trees. The reception area, welcomes guests with lush woodland greenery and includes a dining room that also acts as an indoor greenhouse, filled with sprawling ferns, succulents and cacti. In the bedroom, a landscaped garden structure is lined up against walls and features a wooden trellis at the head of the bed with wall-climbing ivy. The space also includes a cozy, tented nook. Meanwhile, the kitchen contains various herbs and botanical structures along with glasses, mugs and kitchenware — all adorned in the Pantone shade.

Tommy Hilfiger Teams With Rossignol on Ski Capsule

Tommy Hilfiger is indulging his love of snow sports by partnering with Rossignol on a special collaboration. The capsule of four looks in the Tommy x Rossignol line feature the designer’s trademark red, white and blue color palette blended with performance features that make them appropriate to wear on the slopes.
The looks include Hilfiger’s signature logo in addition to Rossignol’s trademark rooster symbol.
“Skiing and winter sports have been a passion of mine since I was young,” Hilfiger said. “I’ve wanted to develop this capsule collection for a long time, and Rossignol was the ultimate partner to bring the concept to life in a really iconic way. With our shared values on quality, perfect fit and merging fashion with technical function, we’ve designed a signature red, white and blue collection that works from the ski slopes to the international metropolis.”
The men’s wear capsule includes technical equipment as well. So in addition to padded ski jackets, zip-through cardigans and ski pants, there are also dual-branded skis, boots, poles and a helmet. The retail prices range from $ 527 to $ 739 for outerwear and $ 157 to $ 422 for innerwear and pants.

SoulCycle Teams With Free City for Apparel Collab

The ath-leisure trend of 2016 is still going strong and one of the originators of the wear-your-gym-clothes-to-brunch ethos is staking further claim into the category with a new collaboration.
SoulCycle, the cult indoor cycling studio is debuting its latest apparel collection with Free City on Dec. 9. The 10-piece collection includes zip-up hoodies in cool washed, long-sleeved shirts with graphic detail, two muscle tanks, both cropped and regular sweatpants, and a hooded silver anorak with fake fur detail. Pricing starts at $ 68 for the tank and goes up to $ 385 for the coat on soul-cycle.com.
This is the first-time SoulCycle has partnered with Free City. SoulCycle tapped into the burgeoning workout culture, and began building out its apparel business three years ago with an eponymous line. The line is incredibly popular among its riders. The firm has previously collaborated with Ramy Brook, Shopbop, Milly by Michelle Smith and the CFDA. Earlier this year, the fitness firm partnered with Target on a 10-city tour featuring three-day weekend events taught by certified SoulCycle instructors. The Target collaboration also included a Target x SoulCycle pop-up shop with specialized merch.
The company is expanding in several directions. In September, SoulCycle launched its first-ever men’s fitness apparel line.

Meet the Teams Competing to be League of Legends’ City Champs

Next week, two final teams will compete to take home the title of the first ever League of Legends City Champs champions.

The championship is down to four teams from four cities, with the two best competing on Tuesday, December 6. Currently teams representing Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami, and Dallas are in the running for the final showdown.
