Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin Hop on a Plane as They Show Off Matching Watches: ‘Me and Bae’

Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin are flying in style!

The newly engaged couple were spotted preparing to leave the Big Apple behind on Friday, just days after returning to New York City following their romantic trip to the Bahamas, where the 24-year-old singer asked Baldwin, 21, to marry him.

While leaving Baldwin’s apartment in Brooklyn together, the pair were spotted with a large red suitcase.

The model and Drop the Mic host wore a chic and comfortable outfit, pairing some shiny blue track pants with a matching spaghetti strap crop top.

Bieber also sported a casual ensemble, opting for a green polo short with a pair of shorts. In the ultimate nod to comfort, he accessorized his look with a pair of white hotel slippers.

Baldwin went on to document their latest getaway as she shared her first Instagram photo with Bieber since their engagement.

In the image, the two lovebirds hide their faces while boarding a private plane together to an unknown destination.

“Mans,” she fittingly captioned the snap, which she has disabled social media users from commenting on.

Bieber also showed off the newest addition to the pair’s accessory collection on his Instagram Story: matching his and her watches!

“Me and bae,” he wrote alongside the luxurious photo.

Although the pair haven’t even been engaged for a week yet, they’re already working on planning their nuptials.

“As of now, they want a small ceremony with their families,” a source close to Bieber previously told PEOPLE. “They are not planning a huge, celebrity wedding. They are getting married for love and don’t want a flashy wedding.”

While spending time together in New York City this week, Baldwin showed off her massive oval-cut ring (which Bieber picked out because he could “see Hailey’s face in it”) — and the pair also traveled update to visit with Baldwin’s father, actor Stephen Baldwin.

Bieber confirmed their engagement on Monday in a heartfelt post on Instagram, writing: “Was gonna wait a while to say anything but word travels fast, listen plain and simple Hailey I am soooo in love with everything about you! So committed to spending my life getting to know every single part of you loving you patiently and kindLY.”

Shortly after, Baldwin tweeted: “Not sure what I did in life to deserve such happiness but I am so utterly grateful to God for giving me such an incredible person to share my life with! No words could ever express my gratitude.”

A source previously told PEOPLE how “Justin picked out the ring before they flew to the Bahamas. “He took Hailey on a special trip to propose. She didn’t know,” the source explained.

Although some fans were initially skeptical about Bieber’s relationship and quick engagement to Baldwin, as they reconciled just months after the pop star called it quits again with on-off flame Selena Gomez, an insider previously told PEOPLE their romance is the real deal.

“This is not a joke to him. He proposed because he truly feels Hailey is the love of his life,” the insider said. “He had a rough time last year, but he worked very hard to change and find more meaning in his life. Hailey couldn’t make him happier.”

The Original Gerber Baby Met the New Gerber Baby in Cutest Photo Ever: They ‘Immediately Bonded’

It was a picture nine decades in the making, as the original Gerber baby posed with the newest Gerber baby for an adorable photograph that has now gone viral.

Back in February — after a photo contest that featured almost 140,000 babies — Gerber chose then 18-month-old Lucas Warren, who has Down syndrome, as its next “spokesbaby,” making him the first Gerber baby in its 91-year history with the condition. And now that Lucas is a few months into his fancy new role, he and his parents, Jason and Cortney Warren, paid a visit to meet the very first Gerber baby, 91-year-old Ann Turner Cook.

Long before she was a teacher and an author, Cook became the face of Gerber after her family submitted a drawing of her for a company contest in 1928. The charcoal picture would later become Gerber’s official trademark a few years later, and her face can still be seen on their products to this day.

When Lucas finally met Cook in her home in Tampa, Florida, on June 2, the two took no time becoming good friends, the family says.

“As soon as we walked into the room, she and Lucas immediately bonded,” Jason and Cortney say in a statement to PEOPLE. “Lucas walked right up to her, flashing his signature smile and waving, and we could tell he loved her right away.”

Cook’s grandson, Chris Colin, 42, posted a picture of Cook holding Lucas on her lap to his Twitter account, and it quickly went viral — garnering some 68,000 likes and 8,000 shares on Twitter — thanks to its adorableness.

“She just loves babies,” Colin, from San Franciso, tells PEOPLE. “She thinks of herself as sort of the face of babies. And because of this funny thing that happened, she gets to meet all these really wonderfully cute little babies in life.”

Lucas felt so comfortable with Cook that he even offered her one of his tasty treats.

“He even grabbed two cookies and offered her one, which she accepted,” the Warrens say. “Ann Turner Cook is truly a wonderful woman and pleasure to be around, and we couldn’t be more grateful that she took the time to meet with our family.”

Cook, who is a great-grandmother to six great-grandchildren, has written a number of mystery novels throughout her career, including Shadow Over Cedar Key and Trace Their ShadowsShe wasn’t revealed as the original Gerber baby until 1978.

Colin says he and his family will often find knick-knacks that Cook has saved from her time as a Gerber baby, something she still takes pride in til this day.

“My grandmother has always said that there’s something about the Gerber baby that cuts across all kinds of people,” he says. “We all feel so divided sometimes, but the positive response that came from all kinds of people… that is one of the things that’s touching for me.”

Retired Principal and Mom Lay Dead at Home for Days — and Police Say They May Have Known the Killer

California authorities continue to investigate the 2017 double slaying of a former elementary school principal and her mother, both of whom were found shot multiple times in the mother’s home, PEOPLE confirms.

Police discovered the bodies of Jennifer DuPras, 55, and her 88-year-old mom, Cynthia Houk, in Houk’s northwest Fresno home on Dec. 11. They were found about 4 p.m. after DuPras didn’t show up to lunch with former colleagues earlier that day. DuPras’ last contact with friends and family was on Dec. 9.

Investigators have since ruled out robbery as a motive and believe DuPras and Houk may have known their killer.

“We didn’t find any points of forced entry, no broken windows or smashed-down doors,” Tony Botti, with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office, tells PEOPLE. “It is possible they could have maybe known this person and let them in the house.”

Adding to the mystery, a car was set on fire at Houk’s home prior to the shootings and the headquarters of a French non-profit where DuPras worked also burned down, authorities say.

The slayings have unnerved the residents of the usually quiet neighborhood, Botti says: “We don’t have a ton of calls over there and nothing like a homicide. Something like this really kind of rocked that neighborhood.”

“It’s terrible,” Botti says of the deaths. “That is why we really want to get closure for this family.”

After obtaining numerous snippets of neighborhood video, police now suspect Houk and DuPras — a former principal at Washington Elementary in nearby Kingsburg — were killed on Dec. 9, two days before their bodies were found.

The videos, released this week by the Fresno sheriff, show a white crew-cab Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck leaving Houk’s neighborhood.

The truck has alloy rims, a towing hitch, a toolbox and a decal sticker on the rear portion of the bed.

The footage is dated Dec. 9.

“We came across this one truck in different places,” Botti explains. “One was leaving the neighborhood and the others were on surface streets getting out of the neighborhood. … We know that nobody in that area lived there and owned that truck. Based upon it leaving the area where the home was, that gives us information that it didn’t fit and probably our suspect vehicle getting away.”

One thing the videos do not show is the truck’s driver or license plate.

“That is why we are trying to stir up some public’s help,” Botti says.

As to what the motive might be, Botti says, “A lot of the speculation around here points back to somebody close to them, either family or friend that had something personal going on.”

Botti says police have not yet identified any suspects. “We still continue to look at everybody,” he says. We don’t want to narrow our focus so much that we might miss something.”

At the time of the shootings, DuPras was going through a divorce, he says.

“We spoke to him shortly after the homicide and there is no evidence right now to point directly to him,” he says of DuPras’ estranged spouse, Alan DuPras, whom PEOPLE could not reach for comment.

According to local media, Jennifer DuPras retired from her education job in 2017, saying she was going to volunteer and travel as well as take care of her mother.

Since the slayings, detectives have served multiple search warrants at various locations, including at Alan’s home. They have also scoured through dozens of surveillance videos from the neighborhood.

“Based upon all the images and video we collected, we have been able to puzzle it together and look at this three- or four-mile course this vehicle appears to have taken during the timeframe in which the homicide happened,” Botti says. “Everything is going to lead us back to Dec. 9.”

Anyone with information about the shootings is urged to call 559-600-8400 or 559-498-STOP or go online.

While the yellow football jerseys and marching band garb were switched to pink versions for the second show, the fields at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, Calif., were still dotted with shades of gold as most fans chose to wear the color in honor of the Queen Bee.
Also trending was the official Beyoncé Coachella merchandise, which sold out at the festival last weekend, but was available in an online pop-up shop and a replenished tent on-site. The $ 40 T-shirts bearing Beyoncé’s Nefertiti-styled visage or her logo, and some $ 450 satin tour jackets, were seen on the backs of women, men and even a few kids.
Fans also appropriated past Beyoncé looks such blinged-out fishnet tops (the look she donned on her “Dangerously in Love” album cover), colorful boxer-style braids, wide-brimmed hats, tribal-inspired silver necklaces and heaps of hoop earrings. They Are Wearing: Sundance Film Festival 2018

Before the #OscarsSoWhite controversy a few years back put a spotlight on racial homogeneity in Hollywood, encouraging more diversity, the same could be said of the streets of Park City, Utah, a tony mountain resort tailored for skiing, snowboarding, hiking and mountain biking, depending on the season. The state is also the center of Mormon cultural influence.
As the movie industry has worked to make people of color more visible on screen, the effect could also be seen in the Sundance Film Festival’s entries as well as the industry types who descend on the festival to acquire titles, make deals and support the actors appearing in the films. (The indie showcase has always nurtured counter-culture and world cinema — with Oscar-caliber films like “Twelve Years a Slave,” “Birth of a Nation,” “Beasts of No Nation” and “Mudbound” premiering here.)
This year’s festival crowd, at least on the bustling blocks of Main Street in Old Town Park City, looked more like a melting pot, bringing with it more actual “street-style” fashions that went beyond tan shearling coats, black down jackets and furry boots. The floppy wide-brimmed hat has been supplanted by the knit beanie, and animal textures and patterns, whether real or man-made, abounded in

Girl Power! Mel B Talks Raising Daughters to Be ‘Confident, Strong Women’ – and What They Think of Her Spice Girls Music

Between raising three daughters, managing a busy career and finding time to hang out with her former Spice Girls bandmates, Melanie “Mel B” Brown won’t be slowing down any time soon — but she takes it all in stride.

“You learn something every day when you’re a mom — especially when you’re a working mom,” the America’s Got Talent judge tells PEOPLE. “You’re constantly trying to balance work, being a mom, making sure you’re there for the school runs and dinners and home-cooked food.”

Luckily, the age range among her daughters — Madison, 6 on Friday, Angel Iris, 10, and Phoenix Chi, 18 — often comes in handy. “Thank God I’ve got an 18-year-old babysitter on tap when she can be bothered to babysit,” says Brown, 42, adding, “My kids are great. They’re all very different.”

RELATED VIDEO: Mel B talks Spice Girls Reunion: “Hopefully We’ll be Doing Bits and Pieces Together”

Brown describes youngest daughter Madison — whom she shares custody of with estranged husband Stephen Belafonte amid their divorce — as the “snuggler.”

“Madison is just stuck by my side,” she says. “Madison will meditate with me and play with all of my crystals, and she’s really sweet.”

RELATED: Victoria Beckham’s Daughter Harper Plays with Spice Girls Dolls and Learns About Mom’s Pop-Star Past

Angel, on the other hand, isn’t so outwardly affectionate. “I need to beg Angel for a hug,” Brown explains. “Angel is very much in her own little world and very creative with the computer and making things and decorating her room.”

When it comes to Phoenix, she jokes, “I’m thinking I know what she does half the time, but she’s a good girl.”

RELATED: Mel B Reunites with Estranged Mother After 10 Years as They Pose for Family Photo

Though her daughters couldn’t be any more different, Brown is hoping to raise them all with the same principles.

“All you can give them is love, affection and attention and they go on their merry way,” she says. “I hope I’m raising three confident, strong women on the inside who are appreciative, respectful and supportive of other women.”

Plus, they all share a stellar repertoire of Spice Girls and ’90s era hits — whether they like it or not.

“I constantly play music around them and Phoenix was on tour with me,” she says. “One of them calls it ‘old people’s music.’ like, ‘What are you talking about? It’s ’90s pop. It’s the best genre of music ever.’ ”

She continues, “That vibe is brilliant. I listen to my own music all the time and not just my own solos, but Spice Girls and Backstreet Boys — I’m a ’90s R&B pop girl. I’m always going to be like that.”

Though Brown says she spent time with her Spice Girls bandmate Emma Bunton (a.k.a. Baby Spice) at a bar after work recently, she says that unfortunately “there isn’t” a reunion tour on the way.

“I think everyone is pretty locked into what they’re doing. Everybody is busy, and everyone has families,” she says. “But I would be the first one to be up there!”

Real Frustrated Lawyers Tell A Fake Trump They Won’t Save Him

Throughout the last month, President Donald Trump and his team keep confirming and then denying that he is under investigation by the Department of Justice.

Besides Trump confirming an investigation on Twitter, the most notable instance was his lawyer, Jay Sekulow, claiming that Trump was under investigation and then that he wasn’t under investigation during the same “Fox News Sunday” interview.

It remains unclear whether Trump truly is under a high-level investigation, but that didn’t stop Comedy Central’s “The President Show” from constructing an entire segment to parody the president’s dire/maybe-not-dire situation.

You’ve defended con-artists, foreign agents and mobsters, but have you ever done all three at once?
Parody of Donald Trump

The parody Trump addresses this confusion by saying, “I realized this week that I need to build a tremendous legal team to help me with this investigation that I’m totally not under ― wink!” Of course, he didn’t really wink towards the camera because his eyes were already in an uncomfortable-looking squint.

The parody Trump, played by Anthony Atamanuik, then auditioned real lawyers to join his legal team.

“You’ve defended con-artists, foreign agents and mobsters, but have you ever done all three at once?” the parody Trump asked one of these lawyers while pointing to himself.

It quickly became clear, though, that the underlying premise for this sketch was for lawyers to vent their overwhelming frustration with Trump to this stand-in for the president.

One of the recruited lawyers is Gloria Allred, a civil rights lawyer who has filed a lawsuit against Trump in New York. She is representing women who have accused Trump of sexual misconduct.

Trump isn’t getting away from facing his problems this time. Even if it’s sadly just a parody.

Ohio Mom and Her Two Daughters Found Dead in Bed in Triple Homicide: Police Think They Were Targeted

A mother and her two adults daughters were found dead Sunday night in their North Royalton, Ohio, home in what police are calling a targeted attack, PEOPLE confirms.

The body of 45-year-old Suzanne Taylor was found in her bed beside the bodies of her daughters, 21-year-old Taylor Pifer and Kylie Pifer, 18, on Sunday night, North Royalton police tell PEOPLE.

The three bodies were under covers, almost tucked into bed, detective Dave Loeding tells PEOPLE.

Investigators believe the killings were specific — not random — but they do not have a suspect and they have not made an arrest, Loeding says, describing the case as “tragic.”

Police received a 911 call from Taylor’s boyfriend on Sunday night, Loeding says, claiming one of the girl’s boyfriends called him after finding their bodies.

Upon arrival, investigators noticed there appeared to be no signs of forced entry, Loeding says. Police suspect the daughters were killed elsewhere in the home before their bodies were moved to their mother’s bed.

• Want to keep up with the latest crime coverage? Click here to get breaking crime news, ongoing trial coverage and details of intriguing unsolved cases in the True Crime Newsletter.

According to Loeding, Taylor appeared to have died after sustaining a fatal knife wound while her daughters’ causes of death remain unknown. They did not appear to have “obvious signs of death,” but police believe both daughters were homicide victims.

Forensic evidence collected from the scene is currently being investigated, Loeding says. Autopsies are also being conducted.

“ feel confident that all the things we’re doing are going to turn into a positive outcome,” he says.

On Monday, the girl’s stepmother told local TV station WJW that the family was blindsided. “They were great kids,” she said. “Taylor and Kylie were great students.  Taylor was majoring in fashion design, while Kylie was involved in theater and was majoring in forensic science.”

Major ISPs now say they won't sell your browsing history. Yeah. Right.

Major ISPs now say they won't sell your browsing history. Yeah. Right.Internet service providers are in an awkward spot. After getting all dressed up for the sell-your-data dance, it turns out they'll be staying home.  Or so they claim.
Reuters reports that representatives from Comcast, Verizon, and AT&T all came out today to assure worried consumers that the companies will not in fact sell customers' browsing histories to the highest bidder.  "We do not sell our broadband customers’ individual web browsing history," writes Comcast Chief Privacy Officer Gerard Lewis on the company's blog . "We did not do it before the FCC’s rules were adopted, and we have no plans to do so."   But should we trust Lewis and his counterparts at AT&T and Verizon? SEE ALSO: The software that could prevent ISPs from selling your browsing history could also just make things worse The denials were issued after the House and Senate voted to repeal landmark consumer privacy rules passed in 2016 that would have blocked internet service providers from selling the browsing history of their customers.  The public backlash has been strong — people are even donating to GoFundMes seeking to buy the browsing histories of members of Congress (although the success of those efforts is very much in doubt as no one is currently selling a "Congress's Browsing History" package deal) — and major ISPs are rushing to tell everyone that
hey hey hey, we're the good guys here. And yet.  The Electronic Frontier Foundation's Kate Tummarello points out the obvious incongruity of ISPs denying that they plan to take advantage of the new privacy landscape when those same companies lobbied so hard to bring it about.  "Those rules were a huge victory for consumers," Tummarello wrote on the EFF blog of the to-be-repealed rules. "Of course, the ISPs that stand to make money off of violating your privacy have been lobbying Congress to repeal those rules. Unfortunately, their anti-consumer push has been working." What's more, it's not like internet service providers haven't creeped hard on customers before. They most certainly have.  "Consumers have every reason to be skeptical about what the ISPs say," the EFF's Karen Gullo wrote to
Mashable, "because, as we have pointed out, they have already tried many of the practices — including hijacking your searches — that they are now allowed to do thanks to the party-line vote in Congress." Spokespersons for Comcast, Verizon, and AT&T can proclaim their devotion to your privacy all they want, but if the past is any indication you'd be right to remain skeptical. There’s A Japanese Word For People Who Buy More Books Than They Can Actually Read

Book hoarding is a well-documented habit.

In fact, most literary types are pretty proud of the practice, steadfast in their desire to stuff shelves to maximum capacity. They’re not looking to stop hoarding, because parting with pieces of carefully curated piles is hard and stopping yourself from buying the next Strand staff pick is even harder. So, sorry Marie Kondo, but the books are staying.

The desire to buy more books than you can physically read in one human lifetime is actually so universal, there’s a specific word for it: tsundoku. Defined as the stockpiling of books that will never be consumed, the term is a Japanese portmanteau of sorts, combining the words “tsunde” (meaning “to stack things”) and “oku” (meaning “to leave for a while”).

We were reminded of the term this week, when Apartment Therapy published a primer for those looking to complete book-hoarder rehab. Several blogs have written on the topic before, though, surfacing new and interesting details about the word so perfect for book nerds everywhere.

While most who’ve written on the topic of tsundoku use the word to describe the condition of book hoarding itself, The LA Times used the term as a noun that describes the person suffering from book stockpiling syndrome, or “a person who buys books and doesn’t read them, and then lets them pile up on the floor, on shelves, and assorted pieces of furniture.”

Tsundoku has no direct synonym in English, Oxford Dictionaries clarified in a blog post, defining the word as “the act of leaving a book unread after buying it, typically piling it up together with other such unread books.” An informative subreddit provides even more context, explaining that “the tsundoku scale” ranges from just one unread book to a serious hoard. “Everyone is most likely to be ‘tsundokursed’ one way or the other,” it warns.

According to Quartz, tsundoku has quite a history. It originated as a play on words in the late 19th century, during what is considered the Meiji Era in Japan. At first, the “oku” in “tsunde oku” morphed into “doku,” meaning “to read,” but since “tsunde doku” is a bit of a mouthful, the phrase eventually condensed into “tsundoku.” And a word for reading addicts was born.

Speaking of addictions ― the term “bibliomania” emerged in England around the same time as “tsundoku.” Thomas Frognall Dibdin, an English cleric and bibliographer, wrote Bibliomania, or Book Madness: A Bibliographical Romance in the 1800s, outlining a fictional “neurosis” that prompted those suffering from it to obsessively collect books of all sorts.

Bibliomania has a dark past, documented more as a pseudo-illness that inspired real fear than a harmless knack for acquiring books we won’t have time to read. “Some collectors spent their entire fortunes to build their personal libraries,” Lauren Young wrote for Atlas Obscura. “While it was never medically classified, people in the 1800s truly feared bibliomania.”

Tsundoku seems to better capture the lighter side of compulsive book shopping, a word that evokes images of precariously stacked tomes one good breeze away from toppling over. While there’s no English equivalent quite as beautiful, no one’s stopping you from incorporating the Japanese word into your regular vocabulary.

“As with other Japanese words like karaoke, tsunami, and otaku, I think it’s high time that tsundoku enter the English language,” Open Culture wrote in 2014. “Now if only we can figure out a word to describe unread ebooks that languish on your Kindle. E-tsundoku? Tsunkindle?”

Couples Were Asked If They’d Have A Threesome. Here’s What They Said

Like anything sex-related, you’ll never know if your partner is into threesomes unless you ask.

In the video above, the team over at WatchCut got the conversation started, asking couples if they’d ever be down to share their partner in bed. Some of the pairs have already done it.

“We don’t do it with people we know,” one boyfriend explains. “No kissing! And no spending the night ― [it’s] a one and done kind of deal.”

Some couples aren’t exactly on the same page.

“My wife is for me; I don’t want to share or be part of somebody else’s fantasy,” one husband says. “I’m just not that into that.”

His wife, on the other hand, seems a bit curious about the possibility.

“I don’t know about now but I probably would have before?” she says. “I don’t know! I’d definitely have to be drunk.”

Inside Allison Holker’s Son’s Neutral Nursery: ‘I’m Really Big on Letting a Child Decide What Color They Like’

When Allison Holker and Stephen “tWitch” Boss were brainstorming the nursery design for their son Maddox Laurel, now 10 months, they didn’t stick to tradition — and for good reason.

“I’m really big on letting a child decide what color they like, instead of throwing a color at them,” Holker, 29, tells PEOPLE exclusively of Maddox’s room in the couple’s newly renovated home. “I felt going more of a neutral brown would help him find what he likes.”

“I believe that not every girl might like dolls, I don’t think every boy might like cars. I think that a kid needs to have a little more space and develop on their own and see what they are naturally drawn to,” adds the Dancing with the Stars pro. “Going a neutral color will help him pick what his favorite color is on his own.”

Want all the latest pregnancy and birth announcements, plus celebrity mom blogs? Click here to get those and more in the PEOPLE Babies newsletter.

The couple enlisted the help of HomeGoods designer Amy Lipnis to bring their vision to life. The resulting space makes use of the neutral browns, tans and creams, but throws in pops of colors like yellow and blue, as well as a few special items that brighten up the room.

“We have a rocking-chair elephant that is just adorable,” Holker says of her favorite piece in the nursery. “Being able to sit with my little boy every night before he goes to bed and read him his story is the best time of the day for me. It’s something we do every night together, and it’s just our special time.”

“I really hope that when he gets a little bit bigger that he’ll actually sit on the rocking chair and actually enjoy it as much as I do. It’s so cute and it adds a really lovely childlike nature to the room,” adds the mom of two.

There’s no doubt little Maddox is covered, but what about Holker’s 8½-year-old daughter Weslie?

“My daughter’s favorite space in the house is definitely our dining room,” she says. “My daughter absolutely gets really excited for our family dinner and she always cooks with us.”

Continues the fit mama, “When we sit down, she’s always excited to ask the first question at the dinner table of, ‘How was everyone’s day?’ She’s always the one to start off the conversation, which we love so much.”

RELATED VIDEO: Go Inside Allison Holker and tWitch’s Bedroom

Though Holker and Boss, 34 — The Ellen DeGeneres Show‘s resident DJ — have been living in their first home together for a bit, they have taken their time in making it their own. But their patience and hard work have been worth it.

“We’ve been living in our home for a year now, so we’ve been working on designing it, trying to figure out what to do with . We’re excited to have it finally done and we absolutely love it now,” Holker says.

These Asian Men Are Sexy And They Know It (And They Can Dance, Too)

Asian men are sexy and they know it.

In a new video from comedy duo Seventh Grade, Asian guys with some serious dance moves get down to “Pony” by Ginuwine and effectively thrust aside Steve Harvey’s recent remarks about women not finding Asian dudes attractive.

Take a look:

And here’s another preview, just for good measure:

Last month, Harvey laughed hysterically at a 2002 book called How to Date a White Woman: A Practical Guide for Asian Men. The TV host just couldn’t buy into the idea that any woman would want to date an Asian guy. (He later apologized.)

In an interview with The Huffington Post, Geo Lee said he and Chuck Maa, the co-creator of Seventh Grade, were taken aback by Harvey’s comedy bit.

“When we first heard it, Chuck actually said out loud, ‘What? Is this real life?’ We honestly thought the ‘joke’ was a bit dated,” Lee told us. “At the same time, we weren’t surprised because both of us and most likely a lot of Asian American men have been dealing with this for the majority of our lives.”

Dealing with it but not taking it lying down. Seventh Grade is breaking down stereotypes with their grade-A sense of humor and ~steamy~ choreography.

At the end of the video, the guys all joke that they don’t need to worry about their attractiveness since they all have girlfriends anyway. But that’s not exactly true.

“We lied in the video,” Lee said. “Chuck is currently single.”

Nicole Kidman Says Keith Urban ‘Wasn’t Interested’ When They First Met

It was love at first sight for Nicole Kidman when she first met husband Keith Urban back in 2005. But for Urban, it took a little longer ― four months to be exact.

Kidman told the story of the fateful night she met the country singer more than a decade ago at G’Day USA ― a Los Angeles gala for Australians where they were both being honored ― on an episode of “Ellen” that aired Thursday. The pair even have a picture of their first encounter.

“We met that night. The craziest thing is to have a photo of when you first met,” she said. “Someone just took that photo and sent it to us. I remember thinking I had such a crush on him. And he wasn’t interested in me.”

An incredulous DeGeneres just couldn’t believe that. But Kidman insisted: “It’s true! He didn’t call me for four months.”

When pressed about why it took so long for Urban to pick up the phone, Kidman replied with a smile:

“There’s certain things ― and I think anyone in a marriage would agree with this ― you just don’t. You just leave that. We’re here now and it’s all good. We don’t need to hash up all that stuff.”

Based on an interview Urban did with Oprah Winfrey back in 2010, it seems that he was just intimidated by Kidman at first.

“I introduced myself and she was very pleasant and everything,” he said. “And there was that moment of waiting for the next thing to be said, which I didn’t know if I was bothering her or what was going on. So I just sort of said, ‘Well nice to meet you.’ And I walked away.”

“And then I thought, was I supposed to say more?” Urban continued. “A friend of mine said, ‘I think she wanted to talk to you.” Me? Why would she want to talk to me? So I went back over and apologized and we just started talking and really clicked.”

The couple, who are now parents to daughters Sunday and Faith, celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary in June. These days, Urban is undeniably smitten with his wife.

“Meeting [Nicole] and getting married wasn’t life-changing, it was life-beginning,” he said on CBS’ “Sunday Morning” in May. “It was literally, like, ‘Okay, life starts.’”

How This Mom Is Reminding Women They Are Loved

A Kentucky mom and blogger wants to remind mothers that they are deeply loved and valued.

Ashley Glass is the creator of “Beloved,” a project focused on empowering moms through photography, interviews and inspirational products.

“I want to take women from every walk of life and show how loved they are by those around them,” Glass told The Huffington Post. “My dream is for these posts to inspire women to see their own worth, their own beauty, and truly know how beloved they are!”

Glass reaches out to women she’s come across in her local community or even on social media platforms like Instagram. She asks if they’d like to appear on her website and then conducts an interview and photo shoot at their homes.

“I love for them to be in their element, doing the things that they love. The shoots are casual, laid back, and as care-free as possible,” Glass said, adding, “All of them so far have been excited to be a part of this movement.”

The mom said she hopes to interview and photograph one or two women each month and has even traveled to Nashville to meet with a few subjects. So far, she’s featured four different women on her site.

Glass lives in Louisville with her husband, 4-year-old son Pierson, and 3-year-old daughter Reese. She came up with the the idea for “Beloved” after writing a viral blog post about body shaming as a “skinny” mom. Glass said many women emailed her after that blog post to share their experiences.

“There was a common thread among them all and it was that they appreciated the post and were very much so trying to love the woman that they are, regardless of their body,” she recalled. “I am a photographer and have shot quite a few boudoir sessions over the last year. It dawned on me that what I saw was beautiful in them, they did NOT, and all day, we could go back and forth comparing one another, wishing we were more curvy or skinnier, or had longer hair or less wrinkles ― but what resonates with me is this: When are we going to love ourselves?”

Thus, she decided to focus on celebrating women and making them understand how many people truly love them ― from their partners and children to their co-workers and friends.

“I want women ― especially moms! ― to feel and know that they are beloved,” Glass said. “It is no small feat to be a woman. Our bodies go through SO many trials, so many unique challenges; some of us work hard to get pregnant, others don’t necessarily have to try so hard. But something we all have in common no matter HOW many babies we’ve had: We are a different woman. Our hair is different, our skin, our emotions, the way that we look at ourselves.”

Reflecting on her own sense of self-worth, she added, “It’s been three years since I’ve birthed a baby, and I’m still learning to love the ‘new me.’”

In addition to photographing and interviewing women, Glass also developed a line of motivational quote prints, shirts and other products with her friend Chelcey Tate.

The line includes a 12-month calendar filled with Glass’ photography. They also selected quotes for each month, which appear in Tate’s lettering on the images.

“One of my very favorite quotes is, ‘You are esteemed, chosen, valued, pursued, loved,’” Glass said. It’s one I really hold near and dear to my heart. It really does hurt my heart the many insecurities we all have … and I pray this is something we as a generation can somehow improve and overcome.”

Since sharing her interviews, photo shoots and products, the mom says she’s received a lot of emails from mothers thanking her for starting the “Beloved” project. She hopes her series will impact more women in the year to come.

Ultimately, Glass wants viewers and participants to know that wanting to feel celebrated does not indicate self-absorption.

“You were born, you are talented, you are unique, and you deserve to be celebrated and empowered, no matter who you are.”

Couple Can’t Stop Laughing As They Tell Story Of Epic OB-GYN Mishap

As parents to three children currently expecting their fourth, Chris and Rachel McQueen are no strangers to OB-GYN visits. But one recent experience was a real first for them.

On Jan. 3, the Kentucky couple posted a hilarious video after a mishap at the doctor’s office. In the video, they can barely stop laughing as they explain what happened at the end of their latest ultrasound appointment.

According to Rachel, “everything was going great” until the doctor started to examine her and accidentally inserted hand sanitizer instead of lubricating gel inside her. She asked her husband to imitate her reaction in the video.

“Whoa! Whoa! Whatever you put in there, that’s hot! You got to go!” Chris said in his impersonation. As they told the story, the couple burst into uncontrollable laughter. “He grabbed the wrong bottle!” Rachel exclaimed. “Worst experience of my entire life.”

Still as the video shows, they were clearly in good spirits about the mishap. “If you have a story that tops that one, let us know,” Rachel said. They also posted a Facebook status that day noting they were “feeling clean.”

The McQueens’ video was viewed over 5 million times. They told The Huffington Post they did not expect to go viral. “We didn’t see it coming at all,” Rachel said, adding, “But the number of views continued to rise, and you should have seen the celebration dance when we reached our first million!”

Rachel and Chris are parents to three children, ages 1, 3 and 4, and their fourth child is due Jan. 24. They have a YouTube channel called MotherHood Madness, where they post funny musings about the everyday adventures of raising kids.

The couple have declined to share the name of the doctor or his practice, noting that they love their OB-GYN and still plan to have him deliver their baby.

Rachel said no harm was done other than the burning sensation and a little bit of dryness afterward. “There was never any concern about the hand sanitizer,” she said. “With no side effects a week later, all was well.”

Rachel told HuffPost she and Chris hope people get “incredible joy” watching their video. “We were literally laughing from ultrasound room to video!” she said. “We have had so much good feedback and are bringing laughter around the world!”

KKK Members Claim They Were Paid To Fabricate Scenes For A&E Show

Members of the Ku Klux Klan who were participating in a now-canceled documentary series for A&E are claiming producers paid them to fabricate scenes for the show.

The show, “Escaping the KKK: A Documentary Series Exposing Hate in America,” was scheduled to premiere Jan. 10.

A&E canceled the series after learning cash payments were made “to facilitate access” to the film’s subjects by the production company, This Is Just a Test (TIJAT).

The show was initially titled “Generation KKK,” but A&E changed it to make it clear the film is a work of documentary journalism rather than reality-TV entertainment.

However, KKK leaders tell Variety that they each were paid hundreds of dollars in cash a day during filming to participate in fabricated scenes designed to fit a predetermined narrative of tension between Klan members and relatives who wanted to get out.

KKK leaders also say they were presented with scripted scenarios, encouraged not to file taxes on the cash payments, instructed about what to say on camera and directed to re-enact camera shoots until the production team got what it needed.

Multiple sources told Variety the production team even paid for material and equipment to make Nazi swastikas and to construct and burn wooden crosses.

One of the featured subjects, Richard Nichols, the grand dragon of a KKK cell known as the Tennessee White Knights of the Invisible Empire, said producers encouraged him to use the word “n****r” when being interviewed.

“We were betrayed by the producers and A&E,” Nichols said. “It was all made up ― pretty much everything we said and did was fake and because that is what the film people told us to do and say.”

The Huffington Post reached out to TIJAT but has received no response. The company had issued a statement to TheWrap.com.

“We take these allegations very seriously and in partnership with A&E we will be looking into them fully,” the statement said. “We fully expected opposition from hate organizations who wish to disparage this series.

“We have been told that participants in the series have received threats and coerced into speaking out against the authenticity of the show.”

The company also addressed A&E’s decision to cancel the series before the airdate:

“We had many many long conversations about how to tackle this subject matter, and we are proud of the program we made. We feel the backlash over the announcement of this series has led to a shoot the messenger mentality.”

Couple Married 63 Years Dies Hours Apart: ‘I Know They Are Together’

After 63 years of marriage, Dolores and Trent Winstead of Nashville, Tennessee just couldn’t bear to be apart.

On Dec. 9 at around 9 p.m., Dolores, 83, died after suffering a brain aneurysm; the following afternoon at 4 p.m., Trent, 88, died after his heart had weakened from kidney failure.

“I know they are together and happy for eternity, and that is a comfort to me,” the couple’s daughter Sheryl Winstead told Today. “But I never in a million years dreamed I would walk out of the hospital without either one of them.”

The pair would have celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary in January.

When Trent was hospitalized at St. Thomas West earlier this month for kidney failure, Dolores was seemingly in good health. One day at the hospital, she appeared to have fallen asleep in a chair at Trent’s bedside after complaining of a bad headache. It wasn’t until Sheryl tried to wake her up and couldn’t that the family realized something was wrong. Nurses tried to revive Dolores but her brain activity was gone after the aneurysm, according to the Washington Post. They hooked her up to a ventilator and eventually moved her and Trent into the same room.

For their final hours together, the couple held hands as they laid in beds side by side.

The couple has two kids, three grandkids and eight great-grandkids. Their son Eddie was the one who told Trent that Dolores had died.

“I had to lean down next to him, and just kind of tell him, ‘Mom has passed,’” Eddie told ABC affiliate WKRN. “When that happened, it was kind of like his whole spirit just changed.”

He continued, “I told him, I said, ‘Dad, if you want to go be with Mom, that’s quite alright with Sheryl and I.’”

Losing both Trent and Dolores in such a short span of time was undoubtedly difficult for the family, but knowing the couple didn’t have to live long without one another brought them some comfort.

“It’s like God made their travel arrangements and they went together,” Sheryl told WKRN. “It’s just really sweet.”

Watch the video above for more on their story.

7 Doodles That Explain Why Introverts Act The Way They Do

Introverts interact with the world differently.

While extroverts get an energy boost from chatting with friends at a party, for example, the same experience drains an introvert’s internal battery and makes him feel like he needs a rest.

If you’re an introvert yourself, it can be difficult to feel like these tendencies are understood. Not to worry; illustrator Debbie Tung of Where’s My Bubble? breaks down your M.O. in these delightfully simple doodles:

Couple Celebrates 70th Anniversary With Wedding Shoot They Never Had

High school sweethearts Ferris and Margaret Romaire had no photos from their 1946 wedding day. So for the couple’s 70th anniversary this year, their granddaughter Amanda Kleckley planned a photo shoot reenacting the wedding pictures they missed out on the first time around.

Amanda contacted photographer Lara Carter, who was eager to help. For the Oct. 12 shoot in Pearland, Texas, Ferris, 90, sported a tux, while Margaret, 89, donned a lavender gown and a veil. The couple smiled ear-to-ear as they canoodled and sipped on some celebratory champagne.

“You can see the love between them in the way they interacted with each other and laughed together as we would go from the different poses,” Lara told The Huffington Post. “They are a beautiful example of what marriage is meant to be.”

The couple shared some pearls of relationship wisdom with Lara, who has been married for seven years herself. Ferris said the key to a long marriage is “giving each other space and respecting one another” and also “admitting when you are wrong, except that Margaret is never wrong!”

Margaret, too, underlined the importance of a good apology.

“If you ask Margaret she would say, ‘saying you’re sorry, except that Ferris has a hard time doing that!’” Lara told HuffPost. “If a problem came up they solved it. It was more important to compromise and move on than to be right. Two was always better than one!”

The Romaires’ wedding on Nov. 24, 1946 was a simple affair. The ceremony lasted just 15 minutes and the reception was held at the bride’s parents’ home. And for the last 70 years, Ferris and Margaret have continued to keep things simple in their hometown of Morgan City, Louisiana.

“They still live in the same home they built for a growing family 65 years ago,” Lara said. “They didn’t have lots of money, but they had lots of shared values ― the love of children, a good work ethic, a strong faith in God and a sense of humor.”

The Romaires now have four kids, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Below, more photos from their heartwarming photo shoot:

Natalia Castellar Was Bullied For Her Eyebrows, Then They Launched Her Modeling Career

Our unique features make us beautiful, but it can be hard to see them that way.

As a kid growing up in Virginia, Natalia Castellar was bullied “terribly” for her long, thick eyebrows. The Puerto Rican-born 17-year-old says things got so bad, she almost shaved them down.

“I had a lot of self-esteem issues,” Castellar told HuffPost. “It was very difficult for me to embrace myself.”

Thanks to a supportive family, Castellar gradually learned to love her brows. Then her sister posted shots of her on a photography blog, W reports, and a fan base grew. Castellar recently signed a modeling contract with the influential agency Next Models.

The eyebrows she once saw as a blemish are now her defining feature.

“My eyebrows are a total advantage,” Castellar said. “They aren’t the only thing that make me a great model, but they play a huge role in attracting attention from both fans and potential clients.”

So far, Castellar has modeled for Nars and Mansur Gavriel, with more projects on the way. She says fans are often surprised to learn that her signature brows require so little maintenance

“Many people assume that I have an eyebrow routine that I follow, but I really don’t do anything besides brush them,” she told W Magazine.

Castellar also makes it a point to tell her followers that insecurities are normal; it’s how you think about them that counts.

“We need to realize that just because someone’s beauty is different than our own doesn’t mean we’re not beautiful,” she told HuffPost. “We need to embrace our diversity and celebrate what makes us, us!”

Well said.

The Rules of Life are Unpublished Because They are Constantly Changing

How and why are the rules of life constantly changing? originally appeared on Quorathe knowledge sharing network where compelling questions are answered by people with unique insights.

Answer by Dave Consiglio, Chemistry and Physics High School Teacher and Community College Professor, on Quora:

The rules of life are constantly changing because the environment in which life exists is constantly changing.

Many millions of years ago, our ancestors lived in trees in what is now central Africa. Life was good. Fruit was abundant. Predators lived on the ground (mostly), and we were pretty brainy and communicative and these could be easily avoided.

But then the rules changed.

Shifts in climate dried out our environment and forests receded. Grasslands emerged, and our lives became chaotic. We had two options: follow the trees or adapt to the grass.

Some of our ancestors did not adapt. They moved with the forests, staying where life didn’t change much. And they, consequently, didn’t change much. We call them chimpanzees and bonobos today, and there they are, living in what is left of the forests of Africa.

But others adapted. Evolutionary pressures favored upright walking, tool use, bigger brains, the ability to communicate, opposable thumbs, etc. These traits passed on, and others were lost. But every day was different. Species rose and fell, weather and climate changed, relationships between individuals were changed. We were faced with a perpetual race to keep up with the changes around us.

And we still are.

Success today depends on the ability to deal with 2016 life. But 2017 life will be slightly different, and new skills will be heavily favored.

30 years ago, my mother insisted that I learn to type. I have been enormously grateful for this skill. But there will come a time when it is not needed, having been replaced by something better.

The rules of life are always changing because the world is always changing. Tomorrow will be different than today, and so you must be different to succeed.

Prepare to change.

What accounting rules did Germany, France and the Netherlands possess before they adopted IAS? (Germany, France and the Netherlands and their adoption of International Accounting Standards Book 2)

What accounting rules did Germany, France and the Netherlands possess before they adopted IAS? (Germany, France and the Netherlands and their adoption of International Accounting Standards Book 2)

Accounting Honours University Essay In 2000 the European Union decided that all EU listed companies would have to prepare their consolidated reports in accordance with the international accounting standards (IAS) of the International Accounting Standards Committee by 2005. In general, member states can govern themselves but the EU has the power to influence their self-governance. In 2000, after the EU decision, the accounting regulators of each member state were free to decide when they wanted to adopt IAS for their nation’s listed company consolidated reports, provided it was done by 2005. German, French and Dutch accounting regulators decided to adopt IAS for their nations’ listed company consolidated reports before the 2005 deadline (the Germans and French in 1998 and the Dutch in 2001). The purpose of this paper is to examine what Germany, France and the Netherlands possessed, in the way of accounting rules and regulations for their listed companies, before the decisions of their accounting regulators to adopt IAS for the consolidated reports of their listed companies. The motivation behind this purpose comes from the recent book entitled: International Accounting by Choi, F.D.S. & Meek, G.K. (2005). The book details the history behind the current accounting rules and regulations for the listed companies of the above three European nations. This paper aims to expand on the claims made in the book by Choi & Meek. The basic material from Choi & Meek is detailed in the paper, in a summarised form, and is added to with that from other academic sources. This paper also aims to contribute analysis to the material contained in it by presenting a comparison of the accounting rules and regulations in Germany, France and the Netherlands before their accounting regulators adopted IAS for their listed company consolidated reports. This paper will be based on secondary sources of information such as academic articles, research papers, accounting books and online journals.

Golf Performance Training: . What They Won’t Tell You

If you’ve been golfing for any stretch of time, you’ve probably been exposed to the myth that movement-based functional training and sport-specific exercise can make you a better golfer. Gary Bannister reveals a proven muscle-based alternative that gets better results: proper strength training. A longtime golfer, Bannister has played with some of the world’s greatest champions. He established and coached the men’s and women’s varsity golf teams at Averett College, and opened South America’s first Nautilus gym, which led him to prepare Venezuela’s male and female golf teams for the World Team Amateur Championship in 1986. Bannister advises golfers to build the muscles involved in golf in the most efficient and effective way you can without trying to be specific. That means without trying to duplicate the actions of the golf swing. Only after you’ve done that should you focus on learning to use that strength to your advantage on the golf course. Filled with golfing anecdotes, rich history, and exercises that will keep you fit, you’ll be amazed by how much your game improves through Golf Performance Training.

I Only Hear Wedding Bells If They Ring in Alaska

2016-05-03-1462286703-3096897-weddingcosts.jpg

The venues have been vetted online, through Google Images and Yelp reviews. The current finalists? A reasonably priced lodge in Homer, Alaska, and a state-funded park in South Dakota. Now I just have to search Airbnb and determine if there are some nice hosts in either location who would be willing to accommodate about 200 friends, relatives and possibly a DJ.

This is what a father of girls must do after casually reading — and, as a result, upchucking his morning coffee — a survey revealing that his hometown of Chicago is the second most expensive U.S. location for a wedding. In my case, two weddings.

The survey, conducted by wedding website The Knot, estimates getting married in the Windy City will set me back $ 61,265 once I have covered the reception, music, flowers, attorney’s fees when my wife and I divorce after arguing over which relatives not to invite, and powerful prescription drugs that, if taken with food or milk, should hopefully make me forget the entire event and the plundering of my savings account.

Perhaps I should take heart knowing we did not put down roots in New York City, the most expensive U.S. location for nuptials, with a price tag just north of $ 82,000, according to The Knot. This is hardly a shock considering New York leads the nation in every “most expensive” category, the lone exception being Most Expensive Chicken Nuggets if Served by Snow White. Thanks, Orlando.

New York dads, you may want to consider relocating immediately, as Long Island, the Hudson Valley and the outer boroughs of Manhattan also made the list. Rounding out the top 10 were North/Central N.J., Cape Cod, Mass., Palm Springs, Calif., New Orleans and anywhere in Rhode Island.

But The Knot sympathized with fathers everywhere by also including the 10 least expensive wedding locations. Alaska and South Dakota occupied the top two spots, hence my research and willingness to offer my children a choice. I’m partial to Homer, Alaska’s Driftwood Inn. Wait until I tell my girls that not only is there plenty of RV parking for guests, but wedding packages include a promise to move the reception into the nearby Elks Club in case storm clouds roll through Kachemak Bay — wherever that is. I’d be lucky to find complimentary umbrellas in Chicago. Girls, if your dad is paying, I strongly urge you to consider this location. Other than the possibility of a grizzly bear photobombing the wedding pictures, it seems very practical.

Of course, you could also choose my other option: the beautiful (and cheap) Black Hills of South Dakota. You’ll be happy to know that Custer State Park offers numerous sites for both your ceremonies and your receptions. And, being a state park, it also includes strictly enforced quiet hours, meaning I won’t have to cave when my guests — and the caterer — plead with me to keep the bar open past the agreed upon time.

I’ll save even more money should you decide to get married in South Dakota in January. Don’t worry, I checked out the winter wedding photos online; judging from the expressions on the bride and groom’s faces, nothing says love like standing in a snowdrift.

If these two states don’t offer everything you desire, The Knot also suggests I, excuse me, we, can save money by holding your weddings in Texas (OK, West Texas), Arkansas, New Mexico, North Dakota, Idaho, Montana or Oregon. If you insist on staying close to home, Central Illinois rounds out the top 10. Just say the word and I’ll start scoping potential locations in Heyworth or Blue Mound, both of which appear to be centrally located, according to the Illinois map I just downloaded.

Girls, please don’t call me cheap. Call me practical. And if any last minute expenses come up, your dad will happily pay for them with a minimal amount of grumbling.

I’ll just withdraw some money from my secret “Finally Have Dinner in New York” account.

They Are Wearing: Prague Fashion Week

The spring 2016 runway schedule at Mercedes-Benz Prague Fashion Week was split between two highly contrasting locations — the city’s ZIBA Glass Experience Museum and its Skatepark — which inspired a notable divergence in the attending crowds’ attire. Edgy and chic did intersect, however, in the color palette of choice: classic black-and-white. And Prague’s best-dressed residents kept it local when it came to accessories, adding interest to their outfits with pieces from such Czech designers as Ether, Antipearle and Jakub Polanka.

They Are Wearing: Afropunk Fest in Brooklyn

The two-day Afropunk Festival — “a weekend of live music, vibrant art and good vibes” — has been known to bring out some of the most expressive and original street style in Brooklyn. The 11th annual festival, held this past Saturday and Sunday in Fort Greene’s Commodore Barry Park, was no exception, offering up plenty of eclectic, electric style. As Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, Danny Brown, SZA and other artists performed, festivalgoers competed for sartorial attention with vibrantly hued head wraps and dashikis, bold eyewear, chunky jewelry and imaginatively colored hair. It was a celebration of both individuality and community — cool confidence on a hot summer weekend.

25 Waterfalls Every Nature Lover Should Visit Before They Die

There’s something about falling water that enchants us humans. Whether it’s the smooth sheets of a long-exposure photograph or the raging waters of a moment captured in all its power, one thing’s for sure: we. love. waterfalls.

This week, our love of falling water sent us on a quest to find 25 of the most beautiful, most diverse, and most amazing waterfalls on the globe. A list that we think is worthy of the “before you die” classification. A list that every nature lover should add to their bucket list.

We’re not sure if we pulled it off, but after days of scouring the Internet and reading more “Top 10″ and “Top 20″ and “Most Beautiful” lists than we care to count, we’ve come up with a list of our own. Below are the 25 waterfalls we think EVERY nature should visit before they die, accompanied by beautiful photos captured by the 500px community.

1. Angel Falls

2. Yosemite Falls

3. Gullfoss

4. Victoria Falls

5. Niagara Falls

6. Fairy Falls

7. Iguazu Falls

8. Plitvice Falls

9. Manawaiopuna Falls

10. Havasu Falls

11. Rhine Falls

12. Multnomah Falls

13. Soca River Falls

14. Kaieteur Falls

15. Sutherland Falls

16. Nohkalikai Falls

17. Seljalandsfoss

18. Langfoss

19. Torc Waterfall

20. Burney Falls

21. McWay Falls

22. Skogafoss

23. Pearl Shoal Waterfall

24. Kawasan Falls

25. Detian Falls

Keep in mind that our initial shortlist had 46 waterfalls listed! Iceland alone had 6 contenders and the Pacific Northwest has enough to keep you busy for weeks. Cutting down to a final 25 was painful and difficult, and chances are good that any waterfall you think should have made the list but didn’t was considered.

Still, let us know in the comments if you think we left out a must-see waterfall. Bonus points if you’ve got your own photo of that waterfall on 500px!

And if you just want to browse more beautiful waterfall imagery from the 500px community, give this link a click and forget about getting anything else done the rest of the day.

A version of this post was originally published on the 500px ISO blog.

This Is What 13 Women Look Like When They Orgasm

One woman is depicting female sexuality in its most honest, natural state.

Lauren Crow, a photographer based out of Portland, Oregon, photographed women while they were masturbating to show what female pleasure really looks like. Instead of depicting the common cultural assumption that women’s pleasure is solely for the consumption of men — so often seen in movies and porn – Crow is illustrating real women having real orgasms.

“In a patriarchal society, women are flooded with information on how to be and how to look in order to please others, namely men,” Crow wrote on her website. “In terms of female pleasure, we are rarely shown what it really looks like.”

Far too often, popular representations of sex hide female sexuality, either by highlighting only male pleasure or illustrating flawed depictions of female orgasms. These depictions can lead to a distorted perception of female pleasure, for women themselves and their partners. Crow hopes to change that by revealing messy, sweaty and honest images of women climaxing.

“I think honest depictions of female sexuality and pleasure is important because every female-identified person has enough issues with media telling her she is wrong or not good enough,” Crow said.

Crow wants to empower all women to understand that pleasure is pleasure — and you don’t need to look gorgeous to feel it. “We need more media telling us we are beautiful, unique and wonderful and that there is no wrong way to look while enjoying yourself,” Crow told The Huffington Post.

Scroll below to see 14 images of the beautiful, disheveled and real depictions of women orgasming.

Head over to Crow’s website to see more of her work.

9 Fashion Companies From Shark Tank: Where Are They Now?

Shark Tank has served as the world’s quickest MBA for many couch-surfers—it’s nothing if not a crash course in what it takes to develop a product, build a brand, and pitch potential investors. And while show fans will know that all sorts enter the tank (all sorts), plenty of fashion brands have made an impression, too. Here are a look back at nine of our favorites and where they are now.

versakini-bikini
The brand: Mix Bikini
The season: Season 3
The deal: Barbara Corcoran invested $ 50,000 for a 25% stake.
What is it? A reversible mix-and-match bikini that’s constructed so the left and ride sides can be disconnected. The company bills each suit as having eight different possible combinations.
Can you buy? Yup, online and rebranded as Versakini. There is also reportedly a kiosk in a Florida mall.

mos-bows-bowties-shark-tank
The brand: Mo’s Bows
The season: Season 5
The deal: Daymond John advised the brand to avoid taking any of the offers put on the table, instead offering to act as a mentor free-of-charge.
What is it? Snazzy bowties made in Memphis by tween Moziah Bridges.
Can you buy? In the brand’s online shop and at Neiman Marcus.

stella-valle-jewelry-shark-tank
The brand: Stella Valle
The season: Season 4
The deal: Mark Cuban and Lori Greiner combined forces, ending up at $ 150,000 for a 35% share.
What is it? Modern jewelry with a contemporary price point created by two sisters who also happen to be army vets.
Can you buy? Online, in a slew of small boutiques around the country, certain Bloomingdale’s locations, and some on QVC.

grace-lace-boot-socks
The brand: Grace and Lace
The season: Season 5
The deal: Barbara Corcoran invested $ 175,000 for 10%, with a caveat that the cash be used as a line of credit.
What is it? What started as leg warmers and tall socks meant to be worn with boots has expanded into an empire. The brand now offers tops, cover-ups, and jewelry.
Can you buy? On the brand’s site.

skinny-shirt-shark-tank-collared-shirt
The brand: Skinny Shirt
The season: Season 6
The deal: No deal
What is it? Meant to be layered or worn solo, the form-fitting top gives wearers the same peek of collar that a layered button-down would, but with a sleeker looking finish.
Can you buy? The majority of styles range between $ 50 and $ 100 and are available on the brand’s site.

taaluma-backpacks-shark-tank
The brand: Taaluma Totes
The season: Season 6
The deal: No deal
What is it? Your classic backpack constructed of bright fabric sourced from different countries around the world. The packs aim to indulge wanderlust as a limited-edition run.
Can you buy? Bags are priced around $ 65 and available online. The episode featuring the company re-runs this Friday and a notice lets shoppers know as they’re anticipating a run: order before to insure you receive your bag before mid-September.

hip-chix-jeans-shark-tank
The brand: Hip Chixs
The season: Season 4
The deal: No deal (and a Kickstarter from this spring was also unsuccessful)
What is it? “Texas-inspired” premium jeans made of denim sateen that claims to cut way down on recovery time (how long it takes for your skinnies to go back to their original size after taking them off at the end of a day).
Can you buy? There are three different styles available on the brand’s site, priced at $ 145 and $ 187.

hold-your-haunches-shark-tank
The brand: Hold Your Haunches
The season: Season 5
The deal: Barbara Corcoran and Lori Greiner invested $ 75,000 for 40%, along with extending a line of credit.
What is it? Slimming shapewear that’s built into a range of apparel, including yoga pants, leggings and basic tops.
Can you buy? Most definitely, whether on the brand’s website, Amazon, or a range of smaller retailers.

jeska-shoes
The brand: JesKa Shoe Company
The season: Season 4
The deal: Daymond John gave her $ 70,000 for 70% of the company.
What is it? A range of shoes with interchangeable heels that could be snapped in and out, allowing for different styles and looks.
Can you buy? Nope. The company has since shuttered, with its founder posting a thoughtful note on Facebook.

They Were Just Trying To Protect Their Kids, But This Couple Won Marriage Equality

April DeBoer and Jayne Rowse are one of the same-sex couples behind the Supreme Court’s historic ruling that all 50 states must allow gay marriage. But the two Michigan nurses barely thought about what they’re going to do for their own wedding.

“I do believe we have a wedding to plan and some kids to adopt,” DeBoer said, after learning of their victory Friday.

She and Rowse were at a live-streamed gathering in Ann Arbor, Michigan, with their lawyers and supporters, celebrating as other couples across the state headed to county clerks’ offices to obtain marriage licenses.

The two women, who started their legal battle in 2011, ultimately joined plaintiffs from Ohio, Tennessee and Kentucky in the combined case, now known as Obergefell v. Hodges, that the Supreme Court heard. Other couples were fighting to have their home states recognize marriages performed elsewhere. DeBoer and Rowse, however, were originally seeking changes to state adoption laws.

Four years ago, the couple met attorney Dana Nessel while trying to prepare wills that would protect their children. Michigan law doesn’t allow adoption by two same-sex parents, so each of DeBoer and Rowse’s four kids has only one legally recognized parent. Each woman has adopted two of their four children, who are all age 6 or younger.

When they filed their lawsuit, U.S. District Judge Bernard Friedman encouraged them to expand the case to challenge the constitutionality of Michigan’s gay marriage ban. They did, and he ruled in their favor in 2014. Friedman, who had been appointed by President Ronald Reagan, reportedly cried as he told the Detroit News on Friday that he had been praying for the Supreme Court’s decision.

“We never could have in a million years anticipated that this case … would become a marriage case at all, let alone the seminal marriage case,” Nessel said.

The Supreme Court’s majority opinion notes that protecting children is a crucial element of the case for same-sex marriage. “April DeBoer and Jayne Rowse now ask whether Michigan may continue to deny them the certainty and stability all mothers desire to protect their children, and for them and their children the childhood years will pass all too soon,” it says.

Though their kids have always been the primary concern, that’s not to say that DeBoer and Rowse aren’t looking forward to the wedding. So are Ryanne, Rylee, Jacob and Nolan, who have been hearing about marriage for years. Ryanne, 5, is eager to dress up like a princess. Rylee, 2, wants to be the flower girl, though DeBoer jokingly worried that she will throw flowers at the guests.

“To my beautiful children, we did this for you,” DeBoer said.

Polls show that public opinion has shifted in favor of marriage equality since the voters passed Michigan’s same-sex marriage ban in 2004. In a statement Friday, Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder (R) urged the state to “focus on the values we share” and “respect the judicial process.”

“Our state government will follow the law and our state agencies will make the necessary changes to ensure that we will fully comply,” Snyder said. “As Michiganders we should move forward positively, embracing our state’s diversity and striving to treat everyone with the respect and dignity they deserve.”

The victory for marriage equality does not end the debate over lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender rights in Michigan, though, where it is still legal to fire someone based on sexual orientation and gender identity. Earlier this month, the governor signed a law that allows publicly funded, faith-based adoption agencies to cite religious beliefs as a reason to deny services to gay couples and others. And last week, a Republican state legislator introduced a bill that would require a member of the clergy to sign off on all marriages — a potential hardship for same-sex couples.

But on Friday, county clerks in Michigan performed gay wedding ceremonies with gusto.

DeBoer and Rowse hope their own wedding will take place before the end of the summer.

Nessel described her clients-turned-friends as “ordinary people who are all at once also extraordinary and who could not have represented this case or this cause with any more dignity — or any more humor, really — than anyone else that I know.”

The attorney not only scored a win for her clients, but also will benefit personally from the Supreme Court’s decision. Speaking Friday, she thanked her two sons for often going without her presence as she fought for other kids and she thanked fiancée Alanna Maguire. Nessel proposed in April, standing on a stepstool outside the court on the afternoon that the justices heard arguments in the marriage case.

“Meeting your future same-sex spouse during your fight for same-sex marriage is kind of the most awesome story ever,” Nessel said.

How To Make DIY Flower Crowns, Because They Aren’t Just For Brides And Hippies Anymore

diy

There are certain music festival trends that we hope never make the transition to mainstream (read: all-fringe everything), but there are others we welcome with open arms. Take the flower crown, for instance, which was once exclusively the territory of bohemian brides and hippie flower children. It’s now become a summer staple (thanks, Beyoncé!).

It’s for good reason: The flower crown looks good on everyone, complements any hair style (including bad hair days), smells delightful, and looks just at home on the beach as it does at a bachelorette party or baby shower. But the best thing about flower crowns has to be that you can make them yourself — really, it’s surprisingly easy and cheap to string something together. You can have customizable headgear all summer long.

In Hawaii, flower crowns are known as haku lei — just another version of the traditional lei. Women rock them at the beach for no particular reason, or make them for friends and loved ones on special occasions. They’re so ubiquitous and popular that Honolulu-based flower shop Paiko hosts a DIY flower crown workshop three times a week.

The women at Paiko have become experts on the process, and graciously shared the below tips so we can all blossom into summer with the freshest of trends.

Things Are Not Always What They Seem

Recently, my wife and I used the drive-thru window at our local bank. I love the drive-thru because sometimes, I’m just too lazy to go inside. With the drive-thru, I don’t have to move from my seat and can do all of my banking transactions through that little drawer under the window.

Isn’t it amazing how many lazy inventions we’ve developed over the years? We have moving sidewalks, remote controls, and even clap-off lights. The one that tickles me the most is the Lazy Susan turntable. It sits in the middle of the table and rotates so that we don’t have to exert our arms an extra six inches to pick up the mashed potatoes.

But I digress.

As I rolled down my window to pass my deposit to the teller, I heard a harsh vibrating sound outside. If you’re like me, you are accustomed to the normal sounds that your car makes. When you hear an odd or new sound, you know that it’s not normal.

I put my car in neutral thinking that the vibration might be related to the car being in gear. This, by the way, is the kind of mechanical knowledge one gets with a undergraduate degree in psychology. The vibrating sound immediately stopped. I then put the car back in gear and the vibrating sound returned. True to my training in Pavlovian responses, I repeated the sequence several times as I replicated these significant research results:

Car in gear = vibrating sound
Car in neutral = no vibrating sound

I began to salivate… at the thought of buying a new car.

You see, my Honda Pilot is 10 years old but it looks great and runs great. I have no reason to buy a new car except that my car is old and I know it won’t last forever. But this new vibrating sound may be my car’s version of the death rattles.

I began to wonder if my car would even make it back home that day. Would I need a tow? And how would I sell a car with a harsh vibrating sound like this one? I needed to be certain that my car was dying before I started looking at new cars online.

I repeated my diagnostic test once more and then looked at my wife. She has an undergraduate engineering degree but it was in computer science, not mechanical engineering. So, I was not looking at her for a diagnosis but for an affirmation of the obvious declining health of my car.

“Do you hear that?” I asked.

She nodded.

Then she casually said, “I wonder if what you’re hearing is the man working on that metal sign over there?”

I stopped my diagnostic tests and simultaneously, stopped salivating.

The vibrating sound started again and then stopped. But my car was in neutral the whole time.

Oh.

Apparently, when someone uses a saw to cut metal, it sounds exactly like a 10-year-old car dying… at least in my limited experience as a paramechanic.

Has this ever happened to you? Have you ever been absolutely certain of something only to find out that it was something else altogether? I suspect it happens more regularly than we’d like to admit. And the worst times to experience these certain uncertainties are when they relate to the words and actions of others.

For instance…

… out of simple curiosity, our spouse or partner asks us why we were late getting home and we’re sure that he or she doesn’t trust us.

… the cashier at the grocery store says we owe more than we expect and we’re sure she is wrong even though we really just misread the label on the shelf.

… our boss allows a coworker to take some additional time off due to a confidential family crisis and we’re sure the boss is just being preferential.

These are the “vibrating sounds” of life and we often misdiagnose them. Sometimes, our misdiagnosis is due to our own experiences or prejudices. Other times it’s simply because we aren’t skilled in analyzing the situation correctly. In other words, we never got adequate training in life mechanics.

The book Crucial Conversations by Kerry Patterson is a wonderful resource to help us realize that human interactions can be difficult and that we can often misread the process unless we are willing to get our hands dirty and break down the communication machine.

The most critical step is listening — not just listening to the words but to the story behind the words. The backstory is where we learn about other people so we truly understand where they are coming from.

When I heard a vibrating sound in my car that day, I only had one piece of the story — the sound. Once I listened to my wife and paid closer attention to all the clues around me, I was able to understand the whole story.

Things in life are not always what they seem to be. People are not always how they seem to be. And it’s usually a great relief to find out that our situation doesn’t require a complete overhaul after all. Instead, often, we just need to listen a bit more carefully.

‘United We Feed’ Photo Series Supports All Moms — However They Nourish Their Children

Photographer and mom of two Caitlin Domanico hopes her latest project will provide support for all parents navigating the world of pumping, nursing and bottle feeding.

“United We Feed” is a series of photos Domanico took of clients, friends, and acquaintances nourishing their babies in the manner that is best for their individual families. For many of the women, that’s breastfeeding. For others, it’s pumping and bottle feeding. And for some, it’s tube feeding.

“Everybody’s journey is so different,” the photographer told The Huffington Post. “I love being able to tell their story and hopefully chisel away at that silly term ‘Mommy Wars’ with one photograph at a time by showing that we are all humans with a unifying goal in mind — to love our little babies with all of our soul.”

Domanico drew inspiration for the series from her own experiences as a breastfeeding mom. While her oldest daughter breastfed for six months and then drank pumped milk and formula from a bottle, her younger daughter nursed exclusively for 18 months because she refused to drink from bottles and often threw fits. “I have talked endlessly to family and friends about my daughters and how I was feeding them, why I was feeding them that way, and how I felt about it,” the mom recalled, adding “I sought support from women when I felt unsure, scared, proud, guilty, and determined.”

united we feed

The other moms in her life were also sources of inspiration. “I have offered support and suggestions, mailed tea to women, cheered when I received a text of a selfie of a woman whose baby just latched, and hugged them as I agreed with them that it was absolutely okay to choose formula feeding/pumping, or to be tube-feeding because it was medically necessary,” she recalled.

“I love when I am able to give to other women, to listen, to hug them, to offer encouragement, support, and remind them that they are rocking the role of mom,” she continued. “Because at the end of the day, each woman was making a decision to love and nourish their baby no matter what the method of delivery may be.”

The response to “United We Feed” has been “incredible” and “humbling,” Domanico said, noting that she’s received countless messages from mothers wishing to thank her for representing their experiences or even requesting own photo shoots. Recently, the photographer was moved when she photographed a lesbian couple feeding their new baby. After one mom pumped and prepared the bottle, her wife fed the baby. Another powerful experience was capturing a mom whose baby with Down syndrome was finally gaining weight after months of difficulty taking a bottle.

Ultimately, Domanico aspires to host a gallery of images in the Philadelphia area where her studio is located. She also dreams of publishing a book that celebrates the variety of parenting decisions and experiences — in different cultures across the U.S. and eventually, around the world.

Through her messages of support, the mom hopes to break down some of the feelings of “mommy guilt” that stem from breastfeeding and bottle feeding. “It can lead to defensive and competitive behavior from women, who at the end of the day all have the same goal in mind- to love and nourish their precious and tiny babies!” she said.

“It is through this project I envision uniting mothers across all walks of life, while simultaneously teaching my daughters that other women are not the enemy,” she added. “We owe it to each other to foster a community that is deeply rooted in respect for one another, after all, motherhood is amazing. It is filled with joy, love, and can be so incredibly gratifying.”

Keep scrolling and visit Domanico’s website and Facebook page for a look at her beautiful series.

Trans Women Discuss Sisterhood And The Violence They Experience Every Day

Sisterhood is a revolutionary act for all women.

A new documentary series called “This Is Me,” created by WifeyTV with the help of executive producer Jill Soloway, explores the issues trans and gender non-conforming people face everyday. In the most recent episode called “And My Sisters,” artist/actor Van Barnes, performance artist Miss Barbie-Q and artist/filmmaker Zackary Drucker sit down to discuss their friendships and the daily threat of violence they experience as trans women.

“Trans women are born witty, thank God. It’s part of our survival,” Barnes says at the beginning of the video. In the video, the three women sit around a table creating “prayer pumps” to memorialize a sister of theirs who was recently murdered for being trans.

“It’s a revolutionary act to be an out, visible trans person,” Drucker says, to which Barnes added: “It’s a revolutionary act just to walk down the street [as a trans person].”

With one gender non-conforming person being murdered every 48 hours around the world, the violence these women face is very much real — and it informs their behavior.

“I feel like I have to walk around with my fists up again,” Miss Barbie-Q says. She goes on to recount a time two months prior when she was assaulted by a man on the subway, simply for the way she expresses her identity.

“I have to gauge people because if they’re staring at me for too long, I think ‘Do I have to watch my back when I walk away from this person?’ Because violence can go from zero to 90 in a heartbeat,” Barnes says.

She also tells the other women about a time she was assaulted by five men on the street: “One of [the men] put his arm out and clotheslined me, right at the neck… He grabbed me, picked me up, body slammed me. Every single one of those guys took a turn body slamming me,” Barnes said. “Every time I was getting lifted into the air I thought, ‘I hope they don’t paralyze me.’ And nobody came to my rescue.”

“How many trans people are going to have to die on the street before change happens?” Miss Barbie-Q asks the other women in the video. In January and February of 2015 alone, seven trans women were murdered in the U.S.

A sentiment towards the end of the video sums up how important these women’s friendships really are: “These relationships give me a sense of stability, they give me a sense that things are possible, they give a sense of wholeness.”

These Jane Pain Lingerie Ads Are Not What They Seem

Unconventional lingerie marketing is everywhere these days, but a new campaign for Argentinian fashion brand Jane Pain has done it in a completely fresh way.

In the clever ads, devised by the agency Conill Saatchi & Saatchi USA, sexy optical illusions are created by placing underwear over the bend of a knee, an armpit and an elbow.

A photo of the actual body part used accompanies the ad, along with the line, “If it can make your armpit [or knee or elbow] look sexy, imagine what it can do in the right place.”

This is not the brand’s first foray into edgy advertising. Back in 2012, Jane Pain’s provocative campaign featured double-take-inducing photo editing that made models appear a lot more exposed than we’re used to seeing in print ads.

What do you think of the provocative campaign? Sound off below!
