Tiffany & Co. Stands Behind Young Artists in London

ARTS AND CRAFTS: Seven young artists have won a sponsorship jackpot from Tiffany & Co., part of an ongoing partnership with the Outset Contemporary Art Fund. The jeweler provides promising arts graduates with rent-free studio space for a year to help them refine their work and kick-start their careers.
Richard Moore, the brand’s divisional vice president, store design and creative visual merchandising, revealed the names of the seven winners for this year during a breakfast held at Tiffany’s new Covent Garden concept space.
They are James Fuller, who is best known for creating art pieces out of mundane, everyday objects; multidisciplinary artist Mark Corfield-Moore; sculptor Miriam Naeh; contemporary jewelry designer Neung Wi Kim; painter Roy Efrat; Sofia Mitsola who stands out for her abstract portraits, and mixed-media artist Yasmine Robinson.
“Art has been such an important part of our brand narrative,” said Moore. “We really wanted to create not only an opportunity for young and emerging artists in London to be able to make those first steps up the ladder, but also to create that sense of community. It’s one of our brand purposes, as big organizations should really be supporting the community and the world at large.”
The winning artists will be given

Tiffany & Co. Foundation and Conservation International Screen Film at Tribeca Film Festival

The Tiffany & Co. Foundation and Conservation International hosted a screening and panel discussion at the Tribeca Film Festival of their new virtual reality film, “My Africa,” Thursday night in New York. The panel was moderated by Dr. M. Sanjayan, chief executive officer of Conservation International and included Chelsea Clinton, vice chair, Clinton Foundation; Anisa Kamadoli Costa, chairman and president, The Tiffany & Co. Foundation; and  Sammy Leseita Lemoonga, chief operating officer at Reteti Elephant Sanctuary.
“Tiffany & Co. is 180 years old and for generations our designs have been inspired by nature and the beauty of the natural world, and of course all of the materials that get crafted into Tiffany jewelry come from the earth. So, we really do feel like we have a moral imperative to take care of the environment,” Costa said during the panel discussion. “With a brand such as ours we have the opportunity and privilege to use the power of our brand and our voice to speak out on issues that are important to us.”
The panel spoke about conservation and the topic of elephant poaching with Clinton noting, “Ninety-six elephants are slaughtered a day in Africa, elephants are a keystone species. The whole ecosystem depends

Tiffany & Co. Save the Wild Collection Exceeds Expectations

Tiffany & Co. has exceeded expectation of its Save the Wild charitable collection.
The jewelry firm had specially created the range of pendants, bracelets and brooches to benefit the Elephant Crisis Fund, which aims to halt the poaching and trafficking of elephants, while also reducing a demand for ivory.
Tiffany, today recommended as “buy now” investment in guidance issued by HSBC, had originally projected to raise $ 1 million in fund for the charity by January 2019. Tiffany reached that goal earlier this week, more than a year ahead of schedule.
One-hundred percent of the collection’s proceeds benefit the Elephant Crisis Fund.
“We are thrilled this collection has been so well received, and to see that our clients share our passion for conservation,” said Anisa Kamadoli Costa, Tiffany chief sustainability officer. “One million dollars raised in only the first few months means real impact on the ground in the fight against elephant poaching and ivory trafficking.”

Tiffany Haddish Talks Reconnecting with Her Estranged Father on Hollywood Medium

There might be a familial reconciliation in Tiffany Haddish‘s future.

In a sneak peek of Wednesday’s Hollywood Medium with Tyler Henry, the 21-year-old medium seems to channel Haddish’s paternal grandfather and leads the 37-year-old comedian to talk about her strained relationship with her father, who walked out on their family when she was only 3.

When Henry brings up a connection to a father figure, Haddish explains that she has tried to connect with her father over the years. “My whole point to meet my father was to know genetically, what do I have to expect and just, you know, where the hell your ass been?” she says in the clip. “Where your ass was at when I was out here living in the streets?”

Adds Haddish: “I reconnected with my dad when i was like 27,” she says of her last attempt to reunite with him. “I offered to let him come stay with me and let me take care of him and then he disappeared again.”

Recently, however, Haddish’s father seems to have changed his mind. “Now, he reappeared and he says he wants to come stay with me now,” she says. “And there’s a part of me that’s like ‘You kinda missed that boat.’ ”

The rising comedic star appeared alongside Jada Pinkett Smith and Queen Latifah in the hit comedy Girls Trip, which premiered last month to rave reviews from critics and fans alike.

Reed Krakoff’s Tiffany Beginning: ‘Quality Fused With a Modern Eye’

Reed Krakoff is getting into the Tiffany & Co. groove.
Krakoff — who began his new role as the jeweler’s chief artistic officer on February 1 — had taken a break Wednesday evening to attend a VIP preview of the 2017 Whitney Biennial, for which Tiffany serves as a major sponsor.
The designer said he has kept busy in the last six weeks — visiting Tiffany’s various manufacturing hubs, learning the brand’s technical aptitude and devising a creative blueprint for the firm.
“I’ve been to Padua to work on sterling, I’ve been to Murano, to Vermont actually, to work with a ceramic and glass company, hand-blown and hand-formed. We are working with Wedgwood on home products, and internally there is an incredible amount of technical ability — it’s just limitless, it’s really a dream,” Krakoff said of learning the ropes.
Shedding an early light on his vision for the label, he said: “It’s really breathtaking, the amount of capability, not just creatively but technically. I think it’s unheard of in this country, frankly, a brand that can bring both to the market in a meaningful way.
“I don’t think people realize it — we are making real things with a wholehearted, artisanal, hand-wrought quality. In a funny

Artistic Luxury: Faberge, Tiffany, Lalique

Artistic Luxury: Faberge, Tiffany, Lalique

Faberge, Tiffany, Lalique-these great designers came together only once to display their goods in what was probably the most opulent exhibition ever mounted. At the 1900 Exposition Universelle in Paris, the three strove to position themselves ahead of their many competitors in the luxury market, each presenting his jewelry and home adornments as high art. Their success is explored in this splendidly illustrated catalogue, which elucidates the prewar pinnacle of European culture. The array of displayed objects was mesmerizing: Tiffany glass, Easter eggs to dazzle the Czars, realistic insects created in precious materials as sinister decorations. Many of these bore influences of the advanced art of the time, such as Art Nouveau, Viennese modernism, and symbolism, and of styles from around the world. Four essays discuss the works in the context of their times, illuminate the high societies served by the three masters, and trace the cultural trends behind their extraordinary creations. A treasure of accompanying photographs shows the individual exhibits, scenes from the World’s Fair, and the glitterati who wore the jewelry.

Tiffany Ad Features Gay Couple, Rings In New Year In A Big Way

Tiffany & Co. is engaging new customers.

The venerable jeweler features a gay couple for the first time in an ad, according to Time.

The photogenic men, who are a real couple in New York City, are pictured on a stoop for Tiffany’s “Will You” campaign, next to a picture of two rings.

Will you promise to never stop completing my sentences or singing off-key, which I’m afraid you do often?” the copy reads. “And will you let today be the first sentence of one long story that never, ever ends?”

Tiffany rep Linda Buckley told ELLE in a statement that love stories come “in a variety of forms.” “The Tiffany engagement ring is the first sentence of the story that a couple will write together as they create a life that is deeply intimate and exceptional.”

While it is still noteworthy that an iconic company like Tiffany is using same-sex imagery to advertise, the strategy has become increasingly common as gay marriage gains popularity. Advertisers such as Cheerios, Honey Maid and Ray-Ban have already paved the way.

’80s Singer Tiffany Reveals What Could Have Been Her Stage Name And Why She Posed For ‘Playboy’ (VIDEO)

Only a handful of stars are well known by simply one name. Madonna. Prince. Cher. And, as fans of 1980s teen pop music would be quick to point out, Tiffany.

Three decades ago, Tiffany rose to fame with such hits as “Could’ve Been” and her famous cover of “I Think We’re Alone Now.” But long before the single-named celeb sold four million copies of her debut album, she was just 10-year-old Tiffany Darwish singing in bars in Nashville.

“I wasn’t really allowed to be there, so it was a quick little get-up-and-do-a-little-jam,” Tiffany tells “Oprah: Where Are They Now?” in the above video. “Nobody really wanted to give me a record deal. They were kind of like, ‘Come back when you’re older.'”

A few years later, Tiffany met George Tobin, who would become her producer, and her career as an artist was starting to take shape. The first order of business? Choosing her name.

“They were going to call me Tiffany Williams at first. My last name, Darwish… that’s just not acceptable!” she says with a laugh. “I kind of just said, ‘What about just Tiffany?'”

Then 15, Tiffany embarked on tour of shopping malls across America, where her sudden popularity soon created total chaos. “When it got to be bigger than life and people were actually being shoved against barricades and it wasn’t safe and we were actually being shut down, I actually started crying,” she says.

After her debut album hit No. 1 on the Billboard charts, Tiffany felt pressure to continue that momentum. “The next album, you’re rushed in the studio to re-record something and get it out there as soon as possible,” she explains. “It kind of lost some of its charm.”

She continued putting out albums, but never quite had the same commercial success as her initial release. Tiffany’s music career went through a few more ups and downs over the next several years. As she matured and evolved as an artist, Tiffany later became determined to shed the “teen queen” image that came with fame.

“I think I’ve always been put in a box, that I’m Tiffany, the girl from the mall tour,” she says. “Then I did Playboy.”

In 2002, Tiffany posed nude for the magazine, to the shock of many. But, as the 43-year-old wife and mother now explains, she had several clear reasons for doing it.

“I was actually going through a divorce — it rocks your world. It takes your confidence away,” she says. “[Posing for Playboy] was a quick confidence-booster. And, it was shock value.

“Everybody wants to talk to me,” Tiffany continues. “If I can turn that into music and go, ‘Yeah, remember that little thing I do…?’, it works.”
