Harper’s Bazaar Australia Editor in Chief Kellie Hush Quits to Launch Fashion Venture

SYDNEY – Harper’s Bazaar Australia editor in chief Kellie Hush said Saturday she will step down from her position after six years to launch “a unique fashion brand.”
Hush will leave the magazine on Aug. 31, with the September edition her final issue.
Deputy editor and beauty/features editor Eugenie Kelly will take over as acting editor.
A representative for publisher Bauer Media confirmed Hush has resigned but declined to comment further, noting the company will be releasing a statement on Monday.
“I’m not Anna Wintour,” said Hush, “but I think people start speculating about [editors] moving on and I made the decision, it was a personal decision, I’m doing something really exciting which I want to do.”
She added of her abrupt exit, which surprised the fashion industry, “When I spoke to my publisher Fiorella Di Santo [after resigning on Friday], I was very clear I wanted to control the message. The business is in great shape, we have just smashed our September budget for advertising. At this stage our sales are up 13 percent on budget, which in this kind of market is smashing it. I wanted to leave on my own terms.”
Hush declined to disclose any other details about her new venture, other

Is Kanye West a Venture Capitalist?

Over the past few weeks, Kanye West has reemerged on Twitter to discuss it all: conservative pundits; President Trump; leading with love, and free thinking.
Sprinkled within this stream of consciousness are mentions of his Yeezy label, which he produces with Adidas. According to West, Yeezy now consists of food, shelter, communication and education. Oh, and he added that it’s also a VC fund that’s invested in three companies since last week.

Adidas didn’t respond to questions about whether the activewear company is tied to this venture, but West’s tweets show a desire to be much more expansive with the apparel and sneaker brand. He says he has hired Gap’s former head of supply chain, Deborah Palmer Keiser, and wants to make the line more affordable. He’s also staffing up and has 160 positions to fill by the end of the year.
West has always had aspirations for his brand to be all-encompassing and accessible, but his move toward a more democratic fashion collection seems to be a response to his strained relationship with the luxury industry and possibly Virgil

Former PPQ Designer Amy Molyneaux Sets New Venture

NEW BEGINNINGS: Amy Molyneaux, former designer of the British clothing label PPQ, is preparing to launch a collection of her own: a resort and swimwear brand called Lelloue.
Molyneaux has launched Lelloue with her business partner Helen Johnson, and the partners are taking a bold, unapologetically glamorous approach in order to stand out in an increasingly saturated resortwear market.
“With the new brand, I’m focusing on what I think is needed, where I see the gap in the market. There is a huge amount of resortwear that’s bohemian and hippie, but none that embraces this Nineties power glamour,” said Molyneaux of her debut range which includes bold maxi mesh cover-ups, leopard-print or polka dot bikinis and high-waisted pants and jumpsuits made from luxurious printed silks.

“I wanted to add gold foil printing, silk satins and pieces that have structure yet can stretch easily,” added the designer, who has previously designed lingerie or swimwear for various brands as a consultant. “I’m homing in on the skills I’ve developed in the past 20 years.”
The decision to launch resortwear was also a personal one for Molyneaux, who said she always enjoyed seeing PPQ’s young clientele wear her flowy, chiffon
