Viktor & Rolf’s Couture Show Goes Viral on Instagram

Viktor & Rolf’s Instagram-inspired couture collection is coming full circle: It’s gone viral.
Taking inspiration from Instagram caption one-liners, like “Sorry I’m late, I didn’t want to come” and “I’m not shy I just don’t like you,” the brand’s fanciful collection of tulle ballgowns at Wednesday’s spring 2019 couture show has been flooding Instagram feeds and has even inspired a number of memes.
Artist and meme account Saint Hoax joined in on the fun with a series of altered images from the Viktor & Rolf runway featuring celebrities and quotes they’re infamously known for, like Lady Gaga’s overused “100 people in the room” story from the “A Star Is Born” press tour and one of Kris Jenner’s most memorable quotes from “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.”
Calling the collection of dresses “Fashion Statements,” the designers wanted to balance the overused sayings with over-the-top dresses that reference the ruffles and large silhouettes of period dress.
“It’s the kind of message you find on social media, with the same instant feeling,” Rolf Snoeren noted during a preview of the collection with WWD. “All these statements that are so obvious or easy — there’s a lot of banality on Instagram and social media in

Tess Holliday Slams Man Who Penned Viral Instagram Post About ‘Curvy’ Wife: ‘Stop Giving Men Trophies’

Tess Holliday has joined the long list of social media users who aren’t happy with one man’s viral Instagram post about loving his “curvy” wife.

Many initially applauded Robbie Tripp after he shared a photo of himself and his wife, praising her figure and lamenting being teased for liking “girls on the thicker side.” But that praise quickly turned to criticism, with many calling the post self-serving.

“Stop giving men trophies for doing the bare minimum,” Holliday, a 32-year-old model and body positivity advocate, wrote alongside a pair of Instagram photos on Saturday. The first photo showed a tweet that read: “*guy likes curvy woman* 16,667 favs, national news. *curvy woman likes herself* 12 favs, 48 people in your mentions talking about diabetes.”

Tripp’s initial post – a sweet photo (taken by Kailee MaRae) of himself and his wife, Sarah, embracing on a beach – has amassed more than 30,000 likes on Instagram since first being shared last week.

“For me, there is nothing sexier than this woman right here: thick thighs, big booty, cute little side roll, etc,” he wrote in the lengthy caption. “Her shape and size won’t be the one featured on the cover of Cosmopolitan but it’s the one featured in my life and in my heart.”

He added: “Guys, rethink what society has told you that you should desire. A real woman is not a porn star or a bikini mannequin or a movie character. She’s real.”

While many applauded the man for the “beautiful” post, others slammed Tripp, accusing him of patting himself on the back for being attracted to his “thick” wife.

“That Robbie Tripp post gives me hope that one day, I too will find a man who fetishizes my weight to make himself feel like a hero,” one tweeter wrote.

An Instagram user weighed in: “This is incredibly insulting to your wife. Women of all shapes and sizes are beautiful. Putting yourself on a pedestal for being with her is arrogant.”

Tess Holiday in Straight/Curve: Redefining Body Image

As the post – and the backlash – went viral, many began digging deeper into Tripp’s social media presence, finding alleged posts that featured controversial content.

Holliday shared an alleged 2015 tweet from the man that read: “Born a Bruce, always a Bruce. Clothes, makeup, surgery, and public acceptance still won’t change how you came into the world.”

To that, Holliday responded, “Also I’m not here for someone who says transphobic things.”

Tripp did not seem too bothered by the outrage though. On Saturday he shared a Twitter photo of himself lounging on a beach-side balcony.

“This is what I’m currently doing while sad and sarcastic people are getting angry with their keyboard,” he tweeted.

Photo Of Gal Gadot’s Husband Wearing ‘Wonderful’ Shirt Goes Viral

A post shared by Gal Gadot (@gal_gadot) on

Yaron Versano has a pretty super wife.

Gal Gadot told Glamour she met her businessman husband at a “very strange party in the Israeli desert.”

“It was all about yoga, chakras, and eating healthy — we didn’t exactly find ourselves there, but we found each other,” she said.

The couple was married in 2008 and now have two young kids. Gadot gave birth to their second child this year.

A post shared by Gal Gadot (@gal_gadot) on

The actress credits her husband with helping her stick to her goals of pursuing acting, and her perseverance obviously paid off. Gadot recently led “Wonder Woman” to thus far around $ 500 million worldwide, breathing new life into the DCEU.

You don’t need to tell her husband how great she is. Versano already knows, and he has the T-shirt to prove it.

In a new photo that’s going viral, Versano stands behind Gadot wearing a pretty “wonderful” shirt in honor of his Wonder Woman wife.

The photo received more than 1.2 million views in just its first 12 hours of being uploaded to Imgur, which makes sense. The image is so cute that the only explanation for it existing is that it was molded out of clay and brought to life by Zeus.

As BuzzFeed noted, the shirt is also on Amazon, for all the other husbands who have super wives (which is, you know, all the husbands).

But this shirt was clearly meant for one dude to wear, and it’ll hit you right in the feels.

Couple’s Bathing Suit Photo Is Going Viral For An Inspiring Reason

One body positivity advocate, wife and mom is inspiring others with a viral Instagram post about growing to love her body just the way it is ― curves, stretch marks, rolls and all.

On Friday, Instagram user Jazzy (@a_body_positive_jazzy) posted a photo of her and her husband in their bathing suits holding hands on the beach. In the caption, Jazzy opened up about what it’s like to be married to someone with a different body type (her husband was “born fit,” as she puts it) and how she struggled for years to embrace her larger frame.

“Over the years this man has loved every curve, every roll, and every stretch mark on my body,” she wrote on Instagram. “I never understood why! How could he love something that isn’t ‘perfect?’ How could a man who was ‘born fit’ love someone like me!”

Since embarking on her body positivity journey, Jazzy’s confidence has soared.

“I don’t have a flat stomach, I jiggle when I walk, hell if I run up the stairs too fast my body claps (lmao)!!” she continued. “But now I see I do have the ‘perfect’ body!! Every roll, every curve and every stretch mark is put on me just perfect to make both of us happy!!! I love my body and I finally see why he does too!!”

Some commenters fat-shamed her and condemned her for “promot[ing] being physically unfit” (insert eye roll here), but many others shared their support and words of encouragement.

“Girl, my body claps too, can I get a round of applause?! Love this,” one commenter wrote.

“I also have a very fit husband, and I’ve always been very insecure about it,” another woman wrote. “Especially when meeting all of his fitness friends for the first time…I know he loves me and my curves, and I’m slowly accepting myself for all that I am! Thanks for the wise words!”

“You’re beautiful. It’s plain to see in everyone’s eyes, not just your husband’s,” another said.

We couldn’t agree more. Keep doing you, Jazzy!

HuffPost reached out to Jazzy for comment, but had not heard back at the time of publication. This story may be updated.

Viral Hair Tie Trick Helps Stressed-Out Parents Stay Sane

Calling all stressed-out parents trying to keep it together! This hair tie trick may be perfect for you.

On May 16, a mom named Shuana Harvey shared a technique that helped her “exercise patience with [her] oh so testy 4-year-old” on Facebook.

“I wore 5 rubber bands on my wrist from the time I got up, to the time I tucked him in just now. The 5 rubber bands represent every time you lose your cool or say something unkind to your child,” Harvey explained. “Every time that happens, you move one band to the other wrist. To ‘gain the band back,’ you must do 5 kind/positive things with your child (dance party, singing a song together, reading together, etc).”

The mom said she plans to use this hair tie trick until it becomes a second nature.

“I’ve found myself so incredibly stressed out, I beat my head against the wall daily because I don’t understand why my 4 year old insists on being disrespectful and a non listener,” she wrote. “I was to the point of crying at least every other day.”

After finishing the day with all five hair ties on the original wrist, Harvey said she felt proud of herself for keeping her cool. “I know it’s only day one, but I’m hopeful this will help our communication skills and our relationship,” she concluded. “If you find yourself being that ‘Angry Mom,’ try this!”

The Facebook post was shared over 11,500 times. Following the viral response, Harvey updated her post to note that she found this trick from blogger Kelly Holmes of “The (Reformed) Idealist Mom.”

In Holmes’ original blog post, “The Hair Tie Trick That Will Make You Go from Angry Mom to Happy Mom,” she shares her personal experience and also offers a “cheat sheet” for parents looking to implement her idea.

After seeing Harvey’s viral post spread throughout social media, the blogger wrote on Facebook, “Every time I see the original post featured somewhere new, I think of how many more parents and kids are feeling connected and having more FUN together because of this little trick.”

Viral Post Highlights The Body Image Messages Girls Get From Their Moms

A Missouri mom’s Facebook post is highlighting the way mothers can have an impact on their daughters’ relationships with body image.

On May 8, Brittney Johnson posted a photo of herself trying on a swimsuit in a Target fitting room with her 4-year-old daughter Payton.

In the caption, Johnson described the day she spent with her daughter, noting that Payton chatted with a barista at Starbucks, made sure to say “please” and “thank you” at dinner, complimented a stranger’s’ hair, high-fived the attendant at a carousel she rode and even gave her two extra ride tokens to another little girl.

At the end of the day, Johnson and her daughter went to Target, where the mom picked out some swimsuits to try on. As she tried them on, she sent photos to her friends to help make choices. During this process, she snapped the photo she shared in her Facebook post.

“See that sweet baby girl in the corner? With half a dress on and one of the bikini tops I had picked out?” Johnson wrote. “I stopped for a second to see what she would say and when she turned to the mirror, she said ‘Wow I just love cheetah print! I think I look beautiful! Do you think I look beautiful too?!’”

At that point, the mom said she realized the impact her words and actions have on her daughter.

“I tell her that she is beautiful every single day,” Johnson wrote. “She is kind walking through the mall, because I tell her she is kind everywhere else. She is polite at the order counter because she hears me when I’m polite to strangers everywhere. She gives compliments to people she doesn’t know because she loves how it feels when she hears them.”

Applying this realization to parenting, she added. “When we are in a dressing room, with swimsuits of all God forsaken things, there is a split moment when I have the power to say ‘wow I have really gotten fat this year’ OR ‘wow I love this coral color on me!’ And those are the words burned into my daughters brain.”

Johnson called on her fellow parents to be examples for their kids when it comes to manners, kindness and body image.

“I am not a size zero. I never will be. I have big thighs and a huge rump and for some reason the middle of my body gets more tan than the rest?” she wrote. “But this body made a whole other body. I am strong. I am able. And I am happy. I don’t have to be beautiful like you, because I am beautiful like me.”

She added, “And as my daughter gets older, and she faces judgement and criticism, I will always remind her that the girls who look the prettiest in a two piece, or a body suit, or a freaking Snuggie, are the ones who are happy. Because that’s ALL that matters. And I want her to look at herself every single day and say ‘Oh wow! I think I look beautiful!’ because EVERY girl deserves to feel that.”

Johnson’s post received over 227,000 likes. She told HuffPost she was touched by the overwhelming response and ability to connect with fellow parents. Many people reached out to say her post inspired them to stop saying negative things about themselves.

“It has been such a great reminder that we are all on the same team, have the same fears and ultimately want the same thing for our children ― love,” she said.

“For every mean comment that I’ve received about my body, I’ve received at least a thousand positive comments, and I have to say that gives me a little more faith in humanity than when I started,” the mom added.

Johnson said she’s become a strong proponent of self-love. “I’m a mom but I am a lot of other things too. I’m a friend and a woman, and I think that sometimes going through the motions of being a momma drowns out the time to be all of the other things too,” she told HuffPost, adding that she thinks it’s particularly important to teach young girls to love others and themselves.

“I hope people can read my post and then look at themselves and say, ‘Here I am, and I am beautiful just the way I am.’ I hope people take away from it that our kids should know self-love and will only learn it if we take the time to teach it to them,” Johnson said.

She added, “And no matter what kind of mom you are or what size, you are beautiful and have every right to feel like you are.”
