Street Style at New York Fashion Week Spring 2020

At New York Fashion Week, the street style can be just as intriguing as the looks on the runway.
Cooler September temperatures have made the street style set forgo their traditional summer wear for more layers, including printed suits and matching sets worn in both neutrals and colorful prints. The monochromatic look is also proving to be a favorite, with showgoers gravitating toward greens, purples and pinks.

A Brief History of Beyoncé at Fashion Week

Today, a Beyoncé red carpet appearance is a rare occasion, but back in the early Aughts, the pop icon was a fixture at fashion week.
The singer, who turns 38 today, was a front row regular at New York Fashion Week, attending shows like Baby Phat, BCBG, Emporio Armani and Badgley Mischka with then-boyfriend Jay-Z, where she was routinely seen photographed with the designers. Her most recent fashion week appearance dates back to 2015 at Kanye West’s Yeezy Season 1 show at New York Fashion Week, where Beyoncé was photographed sitting front row alongside Jay-Z, Kim Kardashian West, Anna Wintour, Hailey Bieber and Russell Simmons.

NYFW Spring 2020: What to Expect at New York Fashion Week in September

As summer enters its final month, the fashion industry is gearing up for another show season, but it’s starting with a New York Fashion Week that’s a bit different from seasons past.
The biggest news for the spring 2020 collections is that NYFW will be on a shorter official schedule, down to six days of shows listed on the calendar released by the Council of Fashion Designers of America. The initiative to trim down the schedule was spearheaded by the CFDA’s new chairman, designer Tom Ford, who assumed the role from longtime CFDA head, Diane von Furstenberg, in June. Upon his appointment as CFDA chairman, Ford said reinventing NYFW was a top priority.
From which designers are showing to Ford’s role as CFDA chairman, here is what to expect from NYFW spring 2020.
1. A shorter schedule for NYFW spring 2020

This September, the Council of Fashion Designers of America is introducing a shorter, more compact schedule for New York Fashion Week, decreasing to six days of runway shows and presentations. The schedule will now begin on Friday, Sept. 6 — with the first show a “performance” by Telfar — and will end on Wednesday, Sept.

Veronica Mars Season 4 is Streaming on Hulu a Week Early

Hulu has announced that the new season of Veronica Mars is streaming a week early. Instead of waiting until July 26 for the new season, Veronica Mars fans can see the full eight-episode season on Hulu right now.

Veronica Mars Season 4 sees the eponymous character (played by Kristen Bell) return to her home city of Neptune, CA where she now works with her dad as a private investigator. The homecoming goes awry when a series of bombings terrorize the city.

The fourth season sees Mars embracing her detective role professionally, a path she first started in high school when she took it upon herself to find out who murdered her best friend Lilly Kane (Amanda Seyfried).

Veronica Mars originally ran for three seasons, first on UPN then The CW, before the series ended in 2007. The series combined the noir detective genre with a high school setting, except in Season 3 when the series followed Mars to college. Series creator Rob Thomas later successfully funded a Veronica Mars feature film on Kickstarter, and the Veronica Mars movie was released in 2014.

Vogue Talents to Celebrate 10th Anniversary With Exhibition at Milan Fashion Week

TALENTS ON SHOW: To mark its 10th anniversary, Vogue Talents, Vogue Italia’s fashion talent scouting project, will be celebrated during the upcoming Milan Fashion Week with an exhibition at Brera’s Palazzo Cusani, running Sept. 20 and 21.
The exhibit will include the creations of 70 designers who in the past 10 years were involved in the program, which was founded in 2009 by the magazine’s late editor in chief Franca Sozzani and Sara Sozzani Maino, currently head of Vogue Talents and Vogue Italia deputy editor for special fashion projects.
“Vogue Talents was created to support the new generation of creatives at a time when few people believed in talent,” Sozzani Maino said. “It’s borderless and barrier-free, and it searches the world, because there’s talent everywhere. Our mission going forward is to act responsibly and set an example that the world needs to change.”
The list of designers scouted by the team of Vogue Talents includes names such as Jonathan Anderson, Aquazzura, Giannico, Paula Cademartori, Arthur Arbesser, Simone Rocha and Bethany Williams.
In keeping with the 10th anniversary celebrations, some of the aforementioned designers will explain the role that Vogue Talents had in the development of their careers with short movies which will be posted

The Best Social Media Moments From Fall 2019 Couture Week

Couture week might be over, but the viral moments are still reigning on Instagram.
While Celine Dion and her high-fashion wardrobe stole the show, many celebrities had their fair share of memorable moments at the fall 2019 couture week, including Gwyneth Paltrow, Zendaya, Nick Jonas, Priyanka Chopra and Kiernan Shipka, among others. Take Christina Aguilera, who turned up at the Viktor & Rolf show in one of the viral meme-inspired dresses from the designers’ previous couture show — an oversize tulle dress that read “F–k this I’m going to Paris.”

Others took to their Instagram accounts to document moments from the shows themselves, including the library backdrop at Chanel’s couture show — the first solo couture show for new designer Virginie Viard — and the finale at Valentino, where designer Pierpaolo Piccioli took his bow with his entire atelier staff, each taking a moment to hug and kiss founder Valentino Garavani sitting in the front row.

Camera Nazionale della Moda to Shake Up Milan Fashion Week Schedule

BREAKING THE ROUTINE: Camera Nazionale della Moda on Thursday revealed that changes will be made in the Milan Fashion Week schedule in the future. Some key Italian fashion players agreed to rotate slots in upcoming seasons to favor a more balanced calendar.
The decision came at the end of a roundtable of the fashion week work committee, which includes brands such as Bottega Veneta, Fendi, Giorgio Armani, Gucci, Max Mara, Marni, Prada, Salvatore Ferragamo and Versace.
“A strong spirit of sharing and synergy has already drawn up a more balanced calendar to give due weight to all of the fashion week days and thereby benefit the entire system and the city of Milan,” according to a statement released by the Italian fashion chamber.
As a result, in the upcoming edition of Milan Fashion Week running Sept. 17 to 23, Prada will stage its show in the afternoon of the first day of shows, Sept. 18, a Wednesday, instead of the afternoon slot on Thursdays the brand has usually held. Consequently, Gucci will postpone and stage its show on that Sunday, Sept. 22.
In the following season of women’s shows in 2020, Gucci will reprise its usual Wednesday spot, presenting its fall 2020 collection on

Cowboys, Y-Fronts and the New Drag: Brands to Check Out During Paris Men’s Week

PARIS — Paris men’s fashion week is having a moment: Hailing from Los Angeles, Sweden, China or Monaco, Rhude, Eytys, Li Ning and Alter are among the rising international brands that have been added to the official men’s calendar and presentation lineup this season.
GAMUT
Things are going pretty fast for Gamut, the fashion collective created in 2017 by former students of La Cambre fashion school in Brussels — which is surprising, because the seven French nationals are intent on taking their time.
“We’re continuing to experiment with the fashion calendar: We chose to skip fall 2019 to focus on our showroom, and realized that taking nine months to create a collection was a rhythm we quite liked,” said one of the members — all of whom prefer to remain anonymous — speaking at the collective’s studio at the Porte de la Chapelle, a somewhat sketchy area in the remote 18th arrondissement.
Since its first debut show last September, Gamut has added a photographer/visual director to its team, and landed a spot on the French couture federation’s official calendar for presentations. Now it’s behaving like full-fledged business with dedicated members in charge of sourcing, production, administration and communication. Decisions are still fully collegial, though.

Retailers Hail Return of Tailoring, Bold Color at London Men’s Week

LONDON — The light men’s wear schedule for spring gave retailers a chance to deep-dive into emerging trends and give emerging talent a chance to shine. Craig Green, Stefan Cooke and Martine Rose were among the darlings of the three-day showcase, with retailers lauding their bold designs and strong aesthetic.
“Craig Green’s collection was a glorious, uplifting, colorful expansion on a signature style that he has really defined,” said Bruce Pask, men’s wear fashion director of Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus, who also talked about the increasing influence of tailoring on the London runways.
Simon Longland, general merchandise manager for men’s wear and sports at Harrods, also noted the new focus on tailored looks. “There were celebrations of modern tailoring at its finest, generously cut and in a sleek style. This was a key feature that ran through several shows,” he said.
Here, retailers talk about some of the London highlights.

British Label Stefan Cooke Finds Its Voice, and Flies Solo, at London Fashion Week Men’s

LONDON — Stefan Cooke and Jake Burt, cofounders of the label Stefan Cooke and finalists for the LVMH Prize, are about to stage their first solo runway show on June 9 during London Men’s Fashion Week, and they’re feeling the heat. “It feels surreal to be doing it by ourselves. It also feels intimidating,” said Cooke, who has witnessed a shower of accolades over the past two years.
The brand has won the H&M Design Award and the L’Oréal Professional Creative Award, but Cooke and Burt will now have to wait until September to see if they’ve scooped the LVMH Prize.
Having shown under the Fashion East umbrella, the duo have moved on from conceptual to more commercially focused designs. The label is stocked at Machine-A, Dover Street Market and Matchesfashion.com.
Their lines for spring/summer 2020 have a more relaxed silhouette than in past seasons, where trousers and shirts were tight and cropped. They will also be introducing a new bag concept, a category that’s been performing well for the company.
As they build the brand, they’ve been asking themselves some difficult questions, such as: “How do you take all of the things that are Stefan Cooke, like textile manipulations, and turn them into

New York Fashion Week: Men’s Hanging on by a Thread

New York Fashion Week: Men’s is on life support.
Less than three weeks until the start of the men’s spring runway season, the Council of Fashion Designers of America has finally released its calendar — and it’s not pretty.
There are fewer than 20 men’s designers showing and half are with Agentry PR’s New York Men’s Day. Absent from the calendar are some designers who have been active supporters of the men’s shows since they were launched four years ago, including Todd Snyder, Robert Geller, Ovadia New York, Carlos Campos and Bode.
Instead, the calendar kicks off on June 3 with Agentry’s presentations of small and emerging designers only. The following day, N.Hoolywood will show at 6 p.m., followed by Frere at 7 p.m. The final day on June 5 will see presentations from Hecho, Freemans Sporting Club, Untitled Collective, Dyne and Linder, as well as shows from Private Policy, NIHL and Grungy Gentleman.
The reasons for the lack of participation are several. First, this marks the first time the men’s shows have moved from July to June to coincide with women’s resort. That timing is early for a lot of brands since the men’s market in New York is generally in mid- to

Agentry to Open New York Fashion Week: Men’s Again

Agentry PR is pivoting.
The organizer of New York Men’s Day, a showcase for emerging designers, will once again open the men’s spring calendar, working in tandem with the Council of Fashion Designers of America.
The CFDA shifted the men’s dates to June 3 to 5 this season to coincide with the women’s resort calendar. This means the New York-based men’s shows will take place ahead of the men’s shows in London, Florence, Milan and Paris.
Agentry had considered sticking with the former July dates to give the designers more time to prepare their collections and align with the New York men’s trade shows, but opted to stick with CFDA instead.
But there are other changes: New York Men’s Day will now be held at Daylight Studios & Location 05, next to the newly opened Hudson Yards complex on the West Side of Manhattan. For the past few seasons, the shows had been held at Dune Studios in the financial district.
New York Men’s Day will feature presentations from nine designers, down from 12 in prior iterations. Five will be held over a two-hour period in the morning and four in the afternoon.
But the event will also feature an All Stars Showcase where previous Men’s

Byredo Toasts Collection During Paris Fashion Week

Ben Gorham brought together Byredo’s trendy community during Paris Fashion Week, from Off-White designer Virgil Abloh to Anja Rubik, Aymeline Valade and influencers Pernille Teisbaek and Caroline Daur.
The occasion was Gorham’s accessories collection for the label, which dabbles in beauty and leather goods.
“I’m based in Sweden, so this is the right occasion to bring everyone together and connect with our community,” said the designer.
But despite his cult following, Gorham is committed to going against the fashion current and taking it slow.
For fall, he presented a small, focused accessories collection where he reworked the brand’s popular Seema bag using embroideries and hand-painted techniques.

His inspiration was the art of bird-watching, which he was drawn to for its peaceful, community-based nature. He loosely translated this into bags in bright colors and hand-painted inkblots, that reflected the “perfect symmetry of birds.”
A black version featuring neon blue inkblots stood out.
“This style has quickly become our iconic bag, maybe because it has a very strong silhouette — without branding or without hard wear, it still became quickly recognizable. So I felt like I should keep exploring different iterations of this bag and use it as a canvas,” said Gorham. “I’m quite slow, but

Chainmail Is a Trend Happening at Paris Fashion Week

As many stay tuned to Paris Fashion Week, an unlikely fashion trend has popped up among the Parisian street-style set: chainmail.
The 12th-century armor, originally a mesh made up of metal rings to protect the head and body, has been reimagined by many Paris showgoers, who are wearing the style in silver, gold and black as clothing, headwear and handbags.
Giving a nod to the medieval chainmail style, two showgoers were seen wearing the style as headwear, one with a black chain-link headpiece worn over a metallic silver headscarf and another wearing a silver chain-link headpiece with a matching handbag.

Others went with more of a disco theme. Designer Michelle Elie wore a silver metallic sequined dress with a matching bag, while another paired a metallic gold chain-link top with a matching gold sequined skirt.

Over the decades, the style has been a runway staple, most notably by Paco Rabanne, who made it his signature style in the Sixties. Most recently, the look was interpreted for fall by designers including Christian Siriano, who gave models ponytails tied together with links of chainmail; Area, which accented clothing with colorful

Retailers Weigh In on the Pros and Cons of Men’s Fashion Week

Men’s wear retailers had a choice to make this week: stay in New York for the men’s runway shows or jump a flight to Las Vegas for the trade shows.
As reported, both events overlap this season; an unfortunate shift in dates by Project to a week earlier forced merchants and vendors to choose between the two.
NYFW: Men’s will run Feb. 4 to 6 in New York City — the start of the larger 10-day New York Fashion Week — while Project, Liberty Fairs and Agenda will run Feb. 5 to 7 in Las Vegas.
The men’s part of the show calendar has had trouble gaining traction since it was introduced by the Council of Fashion Designers of America four years ago. Most of the marquee designers have either opted for dual-gender shows — Tom Ford, Michael Kors and John Elliott among them — or showed in Europe, such as Ralph Lauren and Thom Browne. Other men’s designers have opted out of showing in New York altogether including Billy Reid, Perry Ellis and Carlos Campos.
With some exceptions — Joseph Abboud, Todd Snyder, Robert Geller and Ovadia & Sons — the men’s-specific days on the calendar are full of little-known designer names, many of

Deborah Lyons Kicks Off London Fashion Week With Jazz Night

COMING HOME: Deborah Lyons loves keeping her audience entertained.
For the debut of her new fall 2019 collection, she took over London’s Burlington Arcade on the eve of London Fashion Week — which also happened to be Valentine’s Day — dressed it up with myriad red roses and invited guests and their loved ones for a jazz night.
There were drinks, chocolate treats and a live jazz performance, with the band and singers sporting Lyons’ new fall 2019 pieces, which channeled a tougher, more confident mood, with a darker color palette and a strong focus on the brand’s signature silhouettes.
Some of the highlights included plaid tailored blazers and matching slim pants, body-hugging jumpsuits and a dramatic maxidress appliquéd with red roses all over.
This was the first time Lyons showed on home turf, after taking her show on the road and hosting her debut presentation aboard a Eurostar carriage last September.
“We wanted to do something more intimate and local this time, that brought together our immediate community. Also it’s a nice way to lead into London Fashion Week,” Lyons said.
Her aim with choosing off-schedule slots and alternative presentation formats remains the same: Cutting through the fashion week noise and getting the right audience

Video: Watch Barry Manilow Perform Copacabana at Fashion Week

Michael Kors brought some additional star power to the finale of his fall 2019 show: the iconic American singer, Barry Manilow.
After the last model took her walk on the runway, the house lights dimmed and much to everyone’s delight, a curtain was drawn back revealing Manilow decked out in a bedazzled orange blazer. And there it was, that iconic first line: “Her name was Lola…”

The singer began singing his hit song, “Copacabana,” as models took their finale walk. They then made their way to the stage to join Manilow, including Bella Hadid who took the singer’s hand and swayed with him back and forth.
The rest of the models took their position around the stage, dancing together as Manilow showed off his own moves. The runway at Cipriani Wall Street was decorated with an array of disco balls, fitting for the singer who got his start in the Sixties.

As Manilow finished the number, he was joined by Kors and model Patti Hansen, who hugged and kissed the singer as the audience gave him a standing ovation.
While the performance was a surprise to guests, Kors had hinted at something special on the brand’s Instagram account an hour prior to the show, informing

The Fashion Week Blizzard Didn’t Keep NYFW Showgoers Down

Fashion Week.  Snowstorms. Not a great fit.
So how did the street style set cope with the inclement weather that blanketed New York City with slippery ice and ankle-deep puddles of slush? Some, with aplomb, others — not so much.
Naturally, however, there were some fashion trends forming. The “It” accessory for the snow day was the clear bubble umbrella, as seen on style blogger Christie Ferrari, who paired one with a cream-colored coat over a blue and green outfit.
And despite the slush, some opted for monochromatic pastel outfits in shades of lilac, orange, green and pink, like style blogger Susie Lau, who wore a pink fur Coach jacket over a floral printed dress. Instagram’s Eva Chen, wore an all-lilac outfit featuring an Ochi coat, Cos turtleneck and matching beanie.
On the other hand, some went the neon route, adding a small burst of color to an otherwise dark outfit. One attendee added pops of neon green with her hat and sneakers to an all light denim outfit. Another layered a hot pink fur-lined jacket under a cheetah-print fur coat.
You’ve got to give it, however, to Oscar de la Renta designers Fernando Garcia and Laura Kim, who on the day of their show

EXCLUSIVE: Heron Preston on Opening Paris Men’s Fashion Week

PARIS — “Streetwear on the runways of Paris has always been that vision that I’ve shared with my friends, the ultimate opportunity to present some new fresh ideas in a city and platform that we have always looked up to,” said Heron Preston, who today at the Palais de Tokyo will present the first runway show of his namesake label, as part of the official calendar of Paris Men’s Fashion Week.
Call him a quick learner. Preston, who was “raised” by the skate culture in San Francisco where he grew up, and who first started making noise in 2012 with his art-project bootleg spins on the Givenchy Rottweiler T-shirt, said that it was only around four years ago, when he started working with Kanye West, that he was introduced to the world of Paris fashion.
A former art director for West, Preston — who’s considered a post-Internet Renaissance man — worked at Nike and was also a part of the Been Trill art and DJ collective with Virgil Abloh, Justin Saunders and Matthew Williams.
“I really put myself in that environment with Virgil, Matthew and Kanye [West]. And going to Paris with those guys, I was always that kid who felt like a bit

Copenhagen Fashion Week Delivers Charm — and a Green Focus

COPENHAGEN — The appeal of the Copenhagen fashion girl, often found riding a colorful bicycle and sporting pearl-encrusted hair clips, is here to stay.
Apart from charming the world with their flair for candy colors, cozy decorating and quirky accessories, the Danes mean business: Pioneers in the contemporary category, they’re experts at offering trendy, fuss-free pieces at what they refer to as “honest price points.” Now, they are ready to shift up a gear.
Everyone from Ganni, Copenhagen’s breakout label, to newcomers such as the outerwear brand Stand and Instagram hit Rotate are in the process of expanding their retail footprints across Europe and the U.S. Some are broadening their ranges to include accessories.
They want to do it all with a conscience.
Sustainability in Denmark is less marketing ploy and more a way of life, so when Copenhagen Fashion Week’s newly appointed chief executive officer Cecilie Thorsmark laid out her ambitious plan of turning the three-day showcase into the most sustainable international fashion week, she found that local and international brands were quick to align with her mission.
British label Mother of Pearl opened Copenhagen Fashion Week, which ran from Jan. 29 to Feb. 1, with an intimate presentation of its seasonless, sustainably made

What to Watch: New York Fashion Week: Men’s Latest Challenges

New York Fashion Week: Men’s has had trouble gaining a foothold since it was launched by the Council of Fashion Designers of America four years ago. The upcoming fall shows — slated for Feb. 4 to 6 — are facing even bigger challenges. First, an unexpected one-time shift in dates by the trade shows in Las Vegas means that retailers and editors who usually attend both will have to make a choice or abbreviate one or both of the events. Project, Liberty Fairs and Agenda will be held Feb. 5 to 7.
On top of that, many of fashion’s biggest and buzziest names have opted to either hold dual-gender shows or have decamped to other cities. Tom Ford will again hold a men’s and women’s show, as he has in past seasons, at 8 p.m. on Feb. 6, officially ending the men’s shows. The women’s shows kick off with Ralph Lauren on Feb. 7 at 10 a.m.
Also opting for dual-gender shows later in the week are Palm Angels — which is making its New York debut — on Feb. 8; John Elliott on Feb. 9; Opening Ceremony on Feb. 10, and Michael Kors on the final day, Feb. 13.

London Fashion Week Men’s Fall 2019: What to See, Eat and Where to Shop

LONDON — The first weekend in January is never an easy one, but London has the antidote, with a lineup of streetwear and luxury stores and restaurants serving everything from classic British to Taiwanese food, all of which will be open during London Fashion Week Men’s.

London store End.

END OF THE LINE: British property group Shaftesbury has expanded its retail portfolio, opening the first London outpost for the online men’s wear store, End. Occupying 9,000 square feet on the corner of Broadwick and Marshall Streets, the two-story glass-fronted space offers a range of collections from labels including Off-White, Gosha Rubchinskiy, Nike and Adidas Consortiums. The store, which already has units in Newcastle, England, and Glasgow, Scotland, features modern furnishings such as marble staircases and glass showcases.
End is part of a strategy by Shaftesbury to position Soho as a go-to destination for emerging brands. The company has been offering reasonable rents in the neighborhood, which is a few minutes’ walk from Oxford and Regent Streets. Shaftesbury has also helped to install Supreme, Palace, Carhartt and Dukes Cupboard, a multibrand retailer, in the neighborhood. Samantha Bain-Mollison, head of retail at Shaftesbury, has been driving the strategy. She describes End as “influential, with a renowned selection of directional and globally sourced men’s wear.” — Hannah Connolly

Alexander McQueen Missing From Paris Men’s Week

SHOW BUSINESS: Big acts missing from the official schedule of Paris Men’s Week in January will include Alexander McQueen. The house plans to switch to a series of intimate events as its new presentation format, WWD has learned. The first will take place in London in May for the fall 2019 season. “Intrinsically connected to the bespoke tailoring heritage of Alexander McQueen men’s wear, these events will be central to the evolution of the house’s commitment to the championing of creativity, craftsmanship and innovation,” the brand said. The house moved to showing in Paris in June 2017 after having shown by appointment in Milan and London in previous seasons.
As expected, Lanvin, which recently parted ways with its men’s creative director Lucas Ossendrijver, is also missing from the lineup, according to the Chambre Syndicale which released its provisional schedule for the week on Friday.
Maison Margiela will also sit out the Paris men’s shows this season as it undergoes a strategic review under chief executive officer Riccardo Bellini, who joined the company in March. The house is believed to be aligning its men’s ready-to-wear collection more closely with its women’s line and Artisanal couture collection. Maison Margiela creative director John Galliano oversees

Gucci to Host Event During January’s Fashion Week in Milan

MILAN — Gucci will cap off the upcoming Men’s Fashion Week in January with a performance event here.
As Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana president Carlo Capasa revealed during a press conference on Wednesday presenting the schedule of the city’s upcoming fashion week, the fashion label — which will return to Milan in February with a coed show after it decamped to Paris last September for one season — will host the “Motus presents MDLSX with Silvia Calderoni” performance event at its Gucci hub headquarters on Jan. 14. The performance, which will be produced by independent theater company Motus and directed by Enrico Casagrande and Daniela Nicolò, will blend a monologue by Calderoni and video projections exploring the notion of gender identity in a play inspired by the 2003 novel “Middlesex” by American writer Jeffrey Eugenides. Capasa dubbed the event “not to be missed,” noting how important it is for Gucci to be part of the official schedule.
Men’s Fashion Week will run Jan. 11 to 14 and while, as reported, the Giorgio Armani brand is the latest to join the likes of Gucci, Bottega Veneta and Salvatore Ferragamo to skip the January shows to host a coed runway event in February, Emporio Armani

Izzue to Launch Capsule With CSM and to Show During London Fashion Week

FIRST TIME AROUND: Hong Kong fashion brand Izzue is throwing a 20th birthday bash in the form of a runway show during London Fashion Week in February. This will be the first time that Izzue’s men’s and women’s pieces will be showcased on a London runway.
“London has always been a source of inspiration for Izzue. It has always embodied British punk, so to show outside of Asia needed to be a natural next step and it needed to make sense, so it had to be London,” said Deborah Cheng, chief commercial officer at I.T group.
Izzue, which is under the multibrand I.T Group, has formed ties with London since 2013 when they launched in the U.K. in Selfridges. Since then, the brand has gone from being a pop-up to having a dedicated space in the department store’s Contemporary Studio on the third floor.
“Our pop-up was so successful back in 2013 that we were offered a permanent space on the ground floor right after, and to this day we are still exceeding their expectations. We’ve grown with Selfridges and now we are located in the Contemporary Studio,” said Cheng.
On top of its runway show debut, the brand is also launching a capsule collection with

Dilara Findikoglu Swaps Fashion Week for Halloween

EXPLORING CONFLICT: Dilara Findikoglu, the Turkish-born, London-based designer, has built a reputation as a rule breaker ever since she staged a guerrilla fashion show outside Central Saint Martins three years ago.
She has now been rethinking the fashion calendar and quit the London Fashion Week schedule this September to present her spring 2019 collection in time for Halloween, in an 18th-century Georgian home in East London filled with dark wood furniture, grand chandeliers and an array of paraphernalia dating back 300 years.
“It’s important for a young designer to try to experience new things. If you follow what everyone else is doing, there is no point in trying to be a young innovative designer,” said Findikoglu. “That’s the main reason why I wanted to present in a different time, in my own time. Maybe it will open a new way for other young designers where we don’t get lost between the stress and crazy pace of fashion week. Right now it’s my time, my day and I could present the way I wanted.”
She pointed to the importance of people coming and spending time in the venue, to discover her world and the intricacy of her clothes: “If this was fashion week, people
